VanjaB Posted December 6, 2013 Share Posted December 6, 2013 RIP Nelson Mandela I actually had the pleasure of meeting Nelson Mandela in person, I was still a kid playing in a school band at some reception or fundraiser dinner cant remember what it was for. This was back when I used to live in Cape Town. Suddenly the whole place was on its feet clapping and cheering and this really well dressed friendly old man danced into the room. I shit you not he was dancing and greeting people along the way. Me and the other kids were kind of in shock, as were most of the adults in the place. He worked the room for about 15 minutes and left, I managed to shake his hand. Unbelievable charisma. The guy was electric. He truly was a great man, its a shame he wasnt a better politician.
