  2. Hey CH! First of all, huge fan of your Mods! Been playing since the A-10C released on CD ROM in... what was it, 2011? 2012? Long time ago. I'm really happy that my friends showed me the work you're putting into making DCS a much more "alive-looking" environment with all the Units! I know how much time 3D modelling takes up though, but since you said in your FAQ you appreciate suggestions, I couldn't help but try my luck~ For years and years I've been hoping, borderline praying for someone to do at least some JSDF Units. My Grandfather is Japanese and it's my second home. With the Saipan Map, I love to fly the F-16 and F-15E as F-2A and F-15DJ placeholders. Your Chinese assets are already amazing~ And I know there are certain old Mods of the Type 10, Type 93 and a few others. But these Mods are very old, some have lots of bugs and outdated scripting/modelling. Again, I know how much 3D modelling takes. And Japan isn't really a nation that is often thought about when flying DCS... But to me personally and to my circle of close friends, we'd absolutely love just a few Units of my beloved JSDF. Even if it's a Type 16 and that's it, I'd already be in heaven I really don't want to sound like I demand anything... But in case you are thinking about actually doing some of our Units, the best and most useful in DCS World would likely be Mogami Class Frigatte Type 87 SPAAG Type 93 SAM Type 03 中-SAM Type 81 SAM Type 11 SAM For Ground Units Type 10 Type 90 Type 74G(改) Type 16 LAV Komatsu (Can mount a Type 01 ATGM, TOW or Machine Gun) Type 87 Scout vehicle These are a lot of vehicles I listed of course, but take these as a list of potential suggestions. I definately do NOT demand anything- Just some of these would already make me probably ignore my University and Job for the four weeks directly following their release- www Though, whether you are able to make some of them into reality or not, I am already glad to use all your other Assets in the Missions I'm building for my friends. They make DCS World so much more unique and fun for all of us! Keep doing what you're doing and stay awesome! 日本からありがとうございます!お疲れ様です!

  4. Dear DCS community, The Polychop Simulations team wishes you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year! With the year coming to an end it seems like a good time to reflect on the past and look at the future. Let’s address the big elephant in the room first. While this year has not been the year of the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior release, we’re thrilled to finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. In fact, we’re approaching the end of the tunnel fast. While the development of the module hasn’t been exactly a smooth ride, the progress made in the past year has been immense. As the new coders took over the project from our parting engineer, they saw the need to either rewrite or refactor most of the code that drives the module to ensure the desired internal quality threshold in systems and the flight model as well as make it more efficient, dynamic and future proof. Artwork has been touched up and finalized. On top of that new features have been added which include but are not limited to Level 2 Manned-Unmanned System (L2MUMS), an overhauled Control Display Subsystem, Optical Display Assembly, Pilot Display Unit and the Improved Data Modem. Last but not least, the module has been sent to Eagle Dynamics and passed the flight model tests. All this would not have been possible without the continued efforts put in by our subject matter experts and testers who have stuck with us for many years now. We’re confident it will soon™ be time to lift the veil and break the radio silence surrounding the development of the OH-58D Kiowa Module. The past year has not been all about the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior though. While the original plan was to work on an overhaul of the SA-342 Gazelle after the release of the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior module, a decision based on the original planned development timeline, the newly formed team revised that plan and started to develop the SA-342 Gazelle overhaul in tandem instead. With the first few updates for the SA-342 released in 2023 we’re off to a good start but we’re not even close to being done. The SA-342 Gazelle will see intermittent updates, including but not limited to the flight model, A.I. gunners, a graphical facelift and English cockpit. We’d like to express our sincere gratitude to a number of contributors from the community who have dedicated their time and spared no efforts in providing the most excellent liveries that are now part of the module.

  9. I found a new video showing J-7G manoeuvres for the celebration of the new year, also as a part of the retirement ceremony for their pilots. This old bird still looks as gorgeous as ever. At 2:36 we finally get a glimpse of its cockpit. It looks so cool. I hope Deka make it to the next module after the J-8PP.

