[REPORTED] FLIR Freeze/Stutter when masked.
Ithronwise replied to Focha's topic in Problems and Bugs

if you open the model in the MV, you will notice that the texture cockpit.dds is loaded from the Su-57. I don't know why CLS uses a common name for its texture and hasn't added an addition so that the texture is only loaded with the superbug. the fourth picture has nothing to do with the wrong texture, as this only affects the exterior model. there are many mods with the same problem with a texture that uses the common name Glass. there are 3 mods that have the texture with the same name cockpit.dds. Su-57 Feleron, MB-339PAN and Eurofighter Typhoon. whereby the texture cockpit.dds is not assigned in the Eurofighter Typhoon and can be deleted from the zip in the folder cockpit/textures/Cockpit_Textures.zip. Since the Su-57 and the MB-339PAN appeared before the CLS, I recommend CLS to rename its texture. That's not correct. The cockpit.dds is missing in the current version of the CJS Superhornet mod. Therefore it loads a cockpit.dds from another mod. I don't have the Su-57 mod and I had a missing texture issue at the cockpit frame (green pixel texture) instead of the light blue one. As soon I copied the cockpit.dds from the old Superhornet version 1.8.2 into the Textures folder the issue was gone. So, please don't post incorrect information.

3rd party antivirus programs are snakeoil that causes only trouble in most cases (and slows down your system). For private use the Windows Defender is absolutely enough and you don't need any other antivirus programs. And the best antivirus program is working between your ears anyway. If this fails, no existing antivirus program can protect your system from all the bad stuff out there.

The files are overwritten by modified versions that contain additional information/functions for the three Super Hornet variants. The information/functions for the Legacy Hornet remain untouched. So, you can use Super Hornet and Legacy Hornet at the same time and also the slot for the Legacy Hornet in the Mission Editor isn't changed anymore, so Legacy Hornet missions are working as intended without modifications.

Flight Model & Avionics Predicament
Ithronwise replied to Roger Hedrick's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
The last thread where you asked for changing the flight model (which is property of ED as I already wrote in that thread) was deleted because trying to get information about how to get access to the flight model was a violation of licence rights. If ED don't want anyone but themselves to change their flight models, then you can't go over it. The flight models of all official modules (and also of the standalone community mods) are the result of years of hard work, research and testing. All these things cost a lot of money and (in case of ED and the 3rd party developers) the only way to get this money back (to pay their employees for example) is to sell modules based on these flight models. If they would give information about their flight models to everyone who asks for it, they would give away the basis of their business and would be bankrupt very soon. -
Advantage: with fuel tanks you can carry more loadout. A/G: Legacy Hornet: 2x AIM-9M/X, 4x GBU-12/GBU-38, 3x Fuel tanks, 1x ATFLIR, 1x AIM-120B/C Super Hornet: 2x AIM-9M/X, 6x GBU-12/GBU-38, 3x Fuel tanks, 1x ATFLIR A/A: Legacy Hornet: 2x AIM-9M/X, 6x AIM-120B/C, 3x Fuel tanks Super Hornet: 2x AIM-9M/X, 7x AIM-120B/C, 3x Fuel tanks Disadvantage: the inner wing pylons of the Super Hornet can carry a lot of weapons but cannot drop/fire them, so, this stations should only be used for fuel tanks, and the right fuselage station isn't functional (therefore the uneven number of AMRAAMs in the example above)

The mode comes with two command line scripts that allows you to switch from the Super Hornet pylon config to the Legacy Hornet pylon config and back (means both fuselage stations are fully functional, both outer wing pylons are not useable but still visible).

And that shows that you haven't understood how it works. You don't have to pay for the mod if you don't want to. Just put a 0 in the line for the price and you get it for free. Other users who like the mod and know exactly how much hard work it is to make a mod of this quality have no problem giving the developers some money. What's deceptive about that? The only deceptive attitude comes from you with your expectation that other people's hard work must always be free for you.

Did you have created a mission with one of the Super Hornet versions (F/A-18E, F/A-18F or EA-18G)? The Super Hornet mod doesn't replace the Legacy Hornet anymore. So if you load an F/A-18C mission you will get the F/A-18C. If you want the Super Hornet you have to change the aircraft in this mission from F/A-18C to F/A-18E/F or EA-18G in the Mission Editor.

