If you like CIWS and C-RAMs like me, this one will indeed make you very happy. It's the Chinese juiced up version of the Centurion C-RAM - the LD-3000 C-RAM. It's got a 11-barrel radar guided gatling gun capable of spitting out 11000 rounds of 30 mm APDS per minute - that's around 170 lb of ammo per second! It's trailer based and will come in two versions, one stationary and one mobile.14 points

Hey guys a quick update on my current situation. (have previously been putting this under the DCS Forum) I will also be posting this in the VR forum as I spend so much time in there. My apologies to Mods if you have to remove it I understand but my wish would be for it to stay. I have many virtual friends that frequent that forum. Cancer has now spread, was in hospital last three days. They did MRI yesterday; it is now in many places including my spine. Cancer originated in my left lung with a tumor, and also had in 5 nodes in lung). While scan did not cover my head, I suspect based on my inability to think clearly and do things that should be second nature I am pretty sure it is also in brain now. When time comes if you see I have not posted in a week or longer in VR forum - that is where I spend bulk of my time - have a virtual toast for me, I know I will be in heaven with my family that preceded me - so yeah have a virtual toast remember good ole Don (dburne). Love you guys, and being a part of this forum since the original stand alone Black Shark has been a huge blessing for me. Thank you gang, it has been a true honor and brought me great enjoyment you all virtually. May God Bless you all!! I will hang in and continue my posting for as long as I can. Warmest Regards and Love, Don B. (dburne)7 points

Yes, you will be able to redeem your license on the DCS homepage, and then simply install the module from within DCS as usual. We are almost finished with the manual and will release it soon. Thank you for the kind words. Once you redeem the license, it will be kept in place on your ED store profile in the same way, just as an FYI. So no worries there, if you care to get one of the special editions. Please note that we can only offer them on our store, due to shipping, etc being done by us directly. The sizes are EU sizes.3 points

unfortunately no, purchases on Heatblur Store or ED Eshop are not Steam compatible. Pre orders on Steam will follow soon though. We will soon reveal more, from startup to operating systems, etc...3 points

Hi, Still on GitHub, even if this 2AF mechanism piss me off. Here is a new release here which I hope, will resolve most of problems occurring with large files. Some parts of the code was corrected and consolidated to ensure full compatibility with file larger than 4GB, which was a bit hasardous in some cases before, and completely bugged for the 32bit version. Another good news is that XXHash checksum (and maybe Md5 too, but I don't have tested) now compute at decent speed (the read buffer size was way too small, causing bottlenec). And finally some will be happy to hear that aborted downloads can now be resumed from where it stopped. There are also some other bug fixed. Fix inconsistent and buggy file size handling for 32 bit version Fix very slow XXHash digest computing, now way faster Fix application crash when remove package Removed Modding Hub "Uinstall All" feature Adding Per-Package "Discard backup data" feature Adding partial or aborted download resume mechanism https://github.com/sedenion/OpenModMan/releases/tag/1.1.13 points

That's pretty much standard procedure that unfortunately nobody ever explains to you. You aren't really routed to the airfield, but to the known 'reporting point' where you begin your standardized approach to an airfield's active runway. That's usually a couple of miles straight from the airfield's runway, in opposite of the landing heading, so you end up a couple of miles in front of the runway, ready for a straight in or precision approach (which, since for that you'd be on a VOR/TACAN would never require you to get an Azimuth, but I digress). That would be quite convenient if DCS implemented better ATC, right now it feels somewhat annoying. So just ignore, fly to the reporting point and hope that you'd recognize the surroundings so you can turn to final by yourself. Oh, and let's keep our fingers crossed that some day we get some game ATC that's better.3 points

It wasnt either confirmed or denied. ED stated they want to make one but its unclear if they have started development or if they are even able to developed it due to Russian laws. Read those articles and take a look at the screenshots below https://stormbirds.blog/2020/12/18/eagle-dynamics-confirms-mig-29-9-12-development/ https://stormbirds.blog/2021/01/09/the-twin-fates-of-dcs-ka-50-blackshark-3-and-mig-29/3 points

