I have 1.2.2.x installed, should I just start fresh with all the latest files or let the auto-update run (forever at 48KB/s)? Will it mess anything up beside save games?

 

With such an old version...does this version even have an autoupdater?

 

Well, if you have the time, you could to an autoupdate since it doesnt mess anything up (at least on my machine). If you dont, you can try to download the whole thing (preferably using the torrent). You will need to reconfigure your controls and youll loose your stats.

In your case I´d redownload everythings and reinstall the whole thing. Update might lead to certain issues...I dont know, it´s just a gues...I´d redownload everythings

OK, as I am still on work I started the update on my rootserver via remote controll. First the update seemed to run properly, but at the end I keep recieveing this message:

Thanks Memphis. After watching the Auto-Updater sit at 48 Kb/s last night I decided to download the complete DCS World and all modules manually, remove everything, then do a fresh install. Installed DCS World 1.2.4 this morning without issue, anything special I should do to reinstall all the updated modules, i.e. sequence of install?

Khm... just played the SU-25T Ground Attack quickstart mission...

...what's the deal with different colored tracers??!?! Some white, some yellow... this sucks... it's not Christmas yet... :D

 

Throw in some rainbow colored ones and rename the mission to SU-25T Nyan Ground Attack and you'll have a winner... :thumbup:

Just wanted to make known how much I like all that is 1.2.4 - a great step/addition with regard to its new core features and yet there are so many more little details. Besides all the disappointment that is often felt with regard to PC-gaming, this here has become some kind of safe haven. Great work!

Yes. This means that groups can be dynamically added to a mission after it has started via scripting and that respawning groups is now a possibility.

 

The continued addition of scripting commands is going to make this game legendary!

General sound experience seems to be ehnanced.

 

External low-frequency rumble of thunders, aircraft engines and explosions seems to be more powerful.

 

Far distance aircraft engines sound seems to be interacting with environment, much more realistic. Did ED add some reverb or something?

Yup... all you DCS junkies that can't wait have been knocking the hell out of the update servers. :joystick: :)

 

I waited... went and got the kids some food (why do they keep wanting that?). Anyhow, just finished the update, downloaded @220Kb, took about 1hr 20mins (my bad internet connection). All my original input and graphics settings preserved :thumbup: Tried accessing the multiplayer, all ok. A quick flight round Potomi in the P51... all ok. :pilotfly:

 

Well done ED, apart from the original overload problems for the update servers... all worked ok.

Yeah, definitely noticed the F15 sounds more throaty. Looks like there have been a few tweaks to the F-15 model as well. Nice 'analogue' afterburner effects and resized drop tanks.

 

Got a feeling this will be next official DCS module :)

 

Edit - would love to see some dynamic fire spitting from the afterburners rather than the static shock cone effect we have now. I'm sure this will come with time though, like wing tip vortices. More pressing issues to sort out at the moment.

Still lands for me like the undercarriage doesn't exist, wheels on runway are like knife through butter and results in belly landing. This never happened in FC2

How is anyone even playing this yet? After about 9 hours now I'm literally about 11% done downloading, at 6.6kb's it's going to take weeks? Comon guys what's the secret to getting this downloaded please?
