Hello, A-4E-C pilots! We hope you are well. We'd like to highlight a few important items about this update, and salute the newest group of contributors to the A-4E-C project, whose names appear in the changelog below: This update, A-4E-C 2.1.0, and all subsequent updates will not be compatible with DCS versions before 2.8.0.32066. Our last update, A-4E-C 2.0.1, is not compatible with DCS versions after 2.7.18.30765. The most common effects of these incompatibilities are client-side crashes. Always ensure servers, clients, and DCS versions employed are the most compatible options available! If you enjoy suppression of enemy air defences (SEAD) in the A-4E-C, we've provided new functionality and depth to the audio environment of the AN/APR-25 Radar Homing and Warning System. New sounds specific to radar types and individual units in the DCS World theatre make getting locked up a whole new ballgame. Additionally, ECM is modelled when the AN/APR-25 function selector is in the RPT position. Additional documentation is provided in the changelog below and in the kneeboard manual. We've added new audio feedback for braking. This feedback is extremely useful for understanding ground handling response: If you hear a tire skidding, you are locking up the nosewheel by over-braking, and you should take this as a cue to release the brake, before tapping the brake toward your desired turn (and add a little throttle if you need to). This update also includes efforts to make piloting more accessible. Dozens of new input bindings for keyboard, mouse, and joystick inputs offer a wealth of opportunities for custom controller builders. Users with extensive input bindings might need to do a bit of housekeeping, but we hope the new additions make up any efforts you have to undertake! If you are interested in adding to the module's accessibility options, please reach out on Discord! Thank you for flying the A-4E-C! Download A-4E-C Version 2.1.0 - 30 Oct 2022 Added Systems: AN/APR-25 RHWS (ECM) With the AN/APR-25 Function Selector Switch set to REC and the APR-25 Switch in the ON position, a baseline system hum and response audio from a wide variety of radar-equipped units is produced at a volume determined by the the (inner) AN/APR-25 PRF Volume knob. When the APR-27 Switch is in the ON position, detected missile launches from SA-2 S-75 "Fan Song" will produce an oscillating alert tone at a volume determined by the (outer) AN/APR-25 Missile Alert Volume knob. The system's bit test is available to perform. With the AN/APR-25 Function Selector Switch set to REC, press the APR-27 Test button to initiate the bit test. With the system in AN/APR-25 Function Selector Switch set to RPT, ECM will attempt to jam incoming radar signals. The green RPT light will enable when the system transmits. Liveries: Community A-4E V: Blue Team, 2022 (Fictional) Community A-4E V: Red Team, 2022 (Fictional) USN VX-5 Vampires, 1986 (Fictional) USMC Naval Weapons Evaluation Facility, 1974 Operational-era USN and USMC liveries now have a customized, well-worn LAU-10 launcher. Quality of Life: Input accessibility options: Added two UI Override inputs, which allow joysticks, gamepads, and other input devices to utilize mouse functions, or to use as modifiers in input layouts. Input options previously available only on keyboards or joystick devices can now be bound to mouse button inputs. Throttle - Slew axis. Dual-axis rudder inputs (Rudder Left and Rudder Right). Zoom axis inputs for fine zoom control across devices: Zoom View In, Zoom View Out, Zoom View - Slew, Zoom View In - Slew, and Zoom Out - Slew. Throttle Increment slider in the special menu is available to adjust throttle rate for Throttle Increment/Decrement inputs. A Custom Throttle Rate slider in the special menu allows you to adjust the acceleration rate for the new Custom Throttle Rate inputs. The keyboard defaults for these are RCTRL+PageUp and RCTRL+PageDown, respectively. A Wheelbrake Differential axis is useful for mapping a single axis to the opposing left and right wheelbrakes. Trim Speeds in the special menu are now adjustable by individually for elevator (pitch), aileron (roll), and rudder (yaw), with percentage sliders. These settings also affect the Trim Reset (Hold) speed. (thanks Drofseh) A pair of comprehensive gamepad input presets for Xbox and PS4 controllers are included, which utilize many of the above functions. Once you are up and running in the pit, you can enjoy flying the A-4E-C with nothing but a humble gamepad and no additional software needed. (Thanks, Tuuvas) Single inputs for the Canopy Lever. You can close the canopy with LSHIFT+C, and open it LSHIFT+LCTRL+C. (thanks Tanuki44) Single and else inputs for Throttle Position Lock. Input option for cycling the Bomb Arm Switch between the OFF, NOSE & TAIL and TAIL positions. The keyboard default for this input is 6. Single inputs for the AWRS Quantity Selector Switch, AWRS Drop Interval Knob, and AWRS Mode Selector Switch. Single inputs for AN/ARN-52 TACAN Mode switch. Absolute and slew axis inputs for AN/APR-53A Radar Indicator Brilliance, Detail, Gain, Reticule, and Storage knobs. Radar Antenna Tilt Continuous CW and Radar Antenna Tilt Continuous CCW have been assigned a keyboard default (- and =, respectively). Inputs for APR-27 Test, APR-27 Light buttons. Absolute and