  1. Nice to have a delivery date for this helo, but I will wait a while yet before purchasing, until the Razbam issue has been resolved, as it has hit me pretty hard since I own all of Raz modules, particularly dear to me was the South Atlantic Map.

Pre-purchase now! Delivering 26th June 2024. As an evolution of the “D” model, the CH-47F incorporates significant upgrades that include a glass cockpit, upgraded engines, easier maintenance, new cargo capabilities, and an extended service life. Serving in the U.S. Army and other armed forces, the CH-47F is engineered to meet modern-day transport requirements, excelling in high-intensity combat situations, humanitarian aid missions, and disaster response operations. In the last 60 years, the CH-47 was deployed in all major conflicts including Vietnam, Libya, The Balkans, Iraq, the Falklands, and Afghanistan, and it remains a critical asset for all US and allied military and humanitarian operations worldwide. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics CH-47F Pre-purchase The Boeing CH-47F Chinook fondly referred to as ‘The Hook’ by US military personnel, stands today as the premier multi-mission rotary wing aircraft in use with the US Army, US Army Reserve, National Guard and 20 other nations including Canada, the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Japan, Italy, Greece, Spain, South Korea, Australia, Türkiye, India and the United Arab Emirates. Embodying a unique tandem rotor design this massive helicopter excels in all its roles, including cargo and troop transportation, sling load operations, search and rescue, casualty evacuation, special operations, and humanitarian assistance in disaster scenarios. Engineered for exceptional stability and control, the CH-47F twin engine, tandem rotor configuration ensures maximum agility and facilitates straightforward loading and unloading procedures. This design uniquely positions the CH-47F for operation in environments inaccessible to others. The absence of tail rotor interference permits rear ramp access on varied terrains, including unprepared or mountainous locations, capitalising on its remarkable landing capability. Furthermore, the aircraft's design facilitates high-altitude flight up to 20,000 feet, surpassing other helicopters in its weight category. The CH-47F is equipped with a state-of-the-art, fully integrated digital cockpit management system; the Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) Cockpit, in synergy with a Digital Automatic Flight Control System (DAFCS). These advanced systems enhance cargo-handling efficiency while significantly boosting mission performance and all weather situational awareness. CH-47F also offers side and rear door gunner positions, a radar warning receiver with chaff and flare dispensers for auto protection. With the capability to cover extensive distances swiftly, the CH-47F can be outfitted with extended range fuel tanks and is compatible with air-to-air refuelling, thus extending its operational range further than ever before. This capability underscores the aircraft’s adaptability and endurance, making it a formidable asset in any fleet. In total some 1'200 plus CH-47 helicopters of all variants were delivered. This icon of a war machine saw combat service in all the major theatres since its inception, notably Vietnam, Iran, Libya, The Falklands, The Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan. Capabilities of the CH-47F Tandem Rotor Design: The CH-47F features a distinctive tandem rotor system with two counter-rotating rotors. This design provides exceptional handling qualities and allows for a large lift capacity, which is crucial for carrying heavy payloads. The absence of a tail rotor also enhances safety in confined areas and simplifies maintenance, offering unhindered rear cargo and troop loading in addition to side door access. Powerful Performance: Powered by two Honeywell T55-GA-714A engines, the CH-47F offers impressive power and performance. These engines deliver up to 4,868-shaft-horsepower combined, enabling the aircraft to reach speeds over 175 mph (282 km/h) with a payload of more than 21,000 pounds (9,500kg). Cargo Handling and Versatility: The CH-47F's large cargo hold can accommodate a wide variety of loads, from standard palletized goods to vehicles and artillery, as well as the fuel cells for “Fat Cow” operations. Its rear-loading ramp and three external cargo hooks provide multiple options for loading and unloading, facilitating efficient logistics operations under diverse conditions. Advanced Avionics and Systems: The “glass-cockpit” of the CH-47F is equipped with advanced avionics, including a Rockwell Collins Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) cockpit, BAE Systems' Digital Advanced Flight Control System (DAFCS), night vision-compatible displays, and modern navigation systems. These enhancements improve situational awareness and flight safety, particularly in challenging environments. Crew Capacity and Configuration: Typically operated by a crew of three (two pilots and a flight engineer), the CH-47F can also carry up to 3 gunners. Enhanced Survivability: Advanced countermeasures suite, which includes radar warning receivers and infrared countermeasures. Its rugged airframe and systems redundancy are designed to withstand significant damage. The CH-47F is an essential component of any military or humanitarian fleet, capable of performing in the most demanding situations. Its enduring design and continual updates ensure that it will remain a key player in aviation for years to come. 5. Well, one can argue there is no “C” without the back-end: support, CSAR, transport of ammo and other logistics, … There are a lot of people including myself who are VERY interested in more support-related tasks, and in the end it should integrate well with the upcoming dynamic campaign as well. For short: more action-oriented people should be happy there are others who take care of logistics, and the people who enjoy logistics can be happy they don’t have to be constantly in the thick of the action Win-win!

  6. Seeing as how my last purchase isn't even available yet. The one prior to that doesn't seem to be getting any further updates under this "EA" title. No, I cannot say I'm going to buy anything with Early Access written near it ever again, sorry ED, not sorry. Especially when a listing of features can't be written out besides "it has a 3d model", like... come on; that's seriously low bar.

  7. And so shall the battlefield be covered in a thousand mangled Chinook airframes, each representing one of my futile attempts at a display of competent airmanship. May the cargo rest in peace and its intended recipient live to receive delivery another day.

