  1. Radiocheck... Hi fighters! For a long time we did not get in touch, but all this time the work did not stop. Improving, optimizing, adding, introducing something new - everything we worked on was connected with these words. Today we will show new night lighting and some hangars. The update includes many minor improvements - we made sure that the map is relevant and fresh. So what's most interesting: New lighting technology added. Added right-hand traffic in Cyprus. Map description updated. Added kneeboard (yeah, this fix has long been waiting in the wings) Mission generator updated. Added helicopter landing sites on GUI map. Optimized trees in forest. Simplified trees collisions. Optimized and improved building models. Added objects at road and railroad crossings. Two types of gas stations have been added. Two types of road-side cafes added.   3. Hey Guys. As you know I'm attempting to create an AI Warship for most countries. I still have the Netherlands, Japan, Korea, the US, Australia, New Zealand, France, Italy, Danish, Greece, Indonesia, Singapore, Chinese, Russia, Turkey, and Germany. I have Warships and Corvette Class ships for all these countries. I also have a lot of small patrol boats that I have to create along with plenty more commercial vessels. I'm not just limited to creating ships. I understand how to create Tanks, vehicles, aircraft, and helicopters as well but I just haven't released them. I still have some older warships I need to create as well. All of you have different interests in what you would like to play with in DCS. So I would like to take a vote on what type of ship you all would like for me to create and from what country. I will create that ship based on the number of votes I get for that type of vessel. Send your requests and I will take it from there. No more than TWO SHIP REQUESTS PER PERSON. You all have ONE WEEK to make your reqyest. Thanks. Admiral189

  5. @Harley Davidson do you have any hard evidence to support your claims? The FM has been validated against performance data and tested by multiple F1 pilots with thousands of hours on the real aircraft. That being said, the aircraft can outturn any of its contemporary counterparts in-game when flown to its strengths. It can carry a lot of fuel for its size but going into a dogfight with the tanks full is probably not the best idea. Its strengths are good energy retention and good acceleration at high speeds, so it likes to stay fast. Nevertheless, if you find yourself going slow, it's imperative to use combat flaps, otherwise the performance loss is very significant. Pitch sensitivity can also be an issue. The aircraft works better at lower AoA and when the pilot is gentle on the stick. Make sure you have the 'Emulation of effects of stick forces on aircraft behaviour' option selected in the special menu and tweak the sliders below it in case you use FFB. Otherwise also play with curves if needed. Also, all this applies to flying against a human in MP, the performance of the SFM of AI aircraft is always far better than the PFM of the one you are flying. Hopefully this will be fixed by the implementation by ED of what they call the GFM (check the most recent newsletter). Again, the module is in EA and the FM has been tweaked multiple times after the release but we're happy with how realistic it is now and we'd need more specific evidence than just saying 'it flies like a wet fart when you pull the stick', like a specific performance issue at a certain regime...

  11. @Thinder again, please stop with the aggressiveness and implying I'm lying unless you have specific evidence to prove that. As @Tango3B has reafirmed, the performance of the module closely matches the performance data of the aircraft. Regarding stick feeling, it's highly dependant on setup, the F1 has a complex force retribution system that could only be reproduced with an amazing FFB setup that I don't think exists commercially. As a consequence, we have developed a sort of emulation that limits the stick displacement in situations in which the real aircraft would increase the resistance on the stick, which can be toggled in the Special Options menu. Again, you say at high AoA the aircraft had to be flown by rudder, which is how the module has to be flown at high AoA. Have these AdA pilots actually flown the module? Are they happy for you to send their contact info so they can provide feedback directly, or test the module if they have a DCS setup? And in general, just saying the aircraft flies badly (or some other less polite adjective) or underperforms is too general (as @Dustband says), in what altitudes/speeds, what weight, what AoAs, in pitch, in roll, in yaw? Otherwise, with the vast amount of variables involved, there's nothing we can do, it's just destructive criticism. And if you expect something that can match a 4th gen fighter or that allows you to easily defeat any 3rd gen in any situation, it's just not going to happen, the performance is already what the data says it should be within a very low error margin. In general, the tips given by @Tango3B are really useful and on point. @Snappy, I mean in some regimes and fuel set ups the F1 generates a higher turn rate than other contemporary modules. Obviously, I don't have the numbers or data for other modules but this is based on the performance analysis I've seen for other DCS aircraft (which I know are not necessarily 100% accurate) and performance data that can be found on the internet (which again, might not correspond exactly to the same aircraft version, be 100% accurate...).

