  5. Totally agree with this! CH, can you add modern Russian weapons (glide bombs (UMPK FAB 500/1500), ASMs like KH-36/38/59MK/59MK2) to AI Su-34 (as a part of the Russian Pack) like you did with the Ukrainian Su-24MU?

  9. Hello DCS! I Love to fly DCS, did a lot of fixed wing flying and its ok without rudderpedale, but now im flying helicopters (AH64) and its a pain to control the rudderpedals with a mouse cursor. Will it be bossible to code something "We" disabled people who can not user our legs to have an option to have a chkbox for auto rudders or something. It would be soooo great if you could think us in here. Thanks Kukki

  12. It shouldn't require a youtube-video that goes out to 5k people before one gets good customer service. Too many tech-companies already provide much better service to people that can or do generate PR-damage to the company, rather than all of their customers, including those who don't make a scene.

  13. I'm happy for the update and will probably get it as soon as it's available. But this just enhances my opinion that the FC4 version should have been "downgraded " to a A model. I understand we're not gonna get a full fidelity A. So making the FC4 an A models would add a new aircraft to the game. And would let us use the A for those countries that used it.

  18. I understand your point Tavarish, I don't doubt it either. What I mean is that it's very difficult for the missile to reach that in normal combat conditions, an F-14B loaded in the DCS with 4 AIM-54 on average can accelerate to 1.4/1.6 mach with a lot of effort using a very smooth climb profile to 40k. Maybe you don't know I'll give you a summary of what happened to the Phoenix in this game (And why i'm still here): First the missile arrived with CFD data that generated a white paper that was made available, but due to flaws in the game engine the missile had a kind of “ convulsion ” when it activated its radar and drained almost all of its energy. What did the developer do with the missile? add a lot of thrust to compensate for this, where the missile became in game terms “overpowered” and above all made the missile very unrealistic with a no escape zone in the deck of almost 10nm, quickly the Phoenix and the F-14 became a nightmare in “multiplayer online matches” as it clearly had a “wonder-weapon” all this generated animosity against the AIM-54. After some time and many complaints, corrections were made returning the missile to the state of the initial CFD studies (these studies were later deleted by the developer) then new corrections were made according to the NASA simulations we saw earlier in this thread, making the missile perhaps more realistic. However, after the adjustments that brought the missile closer to the NASA documents, more and more adjustments were made, reducing the missile's thrust to the point where NASA's own study was no longer valid. These later adjustments were made on a “trust me, bro” basis, with no public data available for validation. I don't want to use the “I work with this” card because I don't exactly work in the aerospace industry, but in my work we also use precision data, and when the information varies a lot and we don't have a reliable source (which seems to be happening with the AIM-54) the only thing that can save us are studies and mathematics That's where you come into the discussion, because so far you're the only one who has brought data, formulas and something that can be validated here. That's when I decided to continue “fighting” for the truth so that the missile is as close to the real thing as possible. But from the amount of attacks and argumentative fights I suffer here, it seems that this is more of a developer's fan club then an actual discussion topic about a Improvements & Overhaul. (at least here it's more civilized than discord where I was almost lynched)I don't remember the exact term, but your whole study there was called something like “Russian reverse engineering delusion” I don't care about the arguments, I just want the science behind it, If the missile is proven to be right the way it is, that's fine with me, As an enthusiast I'm here looking for the best experience I can get and to know where it came from. Again thanks for you, for your effort here. And as long as I'm allowed to, or when the data is released so that the current performance can be validated, I'll say that the game's current missile is a “guesswork-based delusion” I even apologize for this, but after so many attacks for simply questioning something I can't just stay on the defensive.

  19. Will we get any (planned?) new weapons for the F-5 ? - or current weapon(s) but on other hardpoint(s) as well ? (4 sidewinders maybe ?) - or any new 3D models (or new version-specific Arg-based-visibility-objects/parts: like swiss dorsal antenna on screenshots/in videos) for new AI variants ? - on external 3D model: correct length of rope and shape of drag chute, arrester hook (length and pivot point), nose wheel steering mechanics, boarding ladder, intake/nozzle covers, updated animations for nozzle petals, optional wingtip fuel tanks, aerial air refueling probe etc. ? TY ▼ wrong length and pivot point/axis of the arrester hook The hook: how it should look like when lowered ▼ (+comes lower in the air) nose wheel steering mechanics ▼ brake-chute shape and length Nozzle petals: fully closed on the right and fully opened on the left▼

  22. Changing the folder name was not something I tried. But since the skins that are saved under S3B Tanker are still listed in the mission editor, I think the old location is still valid. Just the parts from the 3D model seem to have been renamed. An example for a working description.lua file would be a great help. Maybe @BIGNEWY can help? I'd love to update my skins for the community, especially for the upcoming Super carrier update.

