  3. We're all waiting on an update. GD is still working on the merge. In other news, @plott1964 helped me out with some code for the VVI pages. I had modified them to allow for the EFM's capabilities. +- 100 degrees AoA, +- 17.5 G and +- 100k FPM. However, with the new capabilities you can easily exceed 100 AoA either direction, and you can exceed 100k FPM going straight down. Not for long mind you, the ground has a PK of 1. Now the actual gauge indicators will "go away" if you exceed the scale of the gauge. Say you pull 120 degrees of AoA, which is really easy to do with the TVC, the gauge will read up to 100 and digital readout will still show whatever it actually is, but the gauge stops reading at 101 and will start again when you drop back down into the scale. It works pretty well. I don't think you'll ever hit 17.5 G's but you can hit 12-13. And I had it up to 110k FPM in a full power vertical decent from 50k feet. And she can hit 60k FPM in a vertical accent under full power. This thing is a beast with 70k lbs of thrust. That was the last existing page that I know of that needed adjusting. Things are looking good.

  5. Here is a First Look at AI_ATC Andersen AFB. This video demonstrates the departure and approach procedures for Runway 06L. The video is time stamped so you can skip the boring bits, or you can watch the whole video warts and all. AI_ATC Andersen AFB is available early to Patreon supporters. If you've enjoyed Nellis AFB and found it useful, consider trying out Andersen AFB. https://www.patreon.com/c/Avalanche110 Bellow is the approach Chart referenced in the Video.

  6. Hi! I've been working on a tool to manage DCS and SRS servers. It lets you start/restart/stop, edit configs, upload missions, download tracks, and even configure automatic health checks that keep your server up and restart it when it crashes, etc. All with a very strong focus on making things simple: installation is just running an exe, configuration is just there in the ui, etc. It started as a simple script for myself, then evolved into a nicer web ui, and then I decided to share it with the world and so put some effort into making it super easy to use. It has some overlap with the DCS Server Bot, obviously. But I really don't like the idea of administering servers via Discord chat, and wanted something far more simple than what the bot provides (too many extra things to install, configure, maintain, etc). 7. Also, to not get confused, some screenshots above have different external 3d model - those are before the model was made into M4 variant of the su-22 (2 extra R-60 pylons, countermeasures pods, extended vertical stabiliser). Here is how the external stuff looks now, as well as some liveries that will be included. Right now there are Luftwaffe, Hungarian, Libyan, Peruvian, Czech, Soviet, Syrian, Polish and Ukrainian liveries. Stay tuned and have a nice day!

  8. Subj. When using DTC screen, every enemy and friendly ground and aerial unit is shown on the map, despite the "Map Only" option is selected. The same happens with other similar options: "A/C Only", "Allies Only". Statics are hidden as they should be. The same happens in multiplayer too. Unit's options "Hidden on MFD" and "Hidden on Planner" don't affect visibility. One could argue that DTC screen is a sort of a planner rather than F10-map. I can't post a track, since there is another bug, but it is very easy to reproduce. Mission attached. Steps to reproduce: 1) Spawn in DTC-capable aircraft. 2) Open DTC. 3) Observe all units you are not supposed to in real time. This is very critical for certain servers and massive events. Right now, we effectively can't play the way we were intended to because of this bug. dtc-godeye.miz

  9. Su-22m4 for DCS World! Mod developement thread. discord: https://discord.com/invite/6yqcEngfE8 First of all, this is separate project from Sniper's and Octopuss Su-22. I'm making Su-22m4 with custom cockpit and external model, based on FC3 (Su-25A) avionics with PFM. Mod will be released soon as a AI 3d model replacement for Su-17m4 and then, in the meantime I'll work further on developing the flyable mod (mainly working on cockpit) External model is 90% done, with most of the animations, and some liveries. Liveries include Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Ukrainian, Russian, Syrian, DDR and some other. Cockpit needs to be animated as well with making all the scripts and logic in lua. Yes, it will have variable sweep wings! It will carry a lot of unguided weaponry such as bombs and rockets, as well as guided munitions such as Kh-29 missiles family, ARM and more. Maybe I will be able to add TV seeker view into the cockpit CRT without switching to Su-25T avionics, but I dont promise anything yet. No ETA, stay tuned, the AI replacement will be public soon.

