Just for transparency and not to seem like we are removing a post because its negative towards us, the OP has a total of 4 accounts, the extra 3 will be banned and the original account warned. This is clearly stated in our rules. We have very dedicated people working on the AH-64, and while it might not be perfect yet, when we are done it will be easily the best representation of the AH-64D you can fly on your PC. Thanks all, and sorry about the drama. Any questions on this, feel free to PM me.4 points

You're a madman. Your mods adds a crazy amount of immersion to DCS and I would really love for ED take note of why your work is so exciting. Can't thank you enough.3 points

@Northstar98 Okay, this will be the last time I will answer to this topic, because, honestly, I value my time to much to read through your walls of text. 1) you needed to construct a special use case to make your argument work which shows that it won’t work universally, which is exactly what it needs to do. 2) we were talking about liveries and not maps, which is a completely different animal 3) I don‘t really care. Make unreasonable demands as much as you like, argue for the sake of arguing, it doesn’t affect me and I strongly doubt that it will change anything. As I said, it is close to impossible to tailor a suit of software to those kinds of granular individual needs. The amount of maintenance will skyrocket and the effort isn’t worth it.3 points

I noticed that RBS 15KA launches only one missile at a time per enemy ship, despite the task settings. Is this a consequence of DCS limitations, a bug, or can this be fixed through the unit task settings?3 points

Thanks, @BIGNEWY so I can release the air and continue waiting calmly. So the next will be 2.9? This BIG update? If yes, it's good news!3 points

Just wanted to say huge thank you to @SkateZilla for this tool. When you have to switch between different versions of DCS and jump in and out of VR it is absolutely priceless!3 points

Threads merged. I have no new news to share. Current situation is: Our login server reports no issues, we have enabled debug to look for clues. Error 400 is random, usually a DCS restart or PC reboot helps. If I get anything from the team I will pass it on. thank you3 points

A-20G Miss Laid / La France Libre and related generic skins uploaded. A-20G-25-DO ser. no. 43-9224, nicknamed "Miss Laid" (later changed to "La France Libre"), CodeF6-E of the 670th BS, 416th BG and depicted as after D-day when the upper surfaces invasion stripes were overpainted. Miss Laid was renamed to be more politically correct when taken for ceremony to Paris to honor the accomplishment. Note that the old nose art is still faintly visible through the olive drab. This aircraft was first in the ETO to complete one-hundred missions. Never once during these one-hundred missions was the plane forced to return because of mechanical failure. The original engines that powered "Miss Laid" on the first mission on 3 March 1944 against an enemy held airdrome at Poix, France were still in use on the 100th mission. Included are two generic skins with Bort letters enabled. One with full invasion stripes and one with the upper surfaces invasion stripes overpainted. We are so blessed to have you Currenthill, your mods are truly amazing quality, ED hasn't offered you a job yet? I just tried the American infantry, it works really well!!! All that's missing is the Russian infantry, and with the American infantry, we will have the 2 main "blue/red" infantry!! I've been waiting to have versatile infantry with ATGM, AT, sniper, etc for so long... Your work is incredible! PS Thanks to for Grigorovich class. Such a amazing model! I make a donation!!3 points

ED is going to seek to make reality... not fantasies. He's already taken care of removing a lot of the fantasy weaponry from LOMAC, FC. Now he's not going to add it back in. They do not seek "balance". In addition, whenever someone wants a weapon, ED asks for official documentation, papers, SMEs, etc. that the weaponry is operational on the aircraft in question.3 points

With these great helps of Fisherman82 , I got those exterior lights on my models in DCS. I've sent a private message to him, same trouble report here again. Position lights and Logo lights don't animation in DCS. My exported edm files don't contain the argument number 69 to turn-on/off those lights. Those lights are always On in DCS. "Disable in Renders" action is not exported in my environment ; Blender 3.3.11 + Tobi's EDM Exporter 1.0.12 . Something mistaken by me in setup / operation Blender or Exporter .... but I have no idea. Old versions' set --- Blender 2.93 + Exporter 1.0.8 --- was the same. I have to solve this problem before publish a new version. Cabin interior lights in the screenshots are a fake gimmick. Under airport light towers or sunset glow, a bit strange feeling will come ; but I cannot do anymore about it. They'll keep as is to the publishing time.2 points

