Dear all, sorry for the lack of updates. I just now have begun redoing this campaign with some of the fixes and issues addressed that I wanted addressed, there are a few more I am looking to get done as well, but I hope to be able to motor through the campaign and get it more to where I wanted it originally. I also, at the time of creation wanted a series of campaigns on all maps, I want to do some free content as well as the standard paid DLC campaigns, I want to add in some training aspects as well. I will try and keep people notified of my progress, as well I have noted feedback from other threads and will keep it in mind. Thanks all.7 points

They've to lower the poly count somewhere or even the NASA super computer would implode . After all, it's a flight sim, only in CA those details are relevant, whenever you fly by 400mph those things are invisible.5 points

Would be nice to get the AUF2 bi-bomb rack from Rafaut for the Mirage F1 https://www.rafautgroup.com/fr/skills/auf2/ Get used for years with the F1-CR and F1-CT, example below in 1991 during Operation Daguet:4 points

I've just updated the Mod to V1.4:null - Better Main Rotor blurring - Added protable Fuel tank - Added fuel tank skins for both SH-3G skins - Added Window wippers - Changed static folded units to flying aircraft to remove bug => Now you can insert the folded models from the Static Models - Helicopters page as well, this should solve the rotation-bug.4 points

Hi folks, I know the spanish versions never carried die Magic 2*, but for the sake of simulating other customers, it would be awesome to have the option of using the Magic 2. ___ *not sure whether the qatari EDAs did eventually carry the M23 points

The glass issue is resolved, it was my version of the mod, I had screwed it up, now fixed. Year and years ago I saw a dark blue RN Sea King with dayglo panels, might have been on HMS Ark Royal IV or HMS Eagle, but I have never been able to find an image of it. They moved on to the light sea grey airframes after that and used those up until the death of RN Air Sea Rescue. Decided to do it anyway: mmarques - I will try an Aussie skin next.3 points

On behalf of the "Dora was bnz" only thing, everyone talks about. Consider several facts. Firstly, the FW was designed as fighter first, the groundpounding was attached later. Does anyone really believe she had no turningcapabillities? Like we see in DCS? In the D9 you have to have like 600+ kph for it to not snap over the left wing as soon as you pull more than 1/5 of the stick. (And other prominet sims feature that too) There was that kind of escapemanouver where you would pull hard if attacked to jinx out of the way like this, but it was achieved by instantly pulling very hard upwards, not by trying to fly a somewhat tight turn. What is the point in building a fighterplane that can not even outturn some bombers like this? No one would ever build a fighter like this. Even more so a fighter praised by even its opponents for its lethality. I keep reading that german pilots only attacked if they were in a favourable position and while they certainly aimed for that we all (as airwarfareenthusiasts) should know better about the reality of the war. Especially at 43 onwards there would have been no german planes in the air at all, no matter what front you look at. The fact that there were and even that some pilots did pretty well shows how good their aircraft still were. Even as the trainingtime dwindled down to only a few hours before the first combat sortie, some managed to do their job and prevail. (Allthough admittedly most of them died before their tenth sortie) Do you honestly think a young, halfassedly trained pilot had the nerve to bnz with allied fighters on its six? We all started as newbies, we all were at that place and i know next to all of us gave in to our insticts and turned at that very moment. Ppl back then were not different from us today in how they behave under stress and the danger of losing their life. (Most decisions taken while fearing death are not wise anyway) There is just no way FWs behaved that badly like it is depicted in modern sims, sorry i am not buying that. Oh and beeing from the country which build and operated these planes has the benefits of reading firsthandaccounts of surviving pilots in their motherlanguage. And while you could argue that it was no D9, i once read about a guy flying in an TA152 C2 or 3 (very few took to the air, even less had contact with the enemie) and he stated, that he was fighting a Typhoon during the last days of the war, at chimneyheight and while he was pulling his stick rather gently, the tiffi had already wingedgevaportrails and eventually snapped over, crashing to the ground. Designwise the Ta is more or less an updated D9 with another engine. So they should not behave that much differently. So my point is, that the FW190 was probably a far better plane than we know it, or else the fighterproduction had remained on the Me109 entirely and no pilot at all would have flown it. Oh and the accounts of allied testpilots are also not to be taken as gospel, as they usually failed to perform axis fighters the way the repective pilots were trained to. No matter if it is about german, italian, or japanese planes.3 points

