It has been said several times now, so continuing to press the matter and calling stuff we do "junk" isn't necessary at all. Please be kind to each other and please remain courteous in your feedback. I will also repeat one last time, that whether you like it or not, does not define how Tomcats were in fact. Us giving an option, is a courtesy to you. Forge was announced at the pre-orders already, so this argument that you paid for a clean aircraft, sorry, is moot. You paid for the most accurate representation of a Tomcat, which includes that "junk", and on top of that you will get an option to manage it on your own, which is beyond what we initially promised.11 points

Hello dear friends. We are still doing the latest testing and improvements to the Sinai map for early access. I think that these will be the last screenshots before early access, it is impossible to convey in screenshots huge amount of work done. This is what i've read as well. As for preliminary flight model testing......i'm impressed! Still getting used to the new stick, so took me a bit longer then what i would have wanted, but here it is. And what can i say, HB outdid themselves. The only significant difference i found between the charts and the current F-14A FM is the region at the mach 1 number, or 675 knots to be exact. It might be a DCS thing, or it might be charts flaw, but at this point instead of the 5g expected available, i could only do 3.4-3.5. Aside from that...... it's extremely close! It's either inside 0.1 g of expected, or inside 10 knots of expected, which is IMPRESSIVE to say the least. Not to mention that the charts may not be all that precise to begin with. Needless to say, i'm looking forward to the B adjustments as well. Configuration, 4 Sidewinders, 4 Sparrows, no tanks, 53873lbs gross weight. Fuel burn disabled to maintain constant parameters. This of course also needs crosschecking with linear accelerations, but i hope someone else can do it! Also, other altitudes like 5000ft, 10000ft, 25000ft and especially 35000ft need to be checked. And of course, other loads, like 2x2x2 and 2x2x2x2, which i'm especially interested about! Enjoy:5 points

Hi friends, i just made a little mod that allows user to use some additional missiles on your mirage. It's in JSGME format. It uses stock MICA missles and aditional from Su-30MK mod (Kinda indian mirage). Long story short, you can use it if you're intersted. There are several things at play here. Firstly, you found an error. I made a mistake with the Pantsir's radar emission configurations, the RWR should already be able to pick it up. So that will be fixed soon. I've also added all my assets to the RWR database, so that they don't show up as "U" for Unknown. But I will ask Nightstorm to add them to his file since he already keeps a lot of mods updated in his RWR database. When it comes to the HARM I have to learn more about how that works before I can fix anything.4 points

Thanks! I've updated the Iranian FAC asset. The Igla MANPADS range wasn't correct. It'll work as intended now. But still, don't forget its range is pretty short. Max altitude is 11500 ft and max range is 2.8 nm. It's also very susceptible to flares.3 points

And in the Programming side of things Build 05 is totally standalone and will feature its own set of radars simulations this includes. Air to air air to ground weather I started working in designing the radar which will be displayed in the HUD and also in the MFD, a day ago i did some quick tests to get a template runnning and to see if it was possible to have the radar display in the hud like the real thing and yes its possible, below are some testing shots i am doing, i have to program its design and behavior and symbology so stay tuned, we also now have the ability to fire guided air to ground weapons, all this is possible without SDK or any ddL from ED which is a good thing, The su-57 is totally standalone and custome including EFM and thrust vectoring and now its own radar, we also have our own unique HUD and HMD for the SU-57 all WIP and being developed. i added: Radar DEvices Radar electrical systems Radar folder. clickable for radar interaction. HMD Sample HMD and RADAR Templates WIP. And now Air to ground Targeting as well.3 points

Mach 0.8 at 39000 feet is about 250 kias. Do you recall the old saw from some F-14A pilot to this effect: "in mil power above 25k feet and below 250 kias, all the TF30 does is turn JP-5 into noise"?3 points

Но я думаю. независимо от навыка, те же стрелки одинокой зу-23, в реале не могут первый же сноп снарядов положить в летящий на них вертолёт, но обычно летая на вертолёте я уже заранее знаю, что если не отвернуть, этот сноп прилетит точно в лоб, ну не нужна им пристрелка, они без промаха бьют3 points

That was a pain in the butt. Those pesky 21s...One realy has to hold on the head on shot. I did the mission a couple of times (first was actually the best, but I ran out of fuel because it took me some time to tangle these MIGs) and they never hit. I was a little confused what has to be happening after the Report of the SA-5 being up and Paco doing some "fancy flying" in the hold, so I deceidet to go for myself. Looks like the Triggers fired anyway, because he fell into trail and the rest of the mission came together as intended, I believe. Again I was very short on fuel, so I really would have appreciated a recovery tanker. 1 - 2000 lbs would have been enough to make it back save and sound, but since I did not had that luxury, I had to be inventive to bring the plane back. Maybe think of adding an tanker. One note: I skipped the first part of the mission. I cheatet a little and used time acceleration to get into the hold without spending half an hour, since I was running out of time. Cudos to Reflected, all the triggers worked.2 points

