Hey! I've said this before in this thread, but I don't do roadmaps. The only reason I can keep the up the busy release schedule is by doing stuff I find fun and without the pressure of roadmaps and other external factors. I always have several projects going on in parallel and will switch around a lot. The order of release is completely up to my brain to decide at a given moment.13 points

we are already negotiating, doing the terms of reference, we even have the first shots where I was able to fly. But until the contract is signed, I cannot say what it will be. But I will say one thing: - this map has long been requested by the users - and this is definitely not a desert map (enough, we ate enough sand during development )10 points

The Israeli community have been given permission by the IAF to use declassified pages from the Approach and Departure Notes volume of the IAF bases. These are mostly the approach and departure charts. The airbase schematic charts remain classified so they are not allowed to be shared and therefore not included in this link, with an exception given by the IAF to share airport schematic charts of Ovda and Sde-Dov which have or used to have both military and civilian traffic so these two are allowed to be shared and included in the link. The following have been uploaded: Ovda, Sde-Dov. I have also included the ISRAEL AIP which is a very good civilian resource for all the enroute charts, navaids, details of major landmarks, and it has very detailed civilian schematics of Haifa, Eilat (the new one) and Ben Gurion airport. This doc is very good for checking all the small details of the civilian airports, especialy Ben-Gurion airport. I have uploaded to the following link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1l5l29BGmDb-hgvnv74WJsf_YZ7vN6ImP?usp=sharing Additionaly, the full Domestic AIP of Israel with more details and maps is available but it is mostly in Hebrew: https://www.gov.il/BlobFolder/guide/aip/he/aip_Full Pamat 1-23.pdf Cheers!6 points

The key for a successful takeoff is to put the cyclic in the correct position before you apply collective. When you bring up the controls overlay, the cyclic should be a cm or so down and to the left. Then apply collective gradually and when she starts to torque turn, apply right pedal accordingly. Be prepared for a rolling momentum when the first skid leaves the ground and carefully but quickly adjust cyclic (don‘t over control). It is matter of getting the right feeling for the new behavior but the key is the first step. She behaves like a real helicopter now, no arcade game anymore. Edit: curves are a very individual thing. But I find her way to twitchy without curves. You may consider reducing the Y-Saturation instead of applying to much of a curve for a more linear reaction. What a crap post. How about you put in the effort and try to learn how to fly it? Edit: The new FM is probably not perfect, but lightyears ahead of the old one. It is much closer now to all the other Helicopters in DCS. It has weight momentum and life. All of that was missing from the old one. unfortunately that means, that you can throw your muscle memory out of the window, when you only flew the gazelle. Edit2: This is what the controls should look like for a stable take off (*depends a bit on weight though)6 points

Casmo's claims that these are wrong behaviors are not accurate. The Apache experiences translating tendency to the right in real life as well, as it will also rotate in place on the ground if the tail wheel is unlocked and tail rotor thrust is applied in an unbalanced fashion. As was stated on the previous page, the tail rotor is producing positive thrust when the pedals are centered in the yaw axis, and must be applied slightly to the right in an offset manner to actually zeroize the tail rotor thrust. If left cyclic is properly applied to counter the right rolling motion and the right translating tendency from the high-mounted tail rotor, the aircraft will lift straight up. In a no winds situation and with a symmetric loadout, the AH-64 will always lift the right wheel off the ground before the left if the takeoff is performed properly. Just as is the case with any other maneuver or flight condition in a helicopter, if the forces that are being applied to the helicopter are out of balance, the aircraft will respond in an unbalanced manner. If translating tendency is not countered by the pilot, the aircraft will start to slide to the right as it gets very light on the wheels and continue drifting right after liftoff. Although this typically results in the main landing gear tires sort of skipping across the ground if the aircraft is light enough to lift up without inducing a dynamic rollover. EDIT: "Light on the wheels" is typically described as approximately 20% torque below IGE hover power. Once you start increasing power above this, you will be in a weird region where the aircraft is essentially flying, but has not fully cleared the landing gear from the ground due to the shock struts extending as the aircraft weight comes off the landing gear. This is the prime region for inducing dynamic rollover and should be avoided by continuing to increase power to IGE hover power or reducing the power to fully land and compress the landing struts. You do not want to "dance" around on the ground in this region in real-life nor in DCS.5 points

Thanks a lot! I am worried that there are negative reviews, I rested a bit and will solve these problems. But believe me, we did a lot in a small team in 1.5 years to get users to start flying. And now we have the next stage - to make a map as we originally intended! This is the first product for our team, and in 1.5 years it was necessary not only to do something on the map, but also to work out the work of the team for further development. I, as a leader, will say that this is a very good experience. Even communication with users helps a lot and I learned a lot of new things about dcs. Thanks for the support, thanks for the tips!5 points

Hello! I have published the MiG-21PFS Nile Valley livery: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3331333/5 points

There is nothing dirty about this. As my colleague quigon wrote above, no-one forced you to pre-order without any date indication. Also you guys keep hypothesizing (with wrong guessing or informations) too much without knowing things. I won't comment further for obvious reasons Also I don't recall either ED nor Razbam (officially) announcing any release date.. did you try it and so you know it is ready? I get that you want to play with the new toy... everyone here wants...but I don't think that the waiting will be forever4 points