  12. Hold your horses here, Thinder. The FM is actually quite close to the performance charts publicly available. This is a fact and this has also been tested. Also, AERGES did a really good job adjusting the FM over the last few months. Furthermore, I strongly agree with Fausete that in the F1 you really have to understand the basics of dogfighting and you have to have a constant eye on your energy state. The F1 is easy to fly but a lot harder to fight in. Avoid getting slow, stay above 400kts. Best is around 425-450kts. Try barrel rolls, flat scissors and Yo-Yos. Have an eye on your fuel. If you‘re above 50% of fuel she's a bit like a pig. At or below 50% of fuel she really starts to shine. Also play with the curve setup for your stick. This is very important so you don‘t constantly overshoot AOA. You really need to learn flying her. Treat her nice and she‘ll do some amazing things for you. Indeed, you can beat any contemporary jet. Just use the right maneuvers and fly smooth. Don‘t yank on the stick like a madman. Again, learn the fundamentals of dogfighting and you‘ll get better eventually…just keep trying and you‘ll succeed.

  13. Could you be more specific, like what angle of AoA they said, what the weight of the aircraft was and what flight regimes? And with a cited primary sources to back it up? If that is not possible for privacy reasons, let the pilots try the DCS module and contact Aerges themselves with what parts are wrong. Vague statements like "The flight model is wrong, ask 'people' " is wasting everybody's time.

  15. Hello, Just wanted to report that yesterday the Sk-60 Mod was updated to version 1.1.   18. TM hat leider m.M.n. viele Jahre gepennt und sich auf den Warthog ausgeruht. Jetzt merken sie langsam das VPC/Virpil//WW ihnen Marktanteile und Einnahmen abgraben und reagieren jetzt. Ich würde auch behaupten, dass Sie geringere Produktionskosten haben als ein Virpil oder WinWing. Aber leider schrauben sie den Preis künstlich hoch, statt sich jetzt durch höhere Produktionszahlen und Vertriebsmöglichkeiten durch einen niedrigeren Preis gegenüber der Konkurrenz abzusetzen.

  19. Someone asked me how many voice overs are in this mission... I'm going to say there are 391 lines of dialogue in 174 separate audio files. That doesn't include the recorded real world audio, which would add a lot more to the total. A lot of recordings, a lot of editing and a lot time was put into this mission, that's for sure. So, yeah! Let's hear it for my voice actor volunteers! Without them this wouldn't have been possible.   20. Just a thought....hear me out. If the stock model uses a obsolete JSON file, wouldn't it be better to hold off on a livery competition that will yield more Liveries that will all break if you ever incorporate Roughmets officially? I use the term "break" lightly since the materials look really wierd as it is. Why not just just incorporate Roughmets? Then run the competition? At minimum deleting that JSON file would technically break existing skins. But because the file is already faulty it wouldnt really break things....then at least you could use SPECS and create something decent without needing to use work around. Just a thought.

  21. Good Morning All. Thanks for the kind words. It shows your human. I hope you all are doing well. Unfortunately, I'm still down but recovering slowly. Trying to regain my strength. Whatever I caught doesn't want to let go. Right now I'm out of sync with modeling ships. It's been really difficult to concentrate with this cold lingering over me. However, I have managed to work on a couple of mods. HMS Albion, HMS Bulwark, and the new UK TYPE 31 Frigate HMS Arrowhead. I think we can soon close out all the UK Ships. These mods have been sitting for close to a year along with many many more models. The USS Lewis Puller is complete. I just need to add the additional 3 liveries. I didn't know there were 5 vessels in her class. One key thing about modeling ships, aircraft, and military vehicles. If you're not focused on modeling. You will soon get distracted and move on to something else. That's exactly what happened in this case. Either way. I'm trying to get back into it!! You all take care. Stay Healthy!!

