  1. Personally I'm really looking forward to the WWII Mariana's map, which has hopefully been held back for all the accompanying assets to be released together Going to be great, not just for WWII, but a Vietnam stand in, until the real thing. TeTeTe & Eighball have got Vietnam covered with their mods & Hawkeye60, WWII with his Testing Hawkeye60's (Et al) WWII Pacific mods - coming to a (war) theater near you soon!

  2. Haha! The crew, you mean me, myself and I. I just posted screenshots of some of the new assets coming in the China asset pack update. The complete list isn't finished yet, but here are a couple of the new helicopter assets: Z-8G Transport helicopter Z-10 Attack helicopter Z-19 Attack helicopter Z-21 Attack helicopter Z-20 Transport helicopter Weapons include unguided rockets, machine gun pods, guided rockets, IR AAMs and AGMs. As well as door gunners for the transport helicopters.

  3. The Australia map will be the first fictitious map in DCS(Australia is obviously just filmed in the back lot of a Hollywood studio, as no place with monsters every 5 feet can be real) I'm only interested in the Australia map if they have Kakadu National park on it. 20 000km2, it will be the biggest jungle/rain forest in DCS, can be used as a poor man's Vietnam map, or south east Asia ww2. If it's not on the map? I have no real need for it.

  4. It's a great picture. Love the lighting. @Bazz_Mulder: I made a 4K one for my own use with Topaz AI upscaler, posted below. @Vox Let me know if you're ok with this, if not I'll delete it.

  5. Seriously though: if there's one thing about DCS that makes me pull my hair out is the awful aggravating AI (that is either godlike or has the IQ of a shoelace). GFM and sensor abilities: make it so that enemy A/G aircraft without radar don't start flying straight for you from 80nm away and want to dogfight an F-16, following you around even through thick clouds... And not getting shot down by "friendly" AI lobbing fox3s into a furball would also be nice

  6. And I find it one of the biggest problems of DCS, we need more ground units, more AI aircrafts etc, not another sand map or Australia map (with all my respect to guys making Australia map, what are we going to do there? Fight emu?). I know many people will disagree with me, and this is my humble opinion, but even making WW2 planes wasn't a good idea

  7. I mean things can change, that's why it's called "2025 and beyond" and not "what is DCS like right now?". Fair enough if people still would want to buy the maps, it's just my personal opinion that I wouldn't and I see no point in those maps without proper missions and campaigns... But lets wait for the video first and what it has to offer.

  8. He literally asked for more suitable assets, no "planesets" were mentioned. You really need a better translator and a better attitude. No need to be so negative. Cheers! That's why people ask for more assets all the time! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

  9. Computer games are content. Mobile Phones and Operating Systems are tools. Apart from that, tell me an OS that isn’t/ wasn’t in perpetual “early access” until replaced or abandoned.

  14. With the much improved and enhanced deck crew of the Supercarrier I am sure we soon will see further animations like troop transports, animated troops and ground crew on airfields. The future looks bright and I am really looking forward to the 2025 and beyond video!

  18. The Dash-1 charts always show 46.000 lb as the maximum desirable landing weight, which is pretty much our F-4E without any external loads right after take-off, so you can basically land a clean (i.e. no stores, but with pylons) but fully fueled F-4. Speeds will be rather high then though, around 170-180KIAS, and my experience with the HB F-4E is that it's better to fly a little faster and not "on-speed" to have some margin to work with above the runway. The manual says a stable approach is flown at 700fpm descent rate and will result in a 500fpm touchdown, but then Jester will call you names for your landing skills, so having a few extra knots to work with and flaring nicely at touchdown will give you his appreciation.