  9. A night bomber is no use if you cant use it at night! We have looked into the H2S system and the radar dome is modelled but we don't plan on having it on release, we want to get a Lancaster out at some point and the earlier varients of the Lancaster didn't include the H2S, generally the later war equipment will be coming after an initial release Im not sure what I have and haven't posted in terms of screenshots so apologies if you have already seen this one

  17. Forgive me, but how can ED be ready to offer a module up for pre-purchase and yet not be ready to tell us what the EA features should be, let alone what they should be at full release? I mean, I don't even know what I'm buying into right now or what I'm supposed to expect from my purchase. As such I'm incredibly hesitant to entertain preordering, especially with this being somewhat of a running theme for numerous anticipated features.

  21. What the actual Duck did I just read? That must be the most ignorant statement of the day.... Has it crossed your mind at any moment, that there are other usecases for computers than gaming? And gamers absolutely want efficiency, because efficiency only means max output per input. Or max fps per watt. Intel messed up, sure, but that doesn't make E-cores a bad idea per se.

  22. With the proliferation of FFB devices, mostly thanks to Walmis with VPForce Rhino, there was the talks of creating FFB rudder pedals. IIRC, the kit for MFG rudder pedals will be available soon, but from what the devs are saying DCS does not support FFB effects on the Rudder axis, only for Pitch/Roll. Main use case would be to support anti-torque pedals trimming for the helos that support it, but also to offload some of the haptic feedback to the pedals as well. I have searched the thread, didn't found another thread so I'm making this one. Please, take this into consideration, folks with FFB pedals will be really happy and by the looks of it, there'll be more and more of them.

  23. Good Evening everyone. I have released the Iranian Frigate IRIS Alvand with liveries of the IRIS Alborz (72) & IRIS Sabalan (73). The flight deck area is too small to land a helicopter unless you land sideways but it will be a tight fit. I think it was placed on the ships for cargo drops. The Alvand classor Saam classwas originally a class of four frigates built for the Imperial Iranian Navy. They were renamed after the Iranian Revolution and served in the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy during the Iran-Iraq War. Three still remain in service. A fourth was sunk by the U.S. Navy in 1988 during Operation Praying Mantis on 18 April 1988. Located by two American A-6E Intruders of Attack Squadron VA-95 steaming roughly 16 kilometers (10 mi) southwest of Larak Island, she was hit by two Harpoon missiles and four AGM-123 Skipper II laser-guided missiles. A pair of Rockeye cluster bombs from the aircraft and a single Harpoon from the destroyerUSS Joseph Straussfinished the destruction of the ship. Thank you all for your patience. Please notify me if you have any major technical issues. Enjoy!

  24. This was always the case. Always, since the beginning, regardless of anything the companies involved say. This is why you should only buy modules if you are happy with their current state, and you should not buy them if you will only be happy if they eventually end up in some imagined future state, because it is always a possibility that that might not happen. I have personally been happy with every module I've purchased, because I buy them based on the features they have at the time they are released, and I manage my expectations so that I will not feel completely doomed and betrayed if they never get more patches. I expect to be quite happy with the CH-47 as well, and I'm looking forward to flying it.

  25. I understand, and waiting is fine, as mentioned we want to release the full list of features for the early access and will once confirmed. Yep, It is a favourite of mine, jumped on and off them many times, and was a rigger / marshaller working with them in my army days.

  27. Fwiw, I said it my other post "there is no indication they will support it in 1.1", but it's just a guess. We might might be pleasantly surprised. I highly doubt it though. Looks to me like they only care about standalone in their strategy (and unarguably there are good reasons for that). IMO best thing that would happen to us is them 100% abandoning Quest Link (as in: it's not available at all). This way something innovative and cared for, like Virtual Desktop, becomes the new standard and sets the bar. Virtual Desktop already has the features you want, without Developer Mode limitations. Virtual Desktop will soon have quad views support out-of-the-box without the need for any mod.

  28. And due to this I will not be preordering. I have been bitten one too many times from ED early access. Will the Chinnok release with LODs as multiple previous aircraft have not? I couldn't help but notice there was no clip showing crew loading into the aircraft, same with the vehicle. That should be implemented along with bringing that to all the other applicable helicopters in the sim. I look forward to purchasing, when the dust has settled and it's clear what exaclty is being sold.

Guess I never thought of all that. Sorry, still don't see a connection with Raz. Don't have enough data to pick a side, so I'm going to pass on it and carry on.

  36. Since when has any DCS map had full detail in every area? How demanding is mostly flat, low resolution terrain? Some of us already have flown over Afghanistan in DCS and it is currently possible to do it from the sea. As there is no fighting to happen at low levels in that area, it is not as if it needs to be super detailed. And, if adding lower detailed areas is such a drag on development, then the extra effort into making 3 separate renditions of low detail areas in 3 distinct maps just for Afghanistan alone perhaps makes a great deal of sense to someone who is not me.

It's also possible change versions, including going backwards, with the DCS updater. So it's possible for you to stick to a specific version while also playing with others on the latest version through multiple means.

  46. Seriously? What do you think would happen if we all just kept quiet or stopped participating in the early access program altogether? Do you even remotely believe ED could continue to fund itself? But apart from that. You should realize yourself that, if anything, you've made the worst argument ever. Even if it is the early access program, it should be possible to make justified criticism. Trying to shut us, the customers, up or even portraying us as stupid children is more than cheeky. We know very well what early access entails, and yet it must be possible to point out that something is going exceptionally wrong without you making us out to be possible idiots. What's wrong with you?
