Hey Guys, Thanks for the feedback. As mentioned after my next release I will be working backward to correct a a few issues with some of the AI Ship mods. To include FPS drop on the USS Oak Hill, Blue Ridge, and San Antonio. I will add Allure and CPL Shipping to the list plus many others. It's known that the FPS drop is due to the Collision model created for the USS Oak Hill which I will replace. My Shipyard will be busy. I forgot to mention. Thank you, Flag02004 for sharing the wake files with the community. I really appreciate it. I've found the wake files don't look good on the smaller Corvette size vessels. Project 205 Moskit OSA 1 and OSA 2 are next to be released. Still a WIP!13 points

Congratulations to the winners of the competition and thanks to all who participated! A large batch of truly exceptional skins are the result. It's apparent that everyone spent quite a bit of time in research and in the actual making of the skins. I learned quite a bit about the history of the B-17 and the brave crews operating them. At first, it seemed strange to spend time on an aircraft that I can't fly in the sim but realized the benefit to be able to create historically accurate missions and dazzling screenshots / videos. Thanks to @NineLine @BIGNEWY and the ED team for presenting the competition!7 points

Any chance you could do an NPC-only MQ-28 Drone? feels like it'd be perfect to have the Ghost Bat as a wingman in DCS5 points

Indeed. Especially strange to see it from a user who has a 4090 and Pimax Crystal, which only started to work with AMD cards very recently. And there are plenty of VR devices which don't work at all (e.g. Varjo Aero) or have limited capabilities on AMD cards (all video streaming HMDs with bitrate limitations). DLSS/DLAA is simply better, and I'm glad that the best was chosen over other techniques, I'd want the same for my customers too if I were in ED. I assume ED has all the hardware data and decision to go with DLSS/DLAA to cover the vast majority of users with a significant improvement was likely based on that. Don't get me wrong, I'm all in for fair competition, but I'm not going to suffer to prove a point and buy an AMD card for VR. Honestly, every time AMD releases their cards I want to buy them, but then I choose NVIDIA because they are just better overall for my task at that point in time. If I needed a card for 2D only I'd seriously consider AMD, but then I'm not sure that people need any more performance in 2D in DCS - it runs very well already even on a midrange card. If AMD doesn't care about me as a VR simmer why should I care about AMD and limit the outcome so 15% of people can get something too?5 points

Agreed. I've always heard DCS was better with Nvidia and that most DCS flyers are Nvidia users, so it makes sense to start improvements in that direction. That's why I upgraded to a 4070. DCS was my only concern when looking at a new card. And honestly, this endless talk about "splitting the community" is tiresome. If we want 100% equality in all things, we'll have to play DCS on an Xbox. And that would be gross.5 points

Even if so. I prefer to cherish what I get than to worry what I don’t (yet). There is a lot of „under-the-hood“ stuff in here, both game-mechanics- and engine-tech- wise. You have to start somewhere, and for me that sounds like rather big steps, compared to the ones we usually get with an update. Also, other than a new module (which is of course always welcome ), this stuff affects basically everything and everybody. Edit: I seem to have a than/then weakness today….4 points

There is nothing wrong with the Gorshkov. The most likely issue is that you have installed someone else's mod which uses my code without making it unique, hence creating a conflict. Edit: As a general statement, I have all my 100+ assets installed at all times so that I would notice if one of them would break DCS. I also scan my DCS log every time I release a new asset to make sure I haven't added an issue, no matter it being a warning or an error.4 points

What are you talking about? With or without DLSS the MP stays exactly the same - you can play with the same people regardless of their vcard. Consider it like a new module you didn't buy - it'll be easier to move over. You still have the option to buy nv card so it's not like you are cut away from the tech, and for sure, not from the game. All this reactions to some future feature we don't really know how it will fare and yet with a notion from ED that FSR implementation is also considered?3 points

Like others have said, Nvidia has At Least 75% market share in DCS. Outside of DCS, Nvidia is capturing 90% of GPU sales. Going off that alone, it makes perfect sense to start with DLSS. Not to mention that DLSS is much better than FSR. At least up until FSR 3.0, which just came out yestsrday. ED have said they will add FSR later, which is honestly better for AMD users since it will hopefully be 3.0. Who knows, maybe even XeSS will be added at some point. The next gen Intel cards are looking pretty good based on current rumors. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk3 points

Read that as you will but when pilots and aircrew with 2000+ hours in the real thing says we're good we're going to listen to them. And thank you for you praise for the module! And also, like I said, afaik an official cockpit with less wear will happen.3 points

