I'll probably check my handbooks, try to fire up, if it works probably will taxi carefully and trying to be aware of every quirk, then will probably take off also very carefully and by the book so I'll get airborne easily. Then enjoy the ride and go for a stroll with her, trying some manoeuvering, some aerobatics, a bit of envelop limits, but everything very careful and mildly. Then try to land again very carefully and probably achieving it nicely.

After that I'll be overconfident about the "ease" of use and will crash my next hundred takes off, that supposing I arrive safe and sound at runway after taxiing the countryside   .

1st thing, I will buy it. Then make a profile for my gear. Then learn to fly it and fly the pattern with touch and goes. Then get shot down a lot! Seems to me the Spits have a nasty habit of snap-spinning in certain conditions at slow speed.

I'm pretty sure one of the Spit models had a tail-hook for carrier duty, now that would be fun.

The early episodes of the old PBS detective series, "Foyle's War" , now on Netflix, has a few real Spits flying about as this guy's son was a Spit pilot. I did not know they had that many flyable museum quality Spits and guys to fly them.

Is a F4U in the works?

A snap roll after pulling too fast with too much torque. :music_whistling:

If you want to talk to anyone about anything personal, send it to their PM box. Interpersonal drama and ad hominem rebuttal are things that do not belong on a thread viewed by the public.

One thing i have to point out... naming a thread.. "OK, so" is as useful as tits on a bull.

I'll do a walk around, do a cross country flight, a little target practice along the way. A bit of aerobatics to see how she handles, land at my destination, refuel, rearm and do it again on the way back to my point of departure. Land, a perfect flight!...no issues right? I'll report back on how it goes...

Test if it has been given a glass engine, or one that will last for hours at high performance settings as designed and tested to do so by RR.

Well i would say that the Mk9 does not have that big off an overheating issue unless you are on a standstill on the ramp or runway. Spits up to the Mark 5 (please correct if wrong Mark) did have the tendency to overheat quickly on low speed because these only had one radiator for the water behind the wheelbay on the left wing

We will see.

Probably tab out to the forums and read about all the Spit fanatics who will be upset about totally obscure details and performance diagrams from the 1940s

Only one problem with that plan buddy................finding someone to fly the Bf109!! most of us will be in the Spitfire :joystick:

Hit me up when the time comes! While I'm not a fan (in the sense of caring to fly them) of most allied aircraft of the WW2 era, I am anxiously awaiting the chance to mix it up with them! :pilotfly:

I will create a new mission, cold ramp start, and read the manual during my first start-up. It has become a tradition and is a very special moment for me. I never watch tutorials or fly training missions on my first flight. It is always, cold start + manual.