  16. That's not related to what you said. "Given that we've heard and seen absolutely nothing on this from the dev for years, I suspect we're years away from seeing this, if indeed we ever do. " >We have heard >It's confirmed by the devs in text and videos >We already have CE, EE and BE which were also promised No one ever gives exact release dates until they're more or less sure that it will be ready for release by that date.

  17. Hi We had a hotfix ready for the next day after release on navigation aids, but its release is delayed. Also in DCS World the algorithm of RSBN operation has changed, we initially had channels assigned, but then we reworked them by analogy with Kavkaz: the beacon needs to specify the frequency 8XX, where XX is the RSBN channel. Now again there is work to clarify the operation of RSBN.

  20. I would like to see Nordhorn on the map in the third phase. Established as the Nordhorn Air-to-Ground Weapon Range by the Royal Air Force, the area was and still is available to NATO forces for training exercises. Coordinates: 52° 26′ 9″ N, 7° 12′ 29″ E (some miles NW of Rheine-Hopsten AB) Good information (and pictures) can be found here: https://www.relikte.com/nordhorn/index.htm or on Wikipedia

  23. Thanks a lot !! I had to create my own PBR textures and tryed different colors schemes that would work, I still need a few more but so far, things are going well. For the first time i also played around and created some Roughmets. Sure there's a lot when it comes to the landscape detail itself which is missing, even the small lake which is located north west of the base is missing and yes the Ems river is wrong.. don't know UGRA should work with Google or Bing maps so at the least the landscape and roads would be accurate. The "Killer High Grass" is a problem no matter what you try.. Roughmet..

  24. After a previous post on runway attacks — “Is (Almost) Everyone Doing It Wrong???” — I thought it was time to look at another area where fundamentals are often misunderstood: formation flying. Yes, it’s fun to fly tight and get the perfect screenshot, but tactical formations aren’t about looking good — they’re about mutual support, survivability, and combat performance. And just like with runway strikes, a lot of DCS players are unintentionally flying in ways that greatly reduce their effectiveness. This post intends to highlight two of the most common mistakes that show up again and again in MP flights and training servers. Tactical 2-Ship Formations: Quick Overview Line Abreast: the default combat geometry. Both aircraft fly side by side, offering full radar separation, 360° visual coverage, and flexibility for offensive or defensive turns. Wedge: wingman is 30–45° back and offset. More maneuverable, better for terrain or fluid situations, but reduces rearward lookout — especially for the wingman. Fighting Wing: tight and offset behind the lead. Works for training, weather, or short strike runs, but has nearly no place in contested airspace. Limits visibility, and reaction time. Common Mistake 1: Flying Too Close Flying tight may look sharp, but in combat it kills effectiveness. The wingman becomes fixated on avoiding the lead, leaving little mental bandwidth for scanning threats or managing weapons. Visual scan collapses. Radar coverage overlaps. Mutual support disappears. Tactical spacing should allow: A break turn toward your six without risk of collision. Enough distance to remain outside minimum range for your own weapons. As a rule: the faster and higher you go, the more spacing you need. 1.5 –2.5 Nm at low level is normal. At altitude or during supersonic cruise, 4–5 Nm may be required. If you're flying that close in combat, you're too close... Common Mistake 2: Flying on the Wrong Side Wingman position is tactical, not cosmetic. You're not just mirroring your lead — you’re scanning a specific part of the sky. The wingman is responsible for a visual and radar sector. Flying on the wrong side creates blind zones and ruins mutual support. Here’s how to choose the correct side: If there's a known threat — fly opposite. If not — position opposite the most significant air traffic. Still nothing? — avoid terrain hazards like antennas or cities. Clean airspace? — fly opposite the sun. That old trick of diving out of the sun still works, especially when nobody’s watching. Want More? This post just scratches the surface. Read the full article to know more!

  28. Ditto this! I have a campaign outline created for exactly this that I'd be happy to give away, but the reality is that I'm never going to have time to give it the attention it deserves . The reference points scattered around Sweden when "real life" is used are pretty fantastic for allowing the player to deal with unexpected twists. The radio logic for triggers is kind of weird, not nearly as simple as with Viper or Hornet, but I figured out pretty efficient way of handling that. The real headache for me, anyway, was building an ATC system for the BAS 60/90 air bases, each with numerous runways. A Viggen campaign has to use roadbases to be fun /realistic, and a probably a whole bunch of them. In my mind, ATC should work like it does in a Ground Pounder campaign, and for me anyway, the sheer quantity of triggers quickly got out of hand given the limited time I could devote to the project.

