  1. Just to make an addendum to @Zabuzard. Not that our target is the F-14; however the F-4E is definitely far more detailed (30% more code alone!) and runs a higher fidelity and deeper simulation than we've ever done before. I'd also note that the models and art in general are more complex. More things shaking, moving, wobbling means a lot more vertex transformations for your CPU to do. We're working really hard to ensure that performance is reasonable on launch. Currently performance is under the F-14 benchmark, but we've not done final profiling and optimization just yet, so we hope to find more headroom.

  2. Happy New Year everyone. Sorry, I have been absent, MIA, and gone for so long. I would like to thank all of you for your concerns and it means a lot to me. It's been rough but I'm still here trying to get back into what I love doing. Creating AI 3D Ship models for DCS. It's a slow process but I'm getting there. My plan for 2024 is to start creating small 3D DCS AI boats and ship models and work my way up from there. I will create the mods in no specific order. I will eventually get back to the AI Mods I was working on in 2023. Below is the first model of 2024. Finlands Hamina Class Missile Boat FNS Tornio. It's a WIP. For the record, I haven't seen any issues with any of my AI Ship models and I have the recent DCS version installed.

  6. As i suspected, I forgot to put some files in the fix. Unfortunatly I can't put them in the fix, because the upload limit is 50MB in this thread. What I can do is put the files separatly here and tell you what to do. Put these files into Military Aircraft Mod\Textures\Military Aircraft Mod.zip Put them into the .zip folder and replace the old files. MAM_A400M.dds MAM_A400M_B.dds

  7. Hi We would like to thank the community for its attention to the project. Today we will show you a small update of Normandy. We've added two new airfields that you may be familiar with: Dunkirk & High Halden - so there are now 79 military airfields on the Normandy map. And we have made small changes to three existing airfields: Detling, Lympne, Manston - for you it will be as if you have returned from vacation, you see everything the same, but at the same time everything has become noticeably better. The specifics of historical maps require constant attention to references, and in this regard you help us a lot: @DD_Fenrir the runway was left, the global restructuring of Manston will be in the next iteration. Everyone will be able to see these results. Keep checking back for updates soon Dunkirk High Halden Detling Lympne Manston

  8. I think I've arrived at a good solution for the cirrus layer. I created new cirrus textures that are similar to the originals but higher resolution. I decided not to use the more dramatic cirrus textures as they don't blend as well with the volumetric clouds. I also increased the transition time to 15 minutes. This makes the change a little less jarring then the default 3 minutes. Here's the default cirrus up close: Here's one of my updated cirrus textures

  12. Hello Naval Aviators, I've been working on updating some of the scripts in the Goshawk, fixing various stuff: 1. Magnetic variation from the map implemented, TACAN, VOR and Waypoints magnetic bearings now correct. 2. Switches for the radios now work in the correct direction. 3. 264 MHz and 305 MHz are automatically set on the radios (Bankler's Case I training mission, to talk with buddies via SRS). 4. COMM1 and COMM2 are automatically audible and on when you have a hot air or ground start. 5. Parking brakes are set on ground by default. 6. ADI is on MFDL and HSI is on MFDR by default on a hot start. 7. Antiskid is on by default for a hot start. 8. ILS is on and tuned to 110.30 Batumi ILS. 9. TACAN is on and tuned to 72X. 10. Data Page on either MFD is cleaned up and shows magnetic variation and QFF from the map. 11. Hides the NATOPS Kneeboard CHL. 12. CDI for TACAN and VOR now show correctly when using the reciprocal course. 13. Altimeter starts at the correct setting, within the limits of the Kollsman window. 14. Wind displayed on the HSI is now in the correct direction (was 180° off) 15. Added a temperature error to the altitude based on QFF and sea level temperature All these changes are in the Scripts folder which I have attached below. Please read the readme.txt file to know where to install (replace the original). Feedback and info about any new bugs introduced by my tinkering very welcome. Fresh 2024-FEB-18 Scripts Update.zip

  13. Hi fighters! Thank you for your interest in our project. As promised before, we continue to support and develop it! If you are familiar with the symbols: "F-16", then you will be pleased with today's news. Previously, this place was inaccessible to you, but we have prepared a surprise for you. Get ready for your military trip to Muwaffaq Salti Airbase. The aviation history of this place dates back to the First World War. It was home to the Royal Jordanian Air Force, Belgian Air Component and United States Air Force. Helicopters, transport aircrafts, fighter aircraft, drones - everyone was here. By the way, we made new unique hangars for this airbase, now your birds will be safe. Even though the canteen (DFAC) is no longer as tasty as experienced fighters say, the rule of three drinks has been preserved and you will be covered by MFR (the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation program). The Internet is available, but may fail, so be sure to take a hard drive with your favorite movies with you. When you arrive at the location, tell us whether you liked it or not, we tried to provide all the conditions for you. Here's a little review for you

  16. Could that be a switchable option? If there may be performance degradation then could there be a selection that inhibits the movement, thereby not having a performance hit? Dont know if it indeed would cause a drop in performance, but if so . . . Every little helps.

