  13. @Elo, Your panels looks sweet man! The canopy bow was a bit of a pain in the ass tbh. The main part of the bow is two panels, laminated with spacers made from spare ply in-between. I then skinned it with 3mm MDF. I'll shoot you some better shots of it when I get home. The front section is both an upper and a lower glued together. I then cut two spare strips of 3mm MDF off and then skined the beveled edge on the outside. Good luck with the qualifying exam mother goose, I'm sure you will crush it.

  14. Hey Guys, Thanks for the feedback. As mentioned after my next release I will be working backward to correct a a few issues with some of the AI Ship mods. To include FPS drop on the USS Oak Hill, Blue Ridge, and San Antonio. I will add Allure and CPL Shipping to the list plus many others. It's known that the FPS drop is due to the Collision model created for the USS Oak Hill which I will replace. My Shipyard will be busy. I forgot to mention. Thank you, Flag02004 for sharing the wake files with the community. I really appreciate it. I've found the wake files don't look good on the smaller Corvette size vessels. Project 205 Moskit OSA 1 and OSA 2 are next to be released. Still a WIP!

  23. Maybe wait and actually see for yourself how DLSS is implemented in DCS and what the pros and cons are, instead of working yourself up prematurely and unnecessarily? And, just btw, you don’t need to use it, you know. DLSS is an optional feature.

  24. Well, I struck gold. Now I should be able to see what ED did wrong and how to fix it:

  25. While beauty truly lies in the eye of the beholder, especially in memorials, that object is called "Battle of Ismailia Memorial", and is marked "Ismailia Memorial' on the tourist map. Historically, it honors the fallen from one of the battles during the later stages of the Yom Kippur War in October 1973 that took place on the west bank of the Suez Canal. The object itself is is a gift from North Korea to the people of Egypt, which may account for the somewhat overbearing, if not outright corny, visual style. I find it great that OnReTech go the extra mile to include these landmarks, IMHO it's what differentiates a great map from a merely good one.

27. I find it always remarkable how negative reviews are seen as 'brutal honest' and positive reviews seen as 'oh well, free product of course'. Why don't I see such negative experiences here on flightsim forums from simmers that actually use them. I mean, 2 sets of the same product and they both fail soo bad. I myself own a Crystal. And yes, I use the Apache head strap and it makes the headset really comfortable to wear. The same head strap I used for wearing the Valve Index for exactly the same reason, comfort. It took me some time to find the sweetspot with the Crystal as it also took with the Index. And no, I don't have the physical condition of a real fighter pilot. But to experience the same problems as in the video? From day one, buying, shipping, installing and updating all went smooth. Followed the Pimax instructions as you do with any other device and I did not get any problem. Do I have remarks about the Crystal. You bet. The software still needs developing. For example, to control the base station so I can switch it to standby when I stop in VR. If you used the Index you will know that you can control this in SteamVR. I want the same option in the Crystal. And yes, I hope that the capacity of customer service will grow. Because they are more then helpful enough but it is not ask & answer in 5 minutes….. If you don't like Pimax and or the Crystal, fair enough. Everybody has his/her opinion. But when it, in my opinion, develops into 'bashing' it has nothing to do anymore in being honest but just being biased. So far, Pimax is delivering what they promised. Not all ready from day one but it is coming. Before you call me a ‘fanboy’, read my other post about my findings with the Crystal and Pimax. Enjoy your headset and VR whatever make it is.

  28. Yeah, just guessing that radio jamming will be the most disabled feature of MP servers of all time. edit: or it will create a new game mode: "Hunt the jammer"

  29. ^^^ I can only imagine the bug reports and general outcry from the MP community if comms jamming becomes a thing. "We want realism!!!", wait, not that much realism. It would be nice to have a loitering AI EC-130 just ruining everyone's day though...

  30. There's a war memorial N 30 34' 53", E 32 18' 39" big old AK-47 Bayonet on the muzzle of an AK sticking out of the ground. Wouldn't have seen it except for the slow flight in a Helo.

