The F-16C Combat Fundamentals Guide rovides the necessary procedures to efficiently and effectively learn the necessary skills to be successful in effectively using the DCS F-16C Viper airframe. The DCS F-16C Flight Manual and the DCS F-16C Chucks Guide both provide detailed information on aircraft systems and systems operation. The Flight Manual and this publication complement each other. The accompanying Checklist is designed to work in conjunction with the above manual and contains: Normal Operations Checklist Combat Operations Checklist QRG for CMDS, Formations, Brevity Codes Creating these manuals and guides are a labor of love and passion, but it doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It takes a lot of time, patience and research and support from many people around me. If you enjoy these manuals and they help you, they’ve accomplished exactly what they are designed to do. Welcome to JTF-111! We offer: - Handmade wing-wide custom missions - Tuesdays training with our experienced aviators in your squadron airframe - 3 Training servers along - Unique dynamic campaign server - Weekly ops on Saturdays - Most importantly, good people to fly with Currently Recruiting: - F16 - F18 - CH-47F - AH-64D Overview We are focused on handmade PvE missions where we work together as a team to accomplish objectives. Our skilled mission designers produce detailed missions with realistic scenarios to provide the most immersive experience possible in DCS. We operate in the EST time zone, with trainings on Tuesdays and missions on Saturdays at 2000(08:00pm). We feature active F/A-18c, F16c and a helicopter battalion which operates the AH64 and the Kiowa and Chinook. We also on a mission by mission basis's as well including the Harrier, F14B, A10cII and Apache. Many of our members have aviation experience and are former or active duty. A typical mission would be preceded by a detailed mission brief. During the mission, we fly as a flight to the objective, use mulit-ship tactics to accomplish our mission, reform if we separate, and RTB back to base in formation. We use military brevity when possible during missions but are relaxed outside of it. We then review the mission on Tacview afterwards and try to learn from our mistakes. Training night We have four servers available 24/7 with custom-made training scenarios on each of the major maps. These training servers offer static ranges, spawn-able ranges including SAM ranges, red for aircraft, tankers and a BFM area. We do a squadron overview of the intended training goals before hitting the servers and practicing. We also feature a custom dynamic campaign hand built for our servers and available 24/7. Think Foothold or Pretense but scaled to the number of players providing a seamless experience solo or with a group of 20. This campaign features logistics, supply lines, realistic red-for responses and multimap support. You can conduct convoy hunting, anti-ship, SEAD, strike, SCAR and CAP missions. Who we are looking for: Aviation enthusiasts who enjoy engage flying in a group. You do not need to be the best pilot in the world, we would rather have someone who puts forth the effort and regularly participates. We have training materials on everything from ATC comms to BVR tactics to get you up to speed. Our pilots don’t need to complete a complex training regimen prior to be deemed mission ready – just a familiarization to get you familiar with our basic procedures prior to going out. So come, give us a shot. Requirements: - HOTAS - Headtracking or VR - 19 or older - Regular attendance (though we recognize real life comes first) Supercarrier if in our Hornet squadron If you are interested in joining please check out our discord! https://discord.gg/6qAgVgyg2A