slew axis inputs for AN/APR-25 Missile Alert Volume, AWRS Drop Interval Knob, Gunsight Elevation Control, Gunsight Light Control, Instrument Lights Control, Shrike/Sidewinder Volume Knob, TACAN Volume Knob, and White Floodlights Control. Some non-axis inputs associated with these have been renamed. Users with extensive control schemes should adjust their controls to resolve any conflicts. (thanks gcask) Input for Chaff Dispenser Select - Toggle 1/2. Inputs for common communications, including A/A refuelling - "Ready for precontact" radio call, and Ask AWACS available tanker. (thanks gcask) When the aircraft has power, the Seat Adjustment Switch can be used to move the baseline pilot head position up and down in the cockpit. (thanks nima3333) Kneeboard Manual: A a chart of weapon stations and their associated loadout options (page 3-7) in the kneeboard manual. An overview of the included Xbox1 and PS4 gamepad layouts are available at the end of the kneeboard manual (pages 6-6 and 6-7). Sounds: AN/APR-25 RHWS (ECM): AAA: New sounds are produced in response to the Fire Can SON-9 fire director radar. Aircraft: New sounds are produced in response to aircraft search and tracking radars. EWRs and Ships: Unique sound sets are produced in response to ground and ship EWRs. A new sound is also produced in response to ship tracking radars. SAMs: New sounds are produced in response to the P19 "Flat Face" and S-200 ST-68U "Tin Shield" and SA-2 S-75 "Fan Song" sarch and tracking radars. Some Fan Song units will sound different, simulating the sound of different radar bands used in the field. New sounds are also produced in response to the SA-3 S-125 "Low Blow", SA-5 S-200 "Square Pair", and SA-6 Kub "Straight Flush" units. The number of different sounds a each radar produces varies by unit, so pilots will need to learn what their ears are telling them about what type SAM is targeting them, and how much launch warning that SAM provides from its PRF audio. SPAAA Vehicles: New sounds are produced in response to the Gepard, Vulcan M163, and ZSU-23-4 Shilka "Gun Dish" radars. Sounds are produced if the left or right wheels are skidding. Use this feedback to help you learn to taxi (as a sound you don't generally want to hear), and to avoid damaging the wheels or locking up the brakes by keeping them depressed for too long. Seat adjustment hydraulic motor. Fixed Systems: Setting the AN/ARN-52 TACAN mode to REC no longer crashes the client. Addressing this issue means that A-4E-C 2.0.1 is not compatible with DCS versions after 2.7.18.30765, and A-4E-C 2.1.0 and later is not be compatible with DCS versions before 2.8.0.32066. AN/APG-53A Radar Terrain Clearance - PROFILE/PLAN switch input binding functions properly. Input from non-axis throttle inputs now cause the APC system to disengage properly. Liveries: Community A-4E III: Forever Free livery displays two digits on the flaps, matching the nose and tail. Weapons and Loadouts: CBU-2B/A pod weights are calculated correctly. Weapon release and spread cause fewer collision-based self-destructs when the weapon is released. Quality of Life: Throttle Increment and Throttle Decrement inputs function properly. The trim reset input now properly adjusts the position of the Rudder Trim Switch. Kneeboard Manual: Waypoints on the navigation page enumerate 11 waypoints, and can't overrun the instructions on the page. Placing a 300 gallon tank on the centre pylon enumerates properly on the kneeboard loadout page. Corrected erroneously listed procedures for ground radar. Corrected erroneous procedures for air refuelling. VR hand positions: Users are encouraged to enable Use Hand Controllers, Hand controllers use Cockpit Stick, and Hand Controllers use Cockpit Throttle, and Hand Interaction Only When Palm Grip is Obtained. Be aware that it is easy to accidently power down the engine if you touch it with your virtual index finger while holding the grip button. Always approach the throttle with your finger above it. Changed Missions: Changed a few liveries in the included mission sets to better reflect available livery sets. Liveries: Unmarked and Community liveries are now available to a wider selection of countries. Updated USN VC-1 Challengers. Updated a few knob textures. Weapons and Loadouts: In multiplayer, the serve, and any connected clients must all use this version of the module (or later) in order to prevent weapon conflicts arising from custom weapons. Quality of Life: Default inputs for Throttle Position Lock are set to RCTRL+HOME (Step Up) and RCTRL+END (Step Down). Emergency Stores Release Handle default input changed to LCTRL+J. (think J for jettison!) Differential wheelbrake inputs default inputs are changed to LCTRL+W (left) and LALT+W (right). The controls indicator's nosewheel caster indicator now displays logarithmically, making it easier to see those early changes in castering and better reflect nosewheel sensitivity to turn rate. (thanks, Drofseh). Refactored the special menu for easier editing in the future. Kneeboard Manual: Added additional guidance and notes on AN/APR-25 RHWS (ECM) operation. Sounds: Improved input response and dynamic range of AN/APR-25 PRF Volume, AN/APR-25 Missile Alert Volume, Shrike/Sidewinder Volume, and TACAN Volume knobs. Reduced the relative volume of the AN/APR-25 operational "hum".16 points

