USNS Comfort (T-AH-20) is a Mercy-class hospital ship of the United States Navy. Comfort's duties include providing emergency, on-site care for U.S. combatant forces deployed in war or other operations. Operated by the Military Sealift Command, Comfort provides rapid, flexible, and mobile medical and surgical services to support Marine Corps Air-Ground Task Forces and Army and Air Force units deployed ashore, and naval amphibious task forces and battle forces afloat. Secondarily, she provides mobile surgical hospital service for use by appropriate U.S. government agencies in disaster or humanitarian relief or limited humanitarian care incidents to these missions or peacetime military operations. Comfort is more advanced than a field hospital but less capable than a traditional hospital on land.

And you made the right decision...the F1 is just about to become polished...being more than a "DCS year" old you can expect to see constant changes in the weeks to come. Currently, I guess that the main focus is on the radar, the INS and certainly bringing the F1BE out. Which actually shouldn´t be too long from now, by the way. Also, a few other systems like the Phimat should be close to completion. So yeah, if you want to fly something really special and exotic, you just can´t go wrong with the F1.

  9. Didnt they call the F-16 Viper partialy as a reference to Battlestar Galactica? Seems to fit the kind of humor Jester shows pretty well. Top Gun was also a huge cultural influence when it came to planes. Idk why you think those jokes are a reddit thing, the average redditor doesnt got much humor. Is a bit weird to get so annoyed by jokes imo.

  12. Thanks to Beldin for allowing me test of the FORD class. So far this is great! I've got Moose and Airboss working for automated carrier cyclic ops. Attached for others is the modified MOOSE.lua base script and the test Airboss script for CVN-78 (just the Ford so far I'll add the others in next) To use: Create a mission. Add the Moose and Airboss scripts in the ME as Mission Start triggers (Moose first), add CVN-78 and 3 Late Activated airframes (placed anywhere, dosnt matter for late activated) with a start time of 10:20, weather is up to you as the ship will begin it's turn into wind about 10:25 for a 10:30 cycle: 1. E2D : Group name Wizard, and give it the callsign Wizard too 2. S3B (Or even better the F/A-18E mod tanker) :Group name CVNTanker 3: SH60 or UH60: Group name CVNRescue Happy CQ Important : Group name AND ship name for Airboss to work is CVN-78 AirbossCombo_CVN78_Test1.luaMoose2719FORDNoWO.lua

  13. BREAKING NEWS! The Admiral has SOLVED the FPS LOST ISSUE! I went back to the old-school way of how we created the AI Ship Collision models. Lately, I have been creating the collision model as just one object. So I used the Fitzgerald as a test platform. The flight deck collision is a separate object. Now DCS is seeing the flight deck as a separate object instead of seeing the entire ship as a collision model. Check the top left corner of the photo below. Prior to me splitting the collision model the FPS was as low as 10. SOLVED!! I will rework the Lewis Puller Collision model and give you all feedback. Right now I get an FPS of 11 of the Lewis Puller. Thanks, Gogi12. So now the Adams Class destroyer is tied with the Sovremenny Class Destroyer.

  14. My big brother died in June at the age of 51 after a year long courageous struggle against AML. His loss has rocked me to my core and I've been fluctuating between being in denial, filled with rage, desperate, anxious and deeply sad. I've suffered tremendous loss before. Friends, comrades, my father...nothing has hit me like the loss of my brother. I'm haunted by the memories of past times and crushed by the loss of future hopes and dreams. My grief has stripped me of all desire to fly like never before. I think about climbing into my rig to take flight, but I cannot find the desire, motivation or excitement that I once had. While my love for DCS will never subside, my passion for it seems to be at its lowest ebb and I've been flying since the Flanker and earliest of LOMAC days. I hope this is temporary and is only a symptom of my general lack of focus and apathy toward pretty much everything in the world. I wonder how long I'll be adrift like this. I'm not sure why I'm posting this. Maybe I just need to vent? Maybe there is someone else out there feeling as lost and hopeless as I am? Maybe some of you will find this dark road I am on familiar?

  17. Just to clarify, the weight ratings in the mission editor are based on structural limitations, not performance limitations. If the aircraft is loaded to 20,000 pounds, that is below the maximum gross weight the aircraft is structurally rated for, but that does not mean the aircraft has sufficient power-to-weight ratio to carry such a payload. Even if it can, it may not be able to maintain a hover until it burns off fuel or expends munitions.

It can be applied to other modules. F-15C over so many years gets 500+ user files, and the F-15E already gets close to 200 in weeks. The hype and the enthusiasm for FF way exceeds that of the FC3 counterparts. Conclusion: People like Full fidelity way more than FC3 that they make more things on their own, be it campaigns, liveries, anything. So as a mission desigher, you should know full fidelity modules will have a way larger audience. Regarding the A-10, make missions for the A-10C2 to maximize the payback of your effort.

Знакомый летчик так сказал - если мониторы и трекиры это прям игрушка-игрушка, то в VR уже что-то отдаленно навевающее на настоящие ощущения и поведение в кабине. А так каждый сам выбирает что хочет получить от DCS. На текущем этапе развития все равно будут компромиссы, во всех случаях. Но считаю попробовать VR стоит всем.

