Translation to something at least resembling English would be nice too. "Last fixes"? (Ever? Promise?) "Uploaded to build?" (Huh?)

And there were no ED servers announced on the day this update came out so it was extra confusing. And it doesn't say what happens in offline play anywhere. You guys seem to assume we attend your meetings or something.

This is a bit harsh - I had no problems interpreting what was meant although an explicit statement about SP would have helped.

Cows. With multiple hides. DCS is feature complete.

Dark Cockpit Simulator evolved into Digital Cow Simulator cheerilee.png

I'm also happy with the overall patch quality. I was a bit sceptical in the beginning, but it really seems to work out well.

Hmm, so the WW2 Damage Model is MP only right now, right? That should have been more strongly emphaised in the patch notes IMO.

Did you miss this?

"We are happy to announce the start of open beta tests of our new Damage Model for WWII aircraft on

Eagle Dynamics multiplayer servers. We will start today with fighters and then make the new bomber

damage model available on November 18th. To participate in these multiplayer tests, please join any

of the servers mentioned in the list here: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/englis...ers-are-active

The new damage model is based on accurate damage and destruction modelling of aircraft components

in relation to the location of internal elements in each aircraft - oil, air, hydraulic and cooling systems,

engine and propellor installation, throttle and CSU controls, flight controls including trim connectors,

and airframe main strength longerons, spars, and stringers. The new damage model system precisely

calculates hits to these internal aircraft systems as the projectile passes through the aircraft. This allows

us to accurately simulate the actual damage to the aircraft and the flight model. For example: damage to

the wing skin leads to a decrease in lift; damage to the spar leads to strength reduction, and potentially

wing snap at specific loads.

New visual effects have also been added to help interpret aircraft damage. A white, reddish vapour trail

indicates that the hydraulic system is damaged, and the size of the trail indicates the size of the leak.

A fine, brownish haze indicates that the oil system is damaged, and that the engine will probably soon

suffer oil starvation, engine overheating, and potentially fail. A bright white trail of steam indicates that

the radiator, or part of the cooling system, is damaged. The instantaneous evaporation of water during

the explosion of a water jacket will envelop the plane in a large cloud of steam for several seconds.

A fine white vapour trail is the typical sign of a fuel leak.

Combustion can also help to identify the damage source. A burning fuel leak gives off dense white/grey smoke,

and depending on the size and type of leak, it can eventually result in a fire. When the engine/airframe is engulfed

in flame, the smoke often turns black as it mixes with oil that burns with a much deeper and darker hue. Structures

made of aluminum, wood or fabric-covered surfaces can also combust based on the corresponding type of projectile.

Such smaller fires are not immediately visible, but you can identify the smoldering of elements by the thin streams of

dense smoke trailing behind the aircraft.

Additional information can be gained from visual damage. Despite the fact that current computers can’t dynamically

bend construction and tear fuselage and wings, our Visualization System is a good indicator of the level of aircraft

damage. The system works as follows:

- We have 4 levels of ‘damage textures’ for each aircraft: from 0 - no damage to 3 - max damage.

- First bullet hits result in the 1st level with small damage visible. This allows players to see some damage from

the first hits.

- With further damage, the 2nd and 3rd level textures will appear.

Experienced pilots can check all the damage levels within the Model Viewer for a better understanding of what to

expect from the holes in the airframe.

Please note that the damage system doesn't register any damage for the first 30 seco"

Hi Everyone.

Quick update for you regarding my issue with offline mode, after being offline with the fallback mode, came back on the forum and saw Bigneweys post glad its not a problem, so I fired up the sim again and offline working as normal, only thing I can think of was update working through servers as I noticed the Multiplayer wasnt loading either, before I tried Offline originally, so I will wait a bit longer next time to let the updates circulate. Thanks for prompt response.

I see alot of white dots air and ground instead of black ones during daytime, guess the night fixes broke other stuff.

I have reported it, thanks

Its clear in the log, I will make it bold if it helps

thanks

Sorry, but that looked to me like "it's also on the official servers" not strongly indicating it only is there.

But that's okay I'm not upset or anything, it's just low effort comments, kinda the level I'm at this time around here due to very busy stuff, I don't even have DCS installed yet (due to busy/hiatus/PC upgrade still ongoing, getting close!)

Would it be too rude or to much, to aks ED to please explain what they were doing modifying the Phoenix API. There is no ED module that deals with it... I mean what were they trying to "fix" or implement?

Lately it seems that they go out of their way to just brake stuff ;)

I know its NOT the case, an I know this things happen, But it really seems ODD...

and not even mention it to their Partners.. its at lest Dumb...

A nice line just saying how that happened would be really nice ;)

Started up yesterday fine. Had an MS update and now it does not. I get a nice little note sayin that "DCS has crashed. Allow to gather additional debug info using dxdiag.exe". How long does that take or is this some hack?

Awesome update!! Love the new A10 gun sounds inside cockpit as well outside; now you need to do the vibration of the gun in the seat and I will feel like I'm in it.

It is mean of the development branch of the software product that is suppose to be broken here and then for the testers. The untested code gets pushed to Open Beta so that bugs can be found for new features, new fixes, new methods and ideas, and when code changes are tested and found working, then the code is pushed to the production environment product, the Stable Branch. And that is where people should be who can't withstand things getting broken.

The patch fixed the white dot bug for night time missions, but it also introduced the same bug for daylight missions.

I like the white dots on day missions.

Yes we have had some feedback for it, and some against, at the moment we are discussing it with the team.

thank you

Indeed, perhaps it may be possible to only have the white dots for airplanes that receive direct sunlight..

speaking of spotting, shouldn't ships have long white wakes?

Depends on factors like speed and sea condition. But it can be improved of course - same as units' light reflections.