The placement of the MG wasn't optimal. I moved it back so it could provide 360° coverage. And added a couple of variants, now mounting a Mk-19 and a M1349 points

Hello guys, I'll be adjusting the mod to 2.8 standards this week. Stay tuned! Barthek8 points

Because it is not a very valid statement. 15GB is nothing for a module/ addon / DLC by today's industry standards. And it is also not true that because we have 12GB of liveries it equals of instantly filling up 12GB of your VRAM, or hampers your performance. It may result in slightly longer loading times, but that is it. It does not work that way. Once DCS gets mip based texture streaming this will be even less of an issue, or basically no issue at all anymore. 1GB of diskspace = roughly 10 cents for the fastest disk you can get these days. That is precisely a whopping 1.2 USD worth of diskspace for our liveries... Let us move on please. We won't change it. We however would not oppose a DCS-wide livery manager. But that wish should be addressed to ED, not us.7 points

Hi Devs, I love the 339 so far and you have done an overall great job as far as I'm concerned. This said - your approach to blinded mirrors is plain awful. Blinding/deactivating mirrors is crucial in DCS due to the big performance impact, but your implementation is a major immersion breaker. Please reconsider. There are good examples and different approaches out there. Blacking them, giving them a silvery shiny but blind appearance (which I would prefer, like in the F1 e.g.). But that is of course a matter of taste. But, please, no minecraft blocky placeholders like that.... Thank you for considering!6 points