Basically nothing to say to this except that it is dark and slightly looking different. Extract the zip so it is a normal folder go to 'Users\Lite\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\Cockpit_F-16C' drag the folder in there Launch DCS and go to the Options -> Special -> The Jet you want to have it on -> Cockpit -> Select the folder I did the same thing for the Hornet if you are interested. I have now spent a long time flying the F-16C Block 50 (which is great), but now that Denmark and the Netherlands are providing F-16s to Ukraine, I think it would be reasonable to introduce another F-16 variant. Another argument for this is that all the EPAF countries operate it, as well as other nations that have purchased second-hand F-16s, such as Romania. Taking a closer look at the Danish variant, since we are still operating it (for about one more year), it has been upgraded to Tape 6.5 (which would be classified). However, it would be feasible to implement a lower tape version that still features more modern and capable weapons than the current in-game F-16. This could also open the opportunity for more flexibility with the Dutch, Norwegian, and Belgian F-16AMs, which have extended tails. Additionally, all four countries have equipped their aircraft with the Terma PIDS+ and ECIPS/CJS pylons. These could either be selectable in a menu or included as a pylon extension. This variant would be fitted with the Westinghouse AN/APG-66(V2) Fire Control Radar (FCR), which would allow for Track-While-Scan (TWS) mode with up to 10 targets at once. It would also include the Hazeltine APX-113 Advanced Identification Friend-or-Foe (AIFF) system, which would allow up to a 100nm range on datalink. M6.1 Tape (This is what I hope to be included) Improved IFF system (Mode 5 waveform with better distinction between friendly and enemy aircraft) Introduction of the AIM-120D missile (two-way datalink, improved navigation, and high-angle off-boresight capabilities, with double the range) Addition of more advanced air-to-ground weapons (GBU-39 SDB, GBU-54 LJDAM) Integration of improved Link-16 functions with net-centric capability Implementation of a new Universal Armament Interface to standardize communication between the aircraft and weapons, eliminating the need for new OPF tapes with every new weapon system One other noticeable feature in the AM package is the inclusion of the Terma ALQ-213 product family, which combines a new countermeasure panel with the capability of housing a jammer inside the ECIPS/CJS pylon. Additionally, the PIDS+ pylon has the capability of carrying flares. A weapons list it would include: Short range A2A Aim9L/M/X IRIST Long range A2A Aim120B/C possible D A2G Weapons GBU-12/10/24 GBU-38/39/31/32 LJDAM 49/54 Im gonna stop my rant here but pls ED or Heatblur this would be a dream come true for alot of people esecially now that cold war germany is comming to the game. have a good day : )

Hello dear Community I use the Querst 2 VR with i am happy with it. Now the problem is that i need to switch/use the Mouse often witch is very uncomfortable . Is there any to bind a much Buttons to VoiceAttack so i don't get distracted while flying. Simple stuff like Landing Gear down/Up is easy but it there a possibility to bind a Button on the Hotas (Warthog) for making Left and Right clicks? Does anyone uses Voiceattack to make life easier for VR players? Track IR is NOT an Option for me as i don't want to spend more money as i return after 5 yrs to DCS and first i wanna test if i get back into DCS. Would be a shame to spend money and after some time i loose interests in DCS. Don't get me wrong in love flying the F16 I just wanna know how you guys (and woman) solve this problem? I started to bind some functions but now i need (if possible) to bind left and right click. After that i try to bind the OSB Buttons. Thank you for you help

When I flick the autopilot switch into Alt hold the plane will keep claiming or descending and ATT hold will also not hold an attitude of the jet. The heading and steering on the roll switch do work though. I have ruled out my HOTAS by testing with it unplugged. I have also tested my paddle switch. It works normally when I have the roll set to heading and steerpoint and deactivates fine when depressed and when released the plane goes back to the heading. When I just use Alt and Att hold the paddle has no effect due to the main issue. Fuel door is closed, gear is up, and trim autopilot disconnect is set to norm. The issue happens on hot and cold start so nothing with the alignment is causing it. The switch is also staying in position so the jet isn't turning it off either. Anyone got other ideas?

If this has already been reported please ignore the following rant. Firstly I love the F16 and the work undertaken by ED. I have enjoyed countless hours in the Viper and fly it almost exclusively. However, since the last couple of updates the radar and DL do not function correctly. For example no targets visible at all on the radar or the target I am fighting disappears for prolonged periods even over the sea ( ie terrain is not the issue). Data Link is also indicating the target is in one direction when in effect it is in a totally different direction. The highlighted DL target (octagon) jumping about all over the place. Additionally even when a target is in visual range the 9X either cannot get a lock or provide a tone. I know I am not alone with these issues as friends who also fly the Viper are experiencing the same sorts of problems. Any F16 drivers also experiencing these issues, can I please ask you to like this post so the breadth and depth of this problem can be indicated to ED. Given I have thousands of hours in the Viper with many thousands of kills it is NOT an operator error, I know the basics. I am delighted to provide a track file but it is likely to be a very large file as I fly in VR on busy MP servers. Please advise how to attach large track files. Without wishing to be rude I am seeking a response beyond “Correct as is” as the levels of frustration and exacerbation are off the scale. Many thanks in anticipation.