  29. Hello, I have encountered two things I see repeated in a few places that would be very fun for the module! Most common, I see late MiG-17F fighter bomber squadrons being modified to fire S-24 and needing to stiffen the rear shock absorbers to increase ground clearance. This would be a very fun weapon for such a small and spunky aircraft! Two, I found a mention that S-21 was designed with MiG-17F in mind, and that the sight would program the fuse to detonate at the range the sight was at to, making it an extremely potent anti bomber/large aircraft weapon. Saying the weapon could explode 15m from a bomber and still be expected to mission kill it.

  33. I thought the same, but Finnish server is the most unrealistic and at the same time the most popular, many gamers want easy FMs and are intimidated by DCS FM and high fidelity planes, which is what makes DCS warbirds just amazing. LA7 at least will have planes to fight against, contrary to the IL 16, which does not make sense at all. DCS WWII needs a Germany map

  34. Oh you say the Hellcat is out? Oh wait it isn't We aren't just talking full fidelity here, lack of AI aircraft to make proper 1944 missions and environment. The Mossie didn't sell well enough, so they haven't done anything with it for 3 years except using it as a test bed for some new gear physics(probably because it didn't sell well enough, so if it broke only a few would get effected.) Nothing major has happened for WW2 DCS for 3 years, imagine if nothing had happened to DCS jets for 3 years. What 3rd parties are you talking about? The Corsair that is at 8 years and counting development time, or the I-16 that doesn't fit into anything we have, or the IL-7 that also won't fit into anything we have? Again, it's a lack of interest from ED that is stopping development nothing else. They choose to prioritize their jet stuff, because that's were the money is. But as long as they do that, they'll never make a proper WW2 sim for those that want that. We'll see when the PTO comes out, if it will get proper support, or if it will get a few thigs, then nothing for 3+ years. And the full fidelity isn't an issue, if you ask someone who flies that other WW2 sim, why they don't fly WW2 DCS. You'll always get the same answers. 1 Too expensive, having to buy an aircraft, a map and a asset pack(ED is again forcing a paid asset pack for PTO) 2. Not a real WW2 sim, as there is next to no aircraft to fly. Lacking any proper WW2 environment and a mismatch of aircraft and maps. Both those answers is something ED could do something about if they wanted to. They simply don't want to, because they don't believe it will make them enough money. Which is perfectly legit reason for a company that has to make money, but don't make up other reasons for why nothing major is happening with WW2 DCS

  35. With the new ATC coming, we should be able to man it like the tower on a carrier and the LSO station. Direct traffic, maybe a GCI element, would be fun on multi-player servers, and could even make it, that IF the tower is manned, AI aircraft won't take off or land unless instructed to do so. If the tower is unmanned, they'll behave as normal.

  37. Okay, so y'all will be happy to know that I did NOT give up and I finally managed to get the thing airborne, get the gear and flaps up, and get it trimmed out. Then, of course, I found out that it's actually a very nice airplane to fly. It handles about like you'd ecpect a plane that size to handle but it's also quite fast for a bomber. It will do 300 kts without breathing hard. Anyway, now that I find I can actually fly the thing (with a little help from my friends), I will definitely be adding it to my hanagr. Cheers!

  40. When tail is rising, gyroscopic precession will swing plane to the left in order to minimize this effect pull stick a bit back to slow down tail rise rate that helps a lot to stabilize that process. Another common issue is over-correcting, in other words you end up fighting instabilities during take off made by your inputs. Here is my take off with controls scheme and pre take off trimming shown as well. Shortest airfield in normandy which i could find.

  41. Some update pics from yesterday: The IRST pods are new. I bought the model and Spino helped convert it. I redid the textures and positioning and hope to use it for a future purpose. The same goes for the Mako missile. I bought the model and Spino helped with it. Oh, and the fuel tanks are the ones I did from the F-16 CFT mod. Since they're 600 gal ish and don't have the plumbing at the rear, they're a better option until we can obtain the Low Drag Tank and Pylon versions that will use the same pylon as the IRST with a stealthier tank. The added benefit is that when you jettison them, the pylon goes with. I redid the textures on those tanks and made an F22 specific version to match the RAM coating paint. Because I was inverted:
