  1. Hi all, Wanted to share with you 3D printing of the mirage F1 throttle I design and built. all STL files can be purchase and built your own: https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/hobby-diy/other/mirage-f1-throttle-assembly-for-simulation every detail works like the real throttle and its including the detents, lever and switches. 3. Hello there, as YoYo has already stated, I had to rethink the whole concept and colour pallete of the mod. Being unable to edit the clipmaps (the most distant textures) forced me to take a more balanced approach and here's what I came up with: I was also counting for a more diversified version - that was the initial idea but further tests showed it was a dead end without the developer tools. I will soon publish this version so that you guys can test it out yourselves but it won't be the final one. Best, Barthek

  4. I have hidden everything after the solution, one because the solution means the issue was solved for the OP and no need to continue and two because it was starting to turn into childish bickering. If you have an issue of your own, please make a new threading with tracks and supporting evidence. And please be mature and constructive about it. I understand everyone is passionate about this hobby, so we should not be insulting each other. Thanks.

  5. I am going to echo what some others have said. I think it is time that DCS recognize Currenthill for all his work and if Currenthill is agreeable, offer some kind of partnership, etc. to have him build the assets. His work seems to be very good and it makes DCS in to a much better platform in my opinion.

  9. Yep, that's it. DCS 2.5 used the previous official Caucasus textures (last seen in 2.56) and, although those were generally problematic (colors and brightness wise), not all was bad on them. Particularly the current airport ground textures, seen since DCS 2.7 and in latest 2.8, weren't (IMO) really an improvement over the old ones, unfortunately. So, I brought back those much older airport ground textures from 2.56 and modified them, to fit the new CGTC textures. Maybe pictures speak better than words, I hope this makes sense. List goes and it varies for other airports but, for example, here's Batumi airport: CGTC (WIP) - Spring CGTC (WIP) - Summer CGTC (WIP) - Autumn CGTC (WIP) - Winter Real life (summer?)

  11. Hi, I’ve searched long for Approach, Arrivals or Departure-Charts for Ramat David but didn’t find anything which was complete. So I created my own Charts. They are 100% fictional. I have no official information’s or insight in this airports procedures. Therefore it should be clear, that the charts are for sim use only. All headings are magnetic north with 5° variation. According to this the effective date is the first Jan 2020 in DCS. As template I used the style of jeppesen charts to create my own. It is a large effort to create and check all headings, obstacles, altitudes etc, so I don’t pretend they are 100% accurate. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3330785/ In the pack is included: High resolution charts · STAR o 10-2A Ramat David STAR BARZI o 10-2B Ramat David STAR GALIM o 10-2C Ramat David STAR MOCEV · SID o 10-3A Ramat David SID BARZI o 10-3B Ramat David SID GALIM o 10-3C Ramat David SID MOCEV · Ground Chart o 10-9 Ramat David Ground · Approach o 11-1 Ramat David APCH RWY33 o 13-1 Ramat David APCH RWY15 o 13-2 Ramat David APCH RWY09 o 13-3 Ramat David APCH RWY27 o 19-1 Ramat David APCH RWY29 o 19-2 Ramat David APCH RWY11 Downscaled Charts for DCS KNEEBOARD Day Downscaled Charts for DCS KNEEBOARD Night

  12. A lot of Syria heli platforms haven't had correct collision models since release (this probably being one of them). Unfortunately, Syria map hasn't been touched/fixed by Ugra for a very VERY long time. Considering the complete lack of any form of response to user feedback and bug reports by Ugra and/or ED (ahum... kneeboard...), I suppose by now the Syria map can be considered abandoned. Luckily most of the map is very nice. Just a pity, as it could have been brilliant.

  13. It's comforting to see that so many DCS users have problems with "the dot system" and spotting, as shown by the many comments and the likes of posts adressing ED for this problem. I hope this thread raises attention among the devs to finally come up with a good solution after all these years...

  14. Well, at least I have one. It goes like this: the point is to simulate the plane as it's flown in reality, and to get as close to real experience as possible. Therefore, features that improve that experience and introduce realistic consequences for exceeding limits are good. Fun, laughs and yes, even respawns are part of training scenarios IRL. Red Flag has "regenerations" both IRL and in DCS campaigns based on it. Literally every single thing you mentioned except people actually dying is part of the experience in any big training exercise (and pilots do imagine shooting their opponents and them blowing up, just listen to any song that mentions training exercises). Now, this is a bit more serious than your average DCS server when the mission is in progress, but I guarantee you that once they get to the O-club after the mission, the pilots are having a lot of laughs about various things that went on during the sortie. Realism is not the opposite of fun, quite the contrary, many people enjoy the challenge of learning and following realistic procedures and limitations. If you're unable to win fights in the Hornet without using the paddle, all right, but don't complain when people who can look down on you, because they're the ones with more skill. You're free to fly in your own way, of course, but the moment you step into multiplayer, be prepared to have people tell you how to play the game, because you're no longer the only person in it. You want airquake, go to an airquake server, you can find them easily enough, but even there, if you fly against humans, you're going to agree to some rules. Sure, against AI you can do whatever, but also keep in mind that ED devs are in the "as realistic as possible" camp and are not going out of their way to accommodate other play styles. If you can find someone with whom you can do a "fun matchup with no rules" on a private server, fine, but don't come here complaining that you bump up against realistic limitations that limit your "fun" when you take the plane outside of what it was meant to do.

  15. Hello everyone, Of course, I bought the Normandy 2 map and I find it magnificent! I also notice that the English and French airfields are not all correctly made. On a map like Syria or Persian gulf for example, i.e. a map nowadays it is easy to represent the runways and taxiways of each airfield, it is true on old maps it is not always easy to find plans or photos, but I think I have provided a lot of them so that these aerodromes are made as historically as possible! It's really a shame and I urge the developers to correct this flaw! First let's see "Conches-en Ouches" airfield: The layout of the runways and taxiways is downright wrong! This is a southern part of the Evreux Fauville aerodrome!! This is what Conches should look like: Attention ! Runways, taxiways and aircraft parking areas were made of concrete slabs. It should also be noted that there were no trees or bushes between the runways and the taxiways as you did in Saint-Andre-De-l'Eure. It's wrong ! I also noticed that on most runways there are white lines in the middle, there weren't any on all these airfields at that time.

  17. We get a reply yet nothing about your going to fix this dam problem . . FIX THE PROBLEM . Maybe we should boycott you like Bud-light . lol ..... Maybe your start fixing things . Ten pages about the spotting issues in DCS . Wow . !!!! Another combat flight simulator had the same problem only few years back . Same old people complaining about the spotting issues . Nothing was getting done . One Sunday afternoon an event that takes place every three months were the server is full to its max 80 players full real settings best of the best online campaign . WAS Empty . or very little players . When asked what's happened why so little players the answer was WE cant see targets they disappear . Within Three months and a POLL asking is there a problem with spotting and a 90% YES came back . It was fixed . We the DCS community have spent $100s if not $1000s of dollars on this product . It deserves looking into and fixing .

  20. The F-14 has a G indicator, If you look to DCS videos of the F-14 on youtube you can see most of them went 10+G. Also some people can't dogfight in the F-18 without the paddle switch and make the F-18 an F-16 going beyond 7.5G. The big problem is DCS is trying to be a simulator but its just a game, you just respawn and that's it, there's no drawback. In real life if an F-16 went 9G that plane needs to be examined for several hours. In DCS every plane is brand new. It should take into account how you fly and that should go to your profile so if you constantly over G the plane then sometime it should brake. This way people will start to care for the plane and learn to fly it as it was meant to.

  21. This thread is so full of so many untrue statements I am just going to have to stop it here. As I have said elsewhere the F8 variant is still planned, simple fact is these are not cookies cutter variants, they all take time and effort. Anyways, please do not make false and misleading statements like above, it's not helpful. Thanks.

  22. This modification freed up 1.4 gigabytes of video memory. 8.2 is used instead of 9.6. Why is optimization done by an ordinary user and not by the ED development team...? Respect to the author of the mod for his work!

  23. You wont be damaging your stores, but if enough G applied the wings rip off. But agreed. Over-G-ing and damaging stores is a severe thing IRL and should be implemented. But not only to the F16 but to all the other airframes too. The next big updates for me, that will bring the F16 closer to realism will be: (hopefully soon) implementig a pilot that is acutally qualified to fly a 9 G jet, and the DTC, data cartrige, that already can be used, more or less comfortable with a 3rd party external program. But having it in game will be much easier to use.

  24. Select the UN livery, maybe add a door gunner or remove the IR suppressors from the ground crew menu and do some sling loading. Looks cool from the outside and is fun from the inside. Thank you devs for implementing sling loading with the audio cues for the Hind.

  25. How about some thunder and lightnings? Pretty important part of the weather, some might say more than rainbows.

  26. It is less of a "how to implement an anti-jammer", but more of a "what exactly do the modes do IRL?". To what extend do they change the noise/gain ratios, what exact angles/distances do they filter out/emphasize, ... and some of them do not make too much sense in the context of DCS in the current state. For example, the enemies jammers do not have frequencies/bands modelled. Its merely a "is jamming" boolean flag. So the filter modes that would work on switching/filtering various frequencies and so on, can not really be implemented in a meaningful way. Just making one of the modes a magic anti-jammer might make sense from a game perspective, but not so much in terms of replicating and simulating the real Viggen. If someone has actual concrete ideas, backed by IRL documents (not just the base overview given in the SFI), we are happy to put it into the backlog

  27. Yes you are right, runways of Evreux are misdirected. I will talk about it in my next post. I would also like Ugra Media to make us airfields as faithfully as possible! I have already given a lot of information in this post. and I have quite a few others to provide on all the airfields on the map. In 1944, many airfields in France were simple fields without hard construction, without convenience, they were filled aerodromes after the landing of the allies. German's planes were parked at the edge of forests or under camouflage nets.

  29. Yeah still no answer from ED on that most important bug/missing feature... that should be quite high priority given the importance of pre flaring in close range.

  30. Nice strawman, now stop putting words in my mouth. I haven't, in a single place, said that ED should, say, disable the paddle. I said you should, realistically, suffer from broken/damaged things if you abuse it. G limits are there for a reason. Likewise, in the Viper, it should be possible to break your stores, such as bomb racks, by applying too much G. This has nothing to do with telling people how to play, but with making the simulation more detailed. If you don't like detailed simulation, go play War Thunder. FYI, "game mode" stuff is leftover from an earlier era and pretty much abandoned by ED. In most modules it doesn't work well, or at all. Easy communications work, but that's relatively minor. You definitely shouldn't expect them to leave out features because they make certain things harder, or make stuff like boresighting Mavericks optional. I don't care how you play, just don't come crying when your way of playing gets hampered by an update that introduces additional complexity.

  31. Campaigns for the A-10C II are included in the campaign packages for the A-10C. It's two campaigns in one package for all BFT, AFT and TTQ campaigns! They should show up in the A-10C II campaigns folder once installed. Good point about the website. We will get that updated.

  32. Important to note - these well known "youtubers" have to sign an NDA with Pimax that they can not reveal certain - well let's say aspects - of the current unit they are reviewing. It will be more interesting to see real world comments from real world users that actually buy this thing and plan on using it on a regular basis. In the meantime this is just Pimax doing business the same old Pimax way.

  40. Hey Guys! I have released USS Oak Hill LSD-51 ver 1.0.3. If the mod appears ok for you DCS. Then you don't have to download the latest update. Changes Made: --Removed the MASS Electronic Countermeasures from the mod's main Lua file which may cause the ship not to appear in DCS. --Removed extra textures in 3ds Max. Thanks for letting me know Eddie. I intended to remove it before release but forgot about it. Thanks again!

In real life spotting is dependent on light, weather (humidity and clouds) and distance. In DCS on...dots :(. For WW2 spotting is EVERYTING. Come on ED... Please.
