Alright, after I dropped my bombs I also had 2 wing tanks 3 x aim120s and aim9, so I thought it would be CAT III with those, but it gave me warning while my plane was in CAT III configuration. what about the warning panel light, should it go off when the error is acknowledged?
-
Long time wish for many people here.
-
Atm in DCS if you have loaded HTS + TGP and ECM and you are in CAT III it will give you warning and switching to CAT I clears it with 2 bags also.
-
As Raptor9 said, manual has it pretty accurate but if you want to make sure, there are videos like this one out there.
-
And I thought this would never happen ;D

Hope he provides a track so we see whats going on, as far as I see it on the AP section of the panel under ROLL there are 3 modes, HDG Sel - ATT Hold - STRG Sel which, as the chuck's guide says: ROLL ATT HOLD: Attitude Hold in the roll axis. Aircraft will maintain the existing roll attitude, as long as the attitude is +/- 60 degrees in roll. ED guide says this. edit: Just did a small test and it holds roll like a charm
-
I think he is talking about use of Altitude hold only.

Hey, playing through the campaign and I love it, great work. Just flying mission 5 and I only have one remark, I'm supposed to follow Popeye (just like in some previous missions) but he is flying so slow, I think it might be better if they were flying a bit faster. I'm flying 250 knots and gaining on him at 25k.

@AstonMartinDBS Hey, I think you did not hit enter on Convert. Maybe I overlooked.

It is the weapon issue, until they update it we have to wait.

You can build it with one ship, if it moves around. Go to STPT 1 and draw a line at the emitter direction, move to STPT 2 draw another line, move to STPT 3 and you have triangulation. It is basic navigation. Those line don't have to be drawn as the image shows btw. As long as the are 2 or more lines intersecting you can determine position. More line with further distance between points of origin is better then just 2 lines off course.
-
My best guess is maybe software limitation? But it should work with 2 ship cause there are some basics of getting position of something in space, it is not science fiction. You can even get more or less precise position with 1 ship, if you know ships speed and direction (more or less cause of the signal spread etc.) after that just draw lines in the direction of the source every lets say 10 sec and you get its position, which is what HTS is essentially doing when trying to determine position of emitter, more precise with 2 ship sharing data and so on. So really don't get why we need 3 ship when you can get pretty much good data from 2 ship as well. It is just direction lines crossing each other on the map after all. If you get lets say 10 lines drawn you have pretty good accuracy there.

They really need to do something about that, there is nowhere we can refer to when using some weapons and systems, we are just guessing on how to use some stuff. And youtube is just video from people that are same as we are, only difference is that they make videos.

DMS down long turns it off, press it again and it will turn on. Check if some of your keybinds is bound to DMS Down. Or if some keybind is maybe turning the HMD knob off.
-
Short track please, it can be many things.

Apparently it was not correct and ED changed it. Now you have to select MAN with dobber switch and press 0/M-SEL to switch to AUTO.

Use what device and hand to click cockpits?
Furiz replied to Keith Briscoe's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Hey @Keith Briscoe My answer to your question is when I fly I try to be prepared as much as possible for the situation ahead. When I fly Viper or Hornet for example I set up my screens, countermeasures, ECM, bombs codes etc ahead of time, on the ramp or while flying to target destination so when I get there I am ready for whatever situation occurs with just one button click. And if I need to mouse click something it is usually one click and my hands are back on the stick. After all that's how they do it in real life, they have preparation before they even get into cockpit with briefings etc, then they set everything up while waiting to take off. That is how we should do it too, prepare for the mission then go do the mission ready. That way most of the time you won't even need to mouse click anything. Hope this helps. -
That article is from 2022, our F-16 is from 2007 (15 years apart) and Mavericks? who knows which year are they based on. The difference in technology now and then is huge. Then in that article they talk about planets and stars where distances are huge beyond our comprehension, we are talking about something else here, much closer and limited by the tech of that time (year 2007). How is movement affecting boresighting Mav, since boresight it is done instantly when you press the button. It is not a scan of few seconds so movement should affect it. So I ask you again to provide that, as you pointed out simple math, to ED so they can see if they made an error.
-
Can you give us an example in math on how to negate the effect? You can do it al short as 1 mile, but I find the best distance to be 4+ miles. The problem (in real life) in 2007 was that processors back then were not so great as they are today and jets still needed tremendous amount of calculations done to be able to deliver such weapons, communicate with link16, know what their position is in time and space etc etc. So I guess there wasn't much computing power left extra calculations. Sorry but all we can see from your text is that you are angry that you have to do in air Maverick alignment. This is a sim and simmers want accurate representation, they want all the problems that were there in real life as well as the goodies. If that means aligning Mavs in the air they yeah lets have that. On the other hand if you can provide math or have evidence that this was done differently please provide it cause after all we want accurate representation.

Options for Tpod, HUD, Maverick alinement on hot start.

Do QRF jets even have AG weapons loaded? I thought they only have air to air loadout. -
Using AGM-65D Maverick without TGP - Boresighting needed?
Furiz replied to Istari6's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
No you don't have to boresight since it is only use for aligning TGP seeker with Maverick seeker. In VIS mode you are only bringing you HUD TD BOX to an area of where the target might be then you fine tune maverick seeker to acquire target lock. You won't be doing target acquire with HUD TD BOX, it is only used to place the SPI in the approximate target area. It is much more accurate if you do the boresight in air at approximately 5 to 7nm distance from target. I usually do it on my way to target area on some small building I find on the way or a car etc.
