  2. DOWNLOAD Drop in "Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\tech" They're all prefixed with "RAP". There are 2 variants for each loco/carriage: one for use on the Syria and Persian Gulf map, one for the Caucasus and NTTR. Trains don't seem to work on the South Atlantic map. Not tested on Normandy or The Channel. CONTENT:

  3. I finally bought some from this man selling it from his truck. It's so cold outside, I had to throw some in the fireplace to warm the house up! Now that my hands are now longer numb, and i can type, I cannot express how excited I am that the F15E is soon to become a reality. I never "pre-order" anything, because it doesn't make any logical sense to do so. For the first time ever, I'm going to pre-order this. Just because. I'm really looking forward to it.

  5. Thanks for the info. Are they sunk into the ground? That's why I provided 2 variants. On the Syria map the tracks are slightly elevated, if you place one of the default train it will ride at ground level and will appear sunk into the tracks. On the Caucasus and NTTR map the tracks are at ground level And on the Persian Gulf map the track are also elevated. A bit higher than on the Syria map so the train will appear slightly sunk into the tracks. @jonsky7Thank you. No plans for WWII stuff at the moment. Maybe if I find suitable 3D models on sketchfab. @Presidium Thanks! The wagons textures are pretty nice indeed, all credit goes to the original author. I'm pretty sure 95% of ED's staff could do what I do and since they don't have a physical office anymore they don't even need a coffee boy

  6. One thing I’d like to add is I got to talk with one of our pilots for the F-4D that I help work on, and asked about refueling. He flew both the F-4 and F-16 during his Air Force career. He mentioned that between the two, the F-4 was more difficult. One of the reasons being is that the refuel socket pops up out of the airframe, which he said you had to fly more precisely than later aircraft with the recessed slipway door.

  7. Hi The Normandy2 map is nearing completion. The development team would like to thank the participants of the DCS Forum for their great interest in the project and for their active participation in the discussion of the first results shown last fall. On the map added the original airfield Orly and standart airfields Stoney Cross, Lymington, Odiham, Deadland, Friston, Amiens-Glisy, Poix, Ronai, which were important for this theater. The total number of airfields will be 65. In recent months, considerable effort has been devoted to the task of streamlining the project, and a great deal of work has been done to adjust the color scheme of the whitewashed component parts of the project - buildings, fields, and trees. Much attention was paid to the original objects of Paris and London, including famous historical monuments. Transport and military infrastructure have been worked out in detail. Original objects Airfields (Thanks to the guys from the forum, they made the changes that were possible) What time is it now?

  13. Yeah BUMP! I've pretty much quit playing DCS for now due to this paticular bug and the lack of improvement in AIM 120s over the past few years.

  15. Here is my 4th mission for the F-4B/C I will now edit a similar one but for Carrier launch, and then share the set at User Files. I want to do a few for weapons training too, but I'm waiting a bit for a more updated version of this F4 Mod Greetings

  16. Okay but not everyone runs 3090ti and 4090s, quite the contrary. Razbam needs to realize there is an issue. I get great framerates on every map except SA. Even marianas is alot better. The answer here is not get a 1000usd gpu, it is optimize the map so that the norm can play it.

  17. The issue with any Northern European map will be the sheer density of objects; not only are the population centres more tightly packed but the amount of foliage is several orders of magnitude more dense with not only many woods but many many many miles of hedge lines; why do you think many of our existing maps are in desert areas? It’s because computationally they are much less resource hungry to develop and run. Because of this the European maps we do have cover much less area than their desert counterparts. A whole Germany map is I suspect beyond the engine to support currently, though it could well be broken up into several useful areas: 1. Western Frontier WW2 including Dutch and Belgian borders 2. Eastern Frontier WW2 including Berlin, the Seelow Heights and Polish border 3. Fulda Gap Cold War

  18. Added the Leading Edge and Panel Gap Filler / Putty similar to ME 262 pics in RLM 99 It also breaks up the overal metal chipping a bit that i still need to tone down a bit. Small test of JG.4 tailband and insignia. Started to block out of the inside parts like flaps, gearwells, scoops, intakes, cabels etc. Bit tedious since i have to locate where they are on the map and some parts simply are overlapping.... which causes some inconvenient oddities... Added wood texture for some access panels as an option. However, i hope i can start workin on the roughmats soon.