  19. ED aren't youtubers that put out some shoddy content every day. Production quality of those ED videos is much higher, and I wager that just finalizing the video takes more than two weeks. An educated guess: a video production project like this runs 3 months plus: from the definition of the message, over storyboarding, production of "b" footage, main footage, music composition/selection/licensing, audio recording (ED Nick has a cool voice, yes, but there little chance that he can do that in a single, 1h session), audio mixing, to post/mastering. 3 Months seems tight to me, so yeah, let's hope that they hit the 16th. This video is going to be viewed by millions and impacts their reputation directly. Worse, the footage will be dissected frame-by-frame and analyzed by certified nutcases like me that hang around here, just waiting for a single mis-rendered blend that "obviously" confirms half-life 3. And yeah, I'm looking forward to that video, too.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- R91 Charles de Gaulle by the Split-Air Team The Split-Air Team presents its mod currently in development, which is the R91 Charles de Gaulle. It will offer the following features: !! However, please note that we have to deal with DCS updates, and there's no guarantee we can keep all features functional !! Compatibility with Supercarrier: It can be used with this module, although there are still adjustments to be made for perfect integration. Realistic Rendering: We aimed to include as much detail as possible, from the flight deck to the catapult animations and more... Complete Operations: Catapulting, landing, and interactions with onboard aircraft are functional. Self-Defense System: The aircraft carrier has its own self-defense system, perfect for carrier defense scenarios. Combined Arms Compatibility: Every weapon on the aircraft carrier can be operated by the Combined Arm module, including the ability to control the elevator. The Charles de Gaulle offers interesting features, but the project is still a work in progress. The Split-Air team is actively working on it so that it can be completed soon. It is also worth noting that the mod is under constant development, so information or features are subject to change. Stay ready to take off on the famous flagship of the French Navy.

  22. Hey all -- I'm a fan of ED's products, and a DCS nut. I love flying, I love creating missions, I host two public dedicated servers (at >100 USD/month), I adore most of the modules for DCS - and own them all (yeah, that includes the Hawk). As the year is drawing to an end I looked at my hangar, and thought "well, there now sure seem to be a *lot* of unfinished 'Early Access' titles in here". A full 18 of them are slowly leaking an ever-increasing bit of frustration onto the well-lit floor. To me, each and every Early Access title that ED sell to me comes with a promise: that they will work diligently to finish as quickly as possible. Why do I think that? [source: Eagle Dynamics Home Page] Being an Engineer by trade (even though I'm a management goon for the past 30 years) I took stock of my EA module stable, fired up Excel (don't judge) -- and these are the cold hard numbers: Top Sheet Results: I currently own 18 EA modules that have accumulated 49 Years of EA Time. That is a lot, and my tiny mind immediately spat out another number: Assuming (educated guess) that the EA models on average require an effort of 18 person months to complete, ED's total Early Access Debt (to complete all modules) are 27 person years. So please hear my plea: Dear ED, please remember the promises you made to me and all your customers. I understand that you must sell modules to survive. And please understand that I also measure your efforts on how well you keep your promises. In that regard I think you can and should improve; the numbers currently are not in your favor, I know that you can do better. Please strive to be better in 2025 and the years that follow. I think it would befit a company of your status and reputation to reduce the Early Access Debt at the end of 2025 by 10 years, to 17, and I think it realistic that you can get under 10 years by the end of 2026. Here are the numbers, lest you want to check them yourself Module Released EA Time (Years) Remarks F-16 2019 5 F4E 2024 0.5 F-15E 2023 1 Assumed discontinued Mirage F-1 2022 2 Mosquito 2021 3 JF-17 2019 5 F-14 2019 5 YAK-52 2018 6 AJS Viggen 2017 7 CH-47 Chinook 2024 0.5 AH-64 Apache 2022 2 Mi-24 HIND 2021 3 Afghanistan 2024 0.5 Kola 2024 0.5 Sinai 2023 1 Normandy 2 2023 1 South Atlantic 2022 2 Assumed discontinued Super Carrier 2020 4 Total EA Modules 18 Products Total EA Time 49 Years Est'd Backlog 27 FTE (1 FTE ~ 1 Person Year) Data Source: Eagle Dynamics Web Site, as of November 2024 Yes, it's a simplistic world view (I am a manager after all). I hold ED accountable for everything that they sold me. I do not care if some subcontractor acted up. IMHO, ED are run by adults, and they know what accountability means: no excuses, no finger-pointing. They took my money, they made the promises, and I think they are good for the trust that I placed in them to keep them. And occasionally, they may need a soft push to remember that we believe in them and have not forgotten their promises.