Hey everyone! definitely not a priority, but by looking at the example of the MB339, I found it quite interesting how the module enables users to customize their pilot’s helmet and mask through the option menu. Drawing on the Mirage module, it would also be great to see a key added to turn up and down the sun visor. Perhaps all this can come in the anticipated changes to the pilot model!2 points

Puh, i don´t wanted another desert map but it looks really good. Also it´s a good aera for intresting scenarios. Most of them happened in the past and the map is supposed to show the present, but it's still interesting. I'm already looking forward to the first sightseeing flights. The interaction with the community, which I've followed here, especially with regard to the SAM sites, is great too.2 points

Mig-21PFM is the way to go, it is THE Mig-21, perfect from vietnam even to desert storm, if I remember correctly it was the main variant used during every conflict involving Israel vs Egypt, or maybe it was the earlier PF bit still, pretty similar2 points

Предложение: добавить танкеру произвольную реплику при запросе на дозаправку от несовместимого модуля (например штанга-штанга). Можно без озвучки, просто текстом - "Wrong type" или типа того. Сейчас танкер предпочитает отмалчиваться - и сиди гадай: проблема с радио, танкером, триггером или еще с чем-то. The Training mission states to go STT but your track shows you staying in RWS/SAM. You must be in STT and within 30 degrees off the nose or tail of the aircraft and be within around 24 to 24 nm.2 points

If you are reporting a bug, the least you could do is include enough detail to reproduce it .. as it is we don't know which aircraft you are using, which weight, what is the wind and speed of the carrier, etc ... at the very minimum you should include a track file of your launch. On my DCS I can launch from SC just fine.2 points

Здравствуйте. У меня вопрос касаемо оживления сима. Возможно ли сделать такой скрипт или типа того, с 20-ю разными вариациями оживления сцен в оффлайне? Я к тому, что когда ты грузишься полетать в оффлайн, мир мёртвый, там только ты и то, что ты поставил на карте - всё. Почему нельзя сделать галочку, после выставления которой на карте появляется траффик различный, ездят АПА по аэродромам, летают какие-то борта по заданиям своим там или просто перелёты выполняют куда-то, чтобы мир был живой скажем так. Кому не нужно - галочку не поставили и расставили своё, кому надо поставили и после галочки рандомно включается 1 из 20 вариаций сценариев полёта траффика, хотят к имеющемуся что-то добавить - добавили. Такое вообще возможно сделать? Получается, что карта мёртвая всегда, если не поставишь что-то сам. А было бы здорово иметь такие скажем так пресеты оживления карты траффиком, чтобы полетать в одиночке. Можно было бы даже к имеющимся сценариям что-то своё добавить и не обязательно, чтобы все эти сценарии были боевые. Иногда просто не хватает оживлённости траффиком, для картинки того, что сим живой.2 points