Anyone noticed anything different with HARM behavior within the last couple updates? I'm seeing a lot more misses lately, and it seems like unless there are actively missiles in the air, the HARM won't track the emitter and it definitely wasn't like that before. This behavior persists regardless whether the weapon is employed via HTS pod, HAS display or PB to a steerpoint. I've tried it on SA2s, 11s, 15s and 10s (maybe a couple others) and it's the same for all of them. Missile is defeated, HARM sails over the target. HARM evasion is not switched on. These are as 'dumb' as SAM sites can get. In the past, you could stay well outside of range and lob HARMs at them and get consistent hits, now I'm seeing hit rates of 50% at best. I've been flying the Viper and making missions for 2.5 years and things definitely seem different within the last couple weeks. My squadron-mates are all seeing the same thing, in both the Hornet and the Viper. Anyone else notice this? I'm not necessarily complaining either. This change makes Weaseling a really fun challenge, but if it was a change I didn't see it in any of the patch notes, unless I just missed it, which is absolutely a possibility.

Is there a plan to animate the buttons etc on the throttle and stick? Coming from the F-4 it feels a bit weird that nothing moves on them. I was hoping that this latest update would have them, so I was a bit disappointed.

WEW Lads are looking for new members!!! Aircrafts: F/A-18, F14 Pilot/RIO, F15c, F15e Pilot/WSO, and F16 Requirements: Mic, 18+ (we can work 16+, but we will interview you), Be able to purchase maps like Syria/Nevada/Persian Gulf, If you fly F18 or F14 you must have Super Carrier, Be able to show up to missions We Are a NA based Squadron and our op times are at 9pm EST on Wednesdays. We also host Arma ops that correlate to the DCS ops every Thursday at 9pm EST. We do like to have fun and also randomly hold game nights. We understand that life is a priority and don't expect you to give up your life when joining our squad. We don't make our members remember manuals or watch slides as we are all adults and have other things to take care of. If you do wish to join the group keep please the time zone in mind as well as the following rules. Take Missions seriously and don't purposely throw the mission. While we are not a full blown realism unit, we would still qualify us as MilSim. Our playstyle is set up for people who want to fly a realistic campaign in DCS without joining a full blown realism unit. You will be expected to talk on the radio relatively correctly and to take the scenarios seriously. We will not have a rank structure nor a chain of command. Mods are simply around to moderate, not to boss you around. Before joining the Campaign please pick an aircraft you are willing to fully commit to. This should be an aircraft that you are either willing to learn or are already proficient in. This aircraft should also be something that you are willing to fly for the main campaigns in the group. Due to the nature of DCS we would prefer people to stick to an aircraft. That being said, there will be opportunities in fun events/side missions for people to fly other aircraft, as well as different campaigns that may require different aircraft. You will not be allowed to fly in the campaign unless you picked an aircraft ahead of time. Before playing the campaign with us you must complete a check flight. This is not a daunting task and we don't want to fail you. We just want to know that you are confident enough in your airframe to fly in a mission. We require an attendance rate of 2 Ops per month. If you do not meet this rate you will be removed from the group. There are obvious exceptions to this such as family issues or even exams for schools. We are not expecting you to sacrifice your real life for this group, but you joined the group to play, so play. People who have just joined and have not passed their check flight have 1 week to at least attempt a check flight (if no one can do your check flight in that week for some reason an exception will be made) if you do not pass this check flight, the week resets. Once again, we are not expecting you to sacrifice your real life for this group, but you joined to play. *********************************Edit******************************************** Wew Lads has started a new campaign, and its not too late to join!! There has been a bunch of changes to our schedule and we are adding more op days other than Wednesdays. All ops will still occur at 9pm EST. We are in deep need of F-15 pilots, but all airframes are welcomed! As mentioned in the days below, there will be mods but the baseline of the mods are F16, F14, F15E, F15C, FA18 Mondays - Historical Missions or other side missions (focus will be on missions outside of whatever era we are currently playing in) Currently our focus is on the 80s, recreating missions from the falklands, Iran Iraq war, and the 1982 Lebanon war. This will include airframes like theF- and Harrier **Wednesdays** - Regular Modern Ops with modded aircrafts like the f22, f15ex, CJS F18 Super Hornet and even mod weapons for the F-14 to have aim174s and aim120s. These ops will be ran a little different though, as all the airframes will be running their own missions in a air space with the rest of the other airframes. Thursdays- Arma ops that will coincide with Wednesday ops. Saturdays - Exactly the same as Wednesdays, except they will take place at night. Other Side Campaigns - Random ops like Inherent Resolve missions that will be hosted on days voted by the members attending. Hi, I just received my winwing super taurus and super libra, and I found that if I use the radar elevation wheel on the throttle for the f16 it always recenters when I stop giving input with the wheel, is there any way to make it work without recentering? Thanks
-
Hi. On the mission night life the ins alignment is interrupted by other jets taking of on the runway while the viper is parked on the parking lot. The jet is actually moved a little as well. This seems excessive. I have experienced this on other missions in multi-player as well. According to other players the wheel chucks don't help preventing this, but I haven't tested it.