Any chance we can get at least one Saudi, Libyan and Jordanian airfield to expand gameplay and better recreate other historical battles, such as the 1980's Libyan strikes/Gulf of Sidra incidents?3 points

With the Sinai map out and looking great, and the MiG-21 being a natural fit for Six Day War/October War re-enactments, I'd love to see RSBN beacons added, as was done with Syria.3 points

Thank you for publishing the Sinai map. The level of quality is great and I like the map a lot. Of course, this question is rhetorical, because we probably won't get a clear answer . But I suggest as another idea for next map: Vietnam or the Balkans.3 points

For an early release, it looks absolutely great, the scale of the map is huge and still, lots of attention to details.... and it's even smooth from desert to large Cairo city and in VR!!! Thank you so much for making this map!3 points

Been testing Sinai in the Apache last two days. Having somewhat equal or sometimes better performance on Sinai map in the Apache while playing in VR - in comparison to Syria. The RAM usage is nearly the same amount. In my personal view, the terrain hills / mountains look more refined and better than in Syria map. Coast lines look more detailed and have some water waves like the Marianas. The variation in trees and bushes is very good. The amount of buildings around Cairo is just insane and runs pretty solid - even in VR. But there are also downsides: a lot of terrain types look copy / pasted and more generic (maybe this changes in the early access). The small details (around houses, roads between houses connecting each other) especially in citys are missing - this still looks better in the Syria map. And there are alot of spots that are not finished yet or look unfinished (around Bethlehem for example) - the border walls / fences have sometimes weird routes and could look unfinished. In the north of the map are known Syria spots missing (special city buldings in Haifa for example, the airport Ramat David is missing completely yet). Back to the good things: The night operations are next level on this map. It seems that Sinai uses the newest lighting technology we know from Persian Gulf. The Amount of little lights in the night is insane and breathtaking. Syria at night looks shallow in comparison. I don't know if self shadows comes with external lights - need to test this. The Heli-landing pads (these are also marked on the map) have it's own self illuminating lighting that cast light onto the aircraft as a separate light source. So pretty good stuff - I really hope they can refine the map more and more with time - Syria map also got several iterations to get to the current quality level it has today. In my case, I will fly alot more night operations on Sinai map with the Apache - the mood at night is pretty strong on this map. Also the FLIR-image (saturation etc.) looks pretty solid on this map. So, I am quite impressed with the launch of the map and happy with it - especially in combination with the Apache. Did expect a much worse technical experience.3 points

Can you ED please fix these lights, they are there just for make the plane look good, nothing more. Here you can see the difference between F-16 an F/A-18. Just been on some new server, and notice this, I said to my self, "What's there on the other side, that's shines so brightly? Can't be another F-16 ". Please merge with this thread here.3 points

Hi Currenthill, Do you have a list of preferred future assets or a roadmap? I also wonder what wishes of the community coincide with yours3 points

VS is not entered via the pushbutton selection rotary (Wags' video had it incorrectly implemented, which was correct for older OFPs prior to MSI). Hover the TDC cursor over the radar mode and select VS with TDC Depress.3 points

Awesome stuff! Would you consider adding the A330-200 MRTT? We can discuss compensation if you're interested3 points

I despise Mods ???? That's a bit unkind, and offends many fine moders on here who spend hours trying to make the game more enjoyable for others. Why not say 'dislike' - you would still make your point without offending anyone.3 points

Situation is like this: Yes, and the game has now changed the model of the pyramids, I will explain why. Some beta testers started to experience fps drops to 0 when flying through the pyramids. But this does not happen in our tests. We are solving this issue, as soon as we deal with this bug, we will return the models to their place, thanks for your patience3 points

This is intended as is, the EIG was not adjustable in the B irl either, and was commented on as a nuisance by pilots. The above fix *should* alleviate that a bit, without making it unrealistic.3 points

After a couple of hours low level flight over Gizeh/Cairo, I'll have to say. This Map is beautiful. We have nothing like this so far in DCS. The sheer size of the cities... wow. And a special "two thumbs up" for the lighting. It is spot on. Flying over the city for an hour in dawn, whilst the sun rises and the lights in the city gradually go off. Just Great! Thank you for this Map!!!2 points

They don't know who's who, just that there is a possible enemy aircraft over the field. You'll need to write a letter to their families and explain the mishap2 points

That would be most welcome. A word of caution, though: by doing so you will a) be worshipped like a god in these forums and b) put ED and most of their partners in a very uncomfortable place I'm really looking forward to that roadmap - IMHO, it's one of these things that helps me to tell the pros from the tyros.2 points

I have to say, this was one of my first thoughts too - they have done a fantastic job with this, in what seemed to be a very short development time. I wonder what region is next on their list? Certainly large cities don't seem to be a problem any more. How about Taiwan?2 points

I wasn't really planning on buying Sinai, but an unexpected free weekend (the missus took our daughter and went on a last minute weekend trip with her girlfriends ) and my fear of missing out, made me pull the trigger. I'm happy I did! This map runs surprisingly well on my "old" VR pc (specs in my signature). I don't care for exact fps numbers, so I didn't check, but my overall experience is that everything is very smooth, even over all these huge cities. In fact it runs so smooth, I don't understand how that's possible at all with my system and VR. And guys, have you tried Cairo at night??? I mean, I've never seen anything like this in DCS! It literally gave me goosebumps and made me feel like Mathew:2 points