Please note : from DCS 2.9.8.1107 both bin and mt-bin folders contain Multithreading. Single threaded DCS is now legacy and removed from DCS. DCS Multithreading F.A.Q Users who want to test the new multithreading version of DCS can do so by following the steps described below. Multithreading contains some known issues, but we will gladly receive reports. Please make reports as full and clear as possible that are reproducible. Also, please send crash information using the automatic send-crash tool, if possible. Launching Multithreading DCS For the standalone version from our eShop DCS: You can find the new folder "bin-mt" in your DCS / DCS Open Beta main root folder where you have installed DCS. i.e. "D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\". To launch the multithreading version, navigate to the "bin-mt" folder and launch DCS.exe from it. i.e. "D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin-mt\DCS.exe". For your convenience, you may want to create a shortcut for "D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin-mt\DCS.exe" on your desktop. Be advised that the DCS launch shortcut that is automatically created on your desktop after DCS installation will launch the DCS updater from i.e. "D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe". You may have gotten used to the process where you launch DCS and it checks for available updates before launching the game. If you make a shortcut for the multithreading version (i.e. "D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin-mt\DCS.exe") then this shortcut will launch DCS, and it will not check for updates before launching the game. For STEAM users: Use the Play MT Preview in launch options. To do so, right click on DCS World Steam Edition in Steam and select PLAY; you should see the below pop-up. What is multithreading (MT)? MT is a programming technique that allows multiple threads to exist within the context of a single process. A thread is an independent path of execution within a program, and MT allows a program to perform multiple tasks concurrently, improving its performance and responsiveness. However, MT also introduces some complexities, such as thread synchronization and resource sharing, which must be carefully managed to avoid issues such as race conditions and deadlocks. Why am I seeing no to little performance gain? There are several reasons that could account for this. One of the most common reasons for lower-than-expected performance gains is being GPU limited. Whereas MT can greatly improve CPU efficiency and resulting performance, most of the graphical rendering elements are still reliant on the graphics card. To check this, play a mission and press Right Control + Pause at the same time to display your performance Frame Per Second (FPS) and rendering information. If it indicated GPU BOUND, your graphics card is holding back the maximum possible frame rate that the CPU can provide. MT is most effective in large missions with many units. In small missions with a limited number of units, CPU calculations are not a gating performance limit. As such, you may not see much of an MT performance gain in small missions. Older CPUs will not benefit as much from MT as more modern CPUs with a greater number of cores/threads. Please be sure that you are using the current Open Beta and that you are using the DCS.exe from the Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin-mt\ folder if using the standalone version. Controls HOG PLUG is enabled. Please ensure that that HOT PLUG is disabled from OPTION / CONTROLS tab. You may not have appropriate BIOS setting for your CPU. If you have 32 or less cores, please ensure that HT/SMT is enabled. If you 33 or more cores, please disable this. If you have Vsync enabled in OPTIONS/SYSTM, uncheck the box Are there any known issues that I should be aware of? As an initial test version, yes. NS430 inoperable. Not in 2D neither 3D Sporadic stuttering in 2D and VR Ka-50: IT-23 display is colored. As MT is a complex addition to DCS, we have made it optional for initial public testing. Once fully tested and working well, it will be enabled by default. How long will MT be in preview? It depends on public test results and feedback; we will keep you all informed as things develop. What is the maximum number of threads the game can utilize? About half of P-cores are dedicated for the graphics needs. Currently the rendering pool scales up to 16 threads on P-cores (1 core = 2 threads). The other P-cores are used by the main logic thread, sound engine threads, and the auxiliary thread pool that occupy all available space. E-cores are used only by the resources streaming pool that has no limits (1 core = 1 thread). Will VR and flatscreen have an equal performance improvement? MT is agnostic between a 2D monitor and VR. Both will see the same proportion of improvement. Note that VR is in general more demanding so you will see lower FPS than flatscreen performance given the higher rendering overhead. Will performance be improved for people currently bottlenecked by their GPU? MT may not help with performance if you have a GPU bottleneck. This is because the GPU is responsible for rendering and processing graphics, and it operates independently of the CPU. So MT may not directly improve GPU performance, but it can help to improve overall application performance by offloading non-GPU related tasks to separate CPU threads. Are there any downsides to MT if I have a CPU with few cores (Like an old quad core)? While MT can improve performance on a CPU with multiple cores, it may not provide significant benefits on a CPU with few cores. In fact, it could even lead to decreased performance in some cases. Will the dedicated server also be multithreading? Currently, the dedicated server is ST. MT dedicated server should behave exactly like ST one including performance because the game logic is still running on a single thread. If you have issues with performance or anything else, please make detailed reports for us to review. Will I be able to play on MT servers/large missions that I couldn't before? You should see improvement in larger missions, but mission designers should still consider unit count in any mission they create. Overloading a multiplayer mission with units will result in loss of performance. Will MT and Single Thread (ST) be updated separately or updated at the same time? You can update DCS in the usual way. Can MT and ST clients join the same server? Yes, MT and ST users can play on the same server. Should I enable HT / SMT in my motherboard BIOS? Currently, users with more than 32 threads should disable HT/SMT, but for everyone else we recommend enabling HT/SMT. Can I expect more bugs with MT, and can they be reported the same way or do I need to do separate reports for MT and ST? MT is a very complex addition to DCS, we have done a lot of testing but you may see issues we have missed. If you do, please report them on the forum bugs section. When reporting issues, please make it clear that you are using multithreading by either by adding “MT” to the title or in the topic itself. I have not seen any improvement what can I do? If you are not seeing any improvement in performance, please make a forum post with your dcs.log dxdiag and a track replay example in the performance issues forum section. How can I launch VR in MT? Same way you do now but using the bin-mt/ dcs.exe with the added launch parameters. ( example "C:\DCS\bin-mt\DCS.exe" --force_enable_VR ) Steam users will have a MT VR option in the launch pop up. Or try starting in 2D and enabling VR in the DCS VR tab, then restarting DCS. Experiencing a crash on first launch of MT DCS? If anyone has an early crash when starting MT DCS and sees almost empty dcs.log file with/without the stack, it would be great to get additional CPU information from such user. 1. add mt.lua to Saved Games\DCS\Config\ mt.lua 2. launch DCS 3. provide Saved Games\DCS\Logs\dcs.log attached to forum post 4. remove mt.lua2 points