Well I guess that we are treating this subject as if it was the begining of something rather than an evolution of something. This is not a "good start" (like you wrote), this is a good evolution of DCS, let us not forget that we have a fairly recent build regarding MT, which cater to your needs in regards of servicing the whole community. Some priorities have to taken into account and NVidia has a good amount of the pie in regards of GPU. Like Hiob stated FSR is not of the table, we just don't know whats next, the only thing we know is that this step was revealed some months ago. I mean, they told it was coming, it's not a surprise...3 points

do you plan on making other variants of the Tigr, like the one that has both a PKP and AGS 30 grenade launcher, the Remote Weapon Station variant. and of course the Kornet-D variant?3 points

I think most people here care about DLAA, and not really the upscaling of DLSS. DLAA should not bring issues with spotting or MFDs readability. It is basically free MSAA 4x, or even better than that. No other non-temporal upscaler (e.g. above mentioned FSR) can do that, so overall I think ED went the right way with choosing DLSS. We can already have FSR via reshade, but it always introduces aliasing and because of that there is very little use for it, especially in VR. Also, DLSS approach will likely lower VRAM consumption, which could be very beneficial for people with 8GB cards.3 points

Why such a negative comment? If some guys want to have a newer looking cockpit, when most campaigns for the F-14 are set during a time when the F-14B was relatively new, what's the harm? I'd argue it also helps separate B from A, helps make it feel like a different variant and increases immersion. This gentleman has done the hard work himself. I for one applaud the commitment. I bet even HB aren't mad at it.3 points

APPRECIATION After I slept a night over this announcement, It dawned on me that this is much bigger than it is given credit for (at least that’s how I feel about it). Maybe that is because it is just an announcement and not yet materialized. But that is just a matter of time. Think about the BIG items it contains, we asked forever about - like AI- and Warbird-Improvements and some more…. and than it casually reveals that they actually incorporated DLSS. Not in the far future, but around the corner. Given how far DLSS has evolved by now, this is huge for performance. It probably will have more impact on a lot of people than Vulcan could ever have. And I‘ll give them the benefit of doubt here, that they done it right! And even if all of this won’t be perfect from the get-go. It is (will be) real, tangible, impactful steps in the right direction and next to DCS-MT a huge chunk of improvement of core features that are not just eye candy. I can’t remember something like this since I started to fly DCS (which is only a couple of years admittedly). So, consider me hyped and happy, even if some things will be not perfectly polished from the beginning.3 points

It would be nice to have such a plane as an AI.... General Dynamics F-111 Main characteristics: Empty weight: 21 tons Length: 22.40 meters Height: 5.22 meters Crew: 2 people Speed: 2655 km/h The General Dynamics F-111 is an American two-seat long-range tactical bomber, a tactical support aircraft, the first production aircraft to feature a variable-sweep wing, turbojet engines with afterburners, and terrain-following radar. To suit the aircraft's performance characteristics, the Pratt-Whitney company specially developed the TF-30 engine - a turbofan engine with a higher bypass ratio. The main advantage of the F-111A was its ability with a maximum sweep angle of 72.5 degrees. reach a speed of 2655 km/h at altitude. To accommodate weapons, there are six underwing pylons, designed for a load weighing up to 2250 kg each. On the underwing pylons you can hang M117A1 bombs weighing 340 kg or GBU-58 cluster bombs on holders with forced release, or one Mk.82 bomb weighing 900 kg and Mk.83 weighing 1350 kg. It is possible to mount guided bombs of the Paveway family, equipped with an improved semi-active laser guidance head, or guided glide bombs Rockwell GBU-15 for use in battlefield isolation operations and the destruction of various targets. For self-defense, the aircraft can also carry the AIM-9 Sidewinder missile. The F-111A aircraft took part in combat operations in Vietnam just five months after the start of serial production. In Operation Combat Lancer, he acted completely autonomously, as provided for in the tactics developed for him. However, the results of this test of new technology were disastrous. In a short period of time, three out of six F-111 aircraft were shot down by air defense systems of the Air Force. The F-111 was widely used in January-February 1991 during Operation Desert Storm to strike Iraqi strategic and tactical targets.3 points

I'd actually be surprised if this was the case. I'm sure ED is working away on ATC, but they have mentioned many times that it's a huge task and I don't see 3.0 being *that* far away. My guess is at least a couple of years before they release any big updates on ATC. I doubt 3.0 would be that far out.3 points

Maybe it will be in the future but there is a lot of work to get it to ED standard, we are just 4 guys doing a 7 man aircraft. Before and after of tail sections, Havent had time recently to take screenshots so the other ones might be reposted elsewhere3 points