Thanks for your response. VAICOM has been probably abandoned but is magnificient piece of software. Didn't die by himself. Simply ED have cut it out by changing something in the network interface (sockets). As soon as I have some time I'll write a small program to test sockets in 2.8 But I read in the forum that some people are complaining that other add-ons have ceased to work as well. ED is not supposed to take VAICOM under their wing it if they don't want to. But there is no need to shut the door and cut it out especially if they cannot prove themselves to be ready to provide good ATC solutions shortly. To tell the truth I'm not trusting ED so much now. I wouldn't be surprised if DCS was abandoned in the future if ED don't enlarge their visionI wouldn't be surprised if DCS would be abandoned in the future if ED doesn't enlarge their vision Like someone wrote we ara a niche and they have limited resources. Partnership is the main way for the future. Most big companies have already understood it by ages In any case: 2.8 is an openBETA. Hopefully ED is monitoring reactions and will amend if possibile.6 points

We are sorry to disappoint you about pricing, but our aircraft is not in early access state so the launch discount are not applicable. The price is in line with the other two trainer competitors (today's price not applicable due to sales). Furthermore, it is not possible to compare the nice sim version with the DCS one. The nice sim version is like the free mod with the working navigation system. This now DCS version is full of features that ED listed in their newsletter yesterday. It is not the re-textured mod, but it is a completely new aircraft. In terms of development, the nice sim version was made in three months, the DCS one was made in three years. We invested a lot of time in the DCS version, we think that this is the right price considering the aircraft category. If the problem is the price due to your world region, I would suggest to wait until the sale. Unfortunately we cannot offer different prices to anyone, it could be hard to manage and it is not fair to those who have paid full price for it. OverlordBot is an Open Source SimpleRadioStandalone voice enabled AWACS and ATC Bot. * It has been installed on over 80 public and private multiplayer servers * It processes around 100,000 transmissions and about 3 days worth of audio per month * Over 600 players have submitted voice training sets to help the bot recognise them * The Discord has over 1,300 members. Currently OverlordBot implements all its features using internal code. It does not call any ED provided scripting APIs to implement its AWACS and ATC functions (Because there are none that are applicable to these use-cases). However it can also act as a simple voice-to-command proxy to the DCS functions that ED makes available to the Mission Scripting Environment so that those functions can be triggered using voice commands that are transmitted over SRS (Just like in real life, the radio voice channel is the communication method and requests and responses can be heard by everyone tuned in). I would like to give players the ability to call into the new ED ATC, that is currently under development, without needing to use the F10 radio menu, other mouse / keyboard based UI or requiring local mods and also generate the response using a TTS system. Providing a full two-way voice UI will increase immersion and make ATC radio calls more natural for both transmitters and receivers. Therefore this request is is to expose the APIs required so that we can trigger the functions that would otherwise be triggered by clicking on the existing F10 radio menu. For example, if there were an F10 radio command under a specific airfield for `Inbound` then there would be a mission scripting API along the lines of result = atc.callInbound(airfield_id, unit_name, transmit_pilot_voice = false, transmit_atc_voice = false) -- transmit_pilot_voice will determine if the in-game pilot states the request with the pre-recorded audio snippets. -- true means transmit using the pre-recorded audio snippets. Useful for things like Voice Attack where the player is not transmitting over voice comms -- false means there is no audio transmission sent as other players will already have heard the request over SRS and OverlordBot triggered the action -- transmit_atc_voice will determine if the in-game ATC replies with the pre-recordded audio snippests -- true means that the ATC transmits the response in-game -- false means that the ATC does not transmit a response in-game (Will be used by OverlordBot that will speak the response from the result) -- Result table contains structured pertinent information including the text of what the ATC would say or a structure containing the data that would be needed to turn into spoken text. If ED action this request then I would be happy to discuss this bit in more detail. (There would probably need to be some sort of push mechanism or method that can be polled for updates to be transmitted when ATC wants to contact the player. A new event in the event steam would be a good method I think, happy to discuss that if ED proceeds with this request.) As this new ATC is in active development I hope this request can be actioned more easily in the code being written now. A side request would be to expose the existing radio APIs so that we can do the same thing (For example being able to contact tankers via voice for air-to-air refueling operations).5 points

Gang, don't delete your Vaicom just yet. There is a fix that is being worked on in the Discord Vaicom community. They have got Vaicom working correctly again and are putting together a zipped file and install directions. It has been tested and everything seems to work. Should be out in a day or two.5 points