F-22A Raptor mod enhancement mod
Ithronwise replied to Nightstorm's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Not all, only those based on FC3. Standalone mods like A-4E-C, UH-60L, OV-10A, T-45C and VSN F-4B seems not to be affected. And mods based on full fidelity modules like the CJS Super Hornet or the IDF Mods Project F-16I SUFA are working, too. -

fixed AMD Adrenalin 22.12.1+ causes Mission Editor to crash
Ithronwise replied to SOAR's topic in Game Crash
I also can confirm that. No crashes anymore in ST and MT (I tested both with the missions in this thread), still on Adrenalin 22.11.2 -
fixed AMD Adrenalin 22.12.1+ causes Mission Editor to crash
Ithronwise replied to SOAR's topic in Game Crash
I can confirm that. And in this mission the VRAM workload was only 11064 MB, GPU workload was 20%, CPU workload was 9% and RAM workload was 23.1 GB when it crashed. -
fixed AMD Adrenalin 22.12.1+ causes Mission Editor to crash
Ithronwise replied to SOAR's topic in Game Crash
I have tried to provoke this issue by building a mission with a large number of all kind of units (2187 in all) but I had no luck (see screenshot). The ME becomes a little laggy but no flickering, no crash. I have the mission attached (Attention, it is a nonsense mission just for testing, so don't try to play it, just load it in the ME). The file size is surprisingly small compared to the both problematic missions posted earlier in this thread. But this cannot be the reason because I have a very complex mission with a lot of trigger actions in it that is twice as large as these both. So, I have no glue. Maybe it is a special unit that I haven't used in my missions yet or it is a combination between an unit and some waypoint or trigger actions, I don't know. Could someone of the affected users test the attached mission in the ME? Normally it shouldn't cause any problems. Flickering Crash Test.miz -
fixed AMD Adrenalin 22.12.1+ causes Mission Editor to crash
Ithronwise replied to SOAR's topic in Game Crash
How many units do you have in your mission? I have a lot of missions with 400 to 700 units (static and non-static) and never had this issue. Only with the two missions from this thread I saw this issue for the very first time and on both missions the VRAM was full (16384 MB) in the Mission Editor. -
fixed AMD Adrenalin 22.12.1+ causes Mission Editor to crash
Ithronwise replied to SOAR's topic in Game Crash
Thank you @Flappie. I can confirm this issue in both missions (Operation Clear Field Escalation and Operation Scarlet Down). The icons in the ME start flickering and then DCS crashes to the desktop without an error message. I have never seen this in my missions, but I also didn't have that many units in them. I think it could be a VRAM problem because in both missions the VRAM workload of my 6800XT is 100% in the ME. -
RCS changes for mods?
Ithronwise replied to Roger Hedrick's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Ok, thanks for the information. So, at least RCS (and maybe some other values) are also working in the realistic flight model. I played around a little with most of these values in the last weeks to help the developers to solve some annoying issues that only affected the AI-controlled Super Hornets and so I found, that the most values there are only effective for the AI. No, unfortunately (or understandably because ED has invested a lot of time and work in this flight model) not. It is encrypted. The only way would be to write an own flight model.- 12 replies

fixed AMD Adrenalin 22.12.1+ causes Mission Editor to crash
Ithronwise replied to SOAR's topic in Game Crash
@313 SQN JD Could you share a typical mission file where you face this issue? That could help to find out, what is going wrong. As I wrote I don't have this issue but maybe I just don't use the same units, waypoint actions or trigger actions as you or the other affected users in my missions. -
RCS changes for mods?
Ithronwise replied to Roger Hedrick's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Unfortunately, these values are only affecting the AI-controlled Super Hornets, because the lua files in the CoreMods folder are containing simplified flight model values for the AI. The values for the realistic flight model, used by the player-controlled Super Hornets are hardcoded and encrypted in the FA-18C.dll in Mods\FA-18C\bin and are the same as for the official F/A-18C module. By the way, the RCS value for the Super Hornet variants in the luas of the CoreMods\FA-18C folder are already fitted, because the original value is 7.- 12 replies

fixed AMD Adrenalin 22.12.1+ causes Mission Editor to crash
Ithronwise replied to SOAR's topic in Game Crash
I wonder why this doesn't happen to me. Is it the driver? Has someone of the affected users tried a rollback to 22.11.2? -
fixed AMD Adrenalin 22.12.1+ causes Mission Editor to crash
Ithronwise replied to SOAR's topic in Game Crash
Strange. I build complex missions in the ME, too but couldn't (fortunately) see this issue yet. I also have an AMD + AMD system (AMD Ryzen 3800X + ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 6800 XT). I am still on Adrenalin 22.11.2. Maybe I don't use the "right" units or trigger actions? Has someone of the affected users an example mission to share? -
