investigating Radar and System Track vs Tu-160 Blackjack
Deano87 replied to Dawgboy's topic in Bugs and Problems
Have you tried replicating this in single player using the mission editor? -
I much prefer the tyres as they are now compared to how they were when the F-16 was released where it was impossible to land or takeoff in a crosswind because they had way too much lateral grip. I was the one who brought up the original too grippy tyres in the first place. Its only anecdotal evidence but my brother who has 500+ relatively recent F-16 hours has flown the viper in my sim in a variety of wind conditions and has never mentioned any major issue with the rudder on takeoff or landing. He has mentioned other things which he feels need tweaking but they are already things being worked on (FM stuff)... Cheers D

Most people I fly with who fly using a moving stick (warthog or cougar) for the F-16 use the -20 curve as well with good success.

This is a thread about the aircrafts radar performance. Not sure if you noticed lol. If you're replying to said thread then It can fairly be assumed that you're also talking about the subject that the thread is about.
-
The real stick barely moves, and is based around force input rather then movement. And the load on the stick doesn’t change regardless of flight condition. I don’t see how or why you’d try and replicate that with consumer level FFB.

You’re not diving steep enough. It’s only doing the CCRP designate thing because the bomb fall pipper is below the limits of the HUD. Steeper dive angle and once the horizontal line in the middle of the bomb fall line disappears then you’re in pure CCIP mode.

correct as-is agm-65 IRR Targeting Bug (Targeting Ground)

You do know it has a narrow FOV (zoomed in) mode by pressing the pinky button on the stick right? -
Wow that looks stunning.

There is now. This is a 3 yr old thread that you replied to. Its vertical scroll wheel towards the left hand side on the bottom of the HUD controls panel below the HUD itself. Try it with the mouse wheel, it should work.

The Flap abuse in the Tomcat has been helped in recent patches by making them much easier to over-stress I believe?
-
Make it user selectable in special options. For VR pilots its increased readability of screens a lot I've found.
-
No Problem! Glad you figured out your issue. Out of habit from flying other modules on more than one occasion I selected "flaps down" on the downwind for landing and turned all the electrics off lol. That binding got changed pretty quickly after that. D
-
This is definitely an INS issue. It sounds like you’re turning the jet off when you spawn? Which will clear your INS alignment. If you have a HOTAS warthog check your flap switch on the throttle as that is normally assigned to main power.
-
Ahhhh this is probably my issue as I’m often taking tanks. Thanks!

missing info INS Alignment - No Stearpoint Distance on HUD
Deano87 replied to MrYeti's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I do wonder why, if you're happy spending the 8 mins doing the long alignment you don't just load the weapons before start as would be more realistic. I only takes what... 20-30 seconds for weapons to load? -
DCS: F-16C Viper | HARM Targeting System Video
Deano87 replied to Paladin1cd's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Wags has mentioned in a youtube comment for one of the previous Apache videos that we are getting an eastward expansion of the Syria map, presumably a bit of the way into Iraq? -
Remember the 154A uses the BLU-97/B like the CBU-87/103, NOT the "smart" skeet BLU-108 as used in the CBU-97/105. So if you're going to compare the damage to other weapons already in sim you should compare it to the CBU-87/103 and not the 97/105. Its the AGM-154B that uses the fancy BLU-108 skeets and should in theory be just as effective as a CBU-105.

The inboard pylons have extra long racks (MER) that can hold 6 bombs in total, 3 behind 3. As far as I know this was only done for testing early on in the F-16s life and never used operationally. And it's certainly not a valid loadout for a "F-16C Block 50 operated by the United States Air Force and Air National Guard circa 2007" as is simulated in the sim. One aircraft that will we will hopefully be getting at some point that can carry MERs is the A-6 intruder... 5 of them in total. For a total of 30 mk82s lol.

Hey all. I've been flying the Mig-15 a bit recently on the Cold War server and having a great time. But I've noticed a couple of weird things that I just want to check that I'm not imagining things. I know about the Mig-15s roll instability at high mach numbers and the fact the sim has a randomized wing stiffness calculation per spawn so that you never know which way the aircraft is going to roll once you reach critical mach, that's all good. What is confusing me is that it seems like the wings are getting permanently twisted when I go even a little too fast and that's effecting the handling of the aircraft for the whole rest of the flight. For instance, recent flight I got airborne and climbed up to 8000m and the aircraft was handling perfectly, I started a descent and I let the speed get a little fast to the point where the aircraft just started to roll to the right by itself. As soon as i noticed the roll I throttled back and put the brakes out and slowed down to mach 0.75. But from that moment on the aircraft required constant re-trimming in roll, even at much slower speed. Almost like I permanently twisted the wing. When I've grossly exceeded the critical mach I've required almost full aileron to maintain wings level even once slowed down to below 0.7 mach or 800kmh. Externally I see no damage to the wings, but the aircraft definitely feels twisted. Am I the only one noticing this? It makes sense if the forces are really that high, but I guess it expected it to be more of a transitory phenomenon than something permanently damaging the aircraft like this. Cheers D

Have you tried it without entering the coordinates, just confirming each line with Enter? -
reported F-16 Agm-65 Maverick crosshair disappearing with 0x MSAA
Deano87 replied to Shiny's topic in Bugs and Problems
Great to hear it working for you. Those files are shader cache files which reduce loading times on subsequent loads after the first one, I recommend clearing them out with every sim update. If any of the previously cached files have changed it can cause conflicts with the new files and weird issues here and there. Cheers D -

I run 0 MSAA and don't have this issue. Have you tried clearing the fxo and metashaders folders from your DCS directory in your Users Saved Games folder? Cheers D -
You might want to be a bit more specific with what you're asking... Do you mean... "When will we get a pilot that can sustain 9G for a reasonable period of time without blacking out?" or are you talking about FM related things?