  19. @MAESTR0 Thanks for the working update...it's huge for an eager community waiting for information. I would comment on 2 things...1) the color as mentioned already and 2) trees on the airfields ... please get rid of trees on the big open airfield and inside taxi ways (between taxiways and runways) on the fields. Many folks sometimes take off and land into the wind and do not use a designated formal 'runway' in all cases. Trees were a real headache in N1 map .... Good luck with the rest of the development. S!

  21. Received my MFD earlier this week. Have it now in place and configured for use as an MFD in the Apache, and also as a AMPD on the F18. Living in the UK, we have an import tax level that isn't applied for the cost of a single MFD, which is rather nice. On top of that, I wanted to try it out before potentially stumping up for another. Thoughts: - Came fairly promptly and well boxed - Manual is just two pages (in English), and that's enough - Config is basically plug it in, and press a few buttons. Took me under a min, for the basics, followed by the mapping within DCS by aircraft - It's big enough to allow mounting of a TM MFD inside, and still having room to run the TM USB cable around - As already mentioned, buttons are MUCH more tactile, with a definitive click to it, unlike the Cougar MFDs In short, I'm a very happy bunny. No, it's not cheap, but does feel very solid and makes the TM units look like toys in comparison. Happily recommended.

  22. I hope this isn't the go to saturation / contrast the dev is going for. I like the original screenshot more. @MAESTR0 Is this a damage model for the airfields or is it one of the permanently destroyed ones?
    3 points
  23. I am going to buy this map for sure, but I still don't like the colors and the contrast of the textures. It looks cartoonish. In my opinion the colors should be less saturated and increase the contrast. It should look like this image.

  24. Agree .. it's a real shame that 18 months after the Module first appeared it still has not got a proper manual, bad point for ED. While we wait for ED to solve this, I suggest giving Chuck's Guide a read .. was updated last month and at almost 500 pages it covers all aspects of the Hind, Chuck

  26. This is an exceptionally unrealistic projection at present. We're getting close. Soon we'll have poured two years of very hard work into the Phantom and thus we're rapidly approaching completion. There will be some gaps between releases as this is something that all parties feel is good, but the development or release schedule on a macro level is not influenced by the 15E. Put simply, and with all due respect, we do our own thing and don't really care much about other third parties. I wouldn't even say we consider other releases quite as competitors, as the rising tide raises all boats in DCS. In the end, our release and development schedule is dictated by quality first and fiscal responsibilities second. Exact release day, seasonal timing or other release deconfliction are a distant third.

  27. Done! Guys I have updated the Harpoon script on the USS Bowen. Version 1.0.1 can be downloaded on page one of the forum. If your interested to know what I have been working on. I'm re-working the Aquitaine Class Frigate and working on the Sirocco Class LPD. Foudre - France, Sargento Aldea -Chile and Bahia-Brazil. There will be 3 liveries. The Aquitaine Class French Frigate has been updated to combat the new Chinese and Russian threats in DCS. Thanks to CurrentHill!! He has given me more insights into modeling and making the DCS AI Warships more powerful. I'm also working on the Los Angeles Class Submarine. So what's new is you have to determine when the submarines will submerge and surface via waypoints now. The auto submerge feature has been removed. Not sure if it will be reprogrammed or not.

