  3. My excellent tester just found another issue that needs attention. And it'll probably affect a lot of my assets. It's part of the DCS core changes of how and when a ground asset will spot and engage a target, especially the ones without radars. This will most likely take a lot of time to correct.

  5. Very close. Nowadays I spend 50% of my time troubleshooting issues caused by ED updates. It takes more or less all the time between two updates, so it's never ending.

  6. Thank you, I'd lie if I didn't say I'm a bit exhausted from all the troubleshooting. 1. I'm aware of this issue, I think I can fix this in the next release. 2. I plan to add the Buk M3 with the next Russian pack update. Haven't decided what else, but there are more assets coming.

Mal sehen was es da gibt. Fazit Für mich hat sich der Umstieg von der G2 > Quest 3 > auf die Crystal mehr als gelohnt ! bisschen tweaken noch, testen und dann Spaß haben. VG

  8. Have to say I was fairly disappointed with the map in quality so far from the perspective of rotary play. It looks fairly off from low to medium altitude, and the terrain mesh does not appear any better than Syria's for example despite the stated "High-resolution terrain mesh, textures and objects that look great from low to high altitude." EA statement. The textures look very poor from low to low-medium altitude. It's a pretty map from up high, and the geography is very interesting. Hopefully these areas improve over the course of EA.

  17. I'm generally happy to wait for EA development, but what i must say is the long periods of silence have been a bit weird. As in long periods with no replies. The one thing i struggle to understand is the easy wins such as being able to navigate the map with tacan's and radio nav's should be a day one thing. There is a metric ton missing from this map, including ILS freq also - i have no comprehension how this can take a year. For me going forward ED should specify as being a flight "simulator" that the basics such as these nav beacons are present DAY 1, esp with the focus on gen 3 aircraft these days. It is no exaggeration that i have twice as many of my own freq's inserted into the base map, than OnReTech put in the original release. That is not simply not good enough and to wait 12 months without ANY updates i think has been below expectations of even a DCS EA module. Only the Supercarrier has been worse.

  20. Hello everyone, while searching through my archives I found photos of my stay in Afghanistan in the Kapisa valley in 2008 - 2009. With these photos I pay tribute to the ground personnel and the CHINOOK crews who participated in the operations alongside us. May they be blessed for their dedication and professionalism. CH-47F Chinook of Company B - "Varsity", 7th Battalion, 101st Airborne Division CH-47F Chinook of Company B - "Pachyderms", 6th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Airborne Division and others that I have not identified...... Photos on board.... And various missions.... oups ! after an eventful flight the panel left its place without authorization !

  25. Fix patch 2.9.6.58056 (July 22) worsens this bug. Landing events (neither 4 nor 55) aren't invoked for landings outside airfields or FARPs in helicopters. Event 4 isn't invoked at all for helicopters, even on FARPs. May I also trouble @Flappie to kindly look at this. Not receiving a landing event for helicopters outside airfields/FARPs kills the functionality of many troop insertion and extraction scripts.

  26. Looking at the new patch notes it looks like this issue is fixed. Thanks ED and @BIGNEWY for tracking these issues on the forums and for the quick work on the patch fixing this and some of the other major bugs. Thanks also @mbucchia for providing support in the interim. @BIGNEWY I would say that if you're not in contact with mbucchia outside of this forum thread, it would be a nice gesture, given the work he's put into the quad views support which a lot of people find important to their DCS experience, and the ongoing support he has provided here, to acknowledge his frustations over the issue and his previous attempts to report it without response.

  28. Hello everyone, Good afternoon. For our new project, we are interested in learning about the navigation and guidance systems on the HMS Queen Elizabeth, specifically for the F-35 aircraft and helicopters. We would like to know what kind of technology and equipment are used to ensure safe and efficient operations for these aircraft. In particular, does the HMS Queen Elizabeth have an IFLOLS or any similar system to assist with aircraft guidance during landing and takeoff? Any detailed information or insights you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help. desdemicabina-simulation

  29. Pitch trim is pretty much dead on compared to the real thing. Yes it was that finicky - you got used to it. Remember that fuel and external loads all move the CG aft, making pitch more sensitive. Which is why it's so much easier to fly in the pattern with only 4k of fuel. Also, the nose down trim on takeoff is there to prevent a pitch up due to accelleration right after takeoff; 3 down means you dont really have to touch pitch trim until 350 knots or so. Pitch forces were (are) so light that it wasn't a struggle to hold off the nose down force as you takeoff and accellerate. A stick extension is a big help. I use a 20 cm on a Virpil cm2, strongest springs (still way too weak), no curves. Works pretty good. I do adjust the roll deadband to 66% to make it roll faster since with the long stick it otherwise leads to too much lateral stick movement - feels like a P-51! Vulture