Hi everyone, I would like to introduce my new mission "Operation Horizon", a storydriven rescue mission on the Sinai map: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3331765/ The mission: In 2016, a school class of Israeli children is on a fieldtrip to Jerusalem. On their way home their bus is stopped by a group of armed fighters and abducted to the West Bank. Authorities are quickly informed and a ground based rescue team as well as an Apache helicopter (“Splitter”) are scrambled for a rescue operation. At 15:30 local time, the Apache – call sign SPLITTER one-one – is launched at Palmachim Air Base. Its primary task is to find the school bus in the vicinity of the pinpointed location and wait for further instructions. You will fly along the pre-planned flight route and follow the instructions of COMMAND. Before reaching the West Bank, you will receive MGRS coordinates of the location, where the girl’s mobile was pinpointed. Use your F10 radio item to inform ground forces when you found the bus, else they will not proceed to the location. You will find the bus surrounded by enemy fighters and be cleared to engage. Be very cautious not to hit the bus! After the bus scene you might receive another assignment. Listen to COMMAND and follow the on screen instructions.   23. Allows for the EXTREMELY limited usage of weapons that will be officially added in the future and weapons that will be not added in the future to the F-15E Strike Eagle. Excellent mod in my opinion to make screenshots in DCS. To be honest, I was pretty bored and I wanted to mess around and make screenshots with weapons not yet available to the Strike Eagle.   24. Thanks, Guys for the input. Lord Gore, I've uploaded an update to the Bowen and also I released an updated version of the Oak Hill recently. I'm working on the Atago Class and the JS Akizuki DD-115 Class as well but I have most of the modern Japanese ships. For Korea, I have the King Sejong Class, Daegu Class, and Incheon Class. Here's the fix for the missile glitch and that's a big glitch lol. Open the USS Bowen FF-1079.Lua. Change line item 190 which is below from True to false and that will correct that issue. GT.WS[ws].LN[1].show_external_missile = false As a note to you all. If you see any issues with the models I create send me a PM and I will assist you in correcting it. Thanks. I am keeping tabs on the ships requested and so far I haven't seen two requests of the same ship yet so keep them coming. Thanks.

Another interesting point that was brought up on Steve Davies’s podcast with the F-15E pilot (Stinger) is that the classic “rate / radius” conversations have basically been superseded in the era of helmet-cued weapons, and that the conversation is now getting the aircraft into weapons parameters as quickly as possible and keeping it there. It’s a very different era of WVR/dogfighting.

  28. Ich bin ja eigentlich nach wie vor Fan von Thrustmaster und ich finde manchmal die Vergleiche zu Virpil und Co. nicht so ganz fair. Thrustmaster hat bisher eigentlich immer sein eigenes Preissegment bedient. Klar, ich finde Virpil auch besser, aber es kostet auch fast das Doppelte - im Vergleich zum Warthog. WinWing - habe ich keine Erfahrung mit, aber zumindest bei uns in Deutschland muss man da noch Steuern, Zoll und Versand drauf packen und damit sind die dann auch deutlich teurer als TM, die ich hier halt easy versandkostenfrei auf Amazon kaufen kann. Das Ding ist: Der F-16 Throttle stößt mit dem Preis nun aber ins gleiche Segment vor wie die bisher teurere Konkurrenz. Und zumindest auf den Videos sah es für mich schon so aus als wären die grauen Drehregler ziemlich billig verarbeitet und dieser Fahrwerkshebel ein schlechter Witz. Auf den ersten Blick sieht´s für mich nicht so aus als wäre das Teil seine 500 Euro wert. Interessant wäre auf jeden Fall, wie die Mechanik des Schubhebels nach ein paar Jahren Benutzung standhält, sind ja doch ein paar bewegliche Teile dran.

  32. Yes, but as @SkateZillasays, you wouldn´t need to edit the file every time you go into the options menu. Yes, I guessed so, but it´s better than editing the file whenever you go into the options menu for other reasons. It´s just a temporal solution before they activate it officially (hopefully soon) like your upscaling (DLSS) greyed-out menu .

  37. You just had bad opponents. Not either. The F-15E's air to air capabilities can deal with low threat opposition, but I imagine all that is happening when air superiority has already been gained. Basically if you're thinking of the F-15E as some form of swing role figher, stop thinking of it that way. The DCS world, especially typical MP which is highly disorganized and there's really no air superiority is a bit different and doesn't represent IRL warfare.

  42. I'm pretty sure you can't edit markpoint coordinates, because that's one of the reasons to make one--when you make a markpoint, you can get the coordinates of that point on the gorund. If you already have the coordinates, you'd just take an existing sequence point (or create a new one) instead, and then you can just edit its coordinates.

  45. Only a few updates: the main part of the fuselage UV has been laid out but still needs a load of work, The flight model is feeling 10x better than 2 months ago and is alot closer to real life but you can't really screenshot the way an aircraft flies. Hoping to bring some more updates soon

  46. This has been a long running problem for years now (started since 2.5 got out, and got worse with every new iteration), has been discussed, even documented. For example, here and here. Never fixed, it's a real problem caused by bad management in regards to textures in use, with unnecessarily heavy formats and/or resolution. Here's a possible solution, which ED and 3rd parties need to consider adopting in all of DCS content, ASAP: Fellow member @Taz1004 has put to practice what he and others (myself included) have been saying for years. His "DCS Optimized Textures" mod already brings considerable benefits (lower VRAM consumption, better performance)... with zero impact in image quality! Right now, this mod is definitely a "must have", and how it should have been from the start. But, unfortunately, it does not pass "Pure Texture" IC check in MP.
