  2. Great campaign so far! Well put together with a great story line, and I do feel like I’ve been flying some of the missions described in the Scouts Out book. Negatives I’ve found are that if you miss a trigger, all progress stops, and there doesn’t seem to be any failsafe in place to prompt you or keep the mission rolling. Reflected and Baltic Dragon do a good job in this regard. I also feel it’s not realistic to have to kill every soldier and destroy every vehicle in a group for the mission to process when the primary goal is only for a convoy to survive or make it to its destination for example. Some of the English dialogue phrasing and wording is a little off and sounds a little comical at times but I quickly got used to it. You can tell a lot of hours have been spent building the campaign, well done and thank you for sharing it with us. The Scouts Out Deadly accurate gunnery using the IZLID laser

  5. To me, the really funny part is to observe all the criticism when a developer, say ED, releases a new aircrat (Chinook) without finishing their previous ones (Mi-24P and AH-64) ... which I feel is totally deserved, while at the same time on this thread, other users clamor for exactly that: please Aerges, stop working on the Mirage F1 and deliver the F-104 right now ...

  7. Lucky you. Personally, I wouldn't trust ChatGPT to tell me the day of the week. It routinely makes stuff up. It's nothing but a next-word-predictor 'trained' by web-scraping humongous quantities of random dubiously-reliable 'data' from the internet.

  8. Exactly, so you can use the F1M pretty much anywhere you like. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the F-104C isn't anywhere near a believable flight model. It's thrust and lift performance are too good, the roll-response is way too little, the engine-response is way too bad and it's got systems issues all over the place. All of that is normal for a mod and it probably will at least partially be corrected in future iterations. It's not on par with my expectations for the Aerges 104. I don't think so. People who enjoy systems-depth will not be repelled by the mod being out before the module. If you're on the fence, you'll be able to use the trial system at some time and decide whether the diference is worth your cash or not. I'll buy the Aerges 104 right at launch. I'll most probably keep the 104C alongside the Aerges 104 - if it gets better. It fills a slightly different niche than the 104G and it's a 'nam bird.

  9. Now, how could Aerges predicted that the Germany map would come out? Nah, they won't even compare. Have you guys considered at all that the tech and knowledge developed in/through the F1 might be used to get the F-104 out sooner?

I have to use comfortable seat cushions and a heated vest to help me get through the day. Of course, meds help as well. It's been life-changing. Thanks Jack.

As such, I can’t actually bring myself to read what you’ve written. Just wanted you to know that I’m not accidentally going to ignore you. It really is deliberate. Hoping that things improve at your end!

  15. Hello, Actually, it isn't a newbie question ... the problem of where missions are stored is not well explained on the DCS manual and as a result not many users understand where to place new missions that they edit themselves or download from the Web. Let me attempt to clarify this subject a bit, but let's see a normal Mission first, as they are simpler than Training ones. The Viggen Module includes a few full Missions, they look like this on DCS: On the disk they are stored within the DCS main folder, like this: As the DCS main folder is meant only for official content, your custom missions should be placed on this other folder path: /Saved Games/DCS/Missions/ ... within DCS you find them on the "My Missions" section and look like this: On the disk, the corresponding folder would be: Note that I have created some sub-folders within "Missions", as over time I have collected literally hundreds of missions, so you do need to order them just like you do with any other document of your PC, so my Viggen missions are at /Missions/5 Cold War/AJS-37/ OK, now you see that you could store my training missions within this folder and fly them just like any standard full mission, however I provided this lua file just in case you would prefer to have these missions appear within the TRAINING menu of DCS. The Training missions do not have a "My Mission" section, they look like this: On the disk they are within the DCS program: The lessons.lua file provides the mission description and the order of the listing. If you use my lessons.lua file and store the missions on that same folder, they will "merge" with the stock training, and look like this: If you have both the Nevada Map and the Kola Map, be sure to copy first the Nevada files and afterwards the Kola ones. During the copy Windows will ask permission to replace the lessons.lua file, let it do the replacement. If you ever need to uninstall my training missions, you can simply run a DCS repair process, and let it look for "extra files", that will delete any non official files from the DCS program folder. Best regards, Eduardo

  18. Aerges has not delayed nothing, on fact continue the develop of your two modules but the F104G module has nothing to do with the Germany map by Ugra Media. On fact, Aerges Never was your plans release the F104 with the Ugra Media Germany map, and ED has not talking nothing about a complete module by Aerges to internal testing, or a preorder to release. Remember Aerges has not show a fully funtional F-104, only teasers on december 2024. That module surely need 1-2 years to release them. Aerges was very clear 7 months ago... Tasks on aerges: - Rebuild the M-1 Radar, detection and tracking. - Overhuld the external and carrier landing textures - improve the C101 and F1 posible failures and damage models. - Customize Force freeback and the colimated sight repeater con the F1BE - Component based simulation to improve phisical, logical and failures. - F-104 go to good progress, Flight model and basis systems are ready and funtional. Engine, electronics, hydraulic, control and armament systems, like to include an armament failure simulatios, work continue on remaing systems. From march by Vibora:

  19. The CWG map won't go anywhere and if anything, it's just going to be fleshed out even more during the next couple of months. In it's gurrent state, there's precisely one historical F-104G airbase on the whole playable map. Two, if you account for the short intermezzo of RCAF CF-104s at Zweibrücken. Maybe four if you account for some shorter USAF F-104C detachments in the early 60s. The mod's nice. It's nowhere near to what Aerges has demonstrated as their quality and devotion to modelling a module in the past (C-101) and present (Mirage F1), though. Aerges has shown they'll go the extra mile for user requests and they have demonstrated ongoing support for multiple sub-variants of their modules (two in the C-101, four for the F1). The F1M is not going to change the world or anybody's life. It's going to e out of place in A-A and also A-G for it's time frame (late 90s). It is, however, going to be a nice round-off and it'll be the first modernized cold-war module in DCS. All the thech developed into the F1M (including the radar-revamp) will be beneficiary to the 104, which will proably also come in several variants. What kinds of operational scenarios a module fits in, is entirely up to the the user.