  17. Couldn’t agree more. The a10 was the first module I really got into in dcs. Over the years I’ve learn others and really enjoyed them all. The a10 somehow always has something else for me. After probably a year away focusing more on f15, 16, 18, I got a bit bored of the fast jet stuff. Too clinical and efficient. My real enjoyment is cas and a2g so I have come back to the a10c again and I love it. The systems, the pure role, the weapons and loiter as well just the way it flies. It’s my firm favorite dcs module by quite a long way, and I’m not implying there is anything wrong with any of the other modules. They are all fantastic and have given me so much, but the a10c is just something really special.

  18. you right, for actual time we can't figure-out how to deal with turbulence without autopilot, there is an fligh Mode to activated when air refueling to have more stability, until we can get over the turbulence problem, it's even same when very close formation or behind any big engine. Try the air refeuling Mode, by defaut it's auto you have just to extend fuel prob. it's internal code issue, fix in progress

  22. Our performance benchmark is the Tomcat. The simulation depth isnt necessarily what drives your performance up, its mostly other things like detailed models and rendering. Or simply mistakes in the code like too many radar or laser raycasts that cause issues. Even your fridge can run a billion math computations per second already.

  23. While coding finishing in the background, we are testing additional features to make the overall look more reralistic. This also includes natural behaviours of the character/Pilot/Co-Pilot (facial animations) We are working hard to implement these features to the DCS-BO-105. The first look looks promissing in our opinion. What do you think ? Keep in mind that the endresult is up to the engine. Meaning that the current Animation Test is WIP. 27.

  28. Hey, I just fixed the A400M issues, took me like 10 min. The alpha channel of almost all .dds files was set to 0 (0% opacity), just changed it to 1 and added MipMaps while exporting. Just copy the contents of this folder to the original Mod folder. Best regards ^^ Edit: Please also install these files: Edit 2: I uploaded the whole fix to Google drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qG5hM3u0YvLBgKcvVBIasV9n5tt15WKr/view?usp=sharing Military Aircraft Mod A400M fixed.zip

  29. It is a mistake from whoever edited that mission, it employs a US soldier from the WW2 Assets Pack, like this: I replaced it with the standard US M4 soldier, so that the mission can be flown on vanilla DCS: You can download my corrected mission from this link: MiG29S - 8 - KMGU-2 CBU Dispenser.miz Place it over the original mission, on my DCS the path is: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Missions\Training yours may be a bit different.

  30. What kind of horror? You mean like mission creator (USAF) forgot to provide CAP for the strikers? Or put the F-15E in the air superiority role? Or was it just the usual mosh pit for MP scoring?

  31. For the models themselves, they're already in-game. They can be found in your main DCS installation folder, under Bazar\World\Shapes. The model names are RLS_p-37.edm and PRW-11.edm for the P-37 and PRV-11 respctively. I have had a go at making a .lua for the unit and sensor, these can be found here. But these alone won't cause it show up in-game. Bear in mind though that I'm not a modder, I don't really know what I'm doing and the 2.7 .lua lockdown has made things much harder. If anyone who actually knows what they're doing wants to improve them or point me in the right direction so these will show up in-game as a functional unit, it would be greatly appreciated. I mean, the only thing IMO that would need to be done is to remove the grass mound - it works well enough on grassy maps (such as the Caucasus and upcoming Kola), but isn't appropriate for Syria and the Sinai. The 1L13 and 55G6 though definitely are in need of replacement, those 2 don't look like they've been touched since LOMAC or possibly even Flanker 2.0. The trailer mounted 5N59S Tin Shield I'd say looks perfectly adequate, all it's missing are animations to support it being towed around (such as with the 5N64S Big Bird). The mast-mounted version though (and the aforementioned Big Bird) are missing higher-quality models, though those will likely come in a new paid-for pack. The AN/FPS-117 also looks perfectly adequate (as it would being one of the newest additions to DCS), I just wish the radome version wasn't an entirely separate unit and that it could just be an option in the additional unit properties. But absolutely agreed with these 2 being obvious additions - the part that entails the most work has already been done, which has been the case for over a decade. They only need .lua definitions for the unit and sensor (something that should take single-digit minutes to write) and an addition to the db-countries.lua for the respective countries (which for the the .lua files in the post above would be the addition of cnt_unit( units.Cars.Car, "P-37"); and cnt_unit( units.Cars.Car, "PRV-11"); in the Grveh list of each applicable country (USSR, Russia, GDR, Egypt, Syria, Ukraine, Iraq, Vietnam etc). I have given that a try, but it doesn't seem to work.

  32. Got a cheap wireless headset and wanted to run my track IR off of it but wanted it to still be removable so I created this. Uses a boost converter to step up the 4v to 5.4~(wasn't bright enough otherwise) needed two resistors as it created a significant whine when on. On this headset it doesnt supply power unless the headset is on so no worry of draining the battery if you forget to unplug it. Hope this helps someone be cable free! 33. Hi everyone, The Mi8 is great, but I'd like to see some crew interactions. Simple callouts for altitude, dangers (missiles, contacts,...), speed and systems malfunctions would greatly increase immersion. It would also be great if the voices could be customized by the player. Just a suggestion for an already magnificent helicopter. Cheers.
