The Uncage Switch is the depress function of the MAN RNG knob on the throttle.

Is all your DCS audio routed to the same device, or do you use a separate device set to 'Headphones' for helmet audio?

cannot reproduce and missing track file Takeoff trim trouble with the F18
Tholozor replied to Tree_Beard's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
You'll probably have to post a track then, because it sounds exactly like flaps are in AUTO. -
cannot reproduce and missing track file Takeoff trim trouble with the F18
Tholozor replied to Tree_Beard's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Never take off with flaps in AUTO, only HALF or FULL. Adjusting takeoff trim with the trim switch should also only be done with flaps in HALF or FULL. -
You're in ACM Slew mode. Enters when the cursor is moved when the master mode is DGFT; ensure you have a suitable deadzone if your slew cursor is bound to an axis to prevent entering it erroneously.

Not from inside the cockpit, and there's currently no ground crew option for it either.

cannot reproduce and missing track file APU Switch will not engage
Tholozor replied to pete_auau's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
The arming pushbutton for the APU fire warning/extinguisher is located above the right DDI, just inboard of the covered pushbutton for arming the right engine/AMAD fire warning/extinguisher. Ensure this button is not depressed (works as a toggle instead of a momentary action). Arming the APU fire extinguisher will shut down the APU.- 1 reply

Burst Altitude is AGL.

The Hornet doesnt send designations like the F-16 does. The Hornet uses Target Designate (TXDSG), which is enabled by default, and shares the aircraft's TGT on the network. Some of the symbology has changed since this video came out, but it basically behaves like this:

The PLBK indication in the HUD represents that the Pullback condition is met, but not ready to fire. PLBK should switch to HARM when firing a HARM under Pullback condition is possible. The HRM OVRD option controls if the pilot is able to Override the Pullback condition. If boxed, the pilot is in total control of selected weapon release (HUD will indicate PLBK). If unboxed, HARM SP Pullback condition is possible (HUD will indicate HARM). HARM Pullback (HRM OVRD unboxed) is always active in A/A mode, as all A/A weapons are fired with the trigger as opposed to the weapon release button.

De-colonizing UFC autopilot modes will enter Control Stick Steering (CSS, 'A/P' advisory) mode. This is correct as-per the NATOPS. The paddle switch is the sure-fire way to disengage all autopilot modes.

correct as is Track take control Stab trim issue.
Tholozor replied to mason.zh's topic in Bugs and Problems
In the current flight model behavior, dropping the flaps results in a large nose-up pitch as the wing surface area changes shape when the LEFs and TEFs extend. Remember that the "on-speed" refers to AoA, not airspeed. "On-speed" is whatever airspeed the aircraft is at when AoA is ~8.1°, and at that time, your AoA was around that point. The aircraft doesn't care about your airspeed, only that AoA is correct for hook-to-wire contact. At some point near the beginning of the track, Control Stick Steering (CSS) autopilot mode was engaged ('A/P' advisory on the left DDI) and stayed on for the remainder of the replay. CSS mode adjusts the FCS logic regarding the trim switch. There's a warning in the NATOPS that not disengaging CSS for landing can result in extreme oscillations in pitch. Ensure all autopilot modes are fully disengaged with the paddle switch (de-colonizing autopilot modes such as BALT, RALT, or ATTH on the UFC will automatically enter CSS). -
No, that would require the WAR HUD (only on Block 40/42) and AN/AAQ-13 navigation pod.

Right, my response was in regards to the previous post regarding the MFD text color. In regards to the original topic, here's some examples of older models with the black plate (a fair number of EPAF units also have the black plate): Belgian Blk.20 MLU (FB-22), 2004: https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/373741 Belgian Blk.20 MLU (FA-84), 2013: https://www.airliners.net/photo/Belgium-Air-Force/General-Dynamics-SABCA-F-16AM-Fighting-Falcon-401/2394136/L USAF Blk.30 (83-0278), 2007: https://www.flickr.com/photos/28042007@N07/4133245772 USAF Blk.40 (89-2118), 2010: https://www.airliners.net/photo/USA-Air-Force/General-Dynamics-F-16CM-Fighting-Falcon-401/1689465 USAF Blk.40 (88-0463), 2021: https://www.flickr.com/photos/rock_chalk_jhawk_ku/51284201813 Norwegian Blk.20 MLU (711): https://www.f-16.net/g3/f-16-photos/album03/album72/acq Norwegian Blk.20 MLU (285), 2006: https://www.airliners.net/photo/Norway-Air-Force/General-Dynamics-Fokker-F-16AM-Fighting-Falcon-401/1168279 USAF, 2009: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfb2L-blz4Y&ab_channel=AVweb

How to have TADS on pilots left MFD - but not dark
Tholozor replied to hreich's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Go to the VID page, then select TADS on R1. You can then select TADS on T6 to show the full TADS display, or go to a different page and the TADS video will be underlaid behind it. The Video Control Knob (labeled VID on the top left corner of the MPD) controls the brightness of the video underlay. -
From this mini-update: This might include the hydraulic/flaps light logic.

So this particular instance of ED not making an updated video/post detailing a particular change that multiple community members and ED have basically said (via the tag on the thread) the current implementation is correct completely negates all arguments? https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/changelog/stable/2.7.14.24228/ Sorry, but the burden of proof is on you now. -
cannot repoduce and missing track file Spot Mode Radar A/A
Tholozor replied to Vox's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
That was covered in my reply, depressing the TDC will exit Spotlight mode. The documentation I've read makes no distinction if the TDC is depressed over a trackfile or not.
