Integrated Voice Comms and DSPs to make them sound realistic would be nice :)

Why not helicopters?

In my opinion this is the best sim for helicopter Pilots. I saw never a better simulator for helis.

Dynamic Campaign is the big one that keeps most of my squadron (16th ACCW several members that have been working together for over a decade) flying BMS instead of DCS. There are other factors to be sure: Study sim multi-role 4th Gen F-16C or F-18C with working internal radios are other big ones but primarily it is the dynamic campaign. Most of our members do not like the way DCS missions go online which primarily has to do with the way the mission has been designed - you get shot down and immediately hop in another jet and the integrity of group team work starts to fall apart. We like missions that have a clear set goal that we all have to work together to achieve and then have an end. To be clear, pretty much everyone in our squadron likes DCS (its amazing) and buys the modules, but the immersion isn't there yet for us and despite our best efforts at mission building. Most of us do not have the time or abilities to work with the mission builder in DCS to create the same feeling of realistic missions that BMS does. Duplicate what BMS does with a engine like EDGE and DCS will drag most of the BMS crowd over.

I feel the same way that your squad mates do. DCS is gorgeous and the aircraft are fantastic, I own a ton of modules. The problem for me is that static missions are stale because they are scripted and feel very hollow, and going online is boring because death match in jets is just as boring as it was back in the day in prop planes with il-2.

I love multiplayer and DCS is great fun in MP. Even more so now were starting to get the two seat aircraft.

 

So improved multiplayer got my vote.

I had to go with dynamic campaign- with the F-18 we will have a true multi role so combined with the F-15c, A-10c, F-14, upcoming Choppers we could have a pretty solid campaign assortment on the BlueFor side.

 

My second choice would be more multi role to flesh out the campaign.

 

We've already got more theaters coming, so dedi's to manage the campaigns would be great as well.

Granted I did vote Dynamic campaign, as we can have all the aircraft in the world in here, but without a good immersive dynamic campaign, there's still something missing.

 

I agree wholehearted that this is THE sim for Helo pilots, it's fantastic, now if we combine that with the dynamic campaign, you would really get drawn in. Personally, I would love to see combined arms get developed to rival Arma, combined with helo ops, and being able to see troops operate with the aircraft, in real time missions in a dynamic campaign, where you know what you are doing could make a difference, fellow aviators on cap high above you, fast jets providing support......................

I voted Dynamic campaign. The replay-ability will increase and we can use the aircraft like they are intended to be used. With every new module the dynamic campaign experience will improve.

I did not choose"Improved multiplayer with dedicated server and online performance tracking", "New combat theater maps" and ATC because that has to be created anyway if you want a good Dynamic Campaign experience. (If only a single player dynamic campaign comes out i will throw my computer out of the window).

 

So if we all choose dynamic campaign we will be almost sure all other aspects of the game have to be improved anyway.

I only play multiplayer, apart from hauling dirt with the huey, so DC does not matter to me. For me its definately the 4th Gen fighters. Better effects and especially sound design is also very importand for a good immersion IMO.

Death is just nature's way of telling you to watch your airspeed. :pilotfly:

I was about to vote for the Dynamic Campaign System, but some other posts here got me thinking... and therefore I voted "other":

 

What I actually would prefer would be a generally improved AI, together with opening DCS and the improved AI for mission creators (-> scripting) more.

There are so many extremely clever guys here that already accomplish things within DCS - let them help even more to come up with intelligent and immersive missions."World AI", "more believable behaviour of infantry" were already mentioned in this thread. Now add also more scritping options to influence AI Units in general (not only infantry), the way they navigate, attack and defend. Add some mechanisms to make mission states (mission parameters, mission variables, etc.) persistent so that related (campaign) missions can re-use them, and together with the creativity of the comunity we will get something even greater than a strictly AI based dyamic campaign.

 

(An idea I(?) already had some time ago was "AI modules". Some sort of "Tactical Commander Module" were 3rd party code, with it's very own logic and algorithms, can take part in a mission and either control vehicles (ground or air). This could help to keep the DCS AI rather lean, but would allow genuine new ideas to be implemented - including a dynamic campaign. It would even help to utilize multi-core CPUs better ... ;o)

 

tl;dr: add more AI behaviour options, let them be controlled by ME scripting and/or external "AI modules"

What I want most is a Mi-24 with multi cockpit but since that is already happening I would want a dynamic campaign.

 

I would love a dynamic campaign with more details than just combat. For example transport helis that we got now, the UH-1H and Mi-8 you have dynamic transport missions with detailed information what you actually do in your mission and the supplies you carry will make a difference for the ground troops or add more ground troops in an outpost.

 

And I really want more connection with ground forces and air. Especially transport helis where you see troops in the heli together with animations like getting in/out.

They are all important, but traffic controls and new maps are up the list with also Multiplayer stability and servers with total controls.

 

No care for new generation aircraft.

 

Having new maps and a good solid multiplayer stable base is probably the most important of all , and after we can build everything on top. Traffic air controls for realism is a must ( big time ) and on but yea all the above less 4th generation aircraft are important

Can someone explain to me what a 'Dynamic Campaign' would mean for DCS? A lot of people seem to want it but I dont see why.