  23. I give you F5 because I haven't flown it in years, and yes I don't hang out on forums, only in discord and haven't seen people complaining about it there but it is what it is. You're right, maybe ED has some omega plan and will make everything better. Thing is - they need people buying modules to fund further development. That is the main problem, how am I supposed to keep buying modules, wait patiently and hope that things will get better if what I see is ruins my hopes? I waited and hoped long enough, I've bought enough modules, and after all this time results are very disappointing. I'm not gonna spend any more money or be more lenient just to see them add one detail per year like new gun sounds for pony or new suspension model, especially when every update I open up the changelog and see biblical amount of updates and fixes on modern jets and scroll down to ww2 just to see "P51: adjusted weather in campaign mission" 99% of the time.

  24. Myself, I can't wait for the upgrade. Looks like I'll be getting the MiG-15, too, just in case they decide to touch it up as well. The F-5 is such a sweet piece of kit. I guess they're not making the A model because this would involve some FM development. The FM is explicitly being ported from the older F-5, which is probably a huge time and effort saver. Also, things like Mavs or Bullpups would require avionics coding, whereas here they just need to fix some outstanding bugs, not code an entire system from scratch.

  25. But surely it will not just instantly drop the lock when the target changes hemisphere within gimbal limits? The Dmax2 is calculated under assumption that the target turns away from the fighter at constant overload, meaning it will cross through the 90° angle if it was fired upon in front hemisphere. Would be almost useless if the radar would just instantly lose the target in a close combate in that case.

  29. For comparison, the $10 upgrade to the A-10C brought us entirely new and complex systems like the HMD, and many artwork upgrades, plus FM fixes, were also transfered to the original A-10C even if you didn't purchase the $10 upgrade. As it stands now, the F-5 upgrade does not bring the same value as the A-10C-II upgrade did.

  31. BTW this is a good business model, people should be happy to pay a mere $10 for an upgrade. If we don't pay anything, and the base game is free, there is little reason for ED to update these old, more niche modules.
    2 points
  32. Even if the F-5E revamped contains only cosmetic changes, I am still interested, don't mind paying for the upgrade. May be I am in the minority. Anyway, keep the updates coming, make them with substance and really worth your time and our money.

  40. when it comes to mods they have a weird opinion. they seem to like vehicle or plane mods but despise weapon mods. they dont like them because they cause issues here and there and users end up complaining to ED here on the forum. i think its a weird double standard as other mods can cause the same problems, not just weapon mods. but oh well, thats their statement. hell, they wont even let 3rd party devs make their own weapons anymore. they dont appear to want to give users better tools for making better mods. IMO they're actively sabotaging us by introducing changes to the core and then hiding the new values

  41. Regarding the TACAN, I've not seen it mentioned here but it has been discussed on the A4E Discord page. Apparently a recent DCS update broke it. There is a replacement LUA file published on the Github page which fixed it for me. https://github.com/Community-A-4E/community-a4e-c/blob/develop/A-4E-C%2FCockpit%2FScripts%2FSystems%2Fmission.lua

It also has a hard time properly interacting with clouds, as in most cases contrails currently can be partly seen through a cloud. Just asking that contrail effects perhaps use the new volumetric system. Thanks!

  45. Dear CH-47F virtual pilots, Although the DCS: CH-47F has been released, there are certainly important features that will still be added and improved during the Early Access period. To help better understand the status of the project, we’ve created a roadmap to ensure clarity. As with other roadmaps, we will color-code items based on their status: Green – delivered. Blue – in development. Gray – to be developed. Our roadmap features are as follows: First Person Pilots and Crew Models. Additional Paint Schemes for Several Countries. Improvements to the Advanced Flight Control System (AFCS) including automatic turn coordination. Addition of the Digital Advanced Flight Control System (DAFCS) Core Functions that include automatic turn coordination, airspeed hold, and pitch attitude stability, and LCT. Longitudinal Cyclic Trim (LCT) actuators that adjust rotor tilt automatically allowing the fuselage to be level, even at high speeds. Differential Air Speed Hold (DASH) allows a more natural cyclic position as airspeed increases. (WIP) Addition of the Digital Advanced Flight Control System (DAFCS) Native Functions that include inertial and radar altimeter holds velocity, and position hold. Engine Air Particle Separator (EAPS) system. Addition of the Digital Advanced Flight Control System (DAFCS) Flight Director Functions provide MFD steering commands to the flight control computers while coupled to those selected cues. NOTE: Native and Flight Director build upon the Core functions and are not independent. Complete main MFD pages and sub-pages where suitable for the simulation. Multi-Crew Gunner Positions. Additional Gunner Weapon Options. More Interactive Training Missions. More Instant Action and Single Missions. Full Manual. Muti-Point Sling Loading. Flight Engineer Sling Load Door. Operation and Look Out from All Non-Cockpit Doors by Flight Engineer. Extended Range Fuel System (ERFS II). Fire Extinguishers. AN/AVS-7 Night Vision Goggles (NVG) Monocle with Symbology Kind regards, Wags Updated 7 August 2025