Since I have been testing the DCS since yesterday (I changed the CPU a few days ago), I was wondering what was going on, I noticed a drop in FPS as well. My favorite test - the Caucasus, mountains, lots of trees (forest), flying 20-50 meters over the ground and looking sideways 90 degrees to the direction of flight was much worse than on the i9 9900K, and now I have the i9 13900KF. Motion reprojection cant hold stable 45 fps and sutter is present as well. Too bad - but now I know the reason and I can actually confirm it. Something happened to the light / shadows which is causing too much demand for FPS in 2.8. With FPS shadows off and the reprojection back to normal, a stable 45fps with this flight, but previously I had MEDIUM shadows plus terrain object shadows on FLAT ONLY. Now I only have the same FPS like 2.7 on ..... OFF in 2.8. This is a tragedy Why does nobody in the DCS beta team fly in VR non-stop? I think there are people who only turn on for a moment (maybe), but it's not a test after all. This patch shouldn't come out like this. In fact, it does not give us much, the clouds are still not corrected and the stairs on clouds are visible in all their glory like one year before in VR. I dont like it :/.5 points

If 12 GB of liveries is such a problem, then what will you do the next time DCS enlarges a Map? or if you purchase one of the aircrafts on your wishlist? … hard drive space is the cheapest item on a DCS-capable PC, so just bite the bullet and buy a new drive … think of all the gorgeous liveries you will be able to enjoy5 points

The fact that there is plenty of third parties affected confirms what I was thinking: it's not an issue with VAICOM. The major part of the source code (VAICOM is written in C# .NetFramework 4.7.2) should hardly be offended by changes in DCS so far. There should be something wrong with changes in the network protocol by ED. They simply don't communicate any more at all. I think it should be up to ED developers to fix the issue by being backward compatible with the previous interface. I'm not pleased by 2.8 and have reverted back to 2.7. Frankly rainbows and moving clouds add less immersion than VAICOM does!5 points

Being committed and realistic at the same time is not exclusive. We're trying our best, but we don't want to promise anything yet, because of the reasons as mentioned in @Cobra847's reply.5 points

We will do that, once we are done with the Jester overhaul. This will still take a bit unfortunately. But as things may likely still change, doing it now and changing it again later would break your profiles yet again, hence we opt to wait with that for now.5 points

Yes a loft assist will improve the missiles performance. You just have to understand that by doing so you are risking the missile doing something unpredictable like flipping over backwards or not guiding properly. If thats worth you doing a pitch up to help out then sure go for it. If you get absolutely infuriated if the missile messes up once, then maybe stay away from it and just stick to the recommended employment which is straight and level. It should be mostly fixed to my understanding, but there is no guarantee that if you start employing it outside the recommendation that it wont start doing crazy backflips or start doing some of the strange things that happened before. Thats really all that Ironmike or anyone is saying by the recommended employment. If you want to get the best chance of things working as intended, employ straight and level. If you want potentially better kinematics and performance BUT at the risk of the missile doing something untoward an unknowable amount of the time, that’s what the loft assist can buy you. At this point its kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place with what can be done to it for flight guidance. All employment options are options but you the user must understand what you are risking by going for a min max employment mindset. 9/10 times it will probly work fine, but 1/10 it may just yote itself into nowhere, and right now that is not something that can be controlled with any guarantee without going back to prepatch loft values.4 points