Not sure about MiG-27. Seems to me this is top secret SEAD aircraft that u can see only in dreams. Anyway we have some real work on Su-22M4 by SVK Sniper. Also we have Su-25. Not clickable, but it do his work very good. But what we see by BLUE? F-5E, F-1CE/EE, Viggen, Sabre, Tomcat, seems like not too much A/G jets, isn`t it? And what will we get in close future? Super Sabre, F-4 Phantom, Kfir, Tornado, Intruder, Corsar ll, and MiG-23MLA and MiG-17F (and probably Su-22M4) for RED. This would be awesome if all 3 ships comes, but what will u do with 15 Tigers (Phantoms) walking around the map and searching some tasty bombers for breakfast? How to fight with attack aircraft against dogfighters? And yes, MiG-25RBT is strategic bomber, it means it can go thrue the map at 60k feet at 2.5M and to bomb enemy strategig objects/airbase behind enemy lines. Tanks and farposts not his deal. Anyway, I`m absolutely sure DCS should to do clickable Su-25. Very much ppl fly it. But if any dev decide to do MiG-27K, it will be Cold War`s terminator, no doubt. Why MiG-25? Seems because we have a lot of data about systems. It can provide air superiority for bombers`s/froggy`s work and also to perform a breakthrough to strategic objects. If this way bad for red, then ok2 points

Nothing. It looks better. Capability-wise (real-world), they're pretty similar. null They're both cool aircraft and the MiG comes with the added benefit of having a recce variant and dropping some bombs (plus it actually saw some pew-pew conflict, apart from shooting at unarmed vehicles like the Flagon). Both aircraft only make sense, if we actually could build a proper PVO campaign, including battling the (sub-) arctic weather. Which means: We need weather-presets with sh1ttier weather (lower clouds, less visibility and more rain/ snow). /opinion2 points

The AIM-54C will always go active if it hasn't already if you stop guiding it so yes, if you fire it in PD-STT it will go active if you break lock. The AIM-54A will go stupid like you say. When you fire in P-STT the AIM-54 will always launch active as the AWG-9 can't guide the missile in pulse mode so the two missiles will behave the same. And yes, the only missile you technically have to guide all the way to the target is the AIM-54A in PD-STT. It is however still recommended to always guide them to target regardless if you can. No, afaik the AIM-54C going active with lost PD-STT guidance is accurate. What isn't is that the AIM-54C in DCS will go active in PD-STT even if you keep the lock. IRL it wouldn't unless you break lock, but that is a DCS-ism as it is.2 points

DLSS in MSFS is very good using VR. You can use the native resolution of the headset while upscaling it much higher with DLSS to get even sharper details, while the anti-aliasing is really perfect (0% shimmering). If ED would implement DLSS to 2D only then it won't even worth to start the development. DCS in 2D looks very nice and the performance is really good even with MSAA 4x.2 points

Was going to start a new thread but I think Rob's is a better place tbh. It's something that's being bothering me for awhile in I think the D-30 early should have the same weapon release system as the D-30 late and it looks like we have an upto D-27 configuration Here is an image of the National Air and Space museums D-30RA which was used as an aerial gunnery trainer from '44 https://imgur.com/a/1iAfQLL Here is what it says about weapon release in the RL manual for the blocks we have in dcs https://imgur.com/a/5FqkeGE https://imgur.com/a/rqRl4Go https://imgur.com/a/wu5hL0W https://imgur.com/a/xiz5nIT So in conclusion we should only have the master arm switches down by the left thigh and no jettison handles. So should be the same in all 3 of our 47s https://imgur.com/a/Qx4c0sh Also what about adding a take off throttle stop, not massively needed but it would be nice to have the option2 points

Thanks YoYo. As far as we can tell there is no pattern, it is random. ST / MT, VR or 2D we have had reports of it happening for all.2 points

Hi all, if you are posting images from real world manuals please include the source and verify it is unclassified and for public use. We can not always tell and will hide posts if we can not confirm its origin. A reminder of our rules 1.16 Posting of screenshots, images, file links, file sharing links, and copying and pasting information is prohibited if the source document has a limited distribution statement or it is classified. Limited distribution includes DoD Distribution Statement C, Distribution Statement D, Distribution Statement E, Arms Export Control Act, Export Administration Act, and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) controlled sources. When posting aircraft, sensor, or weapon information more recent than 1980, you must also include the source of the document that demonstrates that it is 100% public and verified as not from a limited distribution source as listed. thank you2 points

