Been a productive day. I essentially rebuilt the PMFD page to combine the stock version with the one I had done a couple years ago. At the time, it was a decrypted version of the PMFD system file and it didn't have everything. Now the config functionality is restored, although the status part is different because of the changes I made to the page and the code. However, I also enabled keyboard and joystick binds for all of them. The buttons on either side of the PMFD will also activate the choice. Canopy/Tint, Visor/Type, Flood/Color etc. Changing the options no longer requires weight on wheels, so you can do it any time. From the external view you'll be able to cycle the canopy and visor options, from inside, the photo, the flood lights and the Garfield clinger. And speaking of canopy, I was inspired by Speaker's work, and I really liked the rose-colored option. I've created my own and replaced the clear canopy with it. All of these options will be in the next release, probably tomorrow or so.7 points

Thanks for the feedback! And yea, I've noticed that I'm skipping meals and not getting as much sleep as I should. I have a full-time job but took this week off. I was actually intending to FLY this thing, but I've spent all of my time working on it instead.5 points

-------UPDATE 250529 Rebuilt the PMFD system file. Canopy Tint, Visor, Flood Color, Photo, Garfield Clinger, Left and Right Kneeboards are all selectable from the Checklist page (CHK) or from newly created keyboard/joystick bindings found under F-22 Misc. These can be changed at any time, weight on wheels isn't required. The status part is different because of the changes I made to the page and the code. The buttons on either side of the PMFD will also activate the choice. Canopy/Tint, Visor/Type, Flood/Color etc. Added working menu selections to all PMFD pages. Rescaled the VVI G Meter for 4/8/12 G indications with a limit of 14 G. Added a rose colored canopy tint option inspired by Speaker's work. It is not the same texture or rough material as his. It replaces the clear canopy option.4 points

From the first post in this thread: "We dont want to state any time window for release as the mod is still far off and we want to get it right without having to skip steps to meet a set date". If someone is working in their own spare time on something you will get for free, "when it's ready" is an entirely appropriate response, in my opinion. And very likely the only answer they can give, in such circumstances, since work, personal life etc may have to take priority.4 points

I just updated/fixed some of the data in the rsbn navigation for DDR. I would still need some help from you guys, with location indicators or ICAO code (its a four-letter word) of some airports, I was just unable to find. These are the airports (No of the rsbn channel) I would need codes: - Mahlwinkel (6) - Altes-Lager (24) - Sperenberg (28) - Damgarten (32) - Gross Mohrdorf -- Example: ETSH is for Holzdorf airport I am not sure how Russians had that salved back then, but as far as I know, they also had ICAO codes for all the airports or air bases. Oh, and btw, the updated file is in the 1st post.2 points

IRL Magic I can still track front quarter as long as the IR source is still there and gimble limits are not exceeded. Fusing is obviously the issue with Magic I. Magic I seeker sensitivity was good enough to get lock at 90 degrees Angle Off on a Mil powered target 700deg C JPT at 2nm at medium altitude, so not sure what the 63deg aspect thing is about.2 points

Well with them doing an F-35 they cant use the "too classified" excuse for pretty much anything anymore. That ship has sailed as we know know they can pretty much do it all. So yeah the MH-47 stuff should be done or at the BARE MINIMUM M134's and a refueling probe.2 points

They could launch and trap, but they couldn't go below decks. Which is why there's the clips of them doing carrier quals on Coral Sea, and the story of a jet each from VF-114 and 213 that landed on Midway due to weather and low fuel state and launched the next day.2 points

OK, I got the permission from Gunthrek. I have fixed several more bugs, made a few more improvements, and generated voiceovers where needed, and finally uploaded it as a complete Fixpack Edition to DCS files where you can find the final list of improvements as well: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3344992/ Many thanks to Gunthrek again for his work. Even working on these fixes took quite an effort let alone creating the original campaign.2 points

OK dear fellows, Just a quick update on my upcoming Mi-24 campaign set in Afghanistan. As with all my previous campaigns, this one will be story-driven and supported with plenty of documentation—approach charts, briefings, and more. And of course, a must for me: full voice-over! Thanks to AI, voice quality and realism are getting better and better. For authenticity, all dialogues are in Russian with English subtitles. That said, a big apology to all native Russian speakers—while I do speak some Russian, my level isn't high enough to ensure 100% accurate dialogue. Sorry about that! Sure, I could try to find native Russian speakers to help, which would be awesome—but it would also take much more time to finish the campaign. And since it’s a free one... As of today, I’ve written 11 missions. The campaign spans about 10 days. 8 missions are ready, and 5 have been fully tested and (hopefully!) are bug-free. Cheers null2 points

