Even if the volumetric clouds look more interesting in a way, they're still very blurry and, imho, it affects the perception of scale and distance.

It must be awfully difficult to develop a convincing clouds rendering technique.

The Ace Combat 7 teaser showed some interesting clouds but I'm not sure it's the engine rendering alone (and not CGI).

 

In Ace Combat 7, the graphic engine is Unreal Engine 4. The sky is rendered through 'SimulTrueSky' plugin. So this technology is certainly not compatible with EDGE T4.
