  1. Hi We are currently actively working on Cold War Germany phase 2 and decided to find out your wishes in order to find original objects/locations that we can additionally include in the list and without which it is impossible to release phase 2. Your wishes for phase 1 were very valuable, hints from local residents, guys who served in the service were very informative. Based on them, we adjusted the list: airfields, hangar types and much more were added. The goal of this topic: to find objects that are most important for the map: they played a significant role in the Cold War, it can be a landmark for navigation (antennas, towers, etc.), quarries without which the territory does not look like itself, a warehouse or a base. Or maybe some landmark without which the city loses its appearance? The idea with the city of Mannheim and “Kalimandscharo” seemed interesting to us. If you previously wrote wishes, you can duplicate the link to the topic. Let me remind you that we are looking at the entire Wishlist section, and in this topic we want to collect what you think is necessary to release Phase 2, and based on the responses and likes we will determine what to do first.

  2. In MissionEditor (ME), there's a town/village list added to bulls eye panel. It helps mission makers and players quickly jump to the town/village on map without finding them with endless mouse wheel zoom-in/out version 1.2 (keep bullseye button in planner) version 1.1 (adjusted town list position) version 1.0 It's made by MisterOutofTime and uboats Features: by clicking the town/village name in the list, the ME map will instantly move to and center the town with zoom-in (Scale around 500m). by clicking the 'Reset FOV', the ME map still has the town as center but reset scale to 18km https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3345127/ (BTW: please don't blame me for making this small mod instead of developing J-8PP nullnull)

  4. I know mate, language barrier is a bummer, but it takes little in both directions, takes little for the many to translate your posts, and takes little for you to translate them for the many. And in any case, it's just polite to do as Romans do when you're in Rome, you know . Whatever it is, has there been any other recent info? I'm eager for the Corsair like I didn't remember any other recent module. Last ED's newsletter talked about Marianas WWII map being release candidate "in time for your Corsairs"… Makes sense they release at about the same time!!

  6. Awesome idea, thanks for your continuous work based on feedback from the community! Three to four things just from the top of my mind and in no particular order: 1) Hermannsdenmal in Teutoburg Forrest near Detmold https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermannsdenkmal That antenna in the background may or may not qualify on the timescale. 2) RAFG Harrier roadbase(s) (someone had made a thread about one near Detmold) 3) Communication Towers (not sure if the list is all encompassing, but it's a strter anyway) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Communication_towers_in_Germany https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kategorie:Deutsche_Funkturm Take this one as an example, which is close to Bückeburg (just left of the frame) and Rinteln (just to the right): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jakobsberg_Telecommunication_Tower 4) Kaiser Wilhelm Denkmal at Porta Westfalica (seen in pic above)

  10. I think we all should just be happy if they get the Corsair over the finish line.(which seems lie they might be doing sometime this year) we'll get to spend time crashing on the carrier. Trying to hit some Japanese tanks. I hope ED comes with infantry. As it would be very unsatisfactory if we never had the chance to bomb and strafe infantry. Or save some Marines. The island battles were mostly infantry battles. But that's for ED i think.

  13. -------UPDATE 250609 With changes to the landing gear code, it created an opportunity to add that functionality to the Systems page. Added three landing gear indicators and adjusted the countermeasures location on the system page along with a system message that is the lowest priority message that will be displayed. It will be superseded by any other system message. Minor change to the check list page to indicate which list is being displayed, though they are both the same currently. Adjusted missile code for improved accuracy That is not accurate. Follow the directions on the first post or included with the archive. The new model has new details and corrections. I've not had any issues with it. And the LO drop tank was created by Spino and heavily modified by me. The vertices are most certainly welded along the centerline. It's not two separate halfs. The texture I used to create the tank was derived from the IRST pod, as was the pylon. That said, do whatever you want.

  14. I was quite surprised not to find Bonn, the west german capital during the cold war phase already included in phase I of CW Germany. I hope it's included in phase II at least. Btw: I also do not see the "Hardthöhe" in Bonn, which was - and still is - the location of the german ministry of defense during CW time. It is the german equivalent of the pentagon which I guess was - and still is - a major target for Warshaw Pact forces.

  16. Yes, I think I know what the problem is. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. It didn't come up under testing for some reason. I can fix it right away but may take a couple of weeks for it to be released by E.D. John

  17. Is it too much to ask for, when you finish this Su-22, if you could make a MiG-23 with the same quality? And maybe also a Sea Harrier FRS1? If you manage it, you'll be our hero!

