F-5, MiG-15 and F-86 might do with a bit of an update too. Oh and Mi-8 and UH-1!8 points

Before we became developers we were part of the DCS community as pilots, some of us are still fly in some virtual groups. There is no reason to feel superior to anyone, if you were not here to support us by following and buying our products I assure you that there would be no third party. We are all one big community. However, if I'm not mistaken on day 1 you can definitely download it as a trial ... in case the price is too high you can wait for the discounts :) unfortunately I understand that currency exchange can be quite disadvantageous in some areas of the world, I'm sorry about that. But first of all you have to think about the priorities, DCS is just a nice game... so the 339 on DCS is now present and will continue to be there, you can get it at any time :) Inviato dal mio ASUS_I005D utilizzando Tapatalk7 points

When it becomes available, yes. And if it's available right away I will certainty try it with an open mind. I swear I might just get it because you guys have a good friendly style about you. It's pleasant change from the occasional snootiness with some other devs.5 points

No, I’m talking about the hundred or so tests I’ve carried out, including other tacviews I’ve posted here where the migs don’t even flinch and 4 Phoenix missiles sail right past them. Katsu has asked if there is something wrong with the missile. The replies on here will be : it must be you, or it must be the mission maker, you’re not high enough, wrong model, not fast enough….. Rather than - “yes there’s something wrong, it was working really well about a month ago, HB are no doubt on the case.” There’s no doubt all these things play a factor, i just think people should answer the guys (or gals) question. yes, Katsu, there’s something wrong. HB/ED will no doubt resolve it in time. or you can get a replacement in Bolton:4 points

The shaving is totally normal. One of mine has been in service since Warthog’s release. The MIC switch had been torn down and cleaned up several times, and finally the whole switch assembly replaced. And the throttle with all the shavings is still ok. Just don’t keep tightening the friction wheel to get higher friction. When it reached equilibrium, leave it be. I mean, you don’t want more shavings, right? Let’s just say the friction is not adjustable, unless you have a lot of consumable pads; it’s a design fail.3 points

Sorry, I'm just seeing your comment now, I'll have a look ASAP. -------------- In the meantime I've update the civilian SAR liveries, from 2k to 8k. Maybe a bit overkill...maybe not. The 2k is still available. Civilian SAR livery 8k3 points

Sounds like you're trying to stretch your $. There are a load of second hand high end X570 Boards because people are upgrading to AM5 right now. It helps that AM4 is as dead end as LGA1700 (intel 12/13). Forget brand new, go to Fleabay, Gumtree, Craiglist etc... Type in X570 and get yourself a bargain of the century, even $150USD gets you a second hand high quality high end board - it also helps that X3D doesn't really care about memory speed due to the buffer the cache gives it. AMD has started discounting the chip now3 points

These look great and I understand product promotion, but I wouldn't mind getting also some shots and vids NOT done at hours with low sun position :). In DCS, "golden hours" make every map look good, but noon hours are a different matter (as Normandy 1 is the unfortunate example of). There's also a question of optimization and performance impact of all this eyecandy - Spitfire vid shows severe stuttering over built-up area (though we don't know what hardware it was recorded on). We'll just have to wait and see I guess.3 points

I‘ll update for BS3 for sure on release…the model looks really awesome. As for the panels, they could be included in an optional process of doing an preflight outside check on cold/ dark startup‘s …a bonus feature for the hardcore simmers, but probably the majority wouldn‘t be interested. So it should be optional by enabling in the AC‘s option menu.3 points

Excuse my bad English. Have you logged in with your account? Only after logging in does the correct price appear, I think 20$.3 points

No, unfortunately not (yet). George pilot currently just sits there, frozen, staring at the incoming missile or tracers, until he gets hit in the face But, luckily, ED already stated this will improve in the future and current George AI is still very much WIP.3 points

try the following: using Windows , rename the folder /saved games/dcs/config/input/MosquitoFBMkVI/keyboard/ to /keyboard.bak now, run DCS again.. does the problem persist?3 points

Would be nice to get the AUF2 bi-bomb rack from Rafaut for the Mirage F1 https://www.rafautgroup.com/fr/skills/auf2/ Get used for years with the F1-CR and F1-CT, example below in 1991 during Operation Daguet:2 points

Was curious about this with the upcoming C-130J. Will it be possible for player driven CA vehicles to have the ability to be driven onto and transported by the C-130? Maybe not airdropped but at least moved from point to point on a map. The ones that would fit anyway, as the C-130 has a payload limit of 42,000 lbs (21 tons), and a height/width limit of 9 feet x 10 feet. Main battle tanks wouldn't fit by being both too large and way too heavy. However most APC's and smaller vehicles would easily fit. This would certainly bring a really cool capability to DCS and Combined Arms.2 points

This. While I’ll get the BS3. It’s a bit of an annoyance that these mentioned modules are in much greater need of a refresh than BS2.2 points

That's not how it works, reprojection will only disable once you are above refresh rate (plus overheads). Therefore using 90Hz refresh rate, anything more than 11ms and less than about 20ms will reproject to 45fps. Anything more than 20ms and less than about 30ms will reproject to 30fps. Steam only had the capacity to reproject down to 45fps, anything less than this and it's disabled entirely and it becomes very janky.2 points