Lights distance rendering improvements are in progress. With that said if you are using a low visibility range setting you will always get a shorter rendering, that is the purpose of the setting.3 points

I completely agree. I’d be curious to see some higher altitude shots taken at high noon, no clouds, to see the colors and landscape textures. Those were a weak point of Normandy 1, looking too bright. It’s hard to tell by these screenshots if that has been adressed. the details certainly look amazing.3 points

Hey! Let's continue: Why is Normandy 2 released separately and what about Normandy 1944? Normandy 2 is a new map that is created on new technologies and includes a territory much larger than N1944, much more perfect and detailed. The developers of UM and ED are making it so that all users of Normandy1944 will have a free global update available that will allow them to get their N1944 map at the Normandy 2 technology level and make these maps compatible in online multiplayer scenarios. Brighton (UK) You can see more pictures in this 2 theme: What happens when a player with just Normandy 1 spawns at a field on a Normandy 2 MP server that isn't on the Normandy 1 map? All obstacles and terrain for both maps will be the same after updates. Will the internal DCS map coordinates be the same as on the prior Normandy 1944, I mean the same coordinate origin and coordinate scales? Yes, the Origin and coordinate scales remain the same. How low is low detail? If I fly from one high detailed airbase to another high detailed base but pass through a low detailed area, how jarring will it be? We are currently doing a lot of work to ensure that the Normandie2 map is friendly to all DCS users. Beachy Head This is a screenshot of a highly detailed map area. Previously, this was a "low detail zone" on the 1944 Normandy map, but now it will be available to all users with this level of detail. This will be for the users of "Normandy 1944" and for the owners of "Normandy 2". I didn't understand what would happen to my Normandy 1944? The users will not lose anything, on the contrary, they will gain. The map will receive a global update: improvements to the southern part of England will become available with a detailed coastline and original airfields, there will be an update of buildings and airfields. Also, new terrain textures have been added for England. What airfields will be on the map? In addition to the 50 airfields announced, we are already working on airfields: Orly, Dreux, Stoney Cross, Thorney Island, Croydon, Odiham. By the time of release, the number of airfields will reach 65, which is more than on the map of Syria" Funtington Airfield3 points

Yeah IDK, seems like pretty easy question to answer. I did ask Chiz some months back about it and he said they were planning on fixing it, I figured 2.8 might the time to do it, as it has all sorts of cloud stuff. I mean in practice its a simple LOS check for units if they just want to make it binary, which would be fine by me. They could get more fancy later with IR seekers and dB signal reduction, but for now I'm sure everyone would be happy with a simple +/-.3 points

I love night flying in VR, but the short render distance of the city lights and runway lights (~4nm and ~7nm when 2,000' MSL, respectively) leave a bit to be desired. In the new Marianas map there's a small cluster of city lights around PGUM that are visible in excess of 20nm, so it's certainly possible for them to be rendered further out. It would be nice for the rest of the lights, in all maps, to be seen from around 20nm or so, if not farther.2 points

The SAM threat stored as a steerpoints. Putting the HSD cursor over it and pressing TMS UP like you do with regular steerpoint should make it your waypoint. Moreover, TMS DOWN should remove the ring and then TMS UP bring it back. edit: @BIGNEWY,sent you a PM2 points

So its been a while since I made a request for this to be added to MP, and whilst we wait for a vanilla solution: You can mod this into the FA-18C.lua with a single line change. line 791 reads net_animation, if you add 99 to the bottom of the following list it will make your head nods be seen by anyone looking at your aircraft in MP. PS. ED pls, this is such a simple change. Please can we have it in the vanilla version.2 points

The F-4Es sight provides radar based lead compensation when a lock is had, or reverts to a default 1000' range if not. Should the pilot wish to have the 1000' lead presented instead of that from the radar, push the Cage button on the right engine throttle. If the pilot presses the Cage button without a lock, the pipper will stabilize at the Radar Boresight Line (RBL) position.2 points