  31. This would help a lot and at least you can fly and land only to find you have 80% score for missing 3 trucks but passed because you accomplished the main objective. Currently if you turn immediately with the Blackhawk in mission 2, you miss the turnpoint trigger by a few feet breaking the rest of mission there after. As Zarma says, in Mission 3, if there is just one unit remaining of the group, the mission wont progress until its destroyed even though the convoy is safe an on its way. It would be nice to fly the rest of the mission, have the music play and land but receive a lower score for not destroying all the units. Thanks for taking onboard our feedback, looking forward to the rest of the campaign.

It's always funny to see how people argue and fight here (and in other threads throughout the forum) about subjects that have already been decided and finalised, apparently in the hope of changing the developers' decision. 35. Dear DCS World Developers, In the Mission Editor, when plotting flight plans, please consider adding a feature to automatically calculate the aircraft's turn arc based on set speed and relevant factors (e.g., aircraft performance, G-limits). This would enhance realism and streamline mission planning. Thank you!

  36. Definitely agreed. Personally, I'd much rather EWR sites be in a state suitable for placing functional units on - even if that means radomes aren't present (leaving a flat surface, be it a tower/pedestal whatever). Radomes can always be present as a static object that can then be placed over the top (something that's already possible as-is - see the spoiler of this post for a rather crude example). Static templates can then be used to quickly load an EWR network, allowing it to be reused in missions. I really do not see the point of adding decorative EWR sites, when they are and should have a relevant gameplay element and should tangibly affect air combat. It means their suitable for eye-candy and nothing else (and deleting them via the scenery object remove zone usually causes collateral damage and, in cases where EWR's are mounted on towers, result in having a degraded LOS and/or radar horizon). Doing it the way I've set out would allow them to be a tangible gameplay element while providing eye-candy. Radars that are also present as non-functional map objects should also absolutely be made into functional ground units. Especially those that have model files like any other ground unit (in that they are in the right format, are appropriately animated and have a destroyed model), that have been in the game for over 12 years at this point, and are incredible prolific, staple Cold War GCI/EW radars *hint hint* P-37 and PRV-11.

  38. What makes you think that it would require much time? At present, they have a changing sea state. Just that it’s set directly by the wind. All that’s needed basically speaking is an option to set it separately to the wind setting. While I agree with you with the other stuff, with this we’re not exactly asking for a new feature, but more just an alternative way to set an already existing feature. As such, I don’t see any performance issues with it, or significant development required either. If anything, I suspect it’d be one of those relatively simple things to implement that gives another showpiece to show the evolution of DCS. Decent return on investment really.

  39. This would be a tough nut to crack, as - the way that you phrase it - the objective is intentionally insufficiently defined. I think what you are looking for is a mission generator that either randomly picks 3 types of missions from a set of e.g. 12, and assembles those three around you and leaves it up to you which one to go after when you discover it. This mission has a limited 'shelf life', as when the mission is created, DCS currently has very little means to randomize the mission itself. Another approach would be to create a mission that offers all (or a good portion) of the missions that you are interested in, randomizes them for replay-ability and allows the pilot to pick whatever they like. These missions already exist - not from ED, but from mission authors who post their missions on ED's User Files. The type of mission usually is called a 'sandbox' or similar. So, yeah, I'd love if there was a more flexible, more randomized mission 'configurator' that could randomly pull down some mission types around you. I wouldn't hold my breath though, as the kind people at ED have shown their very limited abilities in content creation tools with that QAG thing that IMHO can't do anything right. WRT the living, breathing world, you would again need to resort to third party tools (civil air traffic etc), and be mindful of the fact that each and every moving part will draw processor cycles. So if you populate all airfields, your CPUs may crumble from that load alone. To curtail this, you'd need to create a living bubble around your base of operation. I agree that DCS's Mission Editor should be able to place 'bubbles of activity' that automatically provide that living, breathing semblance of life, while not having it outside to calm your CPU's nerves.

  42. The multiplayer gear issue is not an easy fix. We absolutely had no issues in MP before testing began. When testing started, there were still no issues, even right up to the final build at release. Not every bug will be seen and/or created until mass (mass as in 100-1000 users) tests occur sometimes.

  44. but not any from Aerges .. they even redid their first Module with a fully reworked Flight Model and as a plus added a second version of it, the C-101CC, all free for their current owners, and did all of it before releasing their second Module ... a true example for other developers. Wonder how you can be sure of that, any users survey? .. I like cold war birds and thus I'm sure to purchase the F-104, but the Mirage F1 has a lot going for it: 4 versions including a two seater, a more modern radar and better air-ground capability, so I wouldn't bet that the F-104 would sell in larger quantities. According to the Spudknocker's 2024 survey the Mirage F1 was owned by 20% of the users that participated on that survey (which has probably a MP bias to it). Everyone can have his own opinion, but I'm really glad that Aviodev is opting for finishing their current Module first, before focusing on the next. Anyway, I'm sure they are advancing with the 104 in parallel, so I truly expect that the 104 will appear not too long after the Mirage F1M. Eduardo
