Just to clarify, we are not closer to ED than before. In our post on F35, we said that it is actually possible to make a good simulation of the F35 based on the public information, and our F35 for the other platform is the proof (we also received compliments of pilots who fly this aircraft in real life saying that at the moment is the closest rendition of the aircraft on a PC simulator) Another hint that we are not closer than before is that in the beyond video, none of our aircraft have been advertised. Anyway, we are continuing on our path, hoping to not disappoint the expectations with the "Gina". Inviato dal mio SM-F731B utilizzando Tapatalk5 points

As @MAXsenna mentioned, our next mod is the Alphajet. It is our first mod to be entirely created using 3D scans. The markings, instruments, and fonts were all made based on photos. It’s clear, and I regret to say, that the Bronco will not receive a graphical remake with 3D scans. It was developed by a single person, and today that person has other priorities in life. However, once their work on the Alphajet is finished, they might come back to the Bronco to fix a few things. That said, it’s certain that there won’t be a radio, a portable TACAN, or high-quality sounds, as having the SDK is required for those features. The A4 was borderline in terms of reverse engineering, I don't think we will go that far. But it would be great if we could have the possibility of having quality sounds, TACAN, and a radio. The Bronco can already drop paratroopers, and I don’t think there will be any additional features in that regard. Alphajet Best regards5 points

Nope - the map isnt suiatble for low level play. On any level. So i havent had months of playing it at all. What I have is a product that promised one level of detail and delivered another when it came to the pre-release image and what we got. What I have is fuzzy felt ground textures droped over jelly mould mountains of a largly unpopulated wilderness. What I have is uninstalled at present. And what I have should never have been released it that state.5 points

Update: January 25, 2025 Just released v2.006 to the files section - https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3342301/ There's a lot of work and testing that went into this update. Complete changelog is on the files page and contained in the first trigger embedded in the ME. Eagle eyed observers likely noticed a few of these already. Highlights are: FIX - Changed two groups of red units "[Jungle] Resupply" and "[Jungle] Infantry" to be much smaller and less spread out over the map. These groups were too big and too spread out. When players damaged any units in either group, the sim lagged significantly. By limiting group size and spread, the lag disappeared. I posted a video of this a few posts back for anyone interested. We believe this is the source of the slideshow that people reported. If you continue experiencing this issue using v2.006, please post here or DM me directly so we can further triage. All client slots now start as statics so airfields and FARPs are populated. When players select a slot, the static is replaced by their client aircraft. This is using @cfrag StopGaps script. Update 1/27/25. Those hosting this (locally or via dedicated server) must install a small script ('stopGapGUI.lua') in their SAVED GAMES\Scripts\Hooks folder to prevent clients from spawning in the air, falling to the ground, and self destructing. This is due to a MP synch issue. This lua is found here - https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3331434/ All of @Devil 505 static work at Andersen, Olf Orote, and the Northern FARP is included. Added Chinooks to the mission Added ELT beacons to CSAR pilot bailout voiceovers Added new skins for many of the statics at Andersen and seen in Devil's videos. You can find links to these skins in the download page. Note: We are sensitive to performance of the community. If this update causes unacceptable performance hits to those flying, please let us know. Currently working on randomizing some of the CSAR voiceovers to add variety to the CSAR gameplay element when picking up downed pilots and delivering them to the MASH. Enjoy!!4 points

Thanks for posting these @Devil 505. Epic videos of some of our best coop missions yet (its only taken us 2 years to get here). Radio traffic coordinating firepower and deconfliction was probably the best we've done. ... and I did my part to add to the pilot carnage generating CSAR missions!4 points

I think it was mentioned, but I don’t remember the outcome. Unfortunately, many teams jealously guard their discoveries. Yeah, 3D scans completely change the way we model and allow us to be much more precise. Since then, our techniques have further evolved, and some parts are highly detailed thanks to that. We still have some 3D scans waiting, but not enough 3D artists to work on them.4 points

Try the attached mission. ED must have changed AI tanker behaviour. Now, when the first waypoint (wpt 0) coincides with the orbit initial waypoint (at least in racetrack pattern) the tanker performs a turn to re-enter the orbit. What I did was adding a new waypoint (wpt 1) where the racetrack is started. Thanks for reporting it. The new modified mission will be included in a next ED's update.Instant_Action_Mirage_F1EE_refuelling.miz4 points

1. - ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT OF INTEREST: The Al Tuwaitha Nuclear Research Center The Al Tuwaitha Nuclear Research Center, located 18 km southeast of Baghdad, was the main site for the Iraqi nuclear weapons program. Al Tuwaitha facilities cover over one square kilometer and included two research reactors (Osiraq and IRT-5000), a fuel fabrication facility, facilities for plutonium separation, uranium enrichment and other purposes. The Osiraq reactor was bombed by Israel in 1981 and the IRT-5000 research reactor was bombed by the U.S. during the Gulf War. Other facilities were damaged or destroyed during the Gulf War. Additional facilities at Al Tuwaitha were damaged or destroyed during Operation Iraqi Freedom and subsequent looting. Most distinctive buildings: Osiraq Reactor ( Tammuz-1): The French had agreed to supply a 40 MWth MTR reactor called Tammuz-1 or Osirak, a zero-power reactor called Tammuz-2, a materials testing hot laboratory (named LAMA), workshops, and a radioactive waste treatment station (named RWTS) IRT-5000 nuclear reactor building 13: The IRT reactor. This facility also contained offices for the physics and chemistry departments. An extension in front of the reactor building was completed in about 1970 to house the new IBM mainframe computer which was installed in 1973, and to house part of the Physics Department. The reactor was upgraded in 1978 to 5 megawatt-thermal. Okay, let's get it straight. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think the first thing that makes this place very characteristic is its defenses built on giant mounds of earth. Furthermore, it requires pilots to carry out very well-planned use of weapons, by other hand i could say that the Tammuz-1 reactor is the most important and iconic building in historical and cinematic terms inside the complex. We have already been able to see the videos of Grim reapers Bombing this reactor in their Operation Opera video, perhaps the first video made on the new map of Iraq. Also this building its particularly different and unique (Important for 80´s visual bombing). I will add a sequence of images that shows the place where both reactors were, in addition to images where you can see drawings and diagrams of the Tammuz-1 reactor building and real images of what it looks like today. i so sorry at this moment i dont have images of IRT-5000 Reactor. If somebody have pictures, please shared. Finally i will shared the images of others building around the Tammuz-1 reactor like the radioactive waste treatment station named RWTS, (ID 1, 2, 3 red numbers) I will continue on the next post. The LAV-25 in DCS currently has 210 rounds of 25mm with no reload, 440 rounds of 7,62mm on the coaxial gun + 220/880 rounds of 7,62mm for the gun pintle mounted. It should be, instead, 210/420 rounds of 25mm (150/300 HE + 60/120 AP), 400 rounds of 7,62mm on coaxial, 100 rounds on pintle mount. Now, from my unterstanding, there are another 1.100 rounds of 7,62mm for rearming in the vehicle, but I'm not sure if they are used on both guns or not. One option is to give the coaxial one reload of 400 rounds and the remaining ammo goes for reloading the one on top of the turret. Either way, the total ammo is different from what we have now. If someone with better knoledge on the matter is here to help, please do. Thanks for the update @TAT0R, much appreciated. I just spent an hour or so back in the Bronco for the first time in a little while. Sure, it's neither 'perfect' or 'finished' -whatever they mean - but it's a good time! It fills a useful role in the wider DCS ecosystem too, and I'm glad I have it installed. If it gets some more love in the future then so much the better Just to chip away at my ignorance - when you say "borderline" for the A4 systems, is that simply in terms of what's possible without SDK access? I'm assuming these are so bespoke to each mod that it would be no easier trying to lift the TACAN from the A4 wholesale than it would making it from scratch for each module? FWIW, I just flew the TACAN training mission (thanks @Rudel_chw!) and it worked well enough - dialed in the station, set to T/R and got a range and bearing, which is a lot better than nothing Here's cheers to Split Air's 2025 and beyond3 points

NineLine, how do you intend to recreate the HMDS and what capabilities do you expect it to have given DCS's worlds current technology? There is a significant amount of data displayed within the helmet while you still have all the information being displayed in the glass cockpit. I remember the early days with the DCS Apache and its IHADSS system requiring a lot of optimization to run smoothly, especially at night with PNVS. The HMDS will far exceed the requirements to display information in the helmet and in cockpit for a simulator. Can you comment further? This has been a big request from the community for a long time. We have received the same answer in the past that it is under investigation. Respectfully, what is being investigated exactly? Put a VR headset on and fly into the sun in DCS and tell me it is not needed. Trying employing and any auto CCIP munition in the Hornet in VR while flying into the sun and convince the community you can see the bomb fall line pass the release point. I always have the HUD displayed in an MFD when flying into the sun for this exact reason. I am not attacking ED, but in a recent update you made a 3D model of the tinted visor coming down for the Viper and the Hornet. I was really hoping for it in that update. Is this a labor-intensive request or a community request that ED feels is not as important as others? Again, after 7 years of asking for it, I feel a valid reason should be provided.3 points
-
Of course, we will include the helmet display; we could not do the f-35 without it as it does not have a HUD. As for tinted visors, we are investigating for all our aircraft.3 points

