Hey Flyingscotsmans, thanks i appreciate it. I'm happy to know most of you are still interested in my AI DCS Ship mods I put out. the Iranian warship doesn't have any surface-to-air missiles but if get close enough the guns will take you out. She's a sitting duck when it comes to anti-ship missiles. So progress on the Italian Frigate is coming along well. However, it has come to my immediate attention that the USS Forrestal Battle Group has a lack of Warships to defend her. I will fix that. First up will be the USS Virginia Class. I will work on her as I'm working on the other mods. She will be released in the immediate future.12 points

Overview (SCREENSHOTS ARE OUTDATED) The F-18C MPD Modernization Mod brings a fresh and contemporary feel to the cockpit for the classic F-18C Hornet. By updating the displays and symbology, this mod enhances situational awareness, readability, and overall usability. Basically - Mom: "We have a SuperHornet at home!" Modern MPD - demonstrating color separation to process information easily. Features White Symbology The monochromatic green symbology of the original F-18C MPD has been replaced with clean and crisp white symbology. This change improves contrast and readability Colored SA/Radar Situational awareness is paramount in combat scenarios. With this mod, the situational awareness pages (such as the SA page) now feature color-coded elements: Friendly units: Members display in blue. Surveillance donated friendlies appear in green. Hostile units: Red. Neutral or unknown units: Shown in yellow. The radar display also benefits from color enhancements, making it easier to differentiate between contacts. Colored HSI (Horizontal Situation Indicator) The HSI, a critical navigation instrument, now boasts a colorful presentation. Your aircraft is shown in distinct blue and waypoints are in white/purple sequences to help contrast with the digital map. I see green and blue on my SA/RDR/AZEL page and they are friendly. What do they mean? A. This is just a placeholder for the incoming IFF system. Currently its modded where friendlies from surveillance donors (AWACS, Ground Radar) are blue, while fighter to fighter data link shows up as green. Since the game automatically links everyone together, you'll see mostly green. In the end, anything that's not red is fwend. Q. Were those really your frequently asked questions? A. Option to customize HSI Compass color. - F18C Modern MPD. Known Bugs JHMCS II: There is a bug that causes blur to elements that are behind your cockpit frame. This is a known bug that affects the A10C II Scorpion HMD and was reported a while ago but still no fix. You can use TAZ NVG mod to counteract this issue. However, it will break Pure Client Integrity check. -Fixed in V2.1.37 Changelog v.2.1.54 Step cursor box, RWR sensor, TDC Cursor and Mach/Alt were missing outline and looked fuzzy/thick in the AMPCD SA Page. - fixed. v2.1.53 Changed ownship color to white. Честно говоря, вижу много сообщений о трудностях управления Апачем и искренне не понимаю. На мой взгляд он управляется легко, на втором месте после Ка-50, легче всех остальных наших вертолётов. Или это просто сказывается мой опыт, но никаких трудностей я не испытываю. Трудности возникают с ним только когда пытаешься заставить его холды держать ровные режимы длительное время. При ручном управлении вообще никаких проблем нет. Засомневавшись, я даже полез проверять в настройках не включена ли упрощённая динамика, но у нас нет упрощённой динамики для Апача.6 points

@andyc Hi, I am just a normal user like you guys, just happen to spend time looking at the scripts and making changes for myself, later got the approval of Max to publish them. I've got another update coming, based on feedback from an irl Goshawk instructor. (Just switch positions for the cold start etc.) Regarding the suspension script changes, I haven't used it, and my scripts didn't incorporate it, basically because I don't understand the changes and didn't want to force anyone using my script changes to have the changed suspension. There is a smoke pod addition you can install, and there is also a Swiss Hawk skin of you are looking. I'll post a link in a second here when I've found it. If you want to add your own kneeboard images, put them in Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Kneeboard\T-45 (or the non-beta equivalent). They do fly low...but are so loud there's no trouble getting out with a camera before they fly over. Had a Crashhawk circle once, my guess is because I more or less appeared out of nowhere with a BFL pointed at him. Guy on the left's face was visible, so I Gimped it out by copying the masked man on the right.5 points

