Has nothing to do with interest, and also is not a maybe. We will do a Navy variant, as we said.8 points

I gotta ask, why do you make it a point to crap on the variants we are getting every time you speak here? Pretty sure everyone who checks the threads here have seen your complaining at the very least once. We get it, you're salty.4 points

Having to choose between taking a full DITER rack of JDAMS or sidewinders is part of the constraints of AV-8B operation, IRL, and now in DCS. If you are unhappy that such a fix would happen at this stage of the module's life, I'm with you, it would've been better if we had done it right on release. Plot twist we didn't. Am I supposed to let other bugs and inaccuracies in because some among the userbase grew used to them ? If given the choice between pleasing some and having the Harrier to have realistic specs, you know what I'll choose. Our end goal is to have the Harrier as realistic as we can. It'll take time, but we'll get there.4 points

Yes, our apologies, the last two weeks unfortunately exploded in development tasks, which pushed the updates back a bit. We hope to get it out this week. Thank you for your very kind patience.3 points

Mit der Aussage wäre ich mal vorsichtig. Besser du würdest schreiben das sie für dich in VR unbrauchbar ist.3 points

Dear @BIGNEWY, it turned out that maybe all my bad experience related to the mindless following of the MT FAQ which says "Currently, users with more than 32 threads should disable HT/SMT, but for everyone else we recommend enabling HT/SMT." For me (10700k) enabling hyperthreading caused massive stutter and worse performance than the ST version, while switching off hyperthreaing solved these kind of problems. Maybe you should correct this FAQ item because it's not true for VR at the moment! Thanks.3 points

Hey man, I hope things are coming along for you and your team. Can't wait to see more of this aircraft over the Persian Gulf.3 points

APKWS triggers missile warning systems in aircraft that have them (A-10, AH64, KA-50-3, JF17, etc), however the unguided hydra rockets do not. MWS work by using cameras to detect the missile launch. APKWS and Hydra rockets have the same rocket motor. So it would be reasonable to assume that either they're both detected or they are both not detected as missiles on the various MWS.2 points

All are focused on multi-threading, while the APACHE flight model has significantly improved. Since this is probably only of interest to helicopter enthusiasts, this has been completely lost in the update log with all the new electronic bells and whistles. It was worth waiting for this video on the mobility of the AH-64 because the update now finally provides fun in the pilot's seat and changes a lot. FOLLOW-UP I don't know how official the claim is that there was no change in the flight model of the Apache. But if you compare video 2 before the update with video 3 after the update, you can see and hear the differences quite clearly. So can it be that it is only due to MT? Yes, it can be. Helicopters in DCS are, unfortunately, a battle of materials. The better and, unfortunately, therefore, more expensive your hardware, the easier it is to fly. This is also true for the processor. But it doesn't matter what the reason is. The Apache has significantly changed for me with the last update to the positive. But still not my 1st choice.2 points

Hello all, reporting some behaviour I've noticed following the latest update, I will keep it brief: when we have an uncorrelated (hollow) Hostile Link16 track and we spot it with the radar, it turns into a Suspect track (yellow filled). At first glance this does not look like correct behavior, as the FCR has no say in determining ROE and no reason to change it from Hostile to Suspect. No IFF was involved here, just the mere painting of the target with the radar turns it into a Suspect. I'm sure many would appreciate if this could be taken a look at, if it's a bug, or WIP. Thanks and have a nice week ROEchange.trk2 points

Also, I believe TL is the only mode that is working right now so make sure you go to TL directly from normal scan or things won't work.2 points

Yep, that's a known limitation. DCS/CA doesn't like the guidance type used with the Pantsir missiles. Not much I can do at the moment, unfortunately.2 points

MV 22 Osprey: Hi guys. Would you be able to produce a static folded version of the Osprey, using the same skins etc. I want to be able to park a heap of them along the edge of the flight deck, all folded, making best use of the space etc. I only need the folded edm really, I can do the rest myself I expect. All the very best to everyone. Eddie2 points

@currenthill I'm absolutely amazed at the quality of your mods, your skill at making them, and the speed at which you make them. I use your mods extensively in my missions and scenarios now. I will be "that guy" and ask "that question." Have you given any thought to trying to tackle a modernized Iowa or the Spruance? I've seen others try to get a modernized Iowa in-game and the currently available Spruance doesn't work in the later versions of the game. It seems like if anyone can do it, you can. I completely understand if that is not something you want to touch with a 39 1/2 foot pole, but the thought did cross my mind. In any case, these mods are fantastic. Keep up the good work.2 points

I'm not sure if the ED will help with the mods. More precisely, I'm sure that they won't) But the mods are awesome. ED could integrate into DCS with the kind permission of the creator2 points

Thanks a lot! Something is wrong with WW2 AI. They cannot see anything. When I give the 'engage' command to my own flight, they reply 'unable' even when the enemy is 1 mile away. This is a core DCS bug though.2 points