@BIGNEWY As a reference I created the R73 scenario again, but now with a player F16 instead. I tried it 10 times and the pilot survived 6 times! So I have a 0% survival rate against a R73 in a F/A-18 and a 60% survival rate against a R73 in the F-16. I don't know why the qa team is happy with the results, when they tested this for hours, but there is definitely something wrong with the hornet damage model. kind regards TEST_F16_PLAYER_SHOT_DOWN_R73_FROM_REAR.miz2 points

UPDATE – BO-105 DEVELOPMENT STATUS It’s time for a proper update. Since 2013, I’ve been working to bring the BO-105 into DCS – and the path has been anything but smooth. I’ve gone through technical hell, complete rewrites, system redesigns, hardware issues – and just as many challenges caused by people, not technology. To be clear: some individuals actively made it difficult to realize this module. Instead of support, I encountered deliberate resistance, withheld knowledge, and ego games from so-called “experts” who could’ve helped but chose not to. But I didn’t give up. I pushed forward. A true game-changer came with access to the original technical documentation from Lager Lechfeld. These documents didn’t just clarify the system architecture – they provided every single value needed to accurately simulate the engine: flow rates, pressures, temperature limits, control curves, response timings – all of it. That level of data brought the entire project to the next level of fidelity. Right now, we’re fully focused on improving and finalizing the fuel control system, which is directly dependent on the GPFC (Gas Producer Fuel Control) – the brain of the BO-105’s turbine management. The current implementation includes: – Fuel flow logic and pressure dynamics – Ohmic resistance, voltage, amperage, and current load behavior – Hydraulic system response and complete onboard electrical logic – All connected in one integrated simulation environment The engine is being simulated 1:1, using real-world parameters – no assumptions, no placeholders. Just raw, system-level fidelity. And that’s not all – the entire rotor system is fully modeled, including the hingeless, rigid rotor head and its unique 78° phase lag. This key difference to conventional rotor systems has a significant impact on control behavior and is being replicated exactly in the flight model. So why all this? Because the BO-105 is the love of my life. This isn’t just about “getting it to fly” – it’s about honoring a machine that deserves to exist in DCS in all its technical brilliance. To those who’ve supported this project over the years – thank you. To those who made it harder – congratulations. You made it take longer. But you didn’t stop it. This isn’t just a helicopter mod. It’s a mission that started in 2013 – sharpened by adversity, fueled by obsession, and built with absolute love and respect for this aircraft. And yes – I know the flight model commentary is coming. I’ll be reading it… popcorn in hand2 points

Was meint Ihr? VG Mattes1 point

I've noticed that no other ground mapping radar in the game seems to be effected by jamming in the way that the Viggen is. Even the Viggen itself only "sees" jamming from ships, and not any other source. This leads me to the question of how it's implemented in the Viggen. Is it: 1) An actual interaction between the ship and the aircraft. Ex: The ship object starts jamming, this information is passed to the aircraft object, which produces the jamming effect on the radar display. OR 2) Wholly contained in the aircraft's logic, and not an actual interaction. Ex: The Viggen's code has some rule for when a ship WOULD turn on it's jammer, and when that condition is met, it produces jamming effects on the radar display. If 1) then is there a way to set a ship's jamming behavior in the ME?1 point

Hello, We noticed an issue with GBU-16 in loft bombing on the F-18: the unguided ballistics is so long (2000') that the bomb never acquires the laser spot if we try to guide it. Therefore the bomb is always long and unguided. By comparison, an unguided GBU-12 in loft bombing is approximately 700' long, and can easily be lased to its target. Self-lasing loft bombing with GBU-12 is indeed quite effective. The attached tacview track will illustrate this issue: first pass is guided GBU-12 (direct hit), second pass is unguided GBU-12 (700' long), third and fourth passes are unguided GBU-10 (2000' long, laser ont target, climb 25° and 40°), last pass is guided GBU-12 (direct hit). Tests with GBU-10 are pending. Did anyone notice this issue already? Did anyone managed to do loft bombing with GBU-16? Thanks! Test GBU-12 and GBU-16.zip.acmi1 point

The other cause of ghosting is a framerate lower than the HMD framerate. For example, if your game frame rate is only 50 fps and your HMD refresh rate is 90hz -> the result is ghosting.1 point