No, DCS offers no logistics short of an ETA model on shipment of weapons from one warehouse to another that you control by a speed setting in the ME. Helos can pick up and move a handful of objects via sling, but that's not really logistics, as it isn't inventory, it's just an object with a weight set in the ME (yes, you can make the slingable objects whatever weight you want; just be sure to check it when using them, as by default... they're insanely overweight). CTLD, a script from the community, is the only thing that makes this helo serve a purpose [as of, and up to, Spring 2024]. For the record; I'm not against it; I'm a fan of the Yak ... I wish I had a reason to fly it more (I wish it would be ... finished. It's literally the "most simple" module in the entire game, and despite being 6 years old now, is still Early Access.) Meanwhile, the CEii from Magnitude/Leather/whoever you want to call them, is also in EA nightmare with bugs left and right... I want to enjoy these modules; and I was massively looking forward to the A-29, but it seems that's no longer happening. The issue is DCS and ED and their third parties' ability to finish these modules; it doesn't seem anything is giving them a reason to actually "complete" them. The no-boom is boring in the case of the CH47 is that as it stands; DCS is offering a serious "war machine," but it's incapable of doing ... what it's capable of doing. Meanwhile they're talking about it being able to A2A refuel; and not a single picture shown off shows one with a refuel probe. About it being crewed by several people; and yet not a single mention of it being multicrew. The tease two years ago was a different model entirely. The tease video shows mods; and not even their own content, to make things even more confusing for the public. I'd love for this module to be what it should be in DCS; but, ED has yet to show us any of that. And yes, trust me, I love helos as much as the next person, and absolutely will buy the Kiowa; but only for two reasons: 1. It won't be EA. 2. It can serve a function in DCS outside of free roaming. Neat cockpit in this thing; but.. last neat cockpit from ED was the A10Cii, and it took 4 years for them to make a radio for that thing..... just saying. Is it likely to be better flight wise than any other version in other flight sims? Yes... most likely. But there's also no mention of normal things to expect in DCS; no mention of multicrew, no mention of what the FMS will even be capable of; since we're all well aware DCS has zero navaids; and a broken ILS system still at that. If, for you the reader, this is to "replace" a CH47 in other flight sims (or in place of said CH47s in other sims as you waited out for this one), just because it's near and dear to your heart though... I'm all for it; I can't wait to hear it flying around... because it is a wicked machine. But as far as DCS' ecosystem goes.... be extremely careful of where you're setting your expectations.4 points

Exactly. This is a flightsim first and foremost, I'd say 50% of my flight time is just for the fun of flying. No "Kaboom!" And the Chinook is going to be a blast to fly. As far as Huey books go, "Chickenhawk".4 points

Все вертолеты в игре могут красиво и стабильно летать, всё зависит от наработанных навыков в большей мере. Апач наиболее маневрен просто, поэтому в нем нужно осторожно и с пониманием настроить устройства под себя, подружиться с логикой автоматики, почитать просто прекрасное на данный момент руководство и полетать n часов, прежде чем лезть в сетевые битвы делать пиу-пиу (это он тоже умело делает со страшной результативностью). Если посмотреть, как люди в количествах на серверах летают на разных вертолетах, то водители Апачей немножко покрасивше это делают, в среднем. У Хьюи своя фишка - он существенно меняет балансировку на разных режимах, нужно активно триммировать его. Это, как я понимаю, из-за низких рабочих оборотов несущего винта. Зато у него нет стабилизаций и он прямо такой вертолётский вертолёт, приятный и хорошо подходящий в качестве первого хеликоптера классической схемы, с импортной стороной вращения несущего винта, к тому же.4 points

Hi, unfortunately we discovered a CTD when the F-8 of 0.4.0 and the RC for 0.4.1 is player controlled and starts from flight deck. A fix is being tested as I write, stay tuned for the 0.4.1 release some day next week. Thanks @Chap2012 for discovering the CTD! With great pleasure I've just tested a new 24 planes on the deck layout by @Beldin. Anyone up for an alpha strike? For now the 24 and 36 plane layouts will be optional for players, they are in the Database folder and can replace the standard runways and taxi script. Some care has to be taken when placing the planes with the 24 planes on deck layout: First 12 A-4s need to be placed to occupy the port side slots. Then 12 F-8s can be added. As the take-off script will abort when planes try to land, we recommend giving some waypoints farther out for all of the groups. Here some screens from today's testing! Cheers, TeTeT4 points