Dunno, I might see a slight lowering in FPS, a bit, and at the place you say in the very beginning over plenty of houses, but "stutter"? I don't see any stutter at all by the way the same I clearly saw them in the initial Syria videos or Normandy v1.0 when first released, those were pretty obvious. So, as far as it keeps like that in the whole map bearing in mind it's still unreleased, unoptimized and unpolished, it's good for my money.2 points

@Ala13_ManOWar Yup, I'm watching it in highest quality YT can offer on PC as well, and there's quite a lot of stuttering in first dozen or so seconds when the player looks sideways towards the buildings. Granted, it becomes smoother once he gest to airbase and fields. Let's hope it's just a result of whatever video capture software he was using during that flight. I like the later comparison shots BTW.2 points

Personally, I only wish the radio menu was more VR friendly. I understand your proposal and appreciate the effort you made in your OP, honestly. I do agree your suggestion is probably better than what we have now. But also, I think this will be very VR user unfriendly It's really sad to see that VAICOM is abandoned and I really hope ED will some day implement something like VAICOM to their core game. Nothing beats operating the radio by using your voice imho.2 points

Sounds like you made a good choice! Sounds very tempting, maybe I'll put it my Christmas list.2 points

Got it installed today, must say I'm very happy about the results. Did not do any scientific testing, but the fps on the ground and on the supercarrier is noticeably better. With 5800X I usually stayed in the low 40s on a populated SC (Single player) with frequent drops below 30fps. With the X3D the average FPS was about 45 and very rarely dropped below 40. Much more stable!! Saw the same types of improvement on the ground in the South Atlantic map, this was unplayable for me before with 25fps, now I was at about 40+. Did also a quick test flight on the Hoggit Training Server, which usually is a lag/stutter fest for me, saw improvements here as well but it was not perfect. At least made it playable To sum up I'm very happy with the upgrade! I decided to pull the trigger now while I was still able to sell my 5800X for a reasonable price and do not regret it!2 points

Unfortunately that's the way it is. For example, the guy you've linked previously uploaded an RTX4090 "test" on 11th Oct. That's the day when press embargo has been lifted, but the cards were not yet available to buy, and more importantly, the drivers which worked with 4090 were not yet available for download. Only the selected reviewers received them earlier. What are the chances nvidia would send a kit to this random guy? Not very high. Yes, they give cards to smaller reviewers and various influencers as part of marketing campaign, but those people are usually expected to show the card on a video, talk about it, etc. You know, do some marketing work or at least make an actual review and not just drop a bunch of numbers on the screen in total silence.2 points

The advantage about the x3d is in its cache....the results differs based on the resolution just because higher res moves the bottleneck towards the GPU...but the advantage of the cache remains. I think that in VR and MP the x3d has a big advantage. Probably I will switch to it later this year2 points

Thanks! Haven't had the chance to try out yours yet. It looks really nice too Any meaningful change to the 3d model will come later alongside other "accessories" for the different variants. Next update will just include the new skins and the new folder structure made by eddie. @crazyeddieGorgeous liveries, thanks a lot! Get well soon mate. Looking forward to yours to @Neo47 Work on the ship pack continues, it's more consequent than I thought. LODs, collision models and night lighting, not particulary thrilling but I'm getting there. I might release other stuff in the meantime, tho. I did some cleanup in my mod folder and realised there were quite a few mods necessiting minimal work before being ready to ship.2 points

I fully appreciate it isn't finished, and WIP, and BETA, and EA, etc. What I was attempting to get at, perhaps badly, was that right now if you are saying the control indicator does not actually indicate the control position then trying to learn what the aircraft does/how the systems work is somewhat difficult. I realise it's all written in the manual, but as you have stated before the manual reflects how the real system works and how the DCS system will work in the future, it doesn't reflect the actual software we have right now. While it's obviously technically true to say "it's EA/WIP, stuff might be wrong" that's not too helpful to us mere mortals trying to learn to use this thing. Equally, from the 2nd post you've written it seems like you are saying "the green indicators MIGHT" be inaccurate not "they absolutely are inaccurate, because of x". For clarity I'm no ED bashing, I'm not trying to complain because it's EA and I want it better/faster/more correct, and I fully understand software development and the various pulls on dev time, budgets, coding expertise, etc, etc My only point is, if the control indicators are ACTUALLY KNOWN to be inaccurate then that is a bug, and a pretty big one. It's also one that is basically impossible for the user to identify without serious hacking the code or some VERY detailed testing. So far you're the only person I've seen suggest that the control indicator doesn't reflect the actual control positions. Either the ED devs think it is accurate (in which case I'm not arguing because I can't detect if it is accurate or not) or they think it isn't accurate, and it should be bug reported internally. Either way it seems like a simple thing to check.2 points

@Raz_Specter You might want to re-read the first post, it’s a comparison between camera height, not weather the F-16 is there or not. When the camera is low the FPS tanks to 50% of what it should be, move the camera a little higher and it suddenly jumps back up to what it should be. This is what’s making this map completely unplayable for me in VR. At low level it’s a slideshow, climb 1000ft and it’s smooth. I have zero issues with Syria.2 points

Don't worry, it's already reported. It's only a matter of years until it will be improved.2 points