This is how it looks: Installation should be self-explanatory. Unzip and copy both files to your existing livery mod folder (<your DCS folder>\Mods\aircraft\AJS37\Liveries\AJS37cockpit\English).   30. Developing DCS: F-4E has been a uniquely challenging experience, as we've undertaken a complete rewrite of our entire technology base in order to increase fidelity, realism and stability. Approaching every facet of the F-4E through the lens of physical modelling - beyond anything we've done before - has been a core tenet of the first of our next generation aircraft, and while this has meant a more difficult and longer development journey than expected, we're super excited about what this means for the future of Heatblur and our aircraft. One key element that has been directly relevant to the F-14 too, has been the RWR (or RHAW). In 2019, we broke new ground through our simulation of the ALR-67 RWR in the F-14. For the early -A and its ALR-45, we've wanted to go a step further, and developing the ALR-46 for the F-4E was a great opportunity to leverage our latest technologies in a way applicable to both aircraft. After a few tough iterations, which have made delivering the early -A take longer than expected, we’re excited to finally be completing the major elements of our new, next generation RWR model! Our work has primarily revolved around creating a new signal environment model, which will far more accurately inform the RWR and other sensor devices about various emitters in the world. This model enhances the existing radar warning receiver tools of DCS by performing a simulation of each of the radars in the game to produce their signal at the point of the aircraft. Each radar has information defined in a schema, some examples being: • Antenna Gain • Antenna Speed • Carrier Frequency • Pulse Repetition Frequency (Search and Track) • Peak Power • Search Pattern (if it has one) • Tracking Pattern (whether the radar is conscanning, mono-pulse, or sweeping like the fan song for example). • Beam width and height. This simulation happens only when the radar warning receiver is being irradiated by a given radar and requires no additional information from DCS to be synchronized between modules that use this system. Further simulation includes everything from antennas and their placement, bands and associated processing (including e.g. slow signal processing in dense signal environments) and track correlation for multiple pings and associated emitter identification tables. And perhaps best of all, together with our partners at Eagle Dynamics, we hope to contribute our simulation of the signal environment and associated schema to become a core part of DCS, making it available to both first and third party developers for use and extension. A rising tide raises all boats, and we’re excited to contribute to the core platform in a way that will be beneficial for the EM environment and RWRs’ across the entire simulation. Finally; with this new model in place, we can begin finalizing features for the ALR-45 in the early -A, in particular the very accurate and important sound synthesis, and this is also one of the final building blocks to fall into place for completion of our upcoming DCS: F-4E!   33. Пробовал. Причем купил шлем. То есть ограничений в использовании не было. Но мне не понравилось. Так то конечно это интересная штука. Новые эмоции , ощущения ... как там говорят за бугром - Экспириенс. Но все это хорошо, когда чуть- чуть . Мелкими порциями. Летать в VR длительно и постоянно - Нет ! спасибо большое. Мозг довольно быстро привыкает к этой реальности и уже все ощущения затупляются до обычных мониторовских. Но геморроя с этим VR - полной ложкой. Вечно какие то грабли с настройками. То работает , то не работает. Вагон различный костылей, модов... Сидеть с коробкой на лице, будучи полностью оторванным от реального мира - такое себе удовольствие. Я даже наушники не очень люблю, но вынужден в них находится из за тракира. А тут еще такой намордник. Осваивать "слепую печать" , тоже желания нет. В общем , VR это для тех у кого до хрена свободного времени. Я к таким не отношусь. + графическая составляющая заметно ниже мониторной. И придется многим жертвовать. В общем, взвесив весь геморрой cвязанный c VR и то что к эффекту быстро привыкаешь , я понял что оно того просто не стоит. И еще есть эффект зависимости. Поэтому я сперва думал оставить шлем как аттракцион... но быстро понял что надо избавляться физически от этой шайтан машины и продал. Сейчас летаю на мониторе, все отлично. Графика замечательная. ФПС- нормальный. Воображение отрабатывает все что надо. Связи с реальным миром не теряю. Движения ничем не скованные.

I will upload the USS Lewis Puller's new Collision model and ship main.lua file. I will let you all know when it's uploaded so you test you can test it.   37. Removing the CFTs from an F-15E for air to air roles would be an act of desperation (ie. all of the dedicated air to air fighters are for some reason gone, or otherwise unavailable). In DCS, it would just be standard. I hope they don't remove them or at minimum make it server enforceable. And yes, it is a rocket-ship...and like a rocket, it'll go fast going in a straight line more or less. It still won't have F-15C performance.

  40. Exactly, that's why I stopped flying helicopters in DCS (and the A-10 doesn't fare much better for the same reason). You are right, it's not an Apache problem, it's a DCS problem, but the Apache lives in DCS. The environment in which it operates should match the level of realism and immersion, but it does the opposite.

  41. The ALR-45, APR-36, and APR-25 are all similar family and the ALR-45 will be done for the early tomcat. The ALR-46 will be the RWR on release for the F-4E. As Cobra says we would like to do an APR-36 but no promises at this time. Sorry for any confusion.

  43. You seem to totally ignore every information devs already gave us. Yes, it may change but there is no reason to hope for that. Let's sum up: 1. MAC is going to be separated from DCS. It's logical to share as much code as possible but no connectivity was ever implied. 2. There were no signs of introducing any aircraft that wouldn't be possible to be made for DCS. 3. FC3 stays as is in DCS. Not related to MAC apart from the simplified systems form.

  45. Framerate drops to like 2 fps whenever the TGP is in FLIR mode and has harrier exhaust in the view field direction, even if it is masked. Can be verified by viewing other harriers nearby. Does not happen if the TGP is in TV mode. The problem is the rendering of the IR smoke effect of exhaust.

  46. Isn't it funny how different people are. One of the reasons I fly the Tomcat is Jester and I love that he feels so alive..I hate George and Petrovich as the pale in comparison, can barely do anything and are just very frustrating! I love Jesters sugar calls, his help during BFM, his sarcastic comments and praise. He feels a genuine friend to me, maybe that says more about me? But I for one certainly hope they don't tone him down or push more towards a George ai style.
