I don't want to celebrate too soon, but Dropbox Professional seem to handle the download/bandwidth requirements pretty well so far.10 points

You will be pleased to hear that ED is currently working on that.7 points

It's nice to get a good (albeit, brief) look at the bird. I really need this F4 to get released so they can focus on the real star of the show7 points

Maybe the continued interest in the Mi-8 means the cockpit might get some love one day. Such a fantastic chopper but the cockpit needs a paint job.6 points

Personal preference, but I would not choose a mod over a full fidelity module. Even if it lacks the carrier ops. I also understand that some players are fine with lower fidelity as long as they can fly their favourite aircraft. Just look at the F-22 mod! There is probably not one bolt in the correct place in that thing, but many players love it anyways. The don't care if it's 20% of the real deal. That is ok, but it's not for me. Fidelity is what got me into DCS in the first place. Also, having dealt a bit with mods (even created some) I have noticed that it's likely to mess with your DCS World install in some way. There is no right or wrong here. But mods and modules are two very different things.6 points

Dear all, as usual we would kindly like to ask you for your feedback for this patch. The changelog is rather small this time, we added the SEAD task in preparation of a TALD fix coming from ED (so the F-14 AI will be able to use TALDs again), and most importantly: the pilot is now killable. Note that this is the first iteration of a killable pilot - currently we are having some issues separating the pilot from the RIO, if the RIO seat is manned by a human player, both SP and online. This means that if the RIO is killed, the pilot dies, too, provided the RIO is a human player when being killed. We will continue to look for a solution ofc. As always thank you for your kind feedback and continued support! DCS F-14 Tomcat by Heatblur Simulations Added SEAD as a task for the Mission Editor. Partially fixed pilot not being killable. (WIP: killing a player spawned as RIO will kill the pilot instead, both SP and MP.) Prepared Op. Reforger Mission 5 for pending F-14 AI TALD fix by ED. Fixed certain shader params in the F-14B cockpit causing very dark panels.5 points

Yeah, they really exaggerated its performance. It's propulsion system is no secret, it's very hard to make such a system have performance like that. Definitely a possibility. I agree. The Sky Guard would be nice. Just click "CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD" at the top. I have removed all individual links because of the overhead it creates. Thanks for the suggestion!5 points

Very annoying bug... I hope this gets hot-fixed asap... I found the following workaround: Press 'Right Ctrl + NUM 0' twice After that the saved FOV is restored and everything works as before the update - this must be done at the beginning of every flight!5 points

You need to read up on some basic flying principles, as this is just flat wrong. If you are on speed at 150 knots indicated airspeed (KIAS) based on your weight, then you are on speed at 150 KIAS. Period. You can have a 100 knot headwind, a 100 knot tailwind, and anything in between. Doesn’t matter. You will be on speed at 150 KIAS. Your ground speed will be 50 knots with a 100 knot headwind and 250 knots with a 100 knot tailwind, but you will be indicating 150 KIAS and will be on speed. Period. Are you looking at the HSD and thinking your ground speed is your airspeed? P.S. for flying an approach, your airspeed may be interesting, but that’s all it is. It plays no part in flying an approach. As an exercise, and to break what looks like may be a bad habit or misperception you’ve latched onto, mentally “cover” the airspeed indicator and ignore it. Get on speed and fly the approach without even knowing what your airspeed is, because it doesn’t matter. Use pitch/trim to maintain AOA and throttle to maintain vertical speed. AOA and vertical speed are the only things you care about.4 points

Dear all, we have no changelog for the Viggen this patch, except making it work with the new update ofc - our apologies for that. We will ofc continue to push the Viggen further on remaining items/ fixes in the coming patches. If anything occurs during this patch, please be so kind and leave your feedback here. Thank you all for your continued support!3 points

MI8 and Huey should both get major upgrades to graphics and abilities. I would be fine if it cost a few bucks As long as I get better graphics, troops in the back and ability for proper slick huey.3 points

Confirmed it was not working correctly, fixed internally now. The maintenance manual we used for reference seemed to have an error regarding this, which confused us. Thanks for reporting it!3 points

If you download the mission they're using, and look at the mission lua, you'll find that the lines in "Required Modules" is deleted, many servers do this. I've been on a couple of them, and even ran a unit that did that with its server. The point the OP is trying to make is the same thing I tried to make a while back... make it better for these mods to be included. For example, if you have a mod that adds the M1A2SEPv3, while you're setting the mod up you can have the base-game M1A2 take its place in the event someone connects who doesn't have the mod. Or if the mission has the Project Flanker Su30, the replacement model could be the base-game Su30, or the Su34. The same could be done for weapons, warships, infantry, you name it. Right now, as the OP pointed out earlier, ED does not seem to have any real interest in expanding Naval Operations, or Ground Operations, which means that the Modders have to step-up and add the items that DCS is missing. I think the few items the OP brought up would be a good way for DCS to have the mods included, and if the files were uploaded to something that ED controls, all of the security concerns that some people have also go out the window.3 points

Sorry to fan the flames here, but it isn't helpful to dismiss problems with the DCS Mig-21 module's flight performance as "bluefor asking for a nerf to compensate their skill issue". This can and should be addressed as a technical question. The DCS Mig-21bis module currently has a sustained turn rate that increases down to its stall speed. That is not how any supersonic turbojet fighter performs, for fundamental physical reasons. In other words this bug isn't actually a question of realism, it is a question of physical plausibility. The real world data is only illustrating that. The graph in the bug report is not the best illustration. Here is a different view, comparing directly to the turn rate plots from the original Soviet technical manual. No extrapolation of any kind, and none needed because the divergence from reality and plausibility is fully evident at any speed below M0.6. The real aircraft is losing turn rate while the DCS version is speeding up. No other module in DCS does this, let alone any aircraft in real life. If you believe the Mig-21 flight model is not broken, please present a technical argument that its behavior is plausible and not ad-hominem attacks against those who notice something is wrong. I for one have zero interest in the F-5, and lots of interest in the Mig-21... the real aircraft anyway. The moment the FM bugs are mitigated I will buy it. Until then, not a chance.3 points

To each his own, but I personallly agree with you. I absolutely abhor the MiG-19P cockpit in DCS - the 3D is average at best and the textures are awful. Which was one among other things that made me not buy it after trialling it (twice, back on its release and another just over a month ago). I sure hope RSS doesn't follow the same ugly aesthetic choices. As old as the MiG-15bis module is, I adore its cockpit (both 3D and textures), actually still one of my favorite DCS modules. I'm hoping the MiG-17F cockpit in DCS will be better, but would be content if at least as good as this one.3 points

I'm happy to report they absolutely took this concern to heart, and you can swap seats in the Hip still, the same as is currently possible in the Huey. GOOD JOB TEAM.3 points

Still no fix for the carrier crew launch animations for the A. I realize this is an ED thing, but it's like a one-line lua fix.3 points

Hi all, I was looking into developing a pvp/pve Falkland server. So far have basic scripting and fleet placements done. I am at the stage where I am planning out the ground unit and strategic object placement. I was curious about the best resource (or any relevant static templates) to find approximate troop locations at the onset of the conflict and ORBATS for each side. I have done some online research but I figured I would contact this great community for any additional guidance! Thanks!2 points

This happens in the UH1H in-game- if you drop off the Burj Al-Arab landing pad too fast, you put negative G on your rotor and it makes a fast exit from the helo It doesn't like negative Gs!2 points
