Vehicles should not be invisible in IR. With 20ºC a vehicle should be hotter than the environment, even if it has the engine off.
-
Adjunsting the level and gain is needed, brightness and contrast helps a little to fine tune the image. Sometimes, the TV is clearer than the FLIR because with FLIR the vehicles are completely invisible. I remember it happened to me the mission at night with bright a moon, 20ºC, with FLIR the targets were invisible but I could see them clear with TV.

correct as is Paveway III, dropping short?
Ignition replied to AngryViper.101's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Didn't see the tracks but remember the reach of the DCS laser is fixed at about 9nm, don't lase before that unless someone else guides the bomb. -
Has anything change about releasing GBU using CCRP?
Ignition replied to 5ephir0th's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I don't know if this is the case but LGBs need to be released with the aircraft flying to the ASL and without rolling the aircraft. -
Question about Nav Fix (recent Wags video)
Ignition replied to twistking's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Thanks, this clarifies a lot more. I think ED should do these explanations BEFORE an inportant update like this because it generates a lot of confusion. Also why some modules like the A-10C or the F-18C work like they do vs the F-16C. A simple explanation is enough, it doesn't need to be very complex just so most of the people can understand. -

MMMmmm this makes more sense. -
Question about Nav Fix (recent Wags video)
Ignition replied to twistking's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Fancy, depends on what you call it fancy. The weapons of the DCS F-16C have some decades. If I shoot an AGM-88C in PB EOM it will use the GPS coordinates or INS? If I dorp a JDAM it will use GPS or INS coorinates? If I drop a JSOW it will use GPS or INS coordinates? If I drop a CBU-105/103 it will use the GPS or INS coordinates? How does the aircraft know the "sys aircraft accur" is High? How much drift per hour can accumulate? So now not even the TGP coordinates are accurate? This looks like a pre 2000 like the viggen or the F-14 and not a 2007 aircraft. I'm not against the INS FIX though, but this looks really old and confusing. -

What's an "extended flight"? My regular flights are about 90 minutes. I guess an "extended flight" is more than 2 hours? -

Why does it have GPS then? -
Today I practiced TOS with a friend, he was on a F-18C and I had to manualy sync the clock time to his because there was 2 mintes of difference.

Downwind is at 1000ft AGL 1nm from the runway (I do 1.2-1.5 if I have more weight), when the wing is aligned with the end of the runway start your base turn and I do about -3 degress pitch down. On final extend the air breakes and put the dashed horizontal line (-3º glide slope) on the end of the runway. You know the rest. Breake landings are for formations, this way they are easy to control and faster to land when multiple aircrafts arrive to the airport.

As I said I did the tests with the shelter, not the ammo depot. I will not bother with the tracks since they saved wathever they want, an F-14 on batumi, I saved all the tracks and all of them saved the same F-14 track. If you want is as simple as droping a GBU-31 3/B with an F-16 to a static shelter. It will be even faster than downloading the track file. The GBU-24 A/B will destroy it in one hit but ONLY with AD 0, AD is working as FD so if you change it it will explode late.
-
Ok, I made some testings on the F-16C. First I droped 2 GBU-31 3/B FD 35ms to the shelter, it didn't get destroyed. Second I used the GBU-24 A/B, I got confused because the bombs went right through the shelter and impacted the ground a few meters after it, AD was set to 4 seconds. Then I tested with 8 seconds and the bomb did explode after 8 seconds of impact. Third, I used the GBU-24 A/B again but with AD 0 it did hit and destroy the shelter in 1 hit. AD is working as FD for this bomb. The GBU-31 3/B is not doing enough damage since both bombs are based on BLU-109. (I did save all the tracks but as always the track files do wathever they want and ALL the tracks saved the same file, an F-14 on batumi for wathever reason. I didn't even used the F-14 HAHAHAHA.)
-
I was talking specifically about GBU-24 A/B and GBU-31 3/B, both weapons are based on BLU-109. In DCS at least with the shelter the gbu-24 destroys it in one hit but 2 gbu-31 doesn't. I will try to test again the 31 with a bigger FD.
-
Both weapons use the BLU-109. I guess they should produce the same effect. I will try later with a greater FD, maybe 15ms was to short.
-
Hi. Today I tried the gbu-24 a/b and could destroy the shelter with a single bomb. But then I went with the gbu-31 3/b with FD 15 msec and then did another attack with air to the same target. I know air should do less damage but I don't know if this is working at all. Both gbu-31 3/b couldn't destroy the shelter which is weird since as I understand both bombs are "bunker buster".

can not reproduce Caution lights not/barly readable
Ignition replied to Bell's topic in Bugs and Problems
The lights are not very readable, you need to zoom in to read them. I know the position of the most common lights, but if you ask me what are they saying I don't know. -
requested How to Set laser code for GBU on hot aircraft
Ignition replied to RTS354's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I understand but years pass by and the modules are still incosistent. The F16 was released in 2019 and since then the way to change the laser codes was different to the other modules. -
It takes a few minutes more to takeoff but its much easier to boresight on the ground, unless you do it the wrong way and boresight with wathever like as frederf said it always boresights perfectly even if your tgp is not pointing to the right direction.

You know, TWS needs time to build the tracks. If an aircraft maneuvers in certain way it may lose the track, that's why TWS has a smaller scan volume than DTT.
-
This thread is about the benefit of TWS vs RWS, DTT is a submode of RWS and it can replace TWS but I don't know when DTT was implemented. If it wasn't implemented before 1992 then that may be the cause of using TWS instead. Other cause may be he didn't know how many bogueys to expect so he used TWS just in case, he switched to stt for the last half of the engagement. TWS doesn't give much benefits over RWS other than the posibility to engage more than 2 targets at the same time at the expense of more unreliability.
-
15 years ago DTT may not be implemented yet. Sorry but the video didn't say anything, it was cool though.
-
That's 15 years before the block we have in DCS.

Rockets are a waste of time in DCS. Even the smoke rockets are useless, they last 10 seconds or so.
-
I usually use RWS (DTT), for me its faster and more reliable. I occasionally use TWS but never for attack.