  18. Just my humble opinion, but if it was used as an option on the real AC why not make it available as an option on the DCS version??

  19. The F22 model is now included. I adjusted the directions accordingly. English is probably not your first language, but you had to scroll past this to download the mod: ***************************************************************************************************************************** --->F-22 WON'T LOAD, I CAN'T FLY IT.<--- IMPORTANT THERE IS A DOWNLOAD LINKED BELOW TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. THIS WILL HAVE TO BE REINSTALLLED EVERY TIME DCS IS UPDATED OR REPAIRED BECAUSE THE MODIFIED FILES WILL BE REPLACED. THIS WILL ALSO FAIL INTEGRITY CHECK ON MULTI-PLAYER SERVERS. READ THE GLOBAL FIX LINKED IMMEIDATELY BELOW THIS TEXT FOR MORE INFORMATION. *****************************************************************************************************************************

  20. OK, so I figured out the Hornet enough to taxi and launch. Tried the A4 on the Washington again. Shaking present. Changed plane to Hornet. Did several launches all with no shaking. Changed carrier to Roosevelt. Shaking returned. So it would seem that whatever fixes things on the Washington for the Hornet doesn't work for the A4.

  21. I’d prefer if they get their latest one in a flyable state first (aka pedal trim options and more manageable cockpit textures). Also, the Mi-24 still doesn’t have a manual and didn’t get a Mini-Update post in years…

Years of development don't matter either, because we've seen in the past how many projects that no one even remembered suddenly appear. ED continue show the C-130 ASC on 20xx and Beyond and on module release videos, the last was on Germany Cold War map. Enviado desde mi CPH2197 mediante Tapatalk

  25. I like this skin. However, please remove the excessive ambient occlusion, weathering and dirt on the inner side of the vertical stabs and on the wing/center pylons with the fake shadows on the external tanks. I repeating myself but I don't like the fake ambient-occlusion-shadows on the 10 years old texture template. (that time the shaders/shadows of the sim wasn't advanced, so I guess the model/texture developer added those exorbitant ambient-occlusion-shadows to fill this gap/deficiency.) Some dirt is ok on the bottom but the overall amount of dirt of the template on the tails, pylons, fuel tanks is looks bad/unrealistic IMHO. Seems the metal (shinny) engine-cover-parts at the bottom/top, front of the nozzles should be more reflective and less brownish especially if it represents a new/freshly painted aircraft. (needs changes on roughmet texture: mainly blue channel) One more things to consider: canopy: double-red rails at the opening (dark-red rail on the rear edge of the fix-part-windshield and on the front edge under/behind of the rain-blower-vent ) Thanks a lot delivery ceremony? : all got "double" red canopy rails USAF insignia a bit too high on the nose: pull a few pixel lower (height of the stripe approx): lower edge of lower white stripes/bars should sit on hinges of the side doors metal parts reflectivity is ok but too dirty/brownish here: it's a C variant but this looks right underneath: clean pylons and tails: canopy dark-red double rails:

  26. At Kobuleti the refueling and AWACS aircraft are spawned with the rear wheels on the front set of marker and front wheel at the turn indicator on the tarmac. this blocks the aircraft from taxing to runway. See attach photo. I would assume another row of cement behind the aircraft to make the turn. This is for the spots 01-21

  27. This is just not the case and is counter to how proportional navigation works. The lead points can possibly shift a wide amount yes, but the longer the range the lower the line of sight rates become, and by extension the commanded accelerations are proportionately lower, it's just basic geometry. You can watch it yourself with an aim-7. It will not be doing maximum performance turns at 25 miles. You're comically overstating how hard these missiles are turning in F-Poles, this is especially true for later generation high G capable ones. It's not going to be hitting anywhere near its maximum G capabilities until very late endgame and the aircraft is doing the right maneuvering. Even then it's rare that you see amraam's hitting 40G.

  29. Yes, basically what Dangerzone said. IDK how the ISPs are at your country, but here if you mention to them that you have to host some services for business/work or something like that, they give you no hassle and just remove you from CGN. They tend not to if you just complain about the gaming as the CGN is one way of solving the age old issue of lack of the IPv4 addresses and in their minds hosting game servers from your home is not high in their list of priorities.