By the way, I made some update on your version of HDS, compatibility with last DCS version, merged with "S300Pack" mod and with new liveries (thanks to @Scoop). I'm still working on a real S-400 version (update from "S300Pack"), the original version had got almost the same capacity as the S-300VM or S-300V4.4 points

Is there any possibility of ED making a CH-47C, analog cockpit version... far down the road when a Vietnam Map might come out? I realize it would have much less powerful engines and less load capacity, as well as lacking other refinements of the F model.3 points

There are so many aircrafts that can be added as AI for modern era, if they are unavailable for us ad FF modules. So I wish ED would expand our selection of modern AI aircraft. To name the few on top of my head that would really contribute modern era: Rafale Gripen Eurofighter J-10 Superhornet Mirage 2000D J-15 Su-35 MiG-35 MiG-29K There are more to add to this list, it would make mission making much more interesting and the sim much more immersive so if you have for example Sweeden as your ally in modern era you don't have to use F-16 to make up for Gripen since Viggen is just not there in terms of AA. edit: added more aircraft3 points

О это распространенный крик души))) Вникайте в суть работы автоматики по линии хвостового ротора, критерии включения и отключения Heading Hold и Turn Coordination, которые работают в фоне и не имеют в кабине индикации включения. У него всё работает как надо в этом плане. Просто долго и не совсем в тему писать, но, поняв критерии, станет понятно как можно несколькими способами деактивировать HHold и уверенно направлять нос вертолета туда, куда нужно. Это тоже уже не так. Сейчас можно забыть включить удержание крена и тангажа (Attitude Hold) и потом с удивлением понять, что вертолёт шпарил ровно, как по рельсам, всё это время. Если правильно оттримироваться со сбросом диапазонов CAS и бросить управление на постоянной скорости.3 points

Чисто оп моим впечатлениям - хьюи проще, его только успевай триммировать. А вот апачище постоянно куда то стремится рвануть, причем как то сверх люто реагирует на РРПУ и педали, всмысле взаимосвязи. Все вертолёты с хвостовым винтом реагируют это понятно но апач, такое ощущение, что его вообще не испытывали, электроникой напичкан но летает как тряпка на ветру. По ощущениям Ми-8 и 24 просто рай по сравнению с ним.3 points

Yes there is, press LIST - M-SEL - RCL and you enter JHMCS page on the DED. First 2 lines are HUD BLNK and CKP BLNK, you can select and deselect them with M-SEL. HUD Blanking. Displayed in highlighted text when enabled using the 0/M-SEL button. When enabled, the HMCS will blank when the helmet LOS is within the boundaries of the HUD blanking area Cockpit Blanking. Displayed in highlighted text when enabled using the 0/M-SEL button. When enabled, the HMCS will blank when the helmet LOS is within the boundaries of the cockpit blanking area.3 points

Not to mention that in DCS all scenery also need a damage model (preferably even a few damage model variants). I can imagine all these extra variables can add to performance strain. (That other civvy sim has it easy, compared to what's needed for DCS )3 points

This is a bug reports thread and the C-101 is a mature module, so I guess it is a good sign that there is little activity on it I see items for the C-101 on the last DCS update: "DCS: C-101 Aviojet by AvioDev General: Rear pilot is now not present in the Mission Editor preview window (basically in payload dialog) when the 'Solo Flight' option is selected. 'Solo Flight' is now available for AI-controlled aircraft. Fixed C-101EB 'English' cockpit livery not being applied. Now with the 'Disable force feedback effects' option checked, force feedback joysticks (if any is connected) will always return a constant spring force. All FFB shake effects will be disabled as well. Communications: Added Voice Chat sound filters parameters for ARC-134, V/TVU-740, and VHF-20B radios presets." So, I guess they are still active If it is repeatable, save a track file and open a bug report thread. It's been a long while since I did the C-101 training and nowadays don't have time to run the training myself. Can't say much on this, my Thrustmaster works fine with it, maybe your VKB behaves different?3 points

