kotor633 Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 vor 1 Stunde schrieb ThorBrasil: I'm also having problems with the throttle. Most of my modules can't fly because of this bug. Even Kiowa was hit. I also have this problem with the helicopters and those with only one engine (Mirage F1, F-16C, for example). Neither Full Repair, restoring my backups for the control inputs, nor 'Clear Category' or 'Reset category to default' helped here. Finally, I pressed the 'Clear all' button. A window opens in which you have to select the corresponding module (in my case, for testing, SA342 Pilot). After all the entries were deleted, I was able to assign an input again under 'Axis command' in the 'Thrust' line WITHOUT the error (red circle with white exclamation mark) appearing again. Problem solved. But in my opinion this can only be a workaround. I hope ED can fix this as soon as possible. 4 ************************************** DCS World needs the Panavia Tornado! On air link you can use only 250 Mb/s bitrate, on the cable 960. Near 4x more. That is, if that hot garbage even works at all... both Air Link and wired Link have always been quite a laggy mess for me, ever since (Quest 1 since May 2020, went through 2 and 3). Virtual Desktop, however, just works. And yes, I did all those OTT bitrate shenanigans and other "fixes" that I found, nothing ever helped. I do prefer wireless anyways, so that's not the biggest deal for me, luckily. And with my complete and utter bullcrap eyes, I couldn't even tell the difference anyways (I still only use like 120MBit/s over Wifi 5, actually) 1

I just installed it, and it improved my framerate so much I am actually CPU-bound now at times in light missions! Yeah it's one of those that you regret not knowing about months ago! Make sure you use the companion app too as can get much better gains than default. 40% fps increase for me and better clarity. So the quad views app and companion works with this patch on a standard G2 using FFR. 2 1
Benom8 Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) I solved this by clearing the "Thrust" axes on all affected modules, restarting DCS then re-creating the assignments. It may also work if you reassign the binding first, then restart. The restart seems to be the key. Edited July 12, 2024 by Benom8 Added clarification. Added link to post (could not see how to edit in a quote). 1 1
Hotdognz Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Nice patch but breaking VR and quad views negates it all really for me as the FPS are a lot lower, I cant believe they broke Quad views for the Pimax, so even having them here as a partner with a support forum didn't help. Now probably need to wait 6-8 weeks for a fix... 1
Gogsie59 Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) I can't believe folks are complaining that certain mods are broken. Do they expect ED to test every mod to make sure they work. It's surely up to whoever made the mod to make it compatible down the line. Just saying! Everything fine for me, all working good, or course I don't have any mods installed. twistking Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Are the legacy aircraft from "Flaming Cliffs 24" technically the same as the aircraft from the legacy FC pack? In other words: Does DCS differentiate between a (for example) F-15C legacy and a F-15C 24? Are the additional aircraft in FC 24 the only difference between legacy FC and FC 24? In fact, at the beginning of this year, most of the FC aircraft had a big update on interior and exterior models including new cockpits. 1
Gunfreak Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Can someone from ED confirm that Helmand should look like this or if something is wrong? Everywhere I look there are odd graphical bugs, spiky pyramids rising up from the ground, Helmand river not connected all the way, deep square holes. 3 i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 3090, 64Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.
ColinM9991 Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Is there a single thread anywhere for giving feedback on the launcher? I'll post it here for now. This first cut of the launcher is off to a great start. There are 2-3 minor points I have that should hopefully improve the user experience. 1. Use an accordion in the Settings page so that Graphics and VR settings can be moved to tabs. The page is quite busy at the moment. 2. Add an "X" button to the top right. This is where I'd imagine most users would expect such an action to be. 3. It takes around 17 seconds for the launcher to appear from the point of starting it. The initial startup performance should be investigated for any potential areas of improvement and optimization. 4

I can imagine, that the delay is due to checking log in credentials and reading the current config of the game. Don't know though if it can be accelerated. It is a handy addition though. So far I like it. 3 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

It makes sense - I'm wondering if there's a way for the launcher to cache the state for a period of time while exposing functionality on the launcher UI to refresh that state in an event where a user purchases a new module and needs to update their available modules. Once so many days have passed, from the point of that state being cached, the launcher can synchronize against the auth service again to keep up to date. 1
andyfoot Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 The new Launcher, mine was fine on first run of game, now it is blank. I can double click the Launch button and it launches null

I doubt that because I had that waiting time as well and it asked me to log in afterwards, not having migrated over that from the old launcher, so whatever it did all that time before, it did not have any credentials to verify. Edit: Also, I think the problem isn't the delay itself but the way that there is literally no indication of anything happening at all. Then, after you try to launch DCS from the launcher, it opens up four different windows in quick succession and closes them again before getting to the ol' splash screen and beginning the regular loading. -0303- Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 (edited) Restart DCS seems to have fixed both missing FC3 validation and throttle issue on Spitfire. Edit red font. After restart I spawned a Su25 and A10A. Assuming all the other FC3 also present (no warning window after restart). FC3 probably present first start as well. The Mission I spawned includes FC3 planes, I just didn't try to spawn any FC3 until after restart. Thrustmaster Warthog throttle. First start Spitfire missed the throttle. Got the red "!" someone took a (P-51) screenshot of up thread. Did a short takeoff land using +- keys for throttle. Did CLEAR on throttle, reassigned throttle, detected it fine but still not working. Restarted game, throttle now works fine. Only thing now I get the message I can install the FC3 planes, but they're already installed and working. Maybe if I accept reinstalling FC3, I'll get the message "already installed" Accepted reinstall in Module Manager and restarted twice over. Still get the message I can install FC3. After clicking OK (Module Manager) restart happens so fast it's obvious it doesn't try to install anything. Module Manager still insists I can install FC3. Oh Yeah, noted Spit Artificial Horizon is as incorrect and useless as it has been for at least 12 years and counting... On the topic of the launcher……. isn’t one of the points of a launcher is to remain open once the game has been exited, in case changes or tweaks are being made through it. Then you manually shut the launcher down when you’re done?
falcon_120 Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 So far so good for me, only problem i've seen is the FC3 authentication issue that i guess will be fixed soon. Things i love of the new patch after 30 min testing in some free flight missions: New launcher is nice Now smokeless missiles like amraam have contrails if shot up high, its very well done based on some videos of RL shots. The transition of the VR dots its much smoother now, also the dots are much smaller so not so easy to see targets far in the distance, all in all seems much more realistic Radar false targets (seen it in the F18 radar, not yet in the f16 but only flew for 4/5 min so who knows...)
