Todays Changelog includes an update for the RB SA map. Is that a generell ED thing or is it an update from RB?

Oh edit: sorry for asking here but i'm just curious if RB is providing updates again (even though it's just a small one).

Yes that‘s right but did you read the last „couple of pages“ of this thread? As soon as someone says anything about this there are at least 3 or 4 „experts“ yelling that this would take decades if it is even possible at all to take over foreign code and continue the work on the module.

I´ve read somewhere on the RB discord, that the most complex stuff for the mudhen (what they needed the "inreplacable" devs for) is already done (i.e. FM) or just needs very few not too complex features added (i.e. Radar). The missing systems are still a lot of work, but not nearly as complex to code as what has already been done. The rest is adding weapon systems, bugfixing and maintenance. That´s just what i´ve read and ´m not an expert on the topic, but at least it doesen´t sound like "impossible to do"...

It just looks like some minor changes that are similar to those made for Kola Map. They may have been done and submmited to ED for release time ago.

Yup same here...

Neither of them will get another penny, until this is resolved.

I don't care if Razbam and ED will get along in the future, i just want to know what's going to happen with the modules i own. Will they ever be supported again or not. If not, then i want an offer to have the modules refunded and removed from my account.

People can have different opinions about this of course, but i'll pass for being used as a tool, to resolve disputes between ED and Razbam

Some of you guys here on the forums seem to be well trained to always see the worst scenario possible...

Is pessimism en vouge again?!

Stop buying new module from ED until RAZBAM F-15E updates are available !!!

I wouldn't starve other dev's, for example the F4 has been released in an amazing state, something for everyone to consider really in terms of other dev's.  That said i agree with the sentiment to some extent especially when ED's next module is a logistics chopper without the logistics infastructure inplace for the module.

I think the reality is most people are looking for an update, and i think they are well within their rights to wonder if the current EA state is going to be its final position.  As the week's go on i do wonder if these are going to be added to the Hawk heritage hanger lol.

We need to create a DATABASE.  Which version of DCS is the best version for playing certain older modules that may or not be supported in the future.  So we can roll back DCS to play those modules.

Last I checked, we still have it and it still loads and works, in early access state of course.

Actually, that's exactly what you did pay for.

You may have had the expectations of a fully working module, but we are all well versed with the 'early access' caveats.  If you want a finished product, wait until it is finished before spending your money.

Not how it should be perhaps, but this is the reality of software these days.

it's a great aircraft, no question!

But absolute statements like this are of course illegitimate. Best for what? Best for whom? There are so many great Aircraft in DCS (including those from Razbam). Lots of them are very capable in many scenarios, others are more "one-trick-pony" but may be perfect for some users.

I don't know - statements like this (even if hyperbolic just for emphasis) irritate me. Be open to different experiences in different aircrafts....🤗

F-14 and F-4 are still EA. All of the above have some bugs and non-functional parts. It's just a matter of how they affect your play and what you expect of them. There's no best aircraft in DCS nor IRL.

On the one hand I understand what you are saying, on the other hand I would not want a version for any particular airplanes and in general the tendency that the purchased airplane will not work.

Buying airplanes I assumed that even if there will be slow development, there will definitely be maintenance. I think that if RAZBAM wants to save face, it would be right that their airplanes work in all future versions - we paid for support in the first place. Their disagreements with ED are not a user issue.

Maybe, maybe not. But after the VEAO Hawk debacle, ED has gone out of their way to assure customers that steps had been taken to prevent it from happening in the future. I can't imagine the blowback if that turns out to not be true.

Let's hope we don't have to find out.

Edit: I never got the impression from ED that there's a commitment to continue development, but rather just to keep it working with new updates.

The way I understood it at the time of the Hawk was not that ED would continue development of  a module - and this is how I see this particular episode possibly playing out according to that - but that an abandoned module could be updated as patches change the sim, so that it could continue to be used as the sim progresses.

In other words, if it gets broken by a patch, they could try and fix it - not that they will continue to develop an EA module.

*PS - just want to say I'm a neutral observer - have older RB products but not the F-15E.
