Dear friends and pilots. We apologize for the long update, but rest assured that we are working on improving our module (it was our mistake to make the update so big). We are currently finalizing some scenes after our internal testing, fixing some internal bugs, and preparing the module for an update. As planned, new airfields were added as announced in the road map. More than 90 new unique and historical buildings + some additional objects that we didn’t plan: an oil platform, new yachts, air balloon and etc... Added unique hangars for the F35 at the Nevatim airfield, as well as parking for them. Improved scenes of Cairo, Alexandria, Eilat and Jerusalem. Thank you for your patience and attention. I am attaching screenshots of the new update.15 points

Hey guys, I have made an optional version of the Rebel ship with tarps. I don't want to hurt Eddie's eyes. Also, some of you may not want to see the missiles and bombs. I found a free downloadable tarp on Sketchfab. Enjoy. Version 1.0.2 with Tarps I'm headed back to the Shipyard.7 points

@BIGNEWYwhat have you done to me! I used to be a normal person, I mean, I was never Brad Pitt cool, but i could hold my own in a room. You have got me almost giddy with delight with the new shockwave animations. I have just spent the last hour dropping different sized bombs in the jungles on Saipan, saying 'that's so cool!' With each impact. I haven't been this excited since heatblur updated their suspension animation..... I used to be cool! Damn you DCS!!! In all seriousness..... its SO COOL!!!! You don't know what you have missed till you get it and this latest update has me grinning from ear to ear. Thanks to you and the team.5 points

Please see the road map. I know its take a long time, but the detail and work that goes into a modern-day pilot model is huge, and we do not only have the F-16 to do. That said it is coming very soon and getting very close. Thanks.5 points

Thanks Toan. We have to always adjust to the updates DCS releases. Everyone I have released the Rebel Ship Oscar. Nothing fancy about her. It's a nice size file because of the weapons I added on the topside decks. I probably should have placed tarps on top of them. I don't think any ships would be crazy enough to carry weapons on deck to be seen. Enjoy.5 points

Latest patch reverted to the old problems with the Dogfight Switch and radar modes not being remembered. Put her into DF mode and select your Radar mode such as vertical and it loses lock and you lose the mode. It exactly the way it was before you guys fixed it a few patches ago.4 points

Too late Eddie, I've already reduced the size of the file and uploaded an update. I need to find a tarp or something to cover them with. Next update. Hello everyone I have reduced the file size of the mod. It should be game-friendly. Rebel Ship Oscar 1.0.1 has been updated and released.4 points

This game aims to realistically represent military aeroplanes (+CE2 :] ), and flying a fighter jet is not easy, isn't it? That being said, it will take some time, practice and study, of course, but eventually, it will become a slightly more complex version of the Tomcat (which is quite easy to operate). A point you have not considered is that a GCI (get a human one) will do most of the work to get you where you need to be. Moreover, you can fly directly from the back more efficiently than in the Tomcat. You can do all the radar work there and move to the front when needed. Hell, you can even land from the backseat, worst case pretend it's IFR!4 points

My first foray into the DCS World has been fairly successful. A few wobbly circuits flown, Tacan navigation is working, and I've got most of my keybinds set (although I have to now remember where they all are!). I haven't yet even used VR, until all is ironed out. VoiceAttack is set to give all required commands to Ground Crew, plus "live pause" (which I've needed a lot!). This is not a "game" for me. Contrary to many assesments of DCS on Yootoobs that seem to think the devs should churn out low fidelity models to fill the gaps for pure "gamers," I'm trying to properly learn to fly in this sim, not just fling rockets down range. Weapons systems will come later, but I'm loving the realism. I hopeit doesn't become what many seem to want it to be. There are other games out there that cater for casual gamers. I haven't even switched the Master Arm on yet, and I'm loving DCS! I'm not a total notice in terms of aviation, but there is a lot to learn in a jet. I have no plans to upgrade from the F-5E for a good while yet!3 points

It would be nice if there was a price to pay for being too greedy for a kill and you get damaged, or "shot down" because you flew through your targets debris...3 points

Just a thought, but if Razbam reps have publicly stated they will no longer be supporting their modules, wouldn't it behoove ED to place a disclaimer notice for Razbam modules while they continue selling them? As it currently stands, ED has the F-15E plastered on their title page like nothing is afoot. Seems a little dishonest to carry on with business as usual without at least notifying potential buyers of potential end of support life, especially while several modules are still in "early access". Otherwise, if it's "fake news" then ED needs to assure us it is in fact "fake news".3 points

Thanks, Citizen. I assume your lag has diminished. The idea of the mod came from what's going on in the Red Sea. A Loaded ammunition ship headed for Yemen.3 points

The community does a great service to the devs by reporting bugs and providing the required documents. Sadly, we have no idea what bugs were assigned to the devs, and when - which is the downside of the bugs sub-forum. We also can't '+1' those threads anymore since they are locked after the bugs are reported. I think it's time to be more transparent about what bugs are assigned to devs.3 points

Hey Citizen, it's weird because I reduced the file size but when I updated the weapons the file size grew again. I will reduce it again to make it game-friendly. No worries. Thanks for the feedback.3 points

Thanks for the report, just fixed it internally. We've made some significant modifications to the armament code to prepare it for the F1M, so some bugs have been introduced (although others have been fixed). We will make sure all the new reported armament bugs are fixed ASAP.3 points

