So, the inner wheels should be slighty wider ? That´s your criticism ? I`m not sure what I´m supposed to look at with the Iskander. Both the T-90 and the Iskander look fantastic to me and I´m really looking forward to these assets. I think you have to tone down your expectations to a realistic level. Most of the time, people are looking at these through a targeting pod from 10 miles away. And I think it´s really unfair to the developers to call these "very bad" or "made by a schoolboy" - these are very high quality models.8 points

Hey! Thank you for your support and interest in the Currenthill Assets Pack. In this post I will keep an updated FAQ, where I try to answer the questions already asked or things I want to explain more in depth. FAQ Q1: Will Currenthill Asset Pack be part of core DCS? A1: Yes. The new assets will be added to the DCS core engine free for all of you to enjoy. Q2: Will all the assets from the Currenthill mod packs be added to DCS? A2: No. The library of new core assets are based off of the inventory of the Currenthill mod packs, but each asset are carefully chosen to be added to DCS. Each new core asset are implemented mostly from scratch to uphold a specific consistent standard of things like mesh and textures quality, animations, FLIR textures, LODs, destroyed models etc. Q3: Will the new core assets conflict with the Currenthill mod pack assets? A3: No. All new core assets have unique names and will therefore not conflict with the Currenthill mod pack assets. Q4: Will there be more batches of new core assets? A4: Yes. The first announcement letter describes the first batch of new core assets, but there will be more to come. Q5: Which assets will the next batch contain? A5: For maximum suspense, the content of the next batch won't be announced until it's announced. Q6: Are the new core assets the same assets as in the Currenthill mod packs? A6: No. Q7: Will the new core assets take up a lot of storage space? A7: No. They will be better optimized than the Currenthill mod packs. The average size per asset is around 500 megabyte. Q8: Will the new core assets have FLIR textures? A8: Yes. All the new core assets will come with FLIR textures. Q9: Will the new core assets have LODs? A9: Yes. All the new core assets will come with multiple level-of-details (LODs). This means less detailed models will be displayed at longer viewing distances. There are LODs for both the models and the destroyed models. Q10: Will the new core assets have advanced weapons? A10: Yes. The collaboration with ED makes it possible to implement more advanced weaponry like the 9K723K1 short range ballistic missile and the dual seeker IRIS-T SLM missile. Q11: Will I continue to develop the Currenthill mod packs? A11: No. The new core assets will take up most of my DCS developing time. Q12: Will I continue to support the Currenthill mod packs? A12: Yes. I will implement a best-effort approach to keeping the Currenthill mod packs working with DCS updates. Q13: Will I remove the duplicate assets from the Currenthill mod packs? A13: Yes. I will most likely remove duplicate assets to avoid any kind of unnecessary confusion. Q14: Will the core assets support Combined Arms? A14: Yes. The new core assets will support Combined Arms cockpits where it's possible with the current limitations. For example, guns of all kinds are more likely to be player-controlled than advanced missile systems. Q15: When will the first batch of core assets release? A15: SoonTM. Q16: Will the new core assets come with different liveries? A16: Yes. The new core assets will come with summer, winter and desert liveries. There may be a few exceptions, for example aircraft assets. Q17: Will the new core assets have the CH prefix in the mission editor? A17: No. For consistency and ease-of-use the new core assets will be integrated with other DCS core assets. Q18: Will the new core assets have improved collision and damage models? A18: Yes. The new core assets will have improved collision and damage models with more damage zones on par with the latest ED core assets.8 points

Regarding: Q17: Will the new core assets have the CH prefix in the mission editor? A17: No. For consistency and ease-of-use the new core assets will be integrated with other DCS core assets. I wish ED reversed this decision, as I find it useful to easily identify the asset's origin, in the same way as was done with Massun's Assets, plus it is kind of a recognition for his efforts to add AI units to DCS.7 points

Agreed. The mods are very nicely done and are provided free of charge to everyone. Love to see those who complain try to make even one as nicely as the 100+ Currenthill has made.7 points