  31. CH, any plan to add more US navy Ships? I would really love the Constellation class. Furthermore, do you plan to add the Tomahawk Block 5 with anti ship capability? It would also be interesting to see the AGM-179 JAGM which can be quadpacked into the MK41 (as shown below) which would be useful for targets like Boghammers. Overall I love your current ships and cannot wait to see the collection expand.

  32. As far as I know the map is not complete. There will still be two more phases. Currently the map needs a lot of improvements and if it isn't finished I wouldn't buy another map from them.

  34. They need to start somewhere, don’t they? Nobody foreclosed the possibility of adding FSR too at some point. That is exactly what I meant by appreciating what you get instead of worrying what you don’t. Half-empty vs. half-full I guess.

  35. I'd like to add to the wish list a version of the Mi8 with the dolphin nose (or whatever it's called) and the ramp door at the rear. It seems like these have been customer options for both domestic Mi8 and export Mi17s, and not necessarily tied to any particular variant of Mi8. So hopefully it could be a visual update to the model, not necessarily requiring any other changes to the variant that we have. Internal cockpit differences might be minimal. Instrument panels could remain as is, as real life mi8s with the nose seem to have simple top cover to span the gap between the two instrument pods. Other than that, blanking out the lower greenhouse windows or covering them with a panel might be all that's needed! I'd even buy a extra mi8 if this came to reality I'd be willing to bet this could give sales a second life as well. So, how about it DCS??? Pretty please??? null edit: new pics for inspiration (and to replace broken links)

  36. Thank you for everything that you do! Also, some photos of the B-21 were published earlier this month. I'll consider making a livery with these new markings when I have time.

  37. The Liveries graphics are not easily editable, as they are optimized for use within the Sim, where they have to be aplied to the aircraft multiple times per second. In contrast, a Template is an editable graphics file, which you can edit as you see fit .. on this particular case they are Adobe Photoshop files, which you can also edit with other graphics softwares besides Photoshop. Correct, when you edit a livery, most of the texture files remain unchanged: textures for damaged parts, decals, transparencies, bump maps, interior textures, etc. So, a custom livery cames with just the textures that have been edited ... all the rest are taken from the default livery of the aircraft. For the B-17, the default textures are inside this ZIP file: The description.lua file is the one that tells DCS which textures have been edited by the livery creator, with that field true/false. Think of this field as the game asking the question, "Should I use the default file?", so true = use the default, false = use the new moded file. Please note that I'm not a skin creator, so I'm not able to help with the photoshop part of creating a livery, but I do understand how the liveries are used by DCS

  39. Good shout, I still read conflicting ways to sort them. FWIW Personally, I do as I think Rudel or MaxSenna told me to and put them in the Saved Games folder. Your ‘Option 2’. Those B-17 skins are a real treat eh.

  41. That‘s what led me to believe that it is the friction on tarmac that is the root cause of the issue. But in the end we all agree that braking is an issue.

  42. The two most noticable points atm would be more control over how and if a missile goes active (allowing us to correctly do AIM-54C SARH) and better control over the guidance logic. We believe we're close in regards to actual aerodynamic and motor performance but guidance is still somewhat lacking. Having more control over the guidance logic or getting help to tune it would, imho, be the way ahead for more realism. But I also know that's an ongoing discussion with ED. Apart from that being able to launch the missile at a selected point in space instead of being locked to actual targets would also increase accuracy as to how the missile should behave but I'd say it's a lower prio and likely harder to achieve.

  45. Hello can u make a assets mod for the Singapore Military! I am especially interested in seeing the Formidable Class Frigates and Victory Class Corvettes in DCS. There are also AFVs and APCs like the Bionix and Hunter AFVs and the Terrex APCs. Will be excited to see those in DCS.

  46. I wonder if there’s any movement on this issue. Is it investigated, is it on a to do list? Internally fixed mayhaps?
    2 points
  47. Agreed. I've always heard DCS was better with Nvidia and that most DCS flyers are Nvidia users, so it makes sense to start improvements in that direction. That's why I upgraded to a 4070. DCS was my only concern when looking at a new card. And honestly, this endless talk about "splitting the community" is tiresome. If we want 100% equality in all things, we'll have to play DCS on an Xbox. And that would be gross.