For realism and immersion, it would be nice to have the remaining unclickable switches (i.e. AVTR Selector, Video Recorder Switch, Nuclear Consent and Harness Lock Lever) animated and completed with sounds. It would also be coherent with the choice of animating other non-functional switches (e.g. AB MAX, TFR ADV etc.) in the Viper, plus their equivalent is already animated in the Hornet despite being purely cosmetic and not needed for aircraft operation. The ECM control switches are clearly not included in this list as they will be implemented alongside jammer pods.

Hi all! After updating to the latest version, the default " \ " key for the communications menu doesn't work. When I tried reseting it back to the default, still doesn't work and only when I change it to any other button, seems to work. I also uninstalled the entire module and installed it again and still isn't working! The same bug also applies for the communications menu on the F-5 E (trial mode) dcs.log

Hello everyone! The tilte says it all! Are there any plans from the administration to create a fully working F-16 BLK 52 bundle ??? Thank you very much!

All of the F-16 skins have somehow disappeared from my DCS Beta. ...except for three custom skins which I downloaded from User Files. Is there any way I can just get back the default skins that come with the F-16. I'm not even sure what skins were included in the original when I bought the F-16.

Hi i've encountered a bug where the AOA system does not constantly 0 degrees with weight on nose landing gear. Currently it just displays the current AOA as if it was flying. I believe this behaviour to be incorrect. This applies to HUD AOA,indicator, and indexer lights. Reference: TO GR1F-16CJ-1/Section 1/AOA System. and Section 1/Landing Gear Weight-on-Wheels (WOW) Switches I've attached a Trackfile to demonstrate the bug. Maybe a bug, maybe simply not yet implemented because WIP, nevertheless, it's not correct currently. Cookie Edit: Added References AOA.trk

Hello, Will the F-16 be getting the ability to Home on a Jamming target similar to the F15'sability to lock onto a Jamming Source with the 120 and fire on the jamming target?

Hello Ed, due to the changes to cockpit script files during the last patch, my RWR export now breaks integrity check. I have a home cockpit and I need to export my RWR to use the F16. How do I do it now? I used to have this line in my RWR_ALR56_init.lua dofile(LockOn_Options.common_script_path.."ViewportHandling.lua") try_find_assigned_viewport("F16_RWR") and then in my monitor config F16_RWR = { x = 3760; y = 1440; width = 480; height = 480; } How do I export the RWR after this patch, without breaking integrity check?

