I would LOVE for the undercarriage NOT to start behaving like it's having some sort of FIT when the plane is on the ground... THAT'S my wish!

Qazplm replied to Orca57's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
Hi, guys. I'm not familiar with the script and have a problem. I input return _G.c_argument_in_range(142,0,0.1,"") in the LUA console. It can return true or false, but how should I use it in the script? if net.dostring_in('mission', 'return _G.c_argument_in_range(142,0,0.1,"") ') then trigger.action.outText("very good! Please proceed to the next step" ,10 ) end But it doesn't work -
I think it is meant to represent true AoA. One USAF paper on wing rock puts wing-rock-onset of an RF-4C without slats at just under 20deg true AoA, which seems to corroborate. However I don't recall any report in the public domain giving true AoA to indicated 'units' directly. There is one that correlates 'units' to degrees on a test flight noseboom, but not corrected for upwash so still not true free-stream AoA.

Visibility bump as this remains an issue. I think a few Contention regulars settled on 30km object draw distance to avoid dots disappearing. I also found an old video I took of the dots disappearing as I turned my head in their direction (and thus more distant ground objects came into the FOV), I recorded it in July 2023 so the problem is at least that old and possibly a fair bit older. Though I did find a forum thread claiming the dots disappearing was a new problem introduced not too long before May '23: That timeframe would roughly coincide with the introduction of the MT build (March '23). Some users I talked to did claim that the ST build had much better dot visibility and they stayed on it as long as possible, so it may be this problem was in fact introduced with the MT build of the game.

RX 9060 XT 16Gb: Good enough for 30-40fps in vr? Budget vr.
wormeaten replied to AngleOff66's topic in Virtual Reality
Every modern GPU could run VR only depend on what resolution. Consider this for example Q3 in VD on Godlike is looking in VR like 1080p 27" monitor. I'm talking now about pixel density and impression you got. With 9060XT you will probably running it on High preset in VR. That is lower resolution of rendering so pixels will be more noticeable like for example you are reducing resolution on 1080p monitor to increase in game performances. Also VR is compromise so level of details and resolution combine with Hz. Run at 72Hz with motion reprojection on you will need 36FPS. In VR we are not looking at average but minimum FPS. FPS shouldn't drop below 36 to keep it smooth. 9060XT in VR is doable, it is like 3080, 6800XT, 4070 or 7700XT. But don't expect too much, have in mind low budget equal low expectation. -
Not sure if you have normal maps and roughMet textures already included? From what I've seen they make a big difference in DCS object appearance.

It's a shame. And if the F6F comes out before or at the same time and if it has has a pilot body. I might prioritise the F6F. They've had a year+ of flight model refinement. And in that time they've done different types of tyres. They could have started work on a pilot body. They basically restarted the whole project 4 or 5 years ago because they felt the current model wasn't good enough for the fidelity of newer modules. But they don't think a pilot body adds to the overall look and fidelity?

F-22A Raptor mod enhancement mod
CTTillman replied to Nightstorm's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Hello everyone. This is my first post, but I've been modding aircraft and hacking video games since the early nineties. I noticed the same thing in the damage system, where the cockpit disappears, and also the smallest number of rounds impacting shreds the aircraft. I code for a living and I checked out @bhoop19 GitHub repository two weeks before this was released, and I've been playing with some of the C++. I'm trying changes with the damage events that have gotten different behavior when a tail is cut off, or an aileron or elevon is removed, but causing other issues I'm trying to address. I've separated the tails and rudders that currently are mapped in code to a single vertical tail, and applied independent damage and integrity. I've updated wing integrity to apply on percentages for the different sections instead of one part destroying the whole wing in code, and all it's aerodynamic forces. I think I can get the FCS page working again with good indicators on control surface position. And just for fun, I implemented a thrust vectoring roll assist that can independently point thrust for each engine to do some slightly faster rolls, but some real weird stall maneuvers lol (the real F-22 doesn't do this). I hope to contact @Nightstorm and @bhoop19 in a few weeks if I can get some things working well enough to contribute, if they'll allow it. -

Consider this as loan payment. You pay one part in cash and rest of the value you are paying in next 24 month's true "subscription". This "Subscription" is actually like insurance. If you stop paying your Pimax is blocked until you pay what are you scheduled to pay. Soon as you pay it is unlocked again. After 24 months or finished with payment in total your Pimax is permanently unlocked. Of course you are still have option to pay full amount at once if you wish that way. This is just way to make Pimax more affordable to the masses. Good option in my opinion. Thank you Pimax for that.

It will look better with better ingame settings. I am running an 8 th gen Intel core i5 and an rx580 8gb and in Blender the contrasts are better as you can see.