Was soll den sowas...... unglaublich....1 point

Any chances of including a double kneeboard option for those that fly with the pilot body visible? 1 per leg, for example, Map/Route on your left and commo on your right. Could set each kneeboard using the current pin system. Pin 1-5 left leg, Pin 6-10 right leg. I requested a tablet but I guess that's to modern so maybe this will be more attainable.1 point

the FPM change does not matter. what matters is how rapidly you are moving the controls. based on the movement of the WHITE player-input-position indicators: 1. you are moving the collective up/down by as much as 10% of its travel in fractions of a second 2. you are moving the pedals by as much as 30% of their travel in fractions of a second. 3. you are making similarly jerky movements with the cyclic, but over only about 5% of travel. Whether or not you can get away with this in other helicopters is irrelevant - other helicopters are not the AH-64. You are not giving smooth inputs, you are causing PIO, and the SCAS is not able to keep up as a result. Maybe you used to be able to fly like this in a previous patch and the SCAS was masking it. Should the SCAS be quick enough and have enough authority to mask you rapid inputs? I don't know. But i do know bad technique when i see it, and i see it in your video. Diagnose one problem at a time. Make smoother and smaller inputs, give the helicopter time to react to your inputs, and then see if the unwanted yaw behavior is still there.1 point

Agreed. It doesn't help that it freezes and crashes every other launch for me. It just feels like a clunkier version of the Mission Editor, but with fewer options. I think the ME is awesome and that the old "create fast mission" generator was different enough to warrant its existence, too. But as for this, I will likely never touch the QAG again.1 point

Ditto this. I was messing around with it this morning, and the old Quick Mission Generator was better.1 point

Hi fighters HotFix has been delayed, but it will be on your computers soon. We have received amazing feedback from you. We have tried to fix everything we saw and even more. If you created a topic in the bugs section and your problem was solved - write about it, because we read it. Check the ILS, RSBN for interference - everything should work. So let's look at the list: - RAM and video memory usage has been reduced - optimized traffic: the amount of harvester traffic is reduced, vehicle traffic is shifted to cities and airfields - fixed normals on road intersection textures - corrected errors in frequencies and beacon locations: Briest RSBN is set to terrain, added Mendig NDB 331.0 NMN, Tempelhof VOR/DME changed to VORTAC, added Kirn VORTAC 117.5 KIR ch 122, added Solling NDB 374.5 SOG - corrected errors in taxiways of the following airfields: Allstedt, Bitburg, Bremen, Hahn, Hannover, Merseburg, Neubrandenburg, Neuruppin, Peenemunde, Pferdsfeld, Ramstein, Schonefeld, Schweinfurt, Sembach, Spangdahlem, Stendal, Tegel, Tempelhof, Tutow. - Ramstein taxiway signage corrected - removed trees on helipads: H_GDR_34, H_FRG_46, H_FRG_51 - color correction of airfield ground textures: Bitburg, Buckeburg, Frankfurt, Finow, Giebelstadt, Gutersloh, Holzdorf, Ramstein, Sembach, Spangdahlem, Werneuchen - fixed bugs in models - disabled unused models and textures - increased height of tank bridge on ranges - added straight electric wires on poles along streetcar and railroad tracks - added marine passenger ship in the scenes of ports and traffic - corrected incorrect display of icons and names on the map - added markings of air defense points, radars and hospitals on the map - improved image quality for the main menu1 point

Just finished the 2nd Mission (The raid) with 3h or more. It is just awesome! The dialogs are excellent and the missions are really fun and engaging. I'm not using any time acceleration and I enjoy every minute of this campaign. The added music together with the excellent lighting in the early morning hours gives the campaign a Triple-A feeling. Just unbelievable how much entertainment you get for those few bucks the campaign cost. Excellent work!1 point

Hi, it happens because on latest dcs the flamming cliffs Dll is not loaded by default. A workaround us to first start on an A-10A, like this: setup a test mission with two clients: an A-10A (not the C model), and a Vsn Hunter mk6. Start the mission and enter first to the A-10A, then press esc and select change Slot, to enter the Hunter, it should now work.1 point

Cockpit canopy should be open. There may also be intercom option. In RL, at least from watching exercises, A-10 pilots communicate with crew chies via cable, but canopy open. Chocks are pulled , and aircraft rools. Canopy is closed and ejection safety is armed only when aircraft has cleared enclosure roof.1 point

As a maker of Swedish Campaigns, I find it annoying that all my flights are named "Enfield" and "Springfield" rather than Urban and Olle as they should be. It is also confusing for the player for obvious reasons and for accessibility reasons, I do not wish to limit the players view of the F-10 map. If there is an option to alter this, I have not found it and would honestly like to hard wire it into the mission itself.1 point
