Speaking off is there a way of picking the spawn location? Does the placed airraft slot order matter? I remember spawning in different spots on the old Stennis.

 You can block the spawn points with static objects and leave the points you want to use free of them.

Curious, does anyone else find the FLOLS hard to see on the Forrestal?  I only was able to try one quick look at it, but the ship was steaming north at noon; I just swapped it out for another boat in a carrier training mission and the SC ball is plenty visible in those lighting conditions, but I couldn't really make it out on Forrestal until basically at the ramp. 

Maybe something odd with shaders on my setup?  Other than that, she's beautiful ;).

In VR it´s unusable. It´s like a big christmas tree. Visible at +/-4nm from port side...

Sure, but I simply prefer Intruders 🙂 So my comment wasn't referring to realism, but to personal preference: I think they look better and were arguably a better bomb truck.

Thank you for the heads-up, believe it or not never noticed it was also "usable"... but it is.

( Thought that in DCS actually only the John C. Stennis and the Forrestal were able to do take-off and landing ops, and the other available Carriers were mere static objects or something... )

 

I've experimented already, and even without the respective catapult shuttle textures, it is possible to also take-off in the USS Carl Vinson...

The Intruders and Hornets co-existed for a long time before they were finally replaced.  The Hornets initially replaced the A-7s, with the last A7s going away just after ODS.  So a Hornet/Intruder flight deck is perfect acceptable (unless you're talking about CVW-2's All Grumman Air Wing).