You mean something like the Mi8? Literally the most produced transport helicopter in the entire world; that's been part of the DCS ecosystem for... a decade?ish? now? That seems very "chicken"-like to me, and it's been around for ages. Or how about the Mi24? What happened to all the transport capabilities of it (that it cannot do in DCS without userbase scripts). This is poor thought process; as just as we'd expect after ED releases this many helicopters; they'd bother looking at the ground AI from sniping helos out of the sky with their rifles. Guess what they haven't worked on? So now they're trying to sell yet another helicopter, except, it has no offensive weapons, as far as we know it won't have the ability to transport anything due to the lack of it in-game in the current format. On top of that, the remaining ground AI that will still shoot at you from behind a hillside.3 points

Fair enough. But on the same time I think this forum is the good place to share opinions so ED can knowhow we feel with new kind of offering. This is healthy relation to expres satisfaction and dissatisfaction from product or even fear is some of us feel something is odd with our beloved sim. On the same time I'm disappointed that instead of addressing concerns about announcement and product offering new practices, we are given warnings that "off topic" posts will be removed. I cannot imagine what is more "on topic" than questions about this "new offering".3 points

I investigated the issue with the very first training mission (C-101FA-Lesson-01-Start-Up-V4.miz) not proceeding when waiting for the throttle STOP position and it seems the problem is that the range of throttle argument was changed (or the mission changed, because it worked back in 2022). Originally, the step waits for X: COCKPIT ARGUMENT IN RANGE with ARGUMENT 5 and value min/max both -0.4. Argument is OK, as it is also used for the previous check of THROTTLE being completely advanced. I tried to lower the minus number (towards zero), but no luck, so I tried 0-0.1 (positive) and this worked. It does not trigger in the IDLE and correctly triggers in the STOP position. The fixed trigger: Ignore the time since flag condition, which I also changed, I wish all TIME SINCE FLAG were 1 (except when something really long is happening, e.g. engine revving up or so), so I can faster repeat the mission, it's more user-friendly.2 points

The Civilian Aircraft Mod, Military Aircraft Mod and Civilian Vehicle Mods add so much to DCS. However MOD support is problematic for most, especially on MP servers. Please add these types of units to DCS as a matter of urgency; so many mission types and COIN missions are impossible without male, female and children civilian animated NPC models for rescue, hostage etc. As are airliners for intercept or evacuation missions. Same with civilian cars and trucks, busses and taxis etc.2 points

Ну вот как то так... полёт на Ми 8 и 24 меня очень радует, ка 50 специфический но тоже нет проблем, а вот апач меня всё время держит в напряжении, даёшь шаг, его ведёт будто хвостовой винт оторвали, уменьшаешь, в обратную сторону то же самое, работаешь педалями - обороты прыгают будто хвостовой винт по размеру и нагрузке как несущий... адовая машина.2 points

nullAfter considerable testing and learning, managed to get an attack on Zuikaku with Avengers and SBDs going @Hawkeye60. Everything worked well enough. I did decrease the Zuikaku HP from 4000 to 2000. With that, it takes 8x 500lb bombs or 8 torpedoes to sink her. I've contemplated playing with triggers to allow for fire damage as some IJN carriers were sunk with just 2 bombs due to fires. nullnullnullnull2 points

It would be nice if the Pilot could nominate the Rwy he/she wants to use or at least the ILS he/she wants active. IRL you don't always land with a headwind, its nice to, but local rules etc sometimes dictate up to a certain TW is considered acceptable. Same goes for Runway lighting be really nice if the pilot could ask for Runway lights on regardless of time of day and also to nominate the runway he/she wants to use.2 points

Switches for the radios now work in the correct direction. 264 MHz and 305 MHz are automatically set on the radios (Bankler's Mission). COMM1 and COMM2 are automatically audible and on when you have a hot air or ground start. Parking brakes are set on ground by default. ADI is on MFDL and HSI is on MFDR by default on a hot start. Antiskid is on by default for a hot start. ILS is on and tuned to 110.30 Batumi ILS. TACAN is on and tuned to 72X. Data Page on either MFD is cleaned up and shows magnetic variation and QFF from the map. CDI for TACAN and VOR now show correctly when using the reciprocal course. Altimeter starts at the correct setting, within the limits of the Kollsman window. Wind displayed on the HSI is now in the correct direction (was 180° off) Added a temperature error to the altitude based on QFF and sea level temperature All these changes are in the Scripts folder which I have attached below.