  30. The Falkland islands actually are not bad at all at "helo" low altitude. Admittedly, it's mostly grasslands with some curved streams and minor settlements, but quite pretty nonetheless. Doing this for a densely populated area such as discussed in this thread, might be too big of a challenge though. At the moment, I do agree with you. If I had to choose now between another satellite or "artificial" map (like Sinai of Syria), I'd prefer the latter.

  31. Hello, Sorry if this has already been mentioned or if it's already requested, I couldn't find any similar topic to this: It would be great to have an option to "disable" night lights on terrain via the mission editor (using a "disable_terrain_lights" action in a zone)? This would enhance immersion for example a bombing mission to a power station which if bombed an area will turn dark in a night mission? Not sure if current terrain architecture would even allow a step further with an option to select complete (100% darkness and not a single light) or partial darkness (most lights off apart from some random remaining ones in a city). This would simulate some residual lights in a city with buildings having generators - eg hospitals etc.

  32. I like all the YT video and screenshot detective work in this thread Some of the observations here pretty much conclude that a Fulda Gap map is being worked on. Just in case any of the devs are reading this: Please take note, that if you include a Dutch military AB, even if it's just one (preferably Volkel ), all Dutch DCS players will purchase your map. That's a promise

  33. I am sure this map will be great one day. I have great hopes for it to be awesome. If only ED would have been so kind to be a bit more transparent up front, I'm sure it would have been appreciated by people instead of explanations after the release. There are parts that looks great and then are the areas not so much. So far Syria has set the bar for what a good map looks like. Not that we care but just that the news letter announcing the map said... Key Features at Early Access: - The entirety of Afghanistan with the southwestern portion available in high detail at early access. - High-resolution terrain mesh, textures and objects that look great from low to high altitude. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/2024-03-29/

  39. Thanks for giving me and loki more work no but seriously it should be possible but where would be literally no documentation on how it worked Ok so as far as I know this was a huge fuel tank for the far east campaign, I think there was more than one aircraft equipt like this and I believe that they experimented with air to air refueling but I'm not sure if it was this configuration with the fuel tank on top, not a very pretty varient. It looks like the super guppy but they forgot the back half and that the Lancaster looked pretty before it was assulted

  42. Yep, he added that AFTER release. It’s BigNewy who posted the original comment which is all we had to go on at the time. They can reinterpret all they want and so can you but “all intents and purposes, feature complete” is pretty self explanatory. No sense debating it anymore. In my opinion it was a poor and rushed release. You are free to believe differently. Hopefully it will eventually improve.

  45. Thanks. I will check it as soon as possible. Actual flight altitude has no influence. Flying in complete circles around the HQ at a practical distance is essential. It is as close as possible but outside of the boundaries and corners marked by the red containers. If you get overlapping information, it is a sign that you missed the point or did a shortcut. Flying with excessive speeds faster than significantly faster than 80 Knots, Kruse may also trigger close calls overlapping. Checked your Video. As I mentioned before, in the video, you cross over to the HQ to train to save time. I understand the desire to speed up sometimes, but that is not how it works in aeronautics and the army. Anyway, the message " fly towards the ridge" should not be able to trigger before landing in front of the highrise. So I may have missed securing that trigger for unintentional activation, or you tried to skip the dull circles by ignoring them first. That may be possible, but I am not sure jet, by referring to the F-10 Radio menu after landing.

  47. FOr the record, the issues w/ Mods that HotLink FC3 Avionics and Pits has nothing to do with FC2024 itself, FC3 has been depreciated entirely, the Module ID is no longer active, so any mod that relied on "\Flaming Cliffs\..." Paths for cockpit art or systems etc, will no longer work. Also note, during the transition there was wonky Auth access for everyone, so FC3 is no longer part of the builds, users need to install the individual FCS Modules for A-10A, F-15C, MIG-29 SU25A, SU27, SU33 and have them Auth, Then the mods need to be revised to use the FCS Modules paths for Cockpit art and systems (ie Instead of "\Flaming Cliffs\... it should be \<F-15C><SU-27><SU-33>\ etc etc