DCS-BO-105 Progress news for April 2024 FM OVERVIEW We are currently in the process of connecting all other instruments to the corresponding bus routes. All instruments will be connected correctly according to the circuit diagram and will react accordingly. This includes power supply, light intensity, magnetic switch behavior and instrument failure. We have also almost finished integrating the drag and wind forces from all external components of the helicopter. The downwash MEDUSA-FM is 50% done as well. Further progress on the flight model is blocked until the altimeter, speed indicator and and compass are done code-wise. FORCES, WIND and DAMAGE Since the MEDUSA system monitors the entire helicopter, all forces such as penetrating wind, stabilizers, OAT (Outside air temperature), damage and blown parts are taken into account. For example, if a rotor blade is broken or missing, the MEDUSA rotor task will take this into account and recalculate the flight behavior. MEDUSA ROTOR SYSTEM The rotor system was implemented accurately. This also includes the rigid rotor head directed 3° forward and ~1.5° forward to the right. Currently we are in the process of aligning the line of sight indicator compass to the magnetic compass. Since the magnetic compass shows the real position of the helicopter, the line of sight compass may differ in certain circumstances. A "+" (plus) or a circle indicator will tell you if you need to adjust the line of sight compass. You will be able to calibrate the disc (indexed rotation of the compass disc) and adjust it to the magnetic compass with a switch. ELECTRIC BUS The electric bus is finished and is just waiting to receive signals from the remaining devices. It's 100% implemented according to the circuit diagram. WEAPON SYSTEM The weapon system is currently in our backlog and will be implemented when the majority of other systems are complete. This is one of the last tasks for MEDUSA. As always, this will be implemented exactly according to the circuit diagram. This includes, but is not limited to: SELF TEST Wire cut cases Power problems The weapon system communicates with the line of sight indicator, YAW control and the current position of the helicopter. YAW CONTROL INSIGHTS When YAW CONT is on and the "SIGHT LINE" ON switch on the collective is pressed/held, the helicopter will always follow the left/right angle of the sight unit (105° left/right). However, the pilot always has control over the helicopter and must ensure that he is always within the line of sight limit (line of sight Indicator Limits -> 3° left/right). If the conditions are not met, the HOT can't be fired. If the HOT is in flight and the pilot deviates from the 3°, the HOT's communication wires are cut. If steering inputs are too hard, the hydraulic system switches from System 1 to System 2 (Displayed on the warning panel). This automatically switches the YAW CONT magnetic switch to OFF. In this mode the helicopter is no longer able to follow the periscope. This entire process is monitored by the MEDUSA HYDRAULIC task and the MEDUSA POWER SUPPLY task.3 points

So I'm not sure if this is the case with all the current aim-9s, but right now in the Mirage F1 if you take off cold or with a new rearm, ever since the Wednesday update on April 10th the AIM-9B will have no standby growl sound when you select them or go into close combat mode. however the growl does come back on as soon as the missiles detect a heat source, and then the standby low growl tone comes back, and stays on like it should.2 points

Mashhad International Aiport is just to the West of the planned area, maybe one day ED can add it as they did with some airports in the PG map that were not planned in the first idea. Is a small airport, but would be a very nice addition for IRIAF flights on the region, as I will show you, it has been a very important airfield for Irani operations against insurgency/smuggling in the area. Where Mashhad is? Just some KM west of the planned area. How the airport look: And why is historically important and can allow us to fly missions with the IRIAF assets like the F-5E, the F-4E and the Tomcat... Is still used as a base for IRIAF fighters and it regulary sees deployments in the area. Thanks for reading.2 points

@Foka Sorry, but you are missing the point here. I think the OP is aware of what roll and yaw is. BUT: In (some) non-FBW aircraft you can make the aircraft roll by using the rudder.2 points

Yup, it's fixed internally, as ED removed OB from their site, so the parser is parsing the wrong lines and reporting the wrong strings to compare.2 points

Yup, many. Nothing beats the convenience, ease of use and clarity of 2D. VR is great for driving sims and simpler flying like WWI/WWII/General aviation stuff but its definitely not the end all be all. And people that say this always sound like they are asserting it must be all one or the other. I fly VR sometimes for the experience and fun, but most of the time I'm 2D personally. It is actually possible to go back and forth between the two ya know.2 points

I'm not ... the F-18 has been available for 18 months longer than the F-16, so that could explain why more people own it. I find they are both about the same complexity, and the Hornet has the added difficulty of learning to operate from a carrier.2 points

Actual sensor fusion, as in the ability to designate trackfiles without radar contribution, or slave sensors to them. Another thing would be the ability to use sensors other than the radar to contribute to and/or create MSI trackfiles. Lastly, there's a system to "rank" sensor importance/priority, to determine which one is the most reliable, and thus use it as the primary source of data. Like how the radar is higher priority than MIDS right now (even though you get information from C2 and/or F/F, your MSI trackfile's position, altitude and velocity is primarily determined by your radar).2 points
-
No, it came with DCS. Since real pilots said it's slow I expect it to be slow in the simulation - what's wrong with that? If the real aircraft flies M2 then it should fly M2 in DCS, right? Have you tested it for yourself? The method I tested with a mouse, one handed, changes 1000lbs in 2 seconds - so what are we really talking about in this thread? If it was a Wishlist, by all means, please ask what you want - but it's posted in Bugs & Problems. And lastly if you want to operate rotary without looking at it then you as a user have that option, just bind it to your HOTAS or get the appropriate hardware and set it.2 points

Not exactly what was advertised during the early access though I recall there are at least some weapons missing.2 points