Thats quite difficult to achieve. The ground is very uneven in places so the concrete 'blocks' have to be quite thick to compensate for the undulations, and even then a large block will almost always disappear on one side or corner depending on how the ground below it lies. The block when placed will be flat, or it might tilt dramatically (I'm not sure why that happens but it has to be something to do with the ground underneath it I expect). So, you are probably restricted to quite small blocks of concrete and putting them side by side, BUT its very unlikely they will meet up perfectly along the joining edges. The only place you might be able to get a good match is on an existing in game concrete texture, but there would be no point in doing that of course. Your other choice is to make a very long or very large block of concrete and find a place where it does not tilt or fade into the sloping ground below it too much. We never managed to do it well. Hawkeye and I played around with this ages ago, we made a few small blocks with a bit of thickness to them and I use them a bit, but there is no damage model so any vehicle you place on them sits on the ground below the block, not very accurate really. No aircraft could land on them, we found they will always crash because they are landing on the ground underneath, not the block. We never tried to resolve that, better things to be getting on with. The chances of finding a long enough bit of map to place a single runway on as a single block, say, is pretty remote I fear. Your other choice is to edit existing game ground texture files but that's a huge task and not one I would spend time on. Others have done that by creating better textures for certain maps and I have done a little bit of that to my own Caucasus Map but that took me a huge amount of time to do and again I had other things I wanted to be doing. There were a couple of Mods, one done by eightball I think, of a building you could add floors to, but I'm not aware of any large concrete block or long runway mods. It might be done one day, so keep asking.2 points

This one is really difficult to answer, because I kinda want them all. With the Kola Peninsula map we'll have airbases for 3 of them (MiG-25RB, Su-15 and Yak-38), but for the latter, I'd want an 80s Kiev to go with it (and a few more Soviet surface combatants, namely the Sovremenny, Udaloy I and Kresta II). For our current maps, the MiG-25 fits over Syria, the Su-15 fits over the Caucasus and the MiG-25 kinda fits over the Sinai. For the Syria map, the MiG-25 was used by both Syria and Iraq. While we don't have much of the latter, we do have one airbase group (H-3) for them. For the Caucasus, the Su-15 fits, being based at Gadauta (and Marneuli, though despite the Caucasus map covering the area, the airbase isn't present). For the Sinai map, Soviet MiG-25Rs were briefly based at Cairo West in the early 70s, being used to perform reconnaissance over Israel. Well, you say that, with the Kola Peninsula map we'll hopefully be getting a former (though still clearly extant on satellite imagery) PVO airbase that based the Su-15 (Afrikanda - home to the 431st Fighter Aviation Regiment PVO), fun fact, a Su-15 from this airbase was responsible for the downing of Korean Airlines Flight 902 in 1978. I'm pretty sure it was also based on airbases we have on the Caucasus map (Gudauta). To the north there's Monchegorsk (which is on the list of bases confirmed), which still bases the MiG-25RB, with the 98th Independent Reconnaissance Aviation Regiment. So I think there's at least some precedent for them.2 points

Beware about the term "standalone" which in the industry mostly refers to "app running on the headset (as opposed to PC)". If you are using Quad-Views-Foveated, then I assume you are using PimaxXR - which is an OpenXR implementation that "ditches SteamVR". If you want to keep using SteamVR, you may simply not use PimaxXR (toggle back to SteamVR in the PimaxXR Control Center app). However if you do that, you will need to install an additional program in order to do eye tracking with SteamVR (because SteamVR does not support eye tracking): Home · mbucchia/OpenXR-Eye-Trackers Wiki (github.com) So for short, if you want to keep using SteamVR AND also benefit from Quad-Views-Foveated, you need to: 1) Disable PimaxXR and toggle back to SteamVR 2) Have Quad-Views-Foveated installed 3) Have OpenXR-Eye-Trackers installed1 point

haha i guess not many get close enough to put holes in the deck. I will say, i redone the mission and all worked, but i think the timing for taxi is out!! If i go when told to, i think i end up pushing in front of other units, and that causes the collision. If anyone wants a work around, just let all other planes go, and launch last, ignore the yellowshirt.1 point

Currently if trying to monitor bomb in zone the condition will be true even if the bomb flies through the zone but doesn't actually land in it. Could the logic be changed somehow to register only those bombs that land in the zone. Possibly an altitude function.1 point

Another Vaicom user here with the same problem. I actually have disabled Vaicom at the moment while flying with the Apache. I'm going to want it back again (love it when flying the FA18 off and back on the deck of the Supercarrier, among other things) but yeah - it's got an inheritent problem with the in game menu for some reason. Symptoms include the menu appearing randomly (which is normally fixed with an update or doing the usual 'fixes') but keeps returning after other updates, or as in your mentioned case - unable to access any COM menu's while in flight while it's activated. There's obviously some base link between coms menu and Vaicom - and the way it's done is obviously in such a way that it can interfere with normal operations if not exactly right. I'm guessing Vaicom doesn't have access to the SDK so are doing their best without it maybe?1 point
