I hope that there will be enough people interested in becoming good JTAC's/Ground commanders.

 

After all, most of us are pilots and I, for one, will stick to my precious Hog, Fishbed, Shark, Toad and Pony.

 

(Okay I once said to myself: NO, you're not going to buy P51. Then, the open beta was released... :D But this is different :music_whistling:)

Looks pretty cool. I hope the AI is up to the challenge. And I hope any new AI will make two seater helicopters possible in the future :)

 

I don't mind the lack of realism that much, since I believe DCS should be primarily a flight simulator, and I don't want too much time spent on the ground vehicle aspect.

I will definetly try to command ground units and do JTAC tasks.

 

Does the Combined Arms make it possible to just do ground wars between two humans on each side and no aircrafts or heli's?

Hmmm how does control Tunguska look like? Is there radar circle and we pick target up? What if enemy plane turns ECM on? Do we have control over the missile fire parameters?

I just want to say this to the developers.... I LOVE YOU GUY'S. Just seen the glowing Amraam vid. And i was plesently surprised. This is a awesome way to go. DCS WORLD + MODS + FC3 is going to ne my next addiction.

Now only a multi role fighter and AWACS control and my LOVE is complete.

Thank you for all the hard work. Online play is going to be fantastic with this.

Looking forward for other surprises and to fly the mig-21 addon aswell.

Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.

In some ways, this could be more dynamic than any dynamic campaign to date. A commander on each side and some squads of AI and human players...

On another topic, now that we're gonna have CA in this form, is it possible for someone, let's say Hpasp, to release a sam simulator as a module for the series?

Some more questions:

 

- Will there be a spawn / resource management option, or jus have to fight with the vehicles you placed on the mission editor before start?

- Will we have AA radar track / autotrack assistance, like nowdays AA don't turned by "hand" usually.

- Will the forests have collision modell, or we can drive it through?

- Will we have smoke grenades or other countermeasures?

- Can we controll artillery units in first person (aiming)?

- Is infantry inplemented as contollable units?

I don't know about ED strategy for the air defense aspect development but I sent one e-mail to the SAM Simulator developer advising him to take the iniciative to contact ED.

-Currently ground vehicles can't respawn, so whatever is setup in the mission is what you have.

-AAA control is very basic and done by hand. You can lock targets and it will show you where to shoot based on your current movement and the targets movement. SAM's work by locking the target, aiming the launcher, and firing the missile. IR are fire and forget, while the Tunguska requires you to maintain lock.

-Don't know about smoke, but I think its on a wishlist.

-Yes you can control artillery, but its more of a "direct fire" mode.

-Infantry cannot be controlled.

Do you mean you can't control infantry on a personal level, which is understandable of course as CA isn't an FPS, or at the infantry unit level (strategic layer).
