Honestly, I'd say leave the archive once it's over and lock it. That way you have something to point to the next time something like this situation pops up. Obviously, I hope it NEVER happens again with any third party dev, but I think anyone would be incredibly naive to believe it never will. If it happens again, you can just point to that archive and show people how it was handled in the past, how people took it, and then hopefully people will understand and not create a million threads asking what will happen next.

I think it's silly to take RB or ED's side, and who is to blame, well if that hasn't been resolved it's for a reason and it speaks for itself, but I think we are all to blame as a community for not demanding that both sides reach an agreement, for not taking any action to pressure them, the ones really affected by all this has been the DCS community.

One day, in the future a group of college students somewhere will learn about this case, and that will prepare them for a future in IP/patent/trademark/etc cases in the international court system or supporting a future client.

If I am still alive, I will read the case in a textbook or law review and chuckle, remembering the thousands of posts that I have read.   I predict 10-15 years that will happen, maybe or maybe not.

I am not a flamer or intend to start a ruckus so I will go back to the shadows and see you all around.   Keep flying everyone to keep the passion and support alive in us all.

I mean, if enough pressure was put on either side, it could force a phone call to their respective lawyers telling them to basically cave to the demands of the other. BUT... there's not enough on either side that can this can happen. Honestly, if anything is going to force anyone to cave, it's going to be the lack of income for RB. None of the other third parties are on their side, and I think their relationship with Microsoft was also strained by this fiasco (someone in this thread mentioned it, but I forget who). So odds are better than zero that the longer this goes on, the more likely RB will be willing to hammer out a deal if it means staying afloat.

ED on the other hand has its own maps and planes, plus all the other third parties still pumping out new planes and maps. On top of that Nick has the money coming in from The Fighter Collection and other ventures he can use to keep Eagle Dynamics high and dry.

Learn to read with comprehension. The ED team clearly described the situation and presented their position. How many times do they have to write about the same thing over and over again.

I consciously bought, as it turned out, an hour before it was removed, an RB product. Now I will learn it, enjoy flying and hope that I will be able to enjoy it for a long time.

You never thought that 1 party might be wrong and 1 right, therefore, pressuring both into a solution would result in 1 of them getting screwed by 'the public' for their own selfish reasons?

Thats what I thought too. Does Heatblur not deserve some love? Their F4 is pretty awesome. Blows my mind that ppl cant see Razbam for what they've always been: talented victims.

I'm not native english speaker so maybe I've misunderstood the meaning, but they are not "victims".

If "victim" is a proper attribute for RB, so also "scammer" is.

Once there was the hawk debacle, and DCS lost one aircraft.

Now there's the RB dedacle, and DCS is loosing 4 aircrafts.

I can't see a victim in this stuff, unless you mean DCS community, so I agree: we are victims.

Having purchased razbams stuff for the better part of 2 decades - and having dealt with Zambrano more than once - I can tell you that its ALWAYS someone elses fault. Id point at my references too, but Razbams forums have been scrubbed of their FSX stuff years ago. Wonder why....