Hello, I've posted on this topic before didn't have the time to test it but now I've. Last time I wrote this (Under that I would put the test results and other people experience with this issue.) : " I would add later this day a video of this. The basic idea is: - 80% of the time the missile won't show on RWR and you would just die. - The time it does show on RWR it usually shows about 0.5 seconds before impact and very rarely it will show 3-4 second before impact. - Also a F-14 will not show on the RWR when it locks you for most of the time, it will maybe blip in RWR twice or a bit more but that's it. (Tests have been done on the Viper [F-16] but a Hornet [F-18] player that I fly with also confirmed that the Phoenix doesn't show on RWR). *I would try to add a video of this happening when I'm home, around 6-4 hours from when this is posted* " On this post I got the response of IronMIKE, he said this; " Thank you. If this is happening on the RWR of another module, it is likely an oversight on their side and would have to be addressed with them, please. " Before posting my first topic about the issue I've contacted NineLine on the ED Discord he responded by telling me this: " You may need to report this to HB " Because of that I'm trying to figure out to who should I reach out about this problem. My first test were in a Viper [F-16] and in the F-15, did it on single player when the A.I got these following settings, Enemy fighter- Ace, 1 AIM-54C-MK47, at 35,000 feet with speeds of mach 1.0 . In that test the Viper didn't got the results that I looked for it immediately started warning of a incoming missile the moment the A.I launched, but the F-15 did got the result that I looked for. In this track file you can see the F-15 not getting any warning of a incoming missile: F-15 AIM-54 test bug prood.trk I had a track file of that happening to me but I don't remember which day it was and each track file is at least 2 hours. Also I asked around to see if some players also experienced the same thing, I got some of my buddies to confirm that this has happened to them after the latest update but like me they have lots of file that each one is at least 1 hour long, I've also asked around in the ED's discord, a user named FzK#4325 told me the same thing, he flies the F-14 and he didn't have a track file for me but he did have a Tacview recording. he said the it had happened to him 3 times in the mission he flew, it may seem like he was defending but he said the he is cranking right after he shots everytime, by the Tacview we can see the he engages a bandit then he foxes and start cranking, not getting any RWR warning and then he just dies. Is own word (can be found is ED's discord): Das Feuer — Today at 4:54 AM is anyone experiencing AIM-54 not showing on RWR or showing just half a second before impact FzK — Today at 5:02 AM I am [5:02 AM] Got killed [5:02 AM] By phoenixes FzK — Today at 5:02 AM With no warning [5:02 AM] 3 times no warning just death [5:03 AM] It annoyed me so much Das Feuer — Today at 5:03 AM Can you just confirm that you weren't in the blind area of RWR and not got killed by a IR missile please FzK — Today at 5:03 AM I watched the tacview [5:03 AM] And he was dead ahead of me [5:03 AM] Phoenix to the face Das Feuer — Today at 5:03 AM and can you please tell me which airframe were you using? Das Feuer — Today at 5:04 AM I would like if can send it to me FzK — Today at 5:05 AM At first I was shocked like what killed me hehe [5:05 AM] Silent phoenixes [5:05 AM] That’s dangerous(edited) @FzK Another F14 Das Feuer — Today at 5:05 AM Copy if you can send me the Tacview file it would mean a lot FzK — Today at 5:05 AM It is a tacview from PGAW Would U mind If i clip it?(edited) [5:05 AM] Via video FzK — Today at 5:05 AM Because it is 3hours long Das Feuer — Today at 5:05 AM it's better to send me the whole file @Das Feuer it's better to send me the whole file FzK — Today at 5:06 AM I’ll do that and give ya a time stamp then Das Feuer — Today at 5:06 AM copy thanks FzK — Today at 5:07 AM So give me about 20minutes [5:07 AM] And I’ll send it in your dm’s Das Feuer — Today at 5:07 AM yup no problem thank you By this we can learn that he is probably telling the truth. Here we can see the Tacview: (wasn't able to add the Tacview you are welcome to DM me in discord I will send it to you.) look for him (SHARK 1-3|FzK) at 30:55. Hope someone can give me a answer to this, if help is needed I've no problem helping out. My discord is the same as username here look for me in ED's discord.

Hello my buddies, I would love to see the MARK button (NUMPAD 7) going out of (under development) in the F16 cockpit. What will it do? It will intantanious set a waypoind (high numbers in waypoint list) to your actual position. That would normally allow you to mark the exact position like your starting airport on some servers and f.e. your buddy got shot down or to mark an unmarked SAM or AAA position You can always send the coordinates to your buddies without F10 card during flying. Safes you some fingerwork when flying into enemy terretory I am honest, I dont know how complex it is to implement. But if it is not too hard to do please do it. Its a small feature which has a great outcome on all servers with more realistic circumstances like BF or 104th. BR, MoccaLG

According to manuals, the AN/APG-68v5 should include a radar sub-mode called Long Range Search (LRS) which offers the same symbology and functions as RWS but it should be optimized for long range target detection. If confirmed to be applicable to the modeled Viper, it would furtherly deepen the simulation of the F-16's radar.