Well yeah, some arguments are just pure verbalized frustration. You can´t buy something that is not for sale, or when its owner isn´t here anymore or is not available... You can´t just steal the mod with whole know-how and continue its development just because someone dropped its support. At the moment there is no future for Vaicom Pro until there is an official update, which probably won´t happen. In this forum it is obvious, that there were a lot of Vaicom Pro users and that it was important part of DCS experience for many of us. Now we can call it a gap on the market, which can be filled by anyone else, who is able to do so. Maybe Eagle Dynamics will fill this gap someday, but I´m not sure if this will happen at all as we can see they´re busy with modules they already sold, and that it takes years to finish modules that were in early access. They have limited resources, so they must use it wisely. We´re still lacking other important stuff as well, such as (official) dynamic campaign... But aircraft simulators aren´t the main focus of the gaming market, we are not that big community, and there is no way that any company could keep itself alive just from us buying a single modul years ago. This can´t finance the support for this very single product in the next few years, so they must divide their resources between old modules and new ones (new market opportunities) and can´t focus on big new tasks and try to finish them in just couple of months. So I´m not being very optimistic and won´t expect the ED to do about Vaicom Pro issue anything, it´s not their business and building a new similar mod would cost resources. But - it is a new business opportunity, I´d definitely buy it4 points

I read some nonsense here. Of course I'm really sad that vaicom stopped working, but "ED should buy vaicom license", "l'm not buying more modules until...", "ED should immediately add at least basic functionality" are totally absurd. Vaicom is a mod, it's not up to ED to think on how make a mod keep working. It's obviously not the same thing but you can map F1 to F10 to your voiceattack profile and use ED's communication menu. You definitely do not need to press on a keyboard if you fly VR.4 points

I strongly disagree with this statement. Not only are we extremely grateful and lucky to have such talented skin makers give their free time to us, but we also think their skins are a) very accurate and b) very well done and beautiful. We stand 100% behind them, without even the slightest whiff of doubt. There is really no need to be so derogative, even if you don't like them, for whatever reason. That's just your opinion, and while you are absolutely entitled to that, it is only one opinion among many and can also be said in a much nicer way. Those folks who make these skins for us really don't deserve that.4 points

Awesome, thanks for the fast reply. Really glad to know it is on the cards for the future! From a personal perspective I would rather deal with a broken VA profile every few updates than not have that functionality for months, but I do understand the devs decision (and of course don’t know the full situation)! Thanks again.4 points