Thanks for clarifying. So to confirm - there's no evidence that it's definitely infected - you're just trusting your antivirus software is correct & assuming that because ESET & AVG is detecting correctly and that every file it detects as being infected is 100% infected. (AKA - ESET haven't responded to your submission and confirmed 100% that it is infected)? Because there are such things as 'false positives'. These are when antivirus software running certain algorithms detect a file as being infected when it is not infected - just that it has similar patterns to an infection. I've build applications myself in the past that have flagged as being infected when they have not been - just that something in the compiled code is seen a certain way by antivirus software. So when you say "it is infected with this trojan", that may not be the case. It 'appears to be infected' would be more correct. I'm strongly suspicious that this is a 'false positive'. That it's not truly infected with a virus, but just flagging as being. Of course - I can't say 100% for sure, but from what I've witnessed in the past - that's probably more likely than not. It would be helpful if we could get the MD5 hash for this file off ED so we can compare what we have with the version they're creating to know that the file hasn't been altered in any way for more clarity. About all we can do is submit the file for analysis to ESET & AVG and for them to determine if it is or isn't truly infected, and update their database & algorithms accordingly and wait for that update, or if the file is truly infected (and not just a false positive)- for ED to replace it on their update server.2 points

I would be excited with the F-4E if it featured the upgrades making it a deadly resource in the skies of the 1990s and mid-2000s, such as the Greek and German variants. The Japanese actually have a very fascinating relationship with their Phantoms, and would be right at home on the Marianas map. The Turkish Terminator is a really awesome aircraft as well, and we already have 2 maps with Turkey in them. Alas, no we aren't getting those... just a couple of bland F-4Es and maybe if there's still interest we will see DCS Phantom return to carrier decks.2 points
-
Can you please clarify: Are you saying that the file is definitely infected with a trojan, or just that it's detecting it as being infected but could still be a false positive?2 points

Problem solved: Apparently Citrix disrupts the function of SImApp Pro (and a bunch of other things). I had it installed for work, and it was interfering. Once removed, it works like a charm. Will also notify WW CS so they know.2 points

well said, the intention of this post is not to beat you over it, but to offer a correction of course for future modules to avoid this situation. hopefully you have taken it for what it is. I would hate to see a repeat of this type of history on something else we have been waiting for like the F 15E I have pre-purchased. take all the time to get the weapon loadout right, because it will make for a better, more accurate product we can all be happy with, not more wishful hindsight. If its worth doing right at all, do it right the first time.2 points

It would be a fun mod sure... But I think you just summoned everyone, whos currently on a "modern technology is no dogfighting" spree so I guess good luck? Joke aside I think people will mod the module to resemble more modern versions of the F-4 it's just currently not a really popular opinion in this forum...2 points

Unsourced text, claims that 'pilots said' and feelings are worthless. Even so, the text above has a maximum detection range of 105km (~57nm), and that's for a very specific radar mode and hardware which IIRC the 68V5 (the one modeled in DCS - it's good to know these details before you start such discussions) does not possess. I don't even recall where this graph comes from, but it is the basic reason why they write 'V9 offers 30% range increase' (over the V5, but they don't write that). USAF Vipers in 2007 (the ones DCS modeled in-game) use the V5. The other non-factual statement you made (while claiming it as fact) is that ED did something to the F-16 radar because F-18 fans complained. This is incorrect. The F-16 radar was changed because it was over-modeled, presenting capability similar to an AN/APG-63 or AWG-9, which neither the F-16 or F-18 should some close to matching. PS: For even more fun, APG-66 with flight test results from some random internet source.2 points

Ok. Well DCS isn't real life. RWR needs to work for DCS balance to exist, given what our aircraft modules can and can't do. I'm sure IRL fifth gen fighters have ways to deal with "silent" missile systems like the S400, but we don't have those in DCS. Can we please not try to rationalize the RWR bug by bringing in real world arguments that have absolutely 0% to do with DCS?2 points

Hello dear friends. We are still doing the latest testing and improvements to the Sinai map for early access. I think that these will be the last screenshots before early access, it is impossible to convey in screenshots huge amount of work done. Thank you all again for your support and feedback - it really helps to move forward and make the map even better!2 points

For Star Citizen to stop making money, Roberts would probably have to announce all proceeds will be going directly to Putin's war chest. And even then, some desperate hangers-on would probably remain. At this point, SC is a phenomenon that can't be explained in regular economic terms and can't be expected to apply to anything else. The only thing I can compare it to is Apple, particularly back when they were backed up by Steve Jobs' charisma.2 points

The ASP is wrong in a lot of ways. I could go into detail but you really have to have your eyes shut to not notice the errors. Be careful as there are multiple variants of ASP-PFD-21 (mk 1, mk 2, mk 3, mk 4, maybe more) with small differences. The SAU is mostly missing one of its biggest features: stabilize. You should be able to fire 1 AA missile and take your hand off the stick and not roll. There are some minor errors with the radar and a few other things which aren't attempted (variable ECM mode, how chaff rejection works). In my comparison of supersonic acceleration to documented values the DCS version outperformed by a factor of 3 (100s what the book says takes 300s). But I don't think mirror removal is a reasonable request. It's part of the airplane just like the left wing is. There is no removing the mirror just like there is no removing the left wing. The mirror can be flipped down though so you can do your makeup. The housing is fixed though.2 points

The norm for translations into Russian is 2000-3000 words per day so you can estimate when that could be done. And that's assuming it would ever be done seeing how third-party devs tend not to bother with Russian manuals for non-Russian aircraft (while ED makes Russian manuals for all their modules).1 point