Some work in progress updates. I've gone through all of the MFD/PMFD pages and removed references to the FCS modes. Cleaned up duplicate information and de-cluttered them. Adjusted previous functions for the new EFM. UFD now has all pertinent flight data along with advisories on one page and updated fuel display on the other. Clocks were moved to ICP, Zulu and Mission. The other clocks were configured for local mission time. Updated the systems page to show a fake BIT series that also happens to explain why you can't use GPS guided munitions (If you didn't know there are bombs in the mod but they are unguided.) Updated fuel pages for the Raptor's 18k lbs of internal fuel. As you can see in one shot, the fuel was set at 75% in the mission editor and is reflected as such on the screens. I updated the UFD fuel page to be scaled in thousands of pounds. The default scale isn't linear, but the way the gauge works is. So now it's at least pretty close. I've come up with a means to use the external tanks if desired and have a maximum of 26k lbs of fuel. 18k is generally going to be enough though. Lots of things happening behind the scenes. EFM is close to a release candidate. Weapons tweaks continue. Some new assets are being developed and added. Things are coming along nicely. I almost forgot. With the update to 2.9.15 there's a bug that won't allow sounds in saved\sounds to override the existing ones. I created a separate sounds mod for the F-22 that corrects that and also eliminates Betty's OVER G, MAXIMUM SPEED, MINIMUM SPEED alerts. This can be used with the existing version as it's a separate mod. NOTE: IT DOES REPLACE SU-25 SOUNDS as those are still the sound files the F-22 uses. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/yrd4p48gfzq2pkf2hahlr/F-22A-Raptor-Sounds.zip?rlkey=oycxuf5794aadq1ck7pzu66f0&dl=06 points

You'll just have to play around with it. Strange, I checked the 1.5.0 package and all the Buk M3 units are present. Well, let's just say I'll be quite busy for a while. Haha, I always do my best to get things done. Well, I quite like to have the assets automatically sorted by type. For example, all the MBTs in one place, regardless of who made it. But there will most likely be a suffix for the credit. I think the prefix is more important to identify mods. These assets will be part of the DCS core.6 points

Currenthill is well known in the DCS community for his excellent mod packs and these AI assets will be added to the Core engine free for all of you to enjoy. A huge amount of work has gone into integrating the assets; creating Levels of Detail; generating IR textures; adding desert, woodland and winter textures; creating damaged and destroyed models, and more. In parallel, we are creating new weapons like the Iskander, ATACMS, and IRIS-T SLM missiles to support these new assets. Some assets will also add new capabilities such as the IRIS-T surface to air missile system that features active radar-guidance paired with infrared-guidance; this makes it a deadly adversary. This first set of Currenthill assets will include the FV101 and the lightweight FV107 armoured vehicle for your South Atlantic missions; the Tor M2 and Pantsir S1 for short range and air defense systems; and enhanced Russian Main Battle Tanks (MBT) like the T-90A and T-90M. The M-ATV, M1083 tactical truck, and M1130 command vehicle will also be included for your Mid-East missions. For your European theatre missions, you’ll have a diverse range of new assets such as the Project 22160 Patrol Ship and air assets including the Mi-28N attack helicopter and the Tu-95MS bomber equipped with Kh-101 cruise missiles. For ground operations, you'll gain access to the BMPT Terminator IFV, the TOS-1A multiple rocket launcher, the 9K720 Iskander short range ballistic missile, the T-84 Oplot-M, and the T-64BV MBTs. Additionally, the modern IRIS-T SLM medium-range SAM and the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) that features both Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) and Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) will also be at your disposal. We look forward to adding additional Currenthill assets in the future. ...Yeah, the silliness is often off the charts sometimes here for new incoming things (I'm tired, boss™). I can't imagine the work involved on pushing out so many models as a hobby for a videogame as Currenthill did. For folks who just won't get their hands dirty on making a single dent of contribution to DCS to say it was a 'school boy' level work is unbelievable. We all need these models in the sim. We are short of them immensely. Instead of complaining about the quality of 'free' stuff, get to work on something. My thoughts exactly. We need them. Doesn't matter if a bolt or a grill is miss placed by a few cm. For a mod made at home, they are unbelievably nice; to look at and having in the sim.5 points

Thanks @EvilBert VR, i guess u forgot to add the link tho.. For some strange reason the bunker area / weapons bunker area is pretty much incomplete, most bunkers are missing and for some strange reason they placed those 2 weird looking world war 2 buildings into the area... also the knee high killer grass is making everything much more difficult to mod... i still hope that will be fixed, it's one of the most annonying things in all DCS maps.. i worked on those storage buildings today, including texture, normal map, AO... and added the protection walls, just the grass texture need to be fixed so it blends in with the ground much better...4 points

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, seems the airfields in Germany map is generally flat, from many screenshots can see the airfields are super flat and like a straight rectangles. I know the 90% of the time we're in the air but different terrain bumping can bring the special landing\takeoff experience, just like Ugra them selves did very good on the Syria map the İncirlik air base. And ED's Guam, they have non flat runways that's a sign of they care about Terrain experience.3 points

