Test this with steerpoints you've entered manually and not while following steerpoints entered in the Mission Editor (like on an Instant Action mission)
It's where they plug in a cable to ground the aircraft and draw off any static electricity (which can be very bad in the presence of jet fuel or live ordinance)
The other end as a clamp similar to what you'd find on a battery jumper cable and that gets clamped to a metal D Ring embedded in the concrete on the ramp.
The HSI Dial has very little light on it at night and the ILS Needles have none making them almost impossible to see during a night ILS...
Something for the "When we get around to it file"
Ran across a pair of AI Block 50s carrying Mavericks in the Caucuses “Ready On The Ramp” Instant Action mission...
So at least we know they’re “Dating” :smilewink:
You don’t want something pulling your eyes off the tanker though. You have to take in the whole scene: Tanker, Lights, Your Relative Position...
If I tried to do AAR with my eyes off the tanker, it would be a disaster.
I think it depends on the mix of aircraft you’re used to flying with. Our group has Hogs, Hornets and now Vipers. Yes, the Hornets can carry HARMs but it detracts from their major role which is A2A. Hogs can carry Mavericks and target them better right now with a fully functional TGP.
HARMs and MK-82s with which to follow up on launchers (with still a minimum of self defense in A2A) would make the Vipers far more effective (at least under our SOPs)