Don't want to start another thread, but I got the F1 recently and feel very much the same way. I don't know what it is but it brought back the fun to flying for me. Obviously it looks and sounds fantastic from inside and outside, but somehow it also feels just right. The fact that comes with so many versions and also serves as preparation for the 2000 is an additional bonus. Well done Aerges!3 points

And we've got an image of the new Shrike model! Cobra also confirmed that the AIM-7E already has a new model completed as well.3 points

The glare shields are fiberglass. They delaminate like that due to the sun exposure, and physical abuse they get. The Heatblur F-4E cockpit looks very much like what I remember from my time working on them in the 70's and 80's.3 points

Hi, first of all the new pilot model looks really great. So far I've already found some bugs: 1. When looking back, you "zoom out" of the head and the helmet obscures the view. This is actually severe, because as of now, you cannot look back in the Hornet it seems like (2D, don't have VR). 2. The (oxygen?) hose disappears when looking more forward 3. The cord runs through the belt2 points

MSAA Kills Frame Times at 1080P, or 2,072,600 px You're running 3840x1600, or 6,144,000 px which is 300% of 1080p. MSAA 4X at that resolution will kills frame times, Your resolution is high enough, there should be enough pixels for MSAA to Sample at 2X and get clean edges, DLAA As well. I hate to sound like a broken record, but it goes back to Knowing the Limits of the Engine, DirectX 11 Predates all of the RTX Series, all of the RX Series, Predates VR as well. Just because the hardware is getting more and more powerful does not mean the end user can crank the settings of every piece of software they run. DirectX 11 wasn't designed to do any of this, so limiting the "maxxed out settings" is something users need to practice to maintain acceptable frame times, DirectX's API Overhead and it's age limiting what it can do, can not be solved by throwing more powerful hardware at something.2 points

Which FM exactly are you referring to? The old „wing commander“ one or the first iteration of the new FM (which I liked the most btw.)? Either way - the above statement is a far stretch. Where do you conclude that from? A handful complaints in the forum?2 points

If only there was some kind of way to represent airplanes within visual range, perhaps through some kind of smart system which would keep them visible at expected WVR ranges, but not at further distances. This would allow you to not only match the data with regards to spotting distances, but even identify a plane and estimate its aspect at reported and studied ranges in a popularly cited paper which emphasized the ranges at which aircraft could be identified, and not just spotted. Aircraft at ranges that I have seen for myself at air shows when planes are flying around and completing circuits up to 5 miles wide, staying inside their 5 mile NOTAM radius. It'd be even crazier if DCS had implemented some kind of system like this before, and then just quietly removed it despite it never being given any time in the oven to work out it's kinks. That definitely didn't happen though, it's just a hypothetical what if. For real though I think ED being transparent with what their goals even are would go a long way in steering the conversation in a useful direction.2 points

It's disgusting and unreal. I can not deactivate it adding the line in autoexec.cfg. Very nice to be able to increase visual settings with DLSS but not good to see a big dot at 30 NM from your position. This kind of demands has to be discussed with real pilots before being implemented, it's my point of view. In real aircraft operations when flying, it depends on weather, visual environment and more things, the distance from where you can have tally or visual can be different, but normally is below 5-10NM. My recommendation is to have the opportunity to deactivate as an option in DCS settings. Enviado desde mi 21051182G mediante Tapatalk2 points

Yes, and the alternative was dumb bombs or the manually guided Bullpup, which required you to come even closer. Compared to them? I'd say the Mav was really good for the era it appeared in. You could get to one mile, lock on and pull away. No staring at the tail flare, no fiddling with the zot box, no missing with the whole damn stick because the target had moved a little to the side. Of course, we have better PGMs now. Back in A-7's heyday, when they first appeared, the A model Mav was revolutionary. Even if they did like to go for a tactical bush once in a while.2 points
