  1. Dear CH-47F virtual pilots, Although the DCS: CH-47F has been released, there are certainly important features that will still be added and improved during the Early Access period. To help better understand the status of the project, we’ve created a roadmap to ensure clarity. As with other roadmaps, we will color-code items based on their status: Green – delivered. Blue – in development. Gray – to be developed. Our roadmap features are as follows: First Person Pilots and Crew Models. Additional Paint Schemes for Several Countries. Improvements to the Advanced Flight Control System (AFCS) including automatic turn coordination. Addition of the Digital Advanced Flight Control System (DAFCS) Core Functions that include automatic turn coordination, airspeed hold, and pitch attitude stability, and LCT. Longitudinal Cyclic Trim (LCT) actuators that adjust rotor tilt automatically allowing the fuselage to be level, even at high speeds. Differential Air Speed Hold (DASH) allows a more natural cyclic position as airspeed increases. (WIP) Addition of the Digital Advanced Flight Control System (DAFCS) Native Functions that include inertial and radar altimeter holds velocity, and position hold. Engine Air Particle Separator (EAPS) system. Addition of the Digital Advanced Flight Control System (DAFCS) Flight Director Functions provide MFD steering commands to the flight control computers while coupled to those selected cues. NOTE: Native and Flight Director build upon the Core functions and are not independent. Complete main MFD pages and sub-pages where suitable for the simulation. Multi-Crew Gunner Positions. Additional Gunner Weapon Options. More Interactive Training Missions. More Instant Action and Single Missions. Full Manual. Muti-Point Sling Loading. Flight Engineer Sling Load Door. Operation and Look Out from All Non-Cockpit Doors by Flight Engineer. Extended Range Fuel System (ERFS II). Fire Extinguishers. AN/AVS-7 Night Vision Goggles (NVG) Monocle with Symbology Kind regards, Wags Updated 7 August 2025

  2. I got mine yesterday and had it set up in about two hours after some glitches getting the firmware updated as nothing would download until I installed the pit house app as well as the cockpit app. I mounted it right up to my thrustmaster warthog Fox Mount desk mount in center stick position after building a little reinforcement to make it more secure. It dosent sit low enough for me to use the 10cm extension I have so until I find a solution for that im using it with the warthog grip directly on it. my very first impressions were slightly underwhelmed but I’ve turned around on that quite a bit after mucking with settings. The first thing I noticed was that the presets it comes with aren’t very good, at least for the P-51 and the F-18. They both seemed weak and underwhelming. Flying the OH58 was also a bit of a letdown as a strong centering force made it hard to be precise and made force trim jerky. however, tonight I messed with the slider a bit more and found really good settings for those three. Turning the spring force all the way down and everything else up made the OH58 amazing to fly. There’s still some centering force but it’s very light and the extremely precise and light stick movement instantly made me a 10x better helicopter pilot. I went from having a shaky and imprecise hover to a rock solid, extremely controlled precision hover. It’s a game changer. turning spring and just about everything up to 50% the P-51 with the force settings at 100% made for a very realistic feeling experience. After some instant action dogfights lasting maybe 10 min total, the base was still apparently cool and I never had any problems with the force feedback being throttled. overall I’m getting more and more excited about this the more I mess with it. I haven’t gotten the telemetry modes to work yet, so there’s a whole lot more to mess with there I think. If anyone knows how to get that working with DCS let me know.

  3. Please understand we are not a huge company, it takes months of work for pilot models, adding more choices is certainly something we want to do, but we also have to decide what is priority regarding new art. thank you

  4. I don’t do any of this and MT runs totally fine for me. It’s possible that people create their own problems by screwing with their PC too much. The best thing is to just run MT and report a bug if you see one. Provide all the correct data as well, specs, logs etc.

  5. just ran across this thread. i was stationed in Wildflecken 1/68 armor 1/1985 - 1/1987. this is a pic from the barracks up toward the motor pool. this base was important to the Fulda Gap strategy. A-10s would park on a little airstrip on the base.

  9. Please. Other people dont have to be able to see it, but if you can have it so we can walk around outside of aircraft and enter back in to it, it would be such an extremely awesome epic thing that i just have to suggest it in this single thread. Particularly for helicopter pilots, this would be an extremely awesome addition. PLEASE.