  29. Fun little update, was experimenting with the UFC and was able to get custom characters to appear without SimApp Pro or DCS. Here is an example of "HI" being shown in window 1. Possible applications of this include showing data for other modules on these displays such as altitude when flying the Huey, ODU in the Harrier, Gun count left in MIG 21, etc. This would require some extra steps(export lua script + an application to convert lua data into custom UFC data). It is also possible to control other "feedback" related functions on other Winwing devices such as backlight brightness, button lights, stick vibration, and now LCD displays. I have nothing concrete to share, just a idea if others want to explore and add on. If anyone has any questions let me know and I can share what I have learned so far. I used HDD USB Monitor to capture the data sent from SimApp Pro to the UFC to help understand what data the UFC requires for certain actions. I then used C++ and `hidapi` to write data to the UFC as seen below.

  31. When I look at photos of France on my monitor, the color of the grass is completely normal. Like for example here. But on the same monitor on the map "Normandy" and it also seems "Normandy 2" grass and trees of a strange unrealistic color and texture. As in this screenshot I understand that the grass can be a little lighter and a little darker. But on the map, the trees and grass are too much unnatural now. I really hope it will be improved, I am very tired of trying to get a normal image on the monitor.

  32. I've come to enjoy using the Mission Editor almost as much as I have flying planes. Being a Cold War guy, the lack of alternate aircraft to the modernized E-2/E-3/A-50 is a bit of a bummer. Especially with the phabulous Phantom rapidly approaching. So, my humble request is for these two beauties to be implemented: EC-121 Warning Star Tu-126 Ideally these would have appropriately reduced capabilities from the more modern AWACS that we currently have modelled. I realize that the Tu-126 was a very limited platform with poor look-down capability over land compared to the EC-121. Soviet-era RedFor problems.... Worst case scenario, I'd happily take these as skins/alternate models for the E-2D, and handwave the superior capabilities as being really, really good controllers on board bouncing the radar off of some conveniently placed swamp gas. Thanks!

  34. I had exactly the same question when video was released. It is not US base, US map from Summer 1945 does not show any base there. IMHO, it is not precisely placed 2nd Japanese airfield on Guam. North Field (later US Agana? ). But it is only my guess according to this map ...

  35. Edit: Find it Change this settings under ABRIS-MENU-OPTION-MAIN from AUTO to USER,both the flight path history line and flight time timer will reset,if you leave it to user the line and timer will immediately start counting/drawing,or you can change it back to AUTO,then they will restart conunting/drawing again once your aircarft start moving. Hope you can find this useful.

  38. That's a really good question! If you fail a mission (don't complete) and you exit, the DCS campaign engine won't let you pick up from the last phase you started. It's too simplistic for that. BUT: you can always go to the campaign's folder, open the mission (exercise) you last started, and go from there. Once you complete, you go to the DCS campaign menu and skip the mission to get to the next one. I never really cared about campaign scores, the results that matter are your grades, but you'll get them anyway, and you record those outside of DCS in your excel. If you fly without time acceleration, and you don't retry any of the tasks, they're around 1,5 hours tops. Best of luck with the campaign, it's for sure a "no bullsh*t" training, it wasn't designed to please the average DCS player, it was designed to replicate the real world F-14 RAG as accurately as possible. You'll learn a lot for sure!

  41. Since DCS is headbutting in currently secret aircraft in modern day. Looking backwards is probably better. Not only the "hight of the cold war" either but 80s and early 90s.

  42. Actually, I agree, VR violent deaths are pretty jarring, I often jump if I am not expecting it and its not because the missile hit unexpectedly, its being moved to an exterior view and the volume increase. I wouldn't mind the inverse of the current death, in that it was managed by a volume change and fade of the screen instead of the 'spectators dump'. Ejections are pretty good actually in VR, I think it could be massively improved by a little masque and G pull effect. I think there are already WW2 effects for burning and such which I found awesome, I have to be honest I completely agree that this could be an area where a little improvement would go a long way.

  43. Шел 2023й... своеобразная часть комьюнити DCS продолжала просить подписку, как в свинорылых MMO которые не буду называть. Воистину, люди на территории бывшего СНГ сами же хотят страдать, платить и потом ныть про это.