Hi @Silver_Dragon! Yes, I'm aware of that effect. But it was only triggered by damage caused to the vehicle. What I have in mind is something like "Press G to Smoke Grenade", and you have a smoke screen in front of you for a couple of seconds. As for only the Commander being able to use it, if we got the ability to share command on the same vehicle, sure. But at the moment, the player is doing all tasks simutaneously (minus reloading). It would be amazing, thou, to have that option (ie one player as driver, one as gunner and another as commander).3 points

The guy has posted an excerpt from the actual maintenance manual. Also, a swiss documentary titled 'Helvetic Tiger' contains a scene from actual fire tests. At least one. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/153180-reportedgun-dispersion/page/2/#findComment-3171628 About relative differences: Please re-investigate the issue. For anyone wanting to investigate on their own, in accordance with a post by @Aries144 Posted December 23, 2017 New information incoming. I just discovered that it is possible to freeze the aircraft using active pause, decelerate time using alt z, and shoot the cannon in slow motion with no movement of the aircraft. This will make the next videos posted here as accurate as if the aircraft were stationary on the ground! I know this is an old thread, but the Next Level Racing HF8 is a clone of the Realteus Forcefeel and still has the same problems. Unfortunately, NLR provides NO repair options outside of warranty. The original post in this thread fixed my problem of all motors coming on at full vibrate anytime power was applied to the pad. The de-soldering technique linked above has a couple problems. One is that many do not have a heat gun. Two is that you must figure out a way to shield surrounding components from the heat. I came up with a better way. 1) Use a solder wick to remove as much solder from the chip pads on both sides. 2)Take a nail and bend it into a "U" shape (I used needle nose pliers) so that it sits around the chip and the legs of the "U" covers all the solder pads of the chip. #Note: make sure the "U" sits flat, beat it with a hammer or use a vise to flatten it. 3)Apply flux to the pads and place the nail heat applicator over the chip/pads. 4)Place the soldering iron tip on the nail heat applicator to heat it up and melt the solder. 5)As the solder melts, take a toothpick and slide the chip off the pads while heat is still being applied. After that, clean-up flux and solder the new chip as described in the original post. I bought three replacement chips online and total cost with shipping/tax was under $12. Repair time was about one hour. Attached are a couple pictures of the nail heat applicator. Here is a YouTube link showing the chip desoldering with the nail heat applicator: Hope this helps2 points

In that case I think you are contradictinhg yourself a little with your suggestions . IIRC ED stated that the specific variant they will be modelling is the Warsaw Pact export 9.12A - in which case prioritising accuracy and realism for liveries, the most needed would be: - Poland - DDR + Unified Germany(Luftwaffe) - Czechoslovakia + Czech Republic and Slovakia - Romania - Bulgaria ...i.e the nations(past and present) that actually operated that specific variant. Second priority(since the Soviet 9.12 is all but identical to the 9.12A) would be; - Soviet Union + Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova etc Third priority (operators of the lower spec 9.12b export variant); - Hungary - Yugoslavia + Serbia - Iraq - Iran - Syria - Cuba ..etc2 points

I feel the exact same thing is going to happen with my Afghanistan purchase that happened with my Kola purchase. I don't think it's even been a year and Kola (while still in E/A) has dropped over 50% That is really a slap in the face to those that get marketed that early adopters save more in E/A. It's obvious now that modules will be cheaper once it's actually better. It's becoming quite frustrating. That's why I'm not buying Iraq. I'll wait for a more fleshed out map and cheaper. No need for it now anyway.2 points

thx @MAXsenna i ll check that. Do you know if it is possible to have sounds? I find this to be the biggest problem for mods.2 points

- Low-level flying is a lot of fun in the F-15E, and you can do it forever given the ridiculous amount of fuel you can carry - It is also very respectable in BVR (I in fact completed the FC3 F-15C campaign with the F-15E since it's a purely BVR campaign and there's no need to dogfight). - The wide HUD is incredible! - It has a usable sunvisor so people with sensitive eyes won't get a headache and get nauseous when flying it. - The lack of datalink can also be an advantage: without all-seeing-eye you need to pay a lot more attention to building a picture in your head and watching your surroundings. This increased tension is an advantage in a PC simulator IMHO. - Older TGP that has quirks but is more interesting to use than the fantasy pod the F-16 currently uses.2 points