When I joined the Corps the RN was just phasing out the naval Whirlwinds, and you are right, they were bloody useless. I was on 845 and 846 Sqns when we flew Wessex 5's and their payload wasnt all that great either, they actually led to the Land Rover Company developing the Lightweight Land Rover specifically for 3 Cdo Bde , so that we Bootnecks could air lift them ashore from the Carriers, a normal LR SWB/GS was far too heavy even stripped down to the bare bones. I had moved back into the Bde when the Sea Kings arrived so never got to play with those. Actually learned my MAOT/ATC job partly on RAF Puma's, we liked those beasts, good payload. My first helo was the wee Sioux, we used them as airborne FAC platforms. Happy days.2 points

These are just things that really stand out next to other perfectly modeled high quality objects. You know, like putting old S-3B on new Supercarrier. I don't expect AAA FPS quality, just a consistence.2 points

Hi. I only have 2 MFD's, but I remember there is a way in the device config to select the number of the MFD, so the LEDs show the mfd in question: left MFD is MFD 1 Right MFD is for MFD 2, and so on... Not sure, but it may help. Saludos. Saca1112 points

Thanks a lot for this. I have attached the A-10C and F-14 commands that I use in Quaggles mod. There you will see the problematic 'Lighting Panel' commands, which behave in the same way as the Harrier and M2000. (You'll also see some of the commands I put in myself, but it's just lighting commands you should look at.) I've also attached Quaggles mod that I use. I have 3 of them running without issues. Two are named the same, so I have MFD 1, MFD 2 and MFD 2. I simply mapped the buttons inside of DCS and it can seperate them properly. One thing I figured out is if I unplug the USB connection (PC off) and mix up both MFD 2s, they are switched in DCS as well (center is reversed with the left one). I can revert this by unplugging and insert them correctly when the PC is off or in standby mode. It does not work when Windows is running. So I can confirm the two MFD 2s are similar but I can use them seperately in DCS without the usage of T.A.R.G.E.T.!2 points

Ok guys, my luck seems to be turning ! BIG BREAK THROUGH ! I have noticed (in desperation I tried lots of stuff) that its the MSAA (4x) of DCS that is causing the problem, or at least massively contributing to it. I first deactivated it, and the sensation of stutters when turning my head with track IR was completey gone (or to a level that is barely perceptible, and that even might be just my brain playing tricks on me now). also, the trees passing by while looking at 3 or 9 dont 'step? anymore.. its... SMOOTH. I wouldnt say exactly like without the winwing display exported, but almost. Like VERY VERY VERY acceptable. now, this game in HD, without anti aliasing is a bit rough.. So instead of activating the MSAA in DCS i went into the Nvidia control panel and maxed out my antialiasing there, and BOOM.. still smooth in DCS with winwing exports running !!! And this seems to be the case wether my main monitor is set at 144hz or 120hz ! very very strange. Now, what i am gonna do now, is try a few more Nvidia drivers (currently running 471.41, because they worked great on my system) and see if it adresses the MSSA of DCS, maybe. But all in all, I am happy because if its not the PERFECT solution right now, we are almost there. At least, like that I can definitely put my old thrustmaster set up to rest and install the win wing MIP in my aker barnes cockpit ! I.. am.. relieved ! even though this thread is not closed, and I will keep updating everyone on my discoveries, id like to thank everybody who contributed in this thread. it helps not feeling alone when facing these issues.2 points

Before we became developers we were part of the DCS community as pilots, some of us are still fly in some virtual groups. There is no reason to feel superior to anyone, if you were not here to support us by following and buying our products I assure you that there would be no third party. We are all one big community. However, if I'm not mistaken on day 1 you can definitely download it as a trial ... in case the price is too high you can wait for the discounts :) unfortunately I understand that currency exchange can be quite disadvantageous in some areas of the world, I'm sorry about that. But first of all you have to think about the priorities, DCS is just a nice game... so the 339 on DCS is now present and will continue to be there, you can get it at any time :) Inviato dal mio ASUS_I005D utilizzando Tapatalk2 points

These look great and I understand product promotion, but I wouldn't mind getting also some shots and vids NOT done at hours with low sun position :). In DCS, "golden hours" make every map look good, but noon hours are a different matter (as Normandy 1 is the unfortunate example of). There's also a question of optimization and performance impact of all this eyecandy - Spitfire vid shows severe stuttering over built-up area (though we don't know what hardware it was recorded on). We'll just have to wait and see I guess.2 points