  11. Dear all, we would like to take the opportunity and thank you for your kind and tremendous support! You are simply the best community there is and we could not feel more blessed with all the enthusiasm you showed us and the very kind patience you give us - we do not take it for granted, and we take the responsibility it puts on us very seriously. 2023 has been an overall great year, despite some shortcomings and delays, we had hoped to have the early F-14A out by now, for example, but our promises to you of course remain and we will not stop working hard and doing our best until we fulfilled all of them. With the F-4 on the horizon - and many great things cooking in the background - we hope that we can up our game even more during 2024 and to finally also make good on the still remaining items for all our modules. What remains to say is that we wish you all a Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year 2024. We wish you, your families and loved ones peace, health, prosperity and success in whatever you do, and thank you for being a part of this journey - a journey that we feel has many new and great stops ahead for all of us in the future. Thank you all from the entire Heatblur Team. Onwards and upwards! (screenshot: Yae Sakura, from last year's christmas screenshot competition.)

  12. Dear Partners, fellow 3rd Parties and Pilots, Thank you for the continued support and words of encouragement. As are we; the community is very passionate for the aircraft we develop, and take heart to everything aspect of the module. We'll do good on our end and get those pesky remaining bugs squashed in the coming year. This year has been quite an aerobatic routine. Between developing the F4U-1D, and other exciting unannounced projects, we've managed to get the Corsair on the final stretch, along with it's Essex Class Carrier and Japanese Ground Assets. We are starting to make time to upgrade our older modules. First by implementing the extremely long awaited LoDs. and eventually the full MiG-21bis Phase II update. Updates will start picking up pace, so hold on to your HOTAS and stay tuned! With that, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! May all your dreams come true during this holiday season, and your hearts be filled with love, happiness, and gratitude!

  14. One reoccurring issue is when ED changes a weapon scheme and add a required parameter for a weapon. Obviously mod makers can't guess beforehand which parameters will be added or required in the future. These kind of issues are usually critical and will crash DCS. The only way to fix them is to update the mod and make it compatible with the new parameter requirements.

  15. Well this is awesome... I do hope they model the 5.56x45mm ballistics correctly. Having shot a lot from a helo IRL the lead in the video look a little to short but I am EXTREMELY excited for this feature regardless of the accuracy/authenticity.

  16. You've ben answered in the other thread you started: If you launched DCS at least once, then there is a folder created on your system partition here: C:\Users\[your windows user name]\Saved Games\DCSworld\ It might be hidden by Windows, but it's certainly there. Un-hide it if needed. You have to go there, create \Mods\Aircraft\ sub-folder manually and extract A-4 archive over there. It's the only way to make the A-4 mod work.

  17. I would argue that fastest way to get into position is to go straight to the source of jamming.
    2 points
  18. F-16s and F/A-18s suffer from jamming just like the F-15E does. That's the very purpose of jamming. This is not a bug, but a feature. If you don't want to get jammed, shoot down the jammer (if he's hostile), ask him to tun off his jammer (if he's friendly) or point your radar in a different direction.

  19. I would argue that full-fidelity high quality F-15C would make A TON OF MONEY for its authors, be in DCS or Razbam or Heatblur or whoever else. I'd speculate it will out-sell all top modules because: - F-16C pilots will fall in love with raw performance, firepower, radar range, and BVR - F/A-18C pilots who fly Hornet for range and A-A armament but don't really enjoy the navy life, with the need to get back to the deck on most of the servers where any sensible range for A/G missions require use of Hornets. - F-15E pilots who bought it with a dream of kicking ass with radar, range and load, but find the perf and CFTs unsatisfying with poor dogfight experience, and continue to dream of kick-ass A/A - F-14B pilots (outside of hardcore fans) who can find more modern speed and angels outside of fleet defense - and many others who'd enjoy dedicated air dominance platform. Heck the above are mostly strike-tuned - yeah Boyd is overrated but he must be rolling in grave for what Viper has become - mostly a wild weasel with 3 bags and HARMs; Hornet is made to deliver GBUs/JDAMs on land targets from carrier, and Mudhen is a near-bomber strike platform for theaters with fixed airfields available. F-15C slots will be taken like hot cakes on many servers online and create lots of pain for red forces.

In 2024 stehen weitere spannende Entwicklungen an. Nochmals vielen Dank für eure Leidenschaft und Unterstützung. Viele Grüße, Eagle Dynamics

  24. The new Tu-95 really is a beauty, thanks a lot! For 1980s scenarios, it would be great to have a soviet skin in silver and with the old fashioned red star - any chance you might do one? If you're too busy, I might try to do a simple repaint as well, like I did for the H-6 to make it resemble a Badger.