  11. I understand the confusion but i am not asking money for the MOD itself, the subscription is thru discord Hosting File server, i pay nitro to be able to host big files, the subscriptions cover hosting and software tools that help to create all sort of content, the subscription is also for my new game that i am working on, people get to play that while is being developed, this is not about dcs only, it's a discord where i share progress and host files thru discord, so people pay for the hosting system, I am sure many people will be confused, in short the subscription is to cover server costs such as server hosting and software's and other things. I could also set the whole server only available to subscribers, but I decided not to so that newcomers can see what's being worked on and those who want to support my server can do so thru Server Support subscriptions.

  15. Just did another bunch of runs, touch and go at Mount Pleasant, bop over to Stanley, all kinds of altitudes, then rooftop over Stanley, and the only consistent thing I noticed is the the Phantom hurts the most. FPS hits between 30% and 50% over the same spot on different flights. In the F-18, it's almost always a 10% hit at most, once I got about a 30% drop over Stanley, tore past, went up, went down, turned around, came down, and got a 10% hit in the exact same place and altitude over Stanley except this time I was going the other direction. The Phantom is the only consistent FPS killed with me. I'll try some more on the mainland. What a gorgeous map!

  17. Would be nice to have these vital details in the manual. Or even a detailed guide pinned in the forums. There's zero documentation on MC-LOAD errors, the matching fuze requirement, or the JPF page. And yet the customer is somehow expected to understand all these changes.

  20. Guys, I honestly don't follow the development of the F6F at all, although I'm looking forward to it and it would be great to see a Hellcat + Marianas WW2 at the same time (obligatory). I have no idea if we'll get an aircraft carrier. For Corsair it's being developed by Magnitude (Essex, with an unspecified date, probably next year, long time), but here I have no idea. Hellcat without any carrier is like candy through glass. I hope there will be an aircraft carrier at launch, even a simple one, without a ton of extra features. Does anyone know anything?

  21. 06 September 2024 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, In the next update, we will be dropping the single threaded version of DCS to focus on the multi threaded version alone. We have made significant enhancements that offer improved performance and stability and can’t wait to share them with you. Stay tuned! We have also been working on the new first person CH-47F pilot models and pleased to share some Development Screenshots. The modelling and textures are complete with animations currently in progress. Please check out the details below. DCS for Disabilities is run by a disabled veteran who aims to create a more welcoming environment for DCS pilots with disabilities that are unable to complete long missions due to their conditions. If you are struggling with a disability and looking for a group to fly with, please consider the DCS for Disabilities group. Join now! Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Multithreading Integration process Significant multithreading progress has been made since its release, improving performance and stability substantially. This is particularly true for multiplayer servers with numerous forces. Multithreading has enabled the use of modern multi-core processors by distributing workloads more efficiently across CPU cores. We will continue to improve our multithreading for DCS and focus on performance through the platform. With multithreading at an advanced and stable state, we will be terminating the older single-threaded version of DCS in the next update. CH-47F Pilots Development Progress The DCS: CH-47F module will soon be receiving first person view pilot models. These models are being crafted to ensure every aspect of the pilot's appearance reflects real-world standards. The flight suits, helmets, and accessories such as body armour and communication gear have all been modelled. This will be a particularly important improvement for those of you flying in virtual reality. These new models will be fully integrated into the cockpit and animated to correspond with crew actions, control operation, interaction with instruments and more! In parallel, we are adding new elements and functionality to LCT (Longitudinal Cyclic Trim), AFCS (Automated/Advanced Flight Control System), DAFCS (Digital Advanced Flight Control System), DASH (Digital Air Speed Hold), DCP (Differential Collective Pitch), as well as new display pages and associated functions, new aircraft skins, more advanced sling functions, improvements to the cargo system, new crew-served weapons, and more. DCS for Disabilities MP Server The DCS for Disabilities group focuses on supporting disabled DCS pilots. The Scuttlebutt Lounge Discord channel is a place where disabled DCS pilots can get support, set up controllers, discuss their particular challenges and arrange multiplayer missions that best support their unique needs. The group flies all DCS modules, and has led to amazing friendships. They strive to place DCS in the homes of mobility challenged individuals, veterans, warriors, and children in need of hope and strong mentorship in a safe community. Join their discord! Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,

  22. Right! I tested myself on the newest update. You guys are absolutely correct. Up above I get steady 60+ FPS, and going down low it drops to a steady 19FPS. It wasn't like this for me when the F-4 initially dropped. For good measure I tested Kola, (damn those textures really looks like winter here in Norway, with a couple of flaws). Steady 45FPS medium hight, guess the trees take a toll, and going down low it fluctuate, but not less than 30FPS. So, somethings up with the SA map for sure. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

  25. Whichever way you cut it, with the aircraft in a paywall along with your other non-DCS projects (that people looking for your Su-57 may not necessarily be interested in), it still results in people having to pay a monthly subscription to gain access to the Su-57's download link. I admire the work that you do, and I respect the things that you do, but something just doesn't sit right. Nevertheless, I think that it is up to forum admins and ED staff to determine whether what you're doing is allowed or not.