Thank you for the suggestion and for the rest of your reply. I've tried it now and my first impressions are that yes it's better than dlss3, but that i'm not gaining enough performance over plain dlaa (anything below balanced still shows too much ghosting) to justify it - in particular i'm seeing some rather distracting artifacting with clouds, esp in the peripheral area even with balanced (probably also with quality - don't recall, but I suspect quality would invalidate any perf gains anyway). I will be sticking with my settings above (and the dlss 3 dlls) for now. You have my admiration, but for me this stuff goes into the I'm too old for this sh1t category.2 points
-
@TAT0R I haven't read the licensing on their Github page, while I'm positive I read somewhere they would let others use their code if credited, and have done so for other community modules with radios. I can't believe they all reversed engineered it. Just a thought!2 points

Tried both DLSS and DLAA now, on preset J. DLSS has noticeably improved across the board, but minor ghosting still remains. Can see it on treetops as they passby. However, DLSS on J seems to want to delete aircraft/dots when they pass in front of cloud cover at a distance, which for me is a non starter. DLAA on preset J is just a flat improvement across the board with no new downsides as far as I can tell, apart from the performance hit which is supposed to be alleviated by moving to 571.96. No issue with dots/planes getting squashed with only DLAA enabled. I tried installing 571.96 but immediately got CTD's in DCS when trying to load in so I suspect it was a bad innstall, will try it again tonight. This is all in VR with quad view enabled as well, so dots/planes getting squashed may be related to DLSS 4 interacting negatively with my aggressive quad view settings.2 points

No, the comms menu (when open) overrides whatever the other bindings are. So I have (in the F-18) my weapons selection up/down moves the comms menus up/down and depress enters, but if the comms menu isn't open it works normally as the weapon selection buttons.2 points

I can also report this issue. I've posted my logs before on the ED discord and no solution. I also updated Windows 11 to 24H2 and that was probably when this happened. I've tried complete clean DCS reinstall and that hasn't helped. I can also verify that loading into a slot in SP loads normally. And that if you do this BEFORE joining a MP server and picking that same jet/helo you will load into the slot instantly. But if you load into MP "cold" DCS will appear to hang because as seen in the logs people have uploaded the specific plane(whatever plane/helo slot was selected) take MINUTES to load each dll. So for the ED testers what is the difference between first loading the dlls in SP vs MP? I've tried this in several servers with TONS of slots and servers with only 6, and it makes no difference. Are any ED testers on 24H2?2 points

Brother you are beyond awesome man! I will shoot a quick video later for you of her new home on our Into The Jungle Vietnam mission we have been continuing to work on. I have created an entire section for the Cobra pilots and their barracks/HQ next to their pads. It is right next to the Cayuse squadron. Really looking forward to when you get her complete or in a release state. Hopefully you release this on gethub or a platform where we can show you our appreciation by leaving donations. Thanks again for doing this for the community. Again, one of the best things coming to DCS this year (if it's this year).2 points

I think reflected explained it in the intro of his F-16c campain, you also really need to use it there. You take the first highlighted collum and search for the letter you want/need, then go right until you hit the second letter that was given to you, or want to get authenticated. From there you go down one row to the letter below. And then left to the first collum again. As an example from the table above, you are supposed to authenticate Charly Foxtrot: 1.collum on the left to C, then right until you hit F and under F you find A (Alpha) in row E (Echo). So you authenticate Alpha Echo.2 points

Hi @currenthill I think i found a bug in your mod, it is related to "DShK HMD". You can put it in a mission, no problem so far, but at the time the unit need to react to an enemy, the game crash to desktop without anything write in the DCS log....like ALT+F4... I've put around 120 grounds units from various types with 1 A10C and two choppers in my mission on the Caucasus map, every time the choppers or the A10 are in the engagement zone of the DShK HMD, the game crash....without the HMD, no problem.2 points

Eagle Dynamics hear us out. Please expand NTTR. Please give us a Low detail expansion all the way to the west coast (Orange border). Please update the existing area to be high detail with your current map tech (Red Border). Please extend the high detail area south to the Mexican border to include San Diego and Yuma (Purple Border). If nothing else please add Fallon to the existing map. Please add the following air bases so that our modules have a true home. Miramar (F-14, F-5, A-4), Yuma (AV-8B, F-5), El Toro (F-4S, F/A-18, A-4), Lemoore (A-7, F/A-18) George AFB (F-4E, OV-10). As a bonus, you could add Edwards AFB for ALL air frames, NAS North Island, and Luke AFB (not pictured) for F-16's. The Orange border is the size of the new Iraq map dimensions. -Woog2 points