  26. lateral balance is easy when utilizing symmetrical loadouts, but that's out the window as soon as you strap on a TGP, ECM, and even worse if you only need one 2000 lbs bomb that can't go on the center. A graphical slider that would illustrate current horizontal center of gravity would help with this. There may be value in a second slider that shows wind-resistance, but I tend to think that's not as important. I would assume that DCS is already calculating these values under the hood, just asking to make them visible when creating a loadout. Thanks for all you do for us!

  27. The Slave function is always enabled by default in the Pilot crewstation, whereas the CPG can toggle Slave on and off using the SLAVE button on the right TEDAC handgrip. As a result, the Pilot is given two functions to mitigate the absence of a SLAVE button. 1) The WPN->UTIL page displays a CUEING option that allows the Pilot to hide the ACQ LOS Reticle and the Cueing Dots around the central LOS Reticle. These symbology elements are only displayed in the CPG crewstation when Slave is enabled, but this allows the Pilot to selectively remove these elements from the symbology. 2) If the Pilot's selected sight is FCR, Slave is enabled by default when the FCR is initially selected. However, if the Pilot moves the FCR centerline by pressing either of the arrow buttons on the FCR page, Slave will become disabled in the Pilot crewstation. Slave will be re-enabled if the Pilot selects any Acquisition source from the ACQ selection menu, even if the existing ACQ is re-selected; or if the Pilot selects HMD as the sight.

  35. Hello everyone! During 2022-2023 I’ve monitored (from time to time) flight trackers (like Flightradar24.com) and I think that military callsigns seen there could be useful for DCS developers and/or addon makers to make ATC and military communications in DCS much more interesting and realistic. As I’ve monitored flight trackers not 24/7, these callsigns represent just a portion (although in some cases there are plenty of them) of callsigns used by Air Forces. Below are ONLY callsigns which have been used in Europe/Mediterranean/Middle East in 2022 and 2023/up to now. I don’t really know if they are relevant for CONUS or other regions. But they will surely do for Caucasus and Syria maps (I think Persian Gulf too). There may be mistakes. I’d appreciate if somebody adds other callsigns and/or corrects mistakes. What to be noted here? - Lots of callsigns for different Air Forces operating in Europe/Mediterranean/Middle East and represented in DCS for A400M, A330 MRTT, B-52, C-130/KC-130, KC-135, Eurofighter Typhoon, F-15E, F-16, Tornado, helicopters (less callsigns for other types); - Special information (units etc.) if identified; - Some callsigns really fill gaps in DCS (most notably German Tornado IDS and Belgian/Netherlands’ F-16s, Belgian/Italian/RNAF/RNoAF/USMC C-130s/KC-130s); - Quite a lot of callsigns for addons (A330, A400M, Eurofighter Typhoon, P-8A, RC-135W). Let’s go. Air Forces, aircraft types and callsigns are in alphabetical order. 37. Wow, this look great! I am looking forward to see it in action. Great you took the chance to follow the initial AH-6 idea from nibbylot and develop it to a detailed mod.

  42. Good news :). From FB of Polychop Simulations: "Dear DCS community, The Polychop Simulations team wishes you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year! We’d like to express our sincere gratitude to a number of contributors from the community who have dedicated their time and spared no efforts in providing the most excellent liveries that are now part of the module."

  43. Can you record a video of what you are doing? Also, do not use binds, use mouse to click in cockpit. Like I said, according to your latest track, FCR button is working.

  44. I thought we were promised a large update in the December beta patch for Sinai???? Just read the patch notes and NOTHING for the Sinai map. How can we have no patches after all this time?

  45. I started working on it, but I suddenly stopped this summer due to an important testing activity. I shall soon resume my work. ED still need to make it possible to use custom F10 maps in the Saved Games folder (requested).

  46. I can make track when I get home, but last time I flew MiG-15 I noticed that gyro sight corrects for NR-23 G acceleration correctly, but not ballistically. In gyro mode; if you get behind a level non turning target, and change range, the pipper does not move up and down at all to account for range, only G acceleration. So if I use Gyro sight, I must still correct for ballistic drop of NR-23. I would think this incorrect, so maybe I have some MiG-15 manual translating to do. I presume this is why you needed to place target between center of pipper and outer ring, the ballistic compensation is not there.