  30. @Silhou Hey there, This problem still exists, almost 2 years after this post was made. It is very, very frustrating for our Carrier Air Wing, significantly delaying missions because of people having to takeoff, find out they have the bug, quit DCS, rejoin, restart the jet and try again. It really takes a lot of fun out of taking an F-14 from the boat (where it belongs) in MP. Hope you guys can find something.

  31. Likely because it's not a plug and play from one airframe to another, even on the real jets. ED does "just enough" to keep the A-10C II viable (how long have we been waiting on the in-cockpit pilot) so I wouldn't expect any additions. Heck we can't even get a simulated gateway to share network information with client Vipers or Hornets (but we can see AI viper & hornet network data last I checked) they're not going to invest the time to develop the Sniper for the A-10C.

  33. The Forrestal has a rough time besides the Supercarrier. Everyone who loves Naval/Fleet Operations will probably use the Supercarrier, while this incredible ship rots (digitally). A Heatblur-Eagle Dynamics cooperation with a Forrestal/Supercarrier Module would be the way to go. Maybe unrealistic, but in my opinion the only way this incredible module would get some use. Also a cold war era 'supercarrier' would be a great addition. And later a WWII Supercarrier. Don't know how difficult it is, to use the Supercarrier's deck crew code to get it working. I don't care about manned stations, but takeoff/landing operations is a must.

  34. I just had this happen to me for the first time. I tried spawning (hot start) on a super carrier, but the spawn didn't happen (you know this because you're still able to manipulate the free camera that hangs over a FARP). I chose the second slot (the spectator camera freezes), and I spawned in okay. Upon launch I almost plunged into the sea. The jet was not performing, even under full afterburner. Is it possible switching slots creates a duplicate, effectively doubling your weight (perhaps just doubling the weight of the stores, or fuel)? Duplication sometimes happens in DCS: Siamese Twins:

  37. The problem is that you're comparing current sims with something out of your imagination. If everyone thought like this, there would be no Falcon 1, 2, 3... Flanker, Lock on...etc, because no one would buy them. You can't beat imagination, because it doesn't rely on real life practicalities. If some dev group could snatch the whole market at once from BMS, DCS and others, they would already have done so. DCS W have a ton of value for the majority of customers, or there would be no community growth throughout the last years. Demand rises as well as curiosity given the growth of content creators. Today this sim is much larger and with a lot more quality than when it has begun when the MiG-21 was the shinny new thing and the cutting edge of immersion and nowadays everyone is screaming for it to be updated.

  39. Good morning all, Just like Creampie said (thank you) we do have a MiG-29 squadron (Авиабаза 1521, Мары - Центр боевого применения | Airbase 1521, Mary - Combat Operations Center) that trains and specialises in Fox 1 fights (we do know how to Fox 3 as well though). We are also the resident oppfor in a large multiplayer campaign. If anyone is interested in sharing the MiG-29 love feel free to pm me.

  42. LOL, that's hilarious! Illustrates perfectly what actual maintainers do in combat aviation. After our SpongBob Squarepants episode finishes up, let's do one showing how we fix sticky throttle levers with cake frosting from the mess. I think Jester should really be able to spread the cream, since he brings lunch. It would really elevate and promote HB's graphical decision here, in what otherwise is a brilliant thing. Nothing like doubling down on bad decisions, works just as well with Maintenance Chiefs as it does with LSO's. Enjoy your pronouns.

  43. Wish: A feature to temporarily hand over controls to the AI while in single player missions, using the radio comms menu. When told to "rejoin precontact" by a tanker, a menu option to allow the existing AI to take control of pitch, roll, yaw, and throttle to fly the jet to precontact position, contact position when cleared to do so, and to hold the jet at contact position until the player resumes control through the radio menu by selecting "Abort AI Control". When given directions to marshall on a radial by the supercarrier module, a menu option to allow the AI to take control of pitch, roll, yaw, and throttle to fly the jet to the marshall point, and orbit there, until player takes back control by selecting "Abort AI Control". When given directions by ATC to enter the pattern or fly a vector, a menu option to let the existing AI take control of pitch, roll, yaw, and throttle, fly the jet into the pattern, and even execute the landing and taxi to parking unless aborted by the player. These functions are already existing functions that the AI performs. This request is for an option in single player only, thus rendering no competitive advantage in multiplayer, and no impact on those who do not wish for this feature in their own game. The intent of this feature is to make the various campaigns available for purchase, many of which require holding at marshall points, flying the pattern, landing, refueling, and so on, more accessible to players with less frustration. DCS is a computer game and accommodation to facilitate enjoyment is an expected feature of computer games.