Version - 2024-05-20 - Adjusted JDAM and LGB to have US Navy skins, adjusted loadout mission 1. Version - 2.9.A001a - Updated Oct. 26, 2023 - Mission 04 - Fixed Briefing - Mission 12 - Fixed trigger so certain aircraft are not invulnerable. Version - 2.9.A001 - UPDATED OCTOBER 19, 2023 - Unlimited Fuel for AI Wingmen, Scritps/Triggers updated, Silenced Wingman in Mission 3 (eliminate spam) Welcome to Bold Cheetah, a realistic and challenging 13 mission campaign for the DCS F/A-18 Hornet that will test both your and your aircraft to the limits. DOWNLOAD LINK: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3326679/ Before we get into the details, there are some requirements that you need to be aware of before downloading and flying this campaign. • You MUST own the DCS F/A-18C Hornet Module • You MUST own the DCS Persian Gulf Map ** YOU MIST OWN THE DCS SUPERCARRIER TO OKAY THIS CAMPAIGN! ** Mission documents are included in the zip file. Please read the Bold Cheetah Campaign overview for more details on installation. ******************** Bold Cheetah is designed for a player who is proficient in the use of the DCS F/A-18C Hornet module and its weapons systems. You will also require knowledge of US Carrier operations and how to conduct operations off both aircraft carriers and land bases. Examples of challenges you will need to be able to perform include: 1. Case 1 and Case 3 operations, day and night 2. Ability to meet time over target requirements 3. Dynamic re-tasking in a fast-paced combat environment 4. Advanced targeting pod and weapon system employment 5. Formation flying. In addition, familiarity with US military terms and abbreviations is helpful to understand what is happening once in flight. A glossary of useful terms is located at the end of this guide to help you out. ******************** INSTALLATION This campaign is designed and tested for DCS the latest Open Beta version.. I will endeavour to keep it updated as new Open Beta versions are released. I highly recommend players use the Open Beta version of DCS to get the most from this campaign. This means it will not work well on any version of DCS that is not the latest. Unzip the contents of the download to your C:\Users\YOURNAMEHERE\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Missions\Campaigns\en folder. Since there is not currently an Iranian F-14 skin in game, I have used the amazing IRIAF Blue-Grey skin by Sadjad_Vosoul, which can be downloaded here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3304485/ Download and extract that file into your C:\Users\YOURNAMEHERE\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\F-14B folder. If you do not have a folder named F-14B, then you can create one in that location, then extract the contents. If you do not do this, the Iranian F-14 in-game will visually appear to be an American Tomcat. Once you download and install the campaign and skin, you will find it in the “My Campaigns” section listed as F/A-18C – Bold Cheetah. ******************** SITUATION UPDATE JUNE 1, 2013 The USS Abraham Lincoln and its task group have taken up station in the Gulf of Oman, and will soon commence air operations in support of the invocation of Article 5. The objective of our presence is to deter the Iranians from any military expansion in the region, and to show our allies that we are here for them. Our goal is to provide support to the UAE governments in fighting the growing insurgency on the peninsula. US, British, Canadian and French special forces are now on the ground, helping advise the UAE military in counter insurgency strategy. The air wing will provide assistance to this effort, including Close Air Support over and on UAE territory, and air defense of UAE and Saudi Arabian airspace. At this time, we will not be commencing any military action against any regular Iranian military force, nor will we violate the 12-mile Iranian territorial waters or 12-mile airspace boundary. However, we will be ready to strike, if and when called upon. It is hoped that once the regime in Tehran gets a taste of our presence in the region, cooler heads will prevail and they will de-escalate. ******************** More information is included in the Docs folder inside the .zip file. ******************** Author’s Note As you may know, the release of Bold Cheetah has been delayed for quite some time. In fact, the campaign has been completed for well over a year now, but due to some real-life challenges I had to put off submitting it as an official, 3rd party developer. These challenges are continuing, and I foresee them continuing into the near future. This situation has, unfortunately, caused me to pause my pursuit of releasing Bold Cheetah as a 3rd party, paid DLC. At the same time, I’m aware that I’ve been promising it’s been “coming soon” for far too long. I have decided to release the campaign, for free, into the User Files section of the ED website. I started working on Bold Cheetah back in 2018 and finished it up in 2021. It’s been a lot of hard work, and I’m really excited for you to finally enjoy it and I look forward to your feedback. Dear Sir, You forgot air density... And guess what, if you divide your result (1.65) by 1.225 (approx air density at sea level) you find 1.343 points

It's very beautiful, the detail of some buildings is superb but allow me, this is a constructive criticism: There is not much historical research on these WWII airfields! The layout of the taxiways and runways does not conform to what it was at the time, the buildings (Blister Hangar, Blast pens Type E or Type B) do not exist or are badly placed and this is very unfortunate. The airfields on the channel map are more faithful to what they were during ww2. I think DCS wants to be as realistic as possible. Don't take this the wrong way but that's my opinion. I opened a discussion post with info on the arrangement of airfields with their buildings here: Otherwise, it looks like a great map ! Thanks a lot !3 points

another thing to try is make a copy of the entire CONFIG folder "CONFIG.date" DCS Update Witching Utility by Bailey has buttons to do this too. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3315428/3 points

Here´s the deal. What´s the point of insisting that people who have more storage and better rigs shouldn´t have nice skins? Because people who aren´t as lucky have to go through couple extra steps to nurse their systems? All i can hear is this: "We can´t enjoy it, so no one should!". If i may be so blunt.. if you have a crappy pc, you should be very familiar with having to go through some extra hoops here and there. I´ve been there, and it never even occurred in my mind that i should take away something from others when i could sort it for me, myself. If it becomes "download as you like" thing, then it would quite literally give the same extra hassle for everyone.. and i bet the "can barely run this thing" rigs are a minority.3 points

It's tough not to feel a bit bad about it. But anyone who is in business is going to encounter people who are priced out, so to speak. It's one of the costs of doing business. On the plus side, you're not offering an essential service, like food or heat, so you're not watching someone go cold and hungry. Also, the base game is actually free, there are alternatives to your product, there are free trials, and there are sales. You did your work, we have choices, so in all truth everything is okay.3 points