My guess is they generated that thing more than handcrafted it, as with most more rural areas of the map I've seen so far. As mentioned above, I know the area and a bunch of roads don't follow the real ones, and some villages just get turned into industrial complexes. That asset probably also is a just a generic thing anyway that is placed multiple times across the map. My concern was that with the historical significance, esp. relating to the cold war, of this being an important radar site and military base (first controlled by the US, later by the Bundeswehr) surveilling the airspace around the Fulda Gap I think it should get more love and some dedicated assets at some point.3 points

I second this. Sure, you can set the pressure setting to anything on the ground if you have the reference altitude (so either zero it if setting QFE, or set it to the aerodrome altitude if using QNH), but there is no way to reliably alter the pressure airborne since you have no reference to set it with. For those who don't know: as the air pressure changes either with time or you moving from A to B, the altimeter has to be reset in the air at the very least for landing. DCS doesn't have a proper simulation of airmasses yet (the old dynamic weather front system is horrible to use), but as the dynamic weather is introduced at some point this *WILL* become a problem for the F-15C pilots. Not a matter of if, but when. Altimeter setting is one of the handful of critical things any airman must handle. ED please get this fixed3 points

Sorry guys, trains was something added by one of our devs long ago, more so for WWII, but they still need work in a few areas, I will make sure this is noted as well and when the dev can get back to it maybe it can be a priority, thanks! I moved it to the appropriate section now.3 points

There is no world where it is better to have some asset as a mod rather than in the game. Running endless mods, especially with a software like DCS that makes it a hecking headache is not really an option for large MP communities, PvE or PvP. "Oh just get the mod" ignores such a glaring majority of the reality of multiplayer, the nature of DCS, and online communities. It's good that CH assets are in the game. I don't want mods if I can help it.3 points

How much INS deviation can we expect on a 500nm enroute or 45 mins of flight with GPS on? Situation as follows. Date set to 2016 aka GPS active era. Air spawn, everything already setup correctly. 1. Spawn 10 nm of the target (middle building) no deviation. 2. Spawn 500 nm away. 45 mins flight. Deviation is about 400 ft. ( no copy of the F16 player unit, actually moving it, not touching the waypoint itself) Why? GPS should correct for INS errors continously, or not? The deviation gets worse the longer the flight or the travel to target. Its not too noticeably starting 100nm away, so I chose 500 nm. Can someone explain? Tracks attached. Congratulations & big applause to Ugra Media for this new map & of course ED for being the conduit for this new beauty. I've explored about %70 of this map but what I've seen so far is incredible & yes there are bits & pieces that still need work but what a mind blowing first upload. I was so impressed, especially when I knocked up a 05:00 mission start from my carrier. The lighting, streets, buildings & terrain are the best I've seen. Makes mission building & flying a joyful experience & the map is a whopper too! Finally, at the risk of sounding stupid, I have one question.. I couldn't find any Red, Blue or White Bulls anywhere on the map. Am I missing something? Anyway, thank you again guys for a great map that's going to bring us many hours of flying & discovery making for an awesomely immersive experience. This is by far, well worth the money. Cheers GA2 points

I just moved a buttload of Soviet armor from the East German border, through Fulda, and into Frankfurt, and it was hilly and congested with windy mountain roads. Not much better than the what I assume the Ardennes would have been like. There was no "gap" to speak of. Why was this considered such an easy route, to the point that everyone assumed they were going to use it?2 points

I never make missions that start at night due to them being just terrible. Staring at blackness and not being able to see a hill coming up in front of me makes flying at low level not possible in many places. Watching replays of the mission also are almost useless since I can't see much of what's going on. Being able to select night vision for external views at least would make watching them enjoyable.2 points

Hello, I would like to start a mod project for the release of the Mirage F1 M to transform it into a Mirage F1 MF2000 which is a not very well known but devastating version it's the best mirage F1 version at the Royal Moroccan Air Force. Mirage F1 MF2000 Mirage F1M Both have a similar cockpit and my main objective is to add a second MFD on the right, not necessarily functional but which displays information. both of them have: - Full digital HUD with CCIP/CCRP symbology -GPS and updated INS -upgraded IFF transponders ect ..... I've already made a mod for the MF2000 based on the F1EE with functional FOX 2.3 EM/IR mica,EXOCET, ASSM 500 and 1000, Damocles pod, a new livery and I make in blender the ECM PAJ-FA. But with the arrival of the M there is a way to do something much more accurate. HERE THE MF2000 UPGRADE The MF2000 in action By virtual moroccan air force https://discord.gg/zYfMAUPG2 points