Hi, Just a tip: From around 15km/h (what I'd estimate) it stopped in 2.2 seconds (probably at grip limit). That means it had ~0.8Gs of deceleration. Can the braking force on the wheels of the Su-25s in DCS, please be increased to more realistic levels? The braking system should have enough authority to lock the wheels. Those are not bicycle brakes. At the same time, the nose gear steering is so extremely fragile that even small bumps can break it. The real airplane's landing gear was built to be tough!2 points

I remember the G1 issues. I had to have my headset replaced twice. Each time they did an advanced RMA and I had a headset before I had to send mine back in. Then I got the G2 and the first one had a dead pixel on the left side of the view. I called them and they didn't ask me for a video or picture because that would have been very difficult but we ran through basic troubleshooting on the headset and my PC and they sent out another one. Second G2 was perfect until the cable went bad. Replaced the cable form HP and that lasted until it went bad a second time but by that time they had manufactured a new cable with a power switch and I called in and asked to buy one but they sent it to me free of charge. No issues since then luckily. Basically I don't have the best of luck anytime I buy electronics.2 points

The cockpit in the linked image is of a British AH1, which were essentially Block 1 AH-64D's license-built in the U.K. by Agusta-Westland. License-built aircraft and their avionics can differ in many ways compared to domestically-produced aircraft variants; which may account for why the tower symbol is green and not yellow. It is of no consequence.2 points

Isn't DLAA just DLSS without upscaling? Ie: you won't gain any perfomance, you will actually lose a little bit, because the game won't render any faster (same resolution) and you are actually adding an extra AA pass. So it all depends what you are trying to achieve, but AFAICT, if you are seeking performance, DLAA isn't for you.2 points

Personally, I'm leaning towards it being an AI limitation rather than anything else. Not only do aircraft capable of refueling need to have separate tanker units (such as the S-3) and cannot support mixed loadouts/missions (for instance, here's a picture of an A-6E with a buddy store and a Maverick, here's one with a load of CBUs), only a single, exclusive refueling method can be used per unit (which is why the KC-135 w/ MPRS can only support probe and drogue, when it should be able to service both probe and drogue and flying boom). It might also be that the AI is unable to use stores that aren't weapons - buddy pods wouldn't be the first, as countermeasure pods have been something the AI doesn't properly support for well over half a decade (even for weapons, the AJS 37 has dedicated AI-only entries for the RB 04E and RB 15F). All of that is speculation though, so barge of salt and all that.2 points

Mine arrived yesterday also, had some issues with setup due to my having all 3 of my monitors plugged in, then realized I didn't push the power cords for the lighthouses in all the way (DUH). Once up and running, Workspace (Desktop) set up properly I was amazed at the clarity. Other than my bad (without looking) typing skills I could easily work in the headset full time. Hopped in a DCS Mustang, crystal clear and perfectly smooth using the MT exe, in IL-2 I noticed the glass on the gauges of my WWI plane for the 1st time, could see a reflection in it! Now just to get it optimized/tuned. Tracking with my two Lighthouses mounted at 10:00/14:00 high was perfect, and XRNeckSafer worked flawlessly also..2 points

I've been in many aircraft cockpits. I often visit the National Aviation Museum at Moorabbin, Victoria, and the RAAF Museum in Point Cook, also here in Victoria. I've been in several unrestored cockpits, to name a few - Fairey Firefly, F86 Sabre, F-111, Mirage, Canberra, F4 Phantom, and none of them had had their cockpits restored since they were flying, some of these nearly 60-70 years ago. None of them had cockpits in as bad condition as the Heatblur F14 cockpit. Their f14 cockpit looks unrealistic and more like an arcade game. Where the hell did they get the impression that it was cool to go far beyond the used, and slightly abused look, to a far-fetched trash can look? Did they take photos at the Arizona Graveyard and imagined that actual F14s in service would sometimes look like a public toilet at an Arizona truck stop? Don't get me wrong, I didn't want it to look unrealistically new and I had seen reviews for it before I bought it, so I was a little prepared for it, but after I paid the moula for the F14, I was really disappointed with the result. Now it's almost worth the bucks, thanks you DSPlayer for making it seem much more realistic, you have saved it. I hope Heatblur won't make the F4 look like another wreck...2 points

I think exactly like Monsieurmann we need to equip DCS planes like Razbam does for the F15E and the 2000 c and that would be great. Thanks in advance2 points

Very exciting! Something to add to the multi-player spawn points, it would be cool if player slots would show up in game before they're occupied. Like, let's say you jump in a server that might just have a few people in it, you see cold and dark aircraft on the ramp that could be player occupied, rather than a completely empty airfield, or aircraft carrier.
