No, you enlisted to it. It's called an Open Beta.

If you want less trouble, use ST or opt out from Open Beta.

I'm using ST and I have the same long load times, but perhaps it is just a tad faster than Beta but not by much.

And not use the new aircraft I just purchased?

yes alas lots of changes which are only tested to a point are made to open beta ... we are functionally testers in Open Beta, lots of people forget that ...

Still your choice.
My computer is 10, yes 10 years old, and I also see an itsy bitsy tiny longer load time. Seems to be when loading encrypted files. (Before I added DCS to the AV exclusion list, it took two minutes just to load the F-14).
So no, I don't understand why you guys complain about minutes lost during your day. Get a faster car.
ED's on it and this will be fixed.
Cheers!

I just came here to say this too. After the latest patch the load times are absolutely horrid! Please undo whatever it is that you did ED. Yikes.

Wild guess, and probably wrong, but could it be they changed something about the IC-process with all the "abuse" lately? Changed it in a way that the checks are now done prior to launching?

Took a few months off.  Game loaded pretty fast before.  Now, however, opening from desktop takes 3x longer.  Once the game is loaded it's not too bad, but the initial load is very long now.

I really hope you are wrong. But i also fear this is the new normal now because no news and no hotfix after more than a week.

The patch that introduced this was quite small with only a few fixes. Can't imagine it takes so long to figure out what went wrong.

I can't imagine if it were tested,  it was allowed to go through.

Having long ago excluded DCS from scans, I can say the startup times have been horrendous since the last patch and everyone else I play with online has had the same experience.

I stopped using the sim since the last patch came out, very long loading times. I did a clean install but the problem is not solved. In addition to the extremely long loading, the sim often freezes during execution.

This issue is discussed here:

It seems that these newly introduced freezes can be avoided by disabling Intel Hyperthreading, as a temporary workaround. The freeze issue is reported.

There are now additional full game breaking bugs that I won't discuss here that will de-rail the thread further

Hi,

My loading times increased dramatically since the last update to version 2.8.6.41363.  Today I timed the loading from pressing the DCS icon till the main menu.

It took 6 minutes and 18 seconds.

Trying to do the long repair now.  Hopefully something will be found and fixed.

AMD 7950X3D, RTX 3090, 64 GB RAM @ 6000, Pimax Crystal, Pimax XR runtime v 0.4.0

Update:  Despite the long repair, the loading time seems to get worse.  After the repair the loading time from clicking on the DCS icon to get to the main menu increased to 6 minutes and 35 seconds.

HOWEVER after rebooting my computer after the repair, the loading time appeared to be normal again!

Mine is taking up to 5 minutes loading from an M.2 NVME drive. There's not even a logo or splash screen for the first few minutes of startup so I never know if the .exe even launched or not until the logo screen finally appears.

Also for me the loading times are very very long. We have to hope that the problem will be fixed soon.

clearing, both the DCS and Nvidia shader cache (after a load to allow the shaders to rebuild)  ... seems to have dropped my MT load to about 90 seconds ... still longer than i would like but an improvement

i tried these steps. unfortunately there is no improvement. i get about 3 minutes from start of log to main menu. the mission loading once DCS is open does not appear to be slow. nor does the sim exhibit and lag etc.

130 seconds load time into main menu.

Two Samsung 990 Pro. One for OS and one for DCS.

Ryzen 7800X3d with 64GB DDR5 6000

RTX 3090

This system was at least twice as fast loading into the main menu before the patch. Mission loading times seem the same as before though. These are some of the fastest SSD drives and RAM available in this computer, so I don't think it's a hardware issue.