No spot tracker in a KW. When asked what we wanted in a -58F or ARH, that was one of our requests. KW pilots talk each other on to targets. Example: KW1: Do you see the cross road at 2 o'clock? KW2: Yes, with a single tree on the north side? KW1: Yes, that's it. Follow the road west until you see a compound with a wall. KW2: I have a compound with a wall, about a mile west of the intersection. KW1: There is another compound about 400 meters south. It has a coke can roof, do you see it? KW2: Roger, coke can roof approximately 400 meters south. KW1: That's it. I just saw 4 personnel, possibly armed move into the courtyard. We'll maneuver to get our MMS on it from the north, you go west and do the same. When we would go out with an apache, it was much simpler to just tell them we were squirting the target and they would use their spot tracker.2 points

This version was presented only as a model at the exhibition. In reality, all ships cannot carry the Shtil-1 SAMs, and are not equipped with the radar complex necessary for their use. The Kalibr system and X-35 anti-ship missiles in standard transport containers are also not installed on 22160.2 points

It's even simpler than that. Don't touch Steam, just copy the folder from old drive to the new one, turn off PC, replace drives, turn on PC. Last but not least check if Windows assigned the same drive letter to the new drive as was used by the old drive, if not, correct that in Disk Management. That's all. No need to fiddle with 3rd party cloning or partitioning software.2 points

Unfortunately, the MiG-29 is ignoring any custom cockpit stored at /Saved Games/ ... the only way to get an english cockpit is by placing the texture files within the ED files path, for example: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2.9.6\Mods\aircraft\MiG-29\Liveries\Cockpit_MiG-29A This works and looks like this: Unfortunately this will most likely break the IC for Multiplayer ... I wonder why ED lately is doing this kind of thing, that only preclude users from fully enjoying their Modules. After the nasty surprise I got with the new F-5E (which can't have user liveries made) I will not ever purchase an aircraft Module before its released and after confirming if it indeed can be customized or not. Bad move ED, hope you change your ways or you risk losing your most faithful customers. Eduardo2 points

The tctos for EGI from my knowledge show EGI being fully added in 2007 for AD birds(This is seen in the avionics power panel being changed at that time to reflect EGI installs) and not being fully completed till around 2010 ish. Guard units may have gotten them earlier as it seems they tend to get stuff earlier since they are a different pot of money compared to AD units Needless to say ED choose a messy year to put as the reference for the 162 points

Hey guys @ED! Can we please have a Kollsman window for reading the pressure setting in the main barometric altimeter? Currently it doesn't make sense to have keybindings to change the pressure setting without reading it somewhere. IRL the window is placed on the right bottom area of the instrument: Thanks & keep up working on the F-15C! Kind regards, TOViper2 points

That might work but I'm not sure how Steam handles potential drive re-lettering. Another option is to try Macrium Reflect. It's a great backup/recovery tool and I've used it to clone drives seamlessly several times.2 points

I still see the same thing as well. All air to air missile hits result in 100% pilot kill. Only gun shots are survivable. I am not sure how ED is testing this but a player flown F-18 in single player being hit always kills my pilot. I setup a test with getting shot by a mig-29 from my 6 o'clock with an aa-11. When in an f-18 100% pilot kill. When flying Fw-190D, F-15C, F-16, A-10C, AV-8, F-14A, or F-14B the pilot survives at least 90% of the time so I can eject. II would test with other planes but I don't own them.2 points

Thanks! As I mentioned in the FAQ, I intend to keep the existing mods working (within a reason of course). And this includes the RWR/HARM files. Unfortunately not. The new core game Iskander will feature the first ballistic trajectory missile since the Scud. So let's call it the first core game accurate ballistic missile. It isn't based on the old way we created ballistic missile mods in DCS where the missile would go straight up and then point straight to the target without a ballistic arc.2 points

I had a little lol at that, thanks It'd be great to see, but not whilst the business model is flogging modules...2 points

As @Wizard_03 stated, the F35 has a vast array of internal passive sensors which can be used for target detection and engagement (DAS/EOTS/ASQ-239/CNI etc) . But the F35s datalink (MADL) is unmatched by anything the public is aware of. Most current A2A datalink systems merely allow aircraft to share positions/vectors of targets. However each MADL node allows each flight member to share every individual piece of sensor information available on threats. Basically allowing a single F35 to gain access to its entire flights combined sensor capabilities. Each individual F35 can then individually fuse, or reject each piece of information from both MADL and onboard sensors into its own trackfile in order for weapons employment. (Image just as an example of how different data sources can be fused) MADL is also an LPI system with each of its nodes only sending highly-directional beams directly between each aircraft, among other features.2 points

You cannot set QNH in flight, nor set QFE in flight, so IT IS useless.2 points