  28. Yes, this is the Moza MH16 on the Moza base I checked the Moza discord, and the reply from Moza was the real F16 doesn't have it, therefore their stick is a replica and doesnt have it either. Which is a pretty silly response considering this is not a replica stick but a mutlipurpose gaming stick

  29. I'm not going against OP, but you know you made a good product when the complaints are for something so......... small. A change in material for the HUD's emitter lens similar to what the F-16 module from ED would be nice, but that in no way affects my experience. I didn't realized it was a texture from a photo until now.

  33. Your log file shows an error in the logbook for the Mission Editor. Try renaming your C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor folder to MissionEditor.old (this will get recreated when you next start the game). If you haven't already then I'd also recommend deleting your fxo and metashaders2 folders in the Saved Games\DCS folder as well. If that still fails then: Next, delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\TEMP\DCS and try again. Next, try renaming Saved Games\DCS to DCS.old and try again. (it's important to rename so that you can copy back config afterwards to get your bindings if this works) In addition to this you have heaps of mods so failing that try removing the mods and run a slow repair of the game. You can add the mods back again if that fixes it (may need to do one by one to figure out which one caused the issue if that was the case. Mods can often break between upgrades) You have an existing page file set to 16384. I'd recommend increasing that to 32768. Some additional tuning items reported by the DCS log analyzer for your log file: Disable civil traffic. Set Preload Radius to max. 60000. You currently have a preload radius of 109700 which is really high, especially given your RAM and VRAM, so you are loading a bunch of unnecessary stuff. Decrease Terrain Textures. Turn off Depth of Field. Set Water to Low. Turn down Anisotropic Filtering. Drop another log file here if this continues to happen after you've tried the above.

  34. It's been a while and demand will be high, lots of people have been waiting for them to upgrade and it'll be another crazy race (scalpers warning) as soon as they get out. My guess is that prices will be noticeably higher than that. The announced USA prices are good, but then those are just MSRP ("Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price", emphasis on suggested). Now for Europeans, better expect prices to be at least 25% higher than that (they always are), so something like this: RTX5090 ---> ~2500€ RTX5080 ---> ~1250€ RTX5070Ti ---> ~950€ RTX5070 ---> ~700€ Anyways, let's hope the performance increase is worth the long wait (GDDR7 should be great), and that prices don't get stupid crazy inflated.

  35. I replied to you on Reddit. For everyone else here I will quote myself ”That’s because what you need is the flight manual. Minimum control speed- 200 kmh VNE- 1400 kmh IAS, Mach 2.35 VY- depends on profile: for MIL climb this is 870-900 kmh TAS. For AB climb this is Mach 0.9. Above 12 km you usually need to climb at Mach 1.65+ or 1250 kmh TAS when going for max cieling or speed VX- this depends on altitude and climb profile. There is no one VX angle. I often find 10 degrees with MiL power works for me until you get high. You can work it out manually by following the speed recommendations for climb profile VFE- 600 kmh IAS VR- maximum ground speed of front wheel, 320 kmh, main wheels is 360 kmh VLE- 500 kmh There isn’t much else. Best turning speed is 850-1000 kmh, though most people use 800-900 kmh for lower G and better radius.”

  38. I think the palm tree could be WW2 Mariana's which is probably coming very soon. It's possible we might see a bundle of ww2 assets, Corsair, hellcat to run on this map. Vietnam seems unlikely at this stage, as we have two big maps in very early EA plus the fulder gap that has been significantly teased.

I cannot recommend to the community enough watching the following 2 Shawn Ryan episodes (broken up into 2) discussing the Blackhawk Down conflict with one of the Delta Operators. Hands down the best interview I have scene on the Army Special Warfare community and hell of a lot more gripping than the Movie. The second episode goes into Mogadishu. Worth a listen while you are able to listen, I promise you will get sucked in.