  27. That is indeed an EULA violation and im sure hes already being hit up about it. Def cant do that for third party mods ED doesnt make anything from that which would be a bug problem. No contract in plcae no negotiations... yeah no doubt about it!

  28. I can see the missions fine in Windows Explorer, but they didn't show up in DCS until I removed the periods. (I just checked and I can see them with the leading period in DCS now - not sure why I couldn't see them before.)

  29. Just did a series of completely unscientific tests over Stanley and only got a frame drop of 50% in the Phantom, and not even every flight in the Phantom. F-14, F15E, F-16, F-18, maybe a 10% drop here and there between the clouds and the dirt. And then I fly the Phantom and get the same 10% drop in the exact same place I got the 50% drop several flights back. Fortunetaly this is an enjoyable task for an early Sunday morning with my coffee and I'll try it some more.

  32. No, but I think I figured it out. I have a dual throttle with idle on/off on each axis. I think that because JF17 is single engine, I had the throttles connected when binding, and idle on ended being on the right throttle, while idle off on the left. This caused some weird behavior. Not sure why this would shut down my engine on hotstart only (throttle positions were forward anyway), but I think it doesn't happen anymore.

  40. There is a very prominent stepping effect from the engines sound when spooling down during shut down. It is not linear as a jet engine shutting off. Also a rumbling noise like it is an afterburner effect when idle on the ramp with the B variant inside the cockpit, which feels weird, like a space ship is launching at distance. (video bellow) This happened after cycling from the F2 view back into the cockpit. Loud synthetic afterburner noise in DCS options is turned off/unchecked.

  41. Folks as mentioned when we first started on the multithreading journey not all PC's will see improvement, with that said the team have made huge improvements during its testing in the public build and we have been getting some great feedback from you all. Some of you are still seeing issues and we will continue to look at your dcs logs and dxdiags to see if we can continue to improve or find the reasons some people still see issues. Please also understand there are many reasons for stutters, not all are related directly to multithreading, and can be system setup, settings, hardware, third party apps or mods, scripts and many more reason, it is not always easy to find the reason for a particular problem. Ive just returned after a weeks holiday and I am currently catching up on last weeks events. I will continue to look at the issues some of you are having and highlight them to the team, so if you are leaving good bug reports with a dcs log and dxdiag thank you, it is very helpful. As soon as I have clearance from the team regarding the next patch I will update the patch status forum post as usual. thank you

  42. I'm ready to pay 2x as much for proper MiG-21 FAMILY made the way how Heatblur did their F-4 Phantom II MiG-21F-13 MiG-21FL MiG-21PF/PFM MiG-21SMT MiG-21MF MiG-21R MiG-21bis both variants (face lifting. new 3d new Flight model, new damage model, exactly modelled systems). Stop neglecting fans of Cold War era aviation. To be honest... MiG-21 family vs F-4 Family .... Mi-24 /Mi-2/Mi-8 vs UH-1H/AH-1G/CH-47C, solid portion of A2G attack planes of both sides + that what's promised F-104, A-7, A-6, A-1 ... and I'll forget anything else exist in dcs... F-16? F18? MiG-29? A-10? Su-25/27/33....? “Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.”

  47. As stated, there is no physiological feedback to the pilot in DCS, so it's brake application by mail. An IRL pilot feels the deceleration and the foot pressure, both absent in DCS World. An IRL pilot would apply brakes up to the maximum Usable force. The repeater brake key does not, it goes from 0 to 100% mechanical braking force in way less than a second, like some idiot stomping on the brake pedal. On the other hand, reducing the Max mechanical braking force, to the Max Usable force, resolves the issue, as the repeater brake key will not exceed that threshold. So, a little brake, or a lot of brake, up to the maximum Usable force. Bowie
